Yes, so much depends on the state, the length of the marriage AND the judge. BTW, I like the way your friend thinks.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? Chat with friends, fireplace on, come join in..newcomers always welcome!
All the snow is gone. It rained all night and has continued through the day.
Kai is looking longingly out the window. But I know if I kit myself up to brace the elements he'll just run back to the door once a drop of rain hits him. The wind is howling around the house.
It's warm - mid 40's. I keep the fire going though as the dampness just seeps into the house.
Susan I am so sorry you are going through such an already difficult and emotional time to have this dumped on you. In Ontario everything about division of property is decided before the actual court case.
I hope this will make you smile. When I left my first husband the only thing I took as I walked out the door was a vegetable peeler. A vegetable peeler - what the hell was I thinking ? Unlike you we had only been married just weeks and I was very young - under 20..
We are all here right behind you sending positive thoughts and prayers.
LK you sound happy with your job. Good for you !!
Who has got their booster shot ? I need to make an appointment to get mine. I just called and it has to be 168 days after my second shot so I will have to count it up.
Time to thing up some games to keep Kai busy for a bit and tire him out. I might just make him do some doggie pushups that will tire him both physically and mentally.
How do you do Doggie Pushups??
Sis & I got our booster shots a while ago. I did have a reaction to it, but I expected it. VERY sore muscles in the arm, not as severe has the previous 2 and only about 48 hours or so. I was not sick.
We were 70 degrees again today. Going down in the 50s next Saturday. Emma and I gardened all day. She followed me everywhere. We also had a long walk this morning. Lots of neighbors stopping to say "sorry". I am OK as long I do not talk about it. Emma threw up yesterday before breakfast. Just bile. Then she threw up again this afternoon several hours after her breakfast. We are both going to make it, it will just take awhile.
Where is Betty today. Probably recovering from getting up at 4 am to shovel snow. Maybe she is headed to Las Vegas. National Rodeo is here and every top liner county western star is in town. My friend and her husband went to see Brooks and Dunn tonight.
Susan, that is so sad abut your property and the rules. Nevada is a community property state. My operations manager went through a divorce and her no good, did not work, husband got half of her 401k and everything else. Just do not divorce him. Stay married, just separated.
Several of the children in the park came over to the fence today to say thank you for the children Christmas decorations I put out. I am sure they were influenced by their mommies but it was sweet. The tot lot is right behind my home and the fence is wrought iron slats. I have a weeping mulberry tree that is perfect for the decorations Some neighbors have delivered toys to be added to the scene. I will try to remember to take a photo tomorrow.
Dianne, I saw your temps today and we never even come close to being that cold. But that is why I live here. How is your vertigo.
Time for me to go to bed. Good morning Betty. Hugs to you all.
Photo is my Nadina plant cut into a tree. My new passion.
I am still going to get my booster shot. Just have not done so. Dr. down the street said be prepared to rest for 3 days afterward.
Morning all, am up and at it since 4am, decided i would make myself presentable as I’m going with Sharon to the vets, dropping Inuk off for his MRI, having breakfast with Linda and Sharon, maybe some shopping depending on how long it will take to get the call to pick up Inuk… guess when she gets results she will have to decide, hoping not today.
Sharon I can only wish I was in Vegas, can dream right. I am sure you are all grieving including Emma, a big loss for her as well. No snow as of yesterday, heavy rain washed it all away, suppose to be a nice day then snow, snow, snow! I tried to book my booster shot locally but couldn’t get appointment so i will go to Orillia Monday if not a blizzard and get it at 1pm…fabric shopping just around the corner, a bonus..
I know dozens who have had it and other than an aching arm like when we had the other 2 no problems. I listened to one of phizer’s head researchers/doctor who said nobody who has had this new variant has died, been hospitalized, just slight flu like symptoms so let’s hope.
Divorce is never easy Susan, think if i were you i would not peruse divorce, let Bob take all the steps, costs mega $$ to do that and gives you more time to heal.
Well Dianne, we have had a few days that rid of of snow, I’m sure you had much the same Kai would be happy about that. Did you get the extreme high winds last night?
A potato peeler, must have been a treasure, do you still have it? lol, i bet the wood stove does help bones, i had fireplace ona few hours yesterday, just couldn’t warm up, Cathy said it was 75 in here, time to shed the layers of clothing she was wearing..she was enjoying taking her bike out again.
Lindakay $20 for binding a quilt? Do you hand sew it? Well worth it
Are you closer to finishing what people have brought in to be quilting.
Yesterday was quite the day, i was up early, got a good 4 hrs in then my house was a revolving door, company ALL afternoon..not sooner did one leave another would arrive, not use to chatting away for hours at a time so i was exhausted..was in bed i think 4:30pm, got up at midnight and cooked vanilla pudding so I’m having a bowl along with my coffee. Vacuumed already now to put a few tweaks on the memory quilts as Catherine might drive up tomorrow afternoon to pick them up.
Pat, think almost everyone i know who got 2 Covid shots had sore arm to the touch, still better than the possible consequences. Have you seen to make a bear clothing yet.
Drats, Ziggy is trying to pull ornaments off the tree..
Got my vacuum done, time to go downstairs and see what i can get into until 8:30
I bought our home back in 2006, after we'd been married since 1998. So, we've lived together in this home for 15 years. It's now common marital property. It wasn't a gift or inheritance. Although my name was on the deed, because we've been together in it for that long, he also has a stake in it.
Already in bed just got in from Barrie
Lots of problems with the nook but they don’t believe after all the testing in a couple thousand dollars later that it’s cancer, they Suggested spading, he’d need to have anesthetic, vet said it was very risky so Sharon called her own vet who is in the process of moving her shop otherwise Sharon would’ve driven in uc fair they spoke and she said highly unlikely Inuk would make it through the operation so they will try alternatives.
Linda met us and we had breakfast and of course I’m so stupid I know that anything with grease makes me deathly ill and what do I do order bacon and eggs I was sick before I even left the restaurant and sat in the car most of the day nauseated and looking for a washroom at every stop. Just took gravel and I’m hoping that calms my tummy
Susan sorry to hear that’s the answer you got with regards to your place, praying Bob doesn’t fight for his share..
I have 4 more quilts to get done for customers. I don't do binding by hand. These old fingers are full of arthritis.
Keeping inuck in our prayers.
We had a very lovely Thanksgiving on Saturday with about 40. We got several inches of snow during the day which the kids all loved. A few stayed the night rather than make the long trek on bad roads.
Middle of the night I woke up coughing and finally threw up everything I had eaten. I felt terrible the next day just hovered under a blanket and snoozed. The next morning was worse and my daughter started pressuring me to go to the ER. I finally agreed and we set off. Went to the hospital in Chelsea. I was only there for a short time. They called for an ambulance to take me into Ann Arbor. Turns out I had pneumonia, and blood clots in my lungs. All this was putting stress on my heart so my enzymes were elevated and they were worried I was going to have a heart attack. Much testing later and a couple days in ER and they had me down to just the pneumonia and clots. Those gurneys in ER are just plain miserable My hind end was in a world of hurt before I finally got to a room. Yesterday Dr. said I could probably be released on Sat. I dickered with him and he agreed if I could pass a breathing test I could go. I passed OK and I was released clutching my bag of antibiotics. We made the drive home today, not easy by any means but at least I'm now here. I have an adjustable bed so hopefully I'll be able to sleep OK tonight. Last night was a chair. I'm ready now to turn on my heated blanket and crawl away
Oh no. Glad the kids convinced you to go to the ER.
Glad you are home, and I know that trip kicked your but. Take your meds and get some rest. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.
Karen, sorry to hear that you got sick. Sounds like you had a good time until then!!
Omg Karen, here i thought you were flitting from house to house enjoying your visit…hubby and kids must have had quite a fright..would be a difficult trip home..i think, know you won’t agree, maybe time to stay home for a tad, think you overdo whe you are way....was it the silent pneumonia or had you been coughing a lot?
How far is the hospital from you now you are home?
Yesterday i went with Sharon to Barrie to bring Inuk, he went through a lot of tests, they did not see cancer but they felt he should be spaded because his bottom is infected, so much blood But the vet said she should call her vet who is right in the middle of a move and she told Sharon that Inuk would die in the operation.. we brought him home about four and he’s been laying down ever since, hasn’t eaten in three days so Sharon said on Monday if he hasn’t improved any she will take them to her vet and send them over the bridge. I don’t know what she’ll do with that dog gone they’ll be no way of consoling her.
Again I was up at 4 o’clock have my days and nights are mixed up I’m sure, the three little boys came to Sew today.. I didn’t think they would come because there’s a blizzard going on here but they did then Greg and Noah came to visit for a while and now I’m in bed.
After what you went through Karen I hate to say my little sickness yesterday, I went for breakfast with Sharon and LINDA and everybody ordered the breakfast special with bacon and potatoes and eggs and I never made it out of the restaurant I was so sick, we had to waste about four hours waiting for a nurse to come out of the meds they have him to do testing..thank God for plastic bags to vomit in.
Sharon had some running around to do,she wanted to drive me home but i said go about your business and i will rest, No sooner did I get home did I go to bed so I’ve had nothing so far except some cooked vanilla pudding and Jell-O.
Tomorrow I have I think it’s 15 kids coming to do the sleighs so a long day..
I am happy to have the two memory quilts behind me and once tomorrow is over it gives me the rest of the month to just finish a couple of towel sets and work on Jeff’s guitar piece. Greg said they were thinking of having Christmas dinner at Kyle‘s because he’s got such a big place that everyone could be welcome so I don’t know what I’m going to do, Sharon said that she might leave and go somewhere for a few weeks and not be home for Christmas, and mom she likely will come here.
Says aunt Muriel will be on her own, this is terrible and I feel shame for thinking it but aunt Muriel had that stroke and she does not stop talking for one second and that’s not a film not a second all day long and nobody can sit and talk or enjoy because she takes right over so I don’t know what I’m gonna do, big sigh
Well Ziggy is beside me here in bed, I will play a few games and see if I can’t those off. Take care of my friends
Call this morning, one of my two remaining aunts passed in the night. She was the closest in age to me. I so feel the need to go back so I can just sit and hug my one remaining. With being sick I didn't get to see her and now my heart is breaking.
Hugs Karen, i am sure your remaining aunt understands and would want you to keep care of yourself..so hard, breaks your heart indeed. Could you have someone help with Skyping?
Betty, have you tried prilosec for your tummy.
I haven't had one bad episode since I started taking prilosec.
Looks like the boys enjoyed the towel project.
I feel for Sharon, having to put inuk down. You know it is what needs to be done, but so hard to do.
Morning, over 1’ of snow, i was out shovelling (started at 4:30and came in at 5:45) and Marie was outside doing same, just came in, maybe i can have a nap before all those kids come lol. I had called my Snowplow guy to tell him of all the kids coming today and needed my drive done, that is what woke me up, his plowing.
Sooo quiet out there, only noise was hearing Marie a d i shovels working..this morning inside i put all the c(rust as lights on gives me a sense of contentment.
When i spoke to Sharon last night she carried him out so he could try washroom, said she force fed him, hope some improvement this morning..i sure do not want having to bring him tomorrow! If she does she will take him directly to the cremation place in Scarborough.. i offered to go with her but i think her daughter and maybe Brian will go with her.
Well, ran the tub, will soak a bit then on to moving around my tables/machine to accommodate the kids.
Wish me luck
Hope you are all well..
Lindakay will check out Prilosec if we have it here in Canada and try it
Still feeling pretty crappy. The amount of antibiotics I'm taking should have kicked most of this to the curb by now.
We have two parades our band marches in. Yesterday we missed because it was memorial for grand SIL's grandparents. I hated missing it as I was very fond of them, we always got on well. I'm quite close to his parents too and hope they know I'd have been if at all possible. There was a bit of hoohoo from one of the sisters. Guess it's par for the course. Moved into the parents house and said nobody was coming in until she was done with it.
I'll be missing todays' parade as well. Just no way I could get my self into their truck. Waaay too tall. Pretty sure folks would think I'm a typhoid Mary with my cough and watery eyes.
My foot that acts up for no visible reason has of course chosen now to give me grief. One Dr. said one time it was gout. No clue if that's so but it sure is painful to try to walk on. Seems to be lasting longer this time too. I doubt if I could manage to get down stairs to go have it looked at so will wait it out.
Good morning. Waiting for Betty's weather. There is a whisper of freezing rain overnight.
We are all quite a bunch.... the dizzies lurk. I was able to get out to the grocery store yesterday so am stocked up on milk both 2% and chocolate. When my stomach is whirling with the dizzies milk is the only thing that can stay down.
Oh Karen sending you as Judy would say huge arm wraps.
Betty Warren used to say I chased every drop of fat/grease and probable taste when we ordered breakfast out. At home I could control it.
My heart aches for Sharon and Inuk. When Diesel crossed the bridge I thought I would never see up again. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for Sharon and Inuk.
Kai and I were tussling last night and he bit me. Totally my fault. I have cleaned it up well. Rottis are 1 of the dogs that have the largest PSI. I'll keep a close eye on it but I am thinking I need to see a doctor for a tick bite I got 6 weeks ago.
LK are you continuing to enjoy your job ?
Liz how are you doing ?
I know it is hard to believe but I think I am going for a nap.
Just read thru & caught up. Hugs to you all. A lot going on for so many between sick dogs, family member's death & our own pain & suffering. Keeping you in my prayers.
Pat I forgot to tell you what doggie pushups are. It's when you have your dog sit, stay down repeatedly. It's great for mental exhaustion as well as physical. A personal trainer who trained K9s and worked with Stormy and I told me to do that.
Evening all, running a hot bath, barely move my shoulder.. when last of the kids left i shit my craft room door and said “another day I will clean”
All had a wonderful day, great treasures to take home
Dianne over a fo out of snow last night, been falling and blowing all day.. think I’ll be changing tomorrow’s appointment in Orillia for booster shot..not driving in this stuff.
Want to chat with you all but need to fix myself up with bath, meds and salves first
Looks like LOTS of little happy painters!
Morning..
Been outside since 4:00am, not only one, Marie was out doing he area..i have never ever seen snow so hard to ouch..had rained some and i barely had snow in shovel that i had to lift and throw..hard going will be a day for rest as much as i can body said, been a hard week on it.
Dianne did you get any? I haven’t looked for today’s weather, guess i should as if they are calling for more i will call and cancel booster shot.
Hope those of you that don’t live in snow belt are in for a gorgeous day,
Betty we had snow then freezing rain then rain. Ugh !!
Melting like crazy Dianne, do you have a lot of shovelling yourself?
Sky looks so angry so cancelled my booster
Shoulder harness and meds helping a tad
Long time since 4am, tummy thinks it’s Noon, so cooking eggs for egg salad sandwich
Couch it is
I don't envy you the lousy weather.
My neighbor's basset hound puppy got out yesterday and tried to follow a walker. The walker alerted me to it and I was able to catch her & return her to the grateful owners. Turns out my neighbor's child, Alexander, is in the same class with our Alex!
Still raining. There is no snow left to be seen. Weather Liars say sunny but cold tomorrow. The wind is just howling off the lake and around the house. You would think it was 5 pm as it is so dark outside.
I am sure the escaped dog's owners were very relieved he was caught and returned Pat. That was very kind of you and the walker to take the time to get him back. Did his owners even know he was missing ? Nyla's owners never do.
We are going to have a cookie exchange on the lane. I am going to make Warren's Heart Attack Shortbreads. It's a good thing I only made them a couple of times a year as Warren just inhaled them.
Still having hard time breathing. Going back to hospital.
Prayers are with you Karen..best place to be when you are so unwell.. pneumonia can take forever to get rid of
Dianne, we have mega snow, will be icy now that it mild..snowing and mega wind..i just realized as I’m listening to the pump go on / off that although i got a battery for generator i did not prepare for extension cords..guess where 5hey are under the snow near the pond and on the side of the house where i was going to plug in outdoor tree..know what i will be doing first thing in the morning.
I can’t remember ever being 8n a cookie exchange Dianne, not so good with cookies..your sound delicious. I still have the fixings for those delicious frying pan balls, must get at them..
Pat, bet the neighbours were absolutely thrilled you were able to catch the dog, am sure you had to entice him.
Sharon left at noon to go to the vets 8n the city, made it to moonstone, about 15 minutes away and turned back..said she got Inuk to eat a few times today.
Ziggy laying next to me, not too concerned about the goings on of the world
Karen, sending our prayers.
I had pneumonia earlier this year. It is slow to heal, and literally knocks the wind out of you.
Keeping Sharon and Inuk in our prayers.
Pat, glad to hear you returned the dog, and found out the kids are in the same class.
Betty I have your weather on my phone on a screen with the rest of my family. I was shocked when I saw your temperature was 1. Then the low was going to be -12. If we had weather lik that, every pool pump in town would freeze and explode.
Karen, I am praying your breathing get easier and you are the road to feeling better. I also had pneumonia once and it took less than 6 hours to knock me on my butt.
Pat, you are my hero getting that puppy back to it's owner.
Betty, I am so sorry about Sharon's dog. It is heartbreaking. One minute they are eating and getting better and then they turn for the worse. I cannot believe you are out at that early hour shoveling "wet" snow. My brother's took my mother's shovels away so she could not shovel. But they also took her frying pans away, because she kept trying to burn down her house.
It is still warm in Las Vegas, 63, but cool down is on the way. I went to the Dr. today to get my prescriptions refilled and every crazy driver was on the freeway. People were going 90 mph and then some fool was in the middle lane going about 55. I just get in the middle lane and stay there but had to pull out onto the race track until I could get around the slow vehicle and just held my breath. Then I had to park a long way away from the entrance to the building and there have been so many pushing down seniors and grabbing their purses, that made me nervous. The world has gone crazy.
I was glad I did not have to carry her very far. No, the neighbors did not know that she had gotten out. It was clear how she got out. Someone left their side gate open.
Karen, so sorry you are not doing better. Maybe they have not found the right antibiotic yet for treatment.
Marie & I are headed back to Hermiston to help cousin but then can't return again until after Christmas. She has her daughter & family coming on the 19th and she has more surgery scheduled next Tuesday. The spot on her face is squamous cell cancer.
Morning from a winter wonderland.. starting my morning with prayers for Karen..
didn’t expect to find 2’ of snow waiting to be shovelled..had hoped Mother Nature would have given me another day to heal shoulder but not.
Shouldn’t have peaked out to see what was happening just after 3 so instead of going back to bed outside i went..snow much higher than my boots so my feet were frozen. While shovelling i had to do back deck staircase 4 times, tad of freezing rain as well so it just had to be done before being coated with ice.
Came in at 5, put my coat, hat, mitts in dryer and boots on radiator…might put them in dryer for a bit..
Enjoying hot coffee, shortly to make my 2nd
Will wait until plow comes to do my drive then i will shovel out the garbage bin area so i can get the cans to roadside.
No municipal plots have been out yet so i can almost guarantee today will be another snow day for the kids.
Guess Sharon it evens out, i could not take your heat but then my downfall is the shovelling.too funny about your mom’s shovel, if Greg was to do that they wouldn’t find me til spring. It’s taking your life in your hands when you get on these freeways..everyone is so in a hurry to get nowhere. Oh wow, dangerous indeed, so many people needing $$$, best you stay in your heavenly gardens and work with plants.
Pat you and Marie are a blessing to your cousin, she sure has her hands full with losing her husband, the cancer cells, moving…
Well i should make another coffee, some hot porridge to line my stomach, i will need more energy for rest of day..see a few house lights go on, are they in for a surprise.Gary across the street just started to warm up his car from inside, don’t think he will get anywhere.
I am OK
Good news Karen.
Good news Karen, praying you are improving..are you in the hospital or were you able to get meds..
You southerners are lucky to miss this blizzard and snowfall..i look out and am amazed..my boots are so wet that i went on back deck a d found my rubber boots, brought them in to warm up..i will put garbage bags over them and tie them at the knee in hopes i can get the shovelling done aga8n
I feel l8ke it should be noon hour
Betty, do be careful. I worry that with garbage bags over your boots they will be super slick. PLEASE tell me that you ALWAYS have your cell phone with you? What happens if you fall?? I wish there was a young person near you to take on these shoveling chores. They sure do not do your shoulder any favor.
I feel rotten this morning. LOADS of drainage down my throat and sore throat. I called Marie and she has the same stuff going on. Guess we are NOT going to Hermiston today. Nobody needs this stuff. I will try to get some cleaning and more Christmas sewing done. Likely I will spend more time napping than working.
Knew the neighbours were out and about when i did garbage bags, had to be done, needed the extension cords…i do not use the cel so there it sits, never think of it, will try.
Oh no Pat, that sounds terrible, if it continues best you get checked, with all going around you never know.
I started the guitar throw, have 2 base pieces on the Main fabric, before i continue i need to find the pattern piece for the wall mount that holds guitars.. hope i didn’t throw it away with the paper cutting trash..be nice to find it misplaced in a wrong zip lock bag.
Micro is telling me my soup is ready
Meant to say Jules the plow guy came, he wasn’t gone 10 minutes that the township plow passed by and 2’+ across the drive..just thought, oh well but Jules came back and opened it..so all clear but l8nda says they are calling fir snow later and into tomorrow
This message was edited Dec 7, 2021 12:46 PM
If you have thrown out the pattern piece for the mount, do you suppose you could appeal to the pattern company and ask for JUST that 1 piece???
Found it, was hanging over my cutting board wall because i didn’t have dark batiques..bought some but forgot placing it there but great idea..was over $50 us
