Betty - I felt like the kid who sees shadows at night & thinks it's monsters lol
Pat - my neighbour is Dave. My EX is Bob lol
I was away from home from 8:30 to 3pm - busy day. Got paperwork done & banking, and then choir practice, and mail outs to the agencies I needed to. Got through to an agency to change my status to Single aka separated. He's now been taken OFF my Blue Cross coverage.
I got a book in the mail from my counsellor, called "Getting Free, You can end abuse and take back your life" about breaking out of an abusive relationship

Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? Chat with friends, fireplace on, come join in..newcomers always welcome!
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I had a quiet, early dinner with my kids before they had to run off to in-laws houses for a second dinner.
Good for you Susan! Glad you accomplished so much, so quickly.
Lots of bears ahead for you, Pat. And, you can make a pattern out of a set of pieces so you can make more! And, both boys and girls love bears.
Dogs here are all doing good. So far this MOPP chemo protocol is working good for Sissy. She's been it almost 6 weeks, and no terrible side effects, other than she is losing her hair, she's more active and alert than she's been in a long time, and she's eating, she even gained back some of the weight she had lost.
Morning…stormy day here, seems to have stopped snowing..
Couldn’t sleep around 1:30am so got up and finished hand sewing on one of the memory throws, back to bed at 3:30am and fell asleep til 5am..back up and at it lol
Lordy, Debbie, almost a wonder drug, glad so far no side effects..had you knowledge of this drug before now? Glad you enjoyed your thanksgiving.
Dianne, how are you feeling today.. meant to say the other day that Kai was watchful over you when you had vertigo reminded my of my great niece who has seizures and they got a dog who senses her seizures and the love of the dog calmed her.
Wow Pat, Marie sure got a haul..bet clothing is amazing..$$ store has a lot of bears or i bet where you usually go in search of your dolls has some as well..will this be next years project.
Sharon, hope all is well, how is Cecil?
Susan, bet it’s good reading, likely something you should read over and over.i still can’t get my mind around the change with Bob..silly old men when they are flattered by younger woman.he has lost so much.
A few weeks ago i bought a hat at Dollarama, actually the quality was really good, it had a little dinosaur on it so this morning i embroidered Grayson’s name on it, spa stocking stuffer lol
Back to Santa’s workshop
These bears are like "Build-A-Bear" so nice quality and expensive to purchase. I don't know what company donated all this stuff we are happy to buy it at STEAL OF A DEAL type prices! Nope, NOT making patterns and making more bears! LOL....
Susan, I know Ex is Bob & neighbor is Dave, I am embarrassed that I typed wrong name!! I know which name I MEANT to type! LOL
There were few of us at Marie's for Tday. Adam, Andrea & kids all stayed home as the cousin's 2 year old that they had dinner with on Wednesday night tested positive THAT night!!!
Betty, that quilt is GORGEOUS! What a beautiful mix of shirts & photo blocks & embroidery. Somebody is going to be over the moon happy with that gift.
I hope so Pat..not sure what the lady is expecting.. not to be embarrassed about name, i do it all the time, I’m even lucky i remember a name lol
Lordy, here is hoping nobody becomes really ill.. numbers are going up here as well, they are asking that people be cautious over the holidays..next week will be booster time, will make appt.
Anxious to see what you do with the clothing and yes, i took the boys to build a bear years ago and it sure wasn’t cheap..if i have time might look for what i need to make Grayson a teddy for Christmas.
Still snowing here.. i want to go to town but weather is changing, every time i come upstairs it’s surprise, surprise! If it weren’t the fact i had something in mind for my sewing boys tomorrow i would go but i need a few things.. hate going out 8n the winter because i can only wear a light cover up because of my neck grrrr
Best i remotely start my car, let it warm up and go..
Please reassure me that you CARRY in your car warmer coat etc "Just in case".
"Black Friday" is such a shopping nightmare, I can't force myself to go shopping for anything. I will stay home & sew. There are several sewing projects I need to get done & some need to get IN the mail as well so need to get on it.
Yes I do Pat (wink)
Yes i imagine if things aren’t mailed shortly it will be too late to get to its destination.. glad i do not have any to mail.
Omg omg big time, Marie brought me troupes of sweets, in fact she brought one for mom, Sharon and aunt Muriel, anyway there was one kind to die for so she gave me list of ingredients for me to get and she would come over one day and show me how, well i hardly bought anything and bill was a tad over $30.. think i will go to bakery and buy a tray..lol. She was going to come over one day and we would make it but i think i will ask her to come closer to Christmas so they will be fresh.
Did go shop, with all publicity about Black Friday here the stores were almost empty..guess one can order on-line and save the hassle.
Dianne, heard on the news that Kingston is going to put bans Limits on gatherings again due to increase in numbers in your region..that will put a damper on Christmas gatherings
Had to watch the roads but other than hip and shoulder aching from carrying bags i did fine..was going to get a cheeseburger at Walmart McDonald’s but i thought not, would spoil my supper..what do i do?? Unload groceries and climb into bed but my tummy says up you go so will go cook the pork souvlaki meal before i have to throw it in garbage.
Want to get up and do so but Ziggy is so comfy beside me i don’t want to disturb him, guess i will starve
Totally appalling, isn't it?
I got the wall hanging pieced today & will try to quilt & bind it yet tonight so I can get it mailed off to Dana (oldest son). It will cover the hot water closet in his game room. I am disappointed that the company made 12.5 blocks but made a margin bigger than 1/4 inch. I had cut everything for 1/4 inch seam allowance so in some cases a little of the black margin shows. Oh well. Just something for me to pay attention to when I make something that is more important to me.
Morning while it’s still morning..lol
Sunshine day, glad it is as Sharon had to go north of Sudbury 3 1/2 hr drive one way to pick up Paris after her breeding then has to come home and drive an hour to Cookstown to meet up with the lady who will board her for a few weeks..i offered to go with her as she will be tired, shoulder extra bad today but am sure i can at least drive one way to give her a rest besides drop for is right next door to a fabric shop. 😜
Pat that is so annoying, i hate patterns that also say ‘scant 1/4”
Regardless am sure it will be well received..hot water heater will love you
Evan and Mason were here, evans grandmother loves plaid, when i told her $$ for yardage she almost chocked so she ordered napkins premodern and Evan used accuquilt cutter and cut trees..appliquéd 2 and said it was a lot of work and would do other 4 next week…if he only knew the work in quilting
Mason didn’t have anything so i had a placemat that he used and made a pillow, he was fascinated with how to cut the snowflake, did a great job with raw edge sewing..i am impressed..
Usually Ezra is here by now, perhaps he is not coming..wish parents would let me know
Those boys are having so much fun!!! And making gifts, how cool is that?
I finally got the binding on a quilt I made for practice with the long arm 2 years ago. It is finding new home with 5 YO girl in need of Christmas gifts. Remember YEARS ago when we did the 2.5 inch fabric exchange? This is one of two blankets I made with those.
I got Dana's wall hanging done & ready to mail. .
Deviled eggs made and on my way to Yakima (1.5 hour away) to have dinner with Ben's brother, daughters etc.
Morning, snowing in my neck of the woods..brrrr
Good day to stay at home and catch up on projects
Lordy Lindakay, going to call you a human quilting machine..i am partial to the Fall one and yes of course the walk across Texas
Now are all of these quilts for sale or on show display?
Have Joyce’s slow cooker roast on with veggies, I’ve been up so early that i think it’s lunch and smelling that roast cooking i need to eat something…Marie brought me more sweets, hmmm instead of keeping it for supper maybe I’ll make a hot chocolate and have a piece lol
I would say i have 1/2 the 2nd memory quilt quilted, work a bit, rest my shoulder a bit..goal today is it to have the inner area quilted so tonight i can mark border sign.,tomorrow out binding on so i can hand sew..would be nice if mom’s plans for me to bring aunt Muriel to Cookstown that maybe i could call the lady who wants these done and lives in the city to meet me there but first small steps right?
All the Victorian Santa’s are cut and pressed, i painted the runners vs stained them as staining would be such a chore for the little ones Sunday, hoping to work in today a sleigh prototype and see how long it will take for the paint to dry
Ther than that, just enjoying my Sunday
What are you all doing?..
Did you all have left overs to eat up today??
Would the boys agree to paint their wood & let it dry for NEXT week, while working on another project? I know they are accustomed to walking out with finished project but paint drying takes time!
Linda, I had NO idea you had made so many of the kaleidoscope blocks! WOW, all nine of those are YOURS??? GOODNESS girl! You are really sewing up a storm, really pretty.
I REALLY enjoyed the visit with family yesterday. Ben's Ex wasn't there & that surely helped. I need to work on my forgiveness skills. All that stuff was between them years ago and I should not let her get under my skin.
Ben's nieces's home was decorated so cute. She has really been working on it. Not easy as a single young woman on limited income & working full time. Her parents have really helped with free labor when she bought this home 5 years ago.
Yes they are all quilts I have made.
I put them in the show, and if someone makes a decent offer I will sell them. Quilts will be on display till the end of December
Those quilts are beautiful. Unbelievable amount of time involved.
Cecil is still with me but fading fast. I really did not think he would live through the night last night. Emma, his sister, is starting to notice that there is something wrong.
My son and his family are here for Thanksgiving from Spokane. First time in 12 years that both children have been here for Thanksgiving. They leave Monday night.
Daughter only has 2 of the 5 children home. Sarah, who lives, in St Louis is expecting her baby second week of December. It is a boy. Second great-grandchild.
Vern son, Brian, is still living with me. Thy have not even started on tearing down the fire damage part of the condo area. He will probably be here close to 6 months or more.
Our weather is in the low 70s and Tuesday we are suppose to be 77. Fantastic weather.
Morning, woke for washroom visit and look out and there had been some a good downfall of snow so 4:15am i was out doing my part of the shovelling, plow an hasn’t been yet.
Sorry to hear about Cecil Sharon, must be difficult watching fail. Glad you have company with you p, helps some what. Vern’s son is lucky to have had a place to stay during this process but i image some of the others are in dire need of accommodations, great weather fir you but i think you might find it on cold side?
Lindakay let’s hope you get offers, you’ve many stunning quilts, are yours all quilted now? fabric store had quilts on sale that they had displayed for their workshops, Jen was saying few buy them, they feel for $100 and under they can get a beautiful commercially done quilt and shams and if they decide to change decor they haven’t lot a lot.
Feeling eyes getting heavier as I’m typing so best i move before i spend the day napping
Pat these are different kids, just like snowman hat their parent book their kids in, wither morning class or afternoon class.. I’ve 8 registered for morning class and starting to fill in afternoon class so no, would work, doesn’t take me long to roller a Greg on both sides of cutting board, soon to be sleigh in order to smoosh the top, think many of you gals did this project.
Sharon, so glad to hear you got to have family for Thanksgiving. I hope your living arrangements with Brian are working out for both of you. Sorry to hear Cecil is failing, so sad.
Calling it a day..kept myself active .. just had my bath at 4:30 and climbed into bed.. early for some but some don’t get up at 4:00 lol
Got binding on 2nd memory quilt, have some tweaking to do on inner squares bu will have them complete by tomorrow night.
Took quick ride into midland for sleigh supplies, more people shopping today Cyber Monday than Black Friday.
An old friend passed away, Roger and i had great times with Betty and Duncan’s..always sad before Christmas
Heated supper in micro, beside my bed waiting to be eaten
Gab in the morning Lord willing
Sorry to hear about Cecil Sharon. Keeping you both in our prayers.
4 if the quilts are complete, I will get the others quilted after the show. End of December.
A lot of people buy the store bought ones, but my neighbor learned, they aren't made as good as one handmade.
Betty, you are staying busy with all those kids.
Morning, light snow..was out shovelling basement entrance and back steps
mentioned to mom that i wasn’t doing the front as nobody comes in through front in winter she proceeded to tell me that wasn’t good for her, she goes out front door to put Bella out..we will see, just means a lot of work for 4-5 days at Christmas.
Lindakay she is right but a lot don’t have $$$ to buy hand made, especially here in Canada where we are paying $20 a meter and batting so overpriced.a lot of people like buying cheap so they can just rid of boughten ones once they tire of them, change in their colour scheme etc
Girls sew not sure they were coming today, June because of Alex and Pat because of weather and having all her hand sewn gifts done
Kind of hope they don’t so i can say ‘fini’ today to those memory quilts
What are you all up to today?
Betty, can you place salt on the area to the door, and let it melt?
Back to the quilt shop to finish customers quilts for Christmas.
Sister & I are headed back to Hermiston to help our cousin with sorting and clearing her house so she can put it up for sale.
not sure lindakay, the fron deck is covered but it it seems the wind creates a turbulence and a lot of snow gathers..just too much snow, if it wasn’t into snow season I’d have a set up enclosure like the back deck. Your trip to quilt shop, to quit yours or others
Pat, wonderful you and Marie are helping your cousin, if she sells will she move closer to you?
Inuk, Sharon’s show Dg is sick, she rushed hi in this morning..bleeding through penis
The did X-rays, testing and have made mri appt for Friday..don’t know how she will deal with his loss should something happen, he has been her life.
Had a tasty roast beef sandwich and climbed into bed..tired
Cecil was guided over the Rainbow Bridge at noon. I am sure Vern and my Mom were waiting there all morning. Many friends and family stopped by and it was a beautiful experience. He was just so sick but still sweet.
My son and his family are back in Spokane. Jacob is back in Idaho. Corbin is in Miami on a photo shoot. He is their with an advertising couple from New Port, Ca. They are publicizing the home in Florida that is listed for sale for 33 million dollars that is owned by a German Shepard. I will have more details when he gets home. Ethan is still in Hawaii. He didn't come home for Thanksgiving because flights were so expensive. He will be home for Christmas. The two girls Hannah and Sarah spent Thanksgiving together in St. Louis. Sarah is expecting here 2nd baby second week of December. (This covers all of my daughter's children).
Weather is still in the 70s.
I am sorry Betty, but I would tell your mother if she wants the front area decorated, to do it herself. You have and are doing enough.
Love to you all.
what did I learn today? I learned that, even with all the grounds I have for divorce, the courts could have me sell my home for division of property because I can't afford to buy him out. If he chooses to be rotten, I don't know where I would live. I've worked so hard to be a part of this community.
I am quilting for customers. 3 more to do before Christmas.
Oh Susan, that is so difficult. I hope this division of property can be done more fairly so you don't have to sell your home.
No, our cousin is hoping to move to AZ. Frankly she just isn't using a lot of sense about this move. She is keeping WAY too much stuff. She wanted to keep all of her horse magazines & more (some dating to 1993). There has been a lot going on for years, between breast cancer, an aneurism in the brain that she was lucky to survive, alcoholic husband etc, etc. (he just died a few weeks ago).
Sharon, I am sorry about the loss of Cecil. He is in a MUCH better place, free of pain. I am glad you had lots of support.
Inuk has been sick off & on for some time hasn't he? And didn't he become diabetic a year or so ago? This will be a terrible loss for your sister.
Linda, 3 more, and they won't take on more will they? Will you be doing the binding as well?
I am so sorry for your loss Sharon. No matter that we know it's coming, it's still difficult.
Prayers Inuk pulls through whatever health issue he is having.
I'm sorry for all you're going through Susan. Prayers that a resolution can be reached that would leave you in your home.
Morning, another snow flakes coming my way, good time to push forward on my projects.
Sharon I am so very sorry to hear that Cecil has passed on and that you were not alone..Lordy you have family all over the globe, so hard to get all together in one place. 33 million, amazes me, but then when you think we are seeing average homes in out for 1-2million for what they paid a few thousands years ago, just amazes me.
Susan, big sigh.. the way that Bob has been acting for sure he will want his portion of the house.are there any apartments geared on income that you could start researching? Each day it seems to feel you are making headway then boom, another think to overcome. Hugs
Rule of thumb when speaking to those who offer support after the death of someone is to do nothing fir a year..let things settle…your cousin is like my mom, if she moved there would be no purging, everything would have to be packed.
I am suppose to go pick Brian us at 10and he will work for me doing all those little things i should not do or cannot do, he is a quick worker so am sure 1 day will do it.
Breakfast calling my name..
Just lost my post I'll BBL.
Sharon my sincere condolences of the passing of Cecil. He lived a blessed life with you.
My former contractor is coming over today. He needs a shirt altered to add pockets to accommodate heart monitor etc. I don't know what all he has but it's more than the stuff that they put on you to "follow you" for a testing period. I guess they can sell you a shirt that would work for most people, He is still working and needs all those wires etc INSIDE this shirt, safely out of the way. He mentioned he could refer LOTS of people if I was interested in the work. We'll see, it sounds like something I would be interested in. Yes, I could earn a little money sewing but more importantly it would be offering a service that is currently not available to people in need.
Betty I read an article in yesterday's Toronto Star about the cost of insurance for plow drivers. One guy's insurance was going up $5000. The insurance hike is for all of Ontario wherever you live. One fellow spoke to his agent and tried to explain that plow drivers in big cities have far more chances of accidents and damage to property than someone who would say near me. No go - so there will be a lot less people willing to pay the insurance cost. My lane has our plow guy locked down - he has been doing the lane for over 20 years.
Sharon my sincerest condolences on the passing of Cecil. He lived a blessed life surrounded by love and care.
Any news on Inuk ?
We walked this morning and it was just beautiful. I love seeing animal paw prints in fresh snow. It just shows how busy the woods actually are.
There are several Dianne here who gave up plowing because of insurance, Andre did my drive for 18 years, i will miss him..i pay by the season, hopefully he will be dependable. Going to be hard for a lot of seniors, those who will continue plowing can only do so many drives and certainly few can do their own, could mean that some seniors will have to move because of it. I saw a gentleman who posted and i saw him pass by Monday who has a 4x4 with a blade, i will keep his number as if it’s a really heavy downfall he could come do the back area i keep clean for basement and deck entrance..quite mild today!
Have to give Sharon a call make sure that Brian didn’t forget to bring in my turkey, i no room in freezers and he said his mom did.
I thought he was staying all day but not..he was in and out..did do the generator battery though..i will have to remember next in town to get more gas.
Sharon’s Inuk is getting mri Friday, sleeping all the time right now. I’d say that his organs are shutting down, she has never let any of her dogs suffer so know when she feels it’s time Inuk will go over the rainbow bridge.
Pat, sounds like quite the job, custom work for sure..am sure you will do a great job
I, other than a few tweaks am finished of the 2 memory quilts.. finally!
I will call her in the morning and let her know. Hope she will be happy with them, if not oh well lol
Needed milk and bread, have roast beef and veggies in the Refrigerator that should be eaten but the garlic chicken and wedgies were freshly baked that home they came.
Go8ng to vpclear off my coffee table, get a old sheet i use for painting and willbasecoatthe boards for tops of the sleighs, get that behind me
So hard, we love our pets so dearly and they do not live forever.
I wonder if Trever is going to be doing any snow plow work here. Last year he would not have enough business to be worth his time or cost. The winter we had a couple years ago, the poor guy plowed, napped, ate and went back out, 24/7, it was a SNOWY winter for us! Trever didn't get more than a few hours a sleep trying to keep up.
https://www.etsy.com/search?q=lvad%20shirt&ref=auto-1 That gives you a view or two of the product I will be changing up to meet his needs. He forgot to bring the 2nd shirt and I was not willing to work on Tshirt fabric. I just don't think he'd be happy with the outcome. I will purchase some performance fabric and make it from scratch rather than trying to remake/ adjust what he has. I think I can create a shirt that will meet his needs better than what is currently available. He wants all the hoses and lines INSIDE the shirt so they can't get snagged. Also the big middle "box" moved over closer to under the left one, OUT of his way.
Yes, I do bindings on every quilt. I charge $20.00 extra for bindings, and no one complains of the price.
That's a lot of money for those shirts.
Betty - there's no way that I'm moving. For one thing, I couldn't possibly get a cheaper place to live. My home is paid for and the lot rent is only $365/month. Yeah, I pay for utilities, etc, but even so - places that have that included are few & their rents would go upwards of $1,000. Can't afford that, or the cost of the move. So, here I squat. If he wants $$, he'll have to take what he can get (half the value of home & contents, and he won't want to wait. I suspect he'll take items & sell them to get funds. Fighting for sale & proceeds would take time & money. He won't want to wait. I'm hoping that we can talk & come to a reasonable decision. Also, none of this would take place until Next November 9th when the divorce would become final.
Hummm.... here in the states, all of that is decided BEFORE the divorce starts the "final waiting period". My EX had to agree to the terms before our waiting period began. I don't know ANYTHING about Canadian law, and even each of the states here in US vary to 1 degree or another, especially on the waiting period from filing to finalization.
Several of my friends went through a divorce years ago. The ladies owned the home, not him. The court said she had to sell the home and give him half. One lady sold her home for $1000.00 to a dear friend. A year after the divorce was final she bought it back.
Another lady told the court, the house was hers, long before they got married. His name was never on the deed, and was able to keep her home.
