I’m not happy, look at tonight’s forecast

Wouldn’t you know i live where the pink/purple area is..right in my area

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Oh Betty!!! Your place is going to look like North Pole at this rate!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, please be careful. You're not listening to your doctor that's says don't use that arm.
Pat, hope you are feeling better soon. Keep an eye on your symptoms.
Karen, sure hope you are on the mend.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I again looked at Betty;s weather and her high was 1. Hard to get my mind around.

My cell phone started blasting messages abut 7:30 this morning. One right after another. I said to myself, "Sarah must have had her baby". I was right. George Henri, weighed 8 lbs and 9oz. That is a big baby for this family. My daughter Tracy is on her way as I type. Baby was 10 days early. Two hours of labor and 3 pushes.

Then Grandson, Jacob, got his mission call papers today and he is serving his mission in Tucson, AZ. Leaves Jan 25th. So had a family zoom call while he opened his papers. We are very happy he is staying in the US and also happy he is not gong to California.

Karen, I am so pleased you are getting better.

Betty, you are not listening to your body or your doctor.

Pat sorry you have the crud. .

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good morning all, up again at 3:30 but good news is it did not snow, hurrahhh

Congratulations on your news Sharon, welcome to the world George Henri..that is quite the weight. Now she can rest, not worry about having the baby right at Christmas.congrats Jacob as well, quick flight for visits from Arizona..all happy news.

Lindakay, sure wish I could rest the shoulder/arm bit i would be snowed in and not able to come out til spring..Greg work in Barrie, long hours right now, travels a lot pricing jobs to keep his men working, then he has a large place to plow out as well so
I will manage.i rather enjoy shovelling when it’s not a few feet of snow almost every day for 3 days.

Pat are you and Marie feeling better today

Karen are you doing better and home?

Deb your area usually has quite a bit of snow, are you snowed in?

Dianne, i will go check weather in your region, hope it passed you by.

Sitting enjoying my coffee and warming up

I did start the car twice, live electric start, then went out and cleaned all the snow off of it and moved it to other side of drive , cleaned where those big bins are, today I’ll move them to the back area where i clean anyway…once car was moved it left quite a snowbank, at edge where he poised, left it as i am sure he will come back to tidy it up, at least i hope so..so miss my Andrew, knew the job he did with plowing, this guy seems in and out all mishap, Andrew’s drive was so cleaned and edged..😢
I shouldn’t complain, at least he took on plowing and it has snowed continually for 3 days

Jeff’s birthday today, 52, today until New Year’s Day I have 2 boys both 52

Will work on guitar quilt for a tad

Welcome George Henri. Congrats to all.

Even after the last debachle, I considered going back to ER last night. Decided to leave it up to fate and I'm still here this morning. Onward and upward. Sleep doesn't seem to help much. I don't get much in a stretch. Exhausted, hard to breathe.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Karen, that has to frustrating and scary.

Betty, Finding someone, anyone, to do the plowing right now seems like a BIG project. I am sorry your new guy is not as good as Andrew was.

Sharon, Congratulations on your new grandchild and your grandson's mission call.

Linda, I hope work continues to be satisfying. I used to tease that when I retired, I would work a couple of days a week in a quilt shop (and NEVER bring home a paycheck!)

Victoria Harbour, ON

OK maybe you shouldn’t leave it to fate, one more trip to emerge just to make sure that pneumonia hasn’t spread further causing more damage…please, please, pretty please!

Yes, lindaakay has the ideal job..

Snowing and blowing, did get out again but i am done in, can’t do anymore..I’m in bed with neocitron, feel feverish and runny nose..hopefully tomorrow i will i will be ready to take next bout of shovelling… want to be A ok Friday afternoon for my booster vaccine, had to cancel the other day because of storm.

I did a bit on Jeff’s quilt, not liking it, maybe way he gives instruction..maybe tomorrow i can finish guitar #1

Karen, please listen to your body, and go back to the ER. Don't let it wait.
Congrats on the new baby. Sounds like he is nice and healthy.

Blizzard, yuk

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

It was a beautiful day here today. Last night it rained. Suppose o rain tomorrow but now they are saying it is only going to be in the mountains.

Daughter posted a video today with Eloise Grace meeting her new baby brother. She had such a shocked look on her face and totally dumbfounded. But was very happy because she had grandma an mom an dad all on the same couch with this thing called a brother. She kept saying baby. then she wanted her daddy to take him but as soon as he did, she wanted him back.

Betty, God Bless you and your poor arm and shoulder. Sorry about your blizzard. Karen, please be careful.

Linda, how is everything in crazy Texas. Texas is a problem for the Biden group. Suing you guys for everything. Big bad Texas. You go you guys.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Things on the border are still crazy. Not a whole lot of news coming out lately. Monday was supposed to be the day the stay in Mexico was supposed to take effect. But the border agents are still busy running down all those still trying to sneak across.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning..enjoying a hot chocolate..beautiful brilliant red sunrise

Prayers for Karen and Susan..

praise the Lord although it was stormy only about 6” fell and i easily got that done..neocitron helped, I’ll settle in this morning and take another.

It’s suppose be be mid 50’s Saturday, omg that is all we need, we will be flooding for sure.

Sharon, before you know it she will carry him around like a dipole..the concept of mom going away for a day then coming home with a baby brother must baffle their little brains.

Off to start a new stop monogrammed towels then upstairs and play with guitar throw

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

OK I give....made an appointment for this morning.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good girl..anxious for update

Omg,,omg, omg.. went to Foodland, there coming back was a young man who had advertised he would do yards cheap , i stopped and asked him that although my driveway is being done, i need behind the house done

He came over looked at it and said he would look after me, his face was sooo frozen , he looked at it, said he would do it, i said anything over 6” to please do..for $10 a shot he does it ..i had already done my area so he did the front entrance area (will make mom happy) i asked why so cheap, he said most are seniors and he wants to help..i gave him one of those neck warmers and gave it to him, he was over the top, said i have a special price lol, i said no $10 he isn’t even making $$$$

He even cleared the pathway mom wanted done for us8ng front door to let her dog out

Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah, all is well in my neighbourhood

Some the the best things happen by chance. Now put your shovel away and let him handle it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

He just came back with shovel and did front steps, nice man ,38, hard life..came in and we chatted..i was peeling potatoes and of course bent over zinc because shoulder won’t cooperate, said I’m the sweetest old lady lol a d he will make sure i am looked after…

Hmmm if it comes to pass I’ve been blessed with earthly angel

You have no idea what it means to me, i feel like weight of the world has been lifted.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Awww Betty so glad you found an angel to cover your need.

I really went to the Dr. today because I was afraid of getting sicker on the week-end. I am actually feeling better this afternoon and Dr. confirmed I am healing, however slowly. he sent me for x ray and blood work. His nurse then called and wanted me to go back tomorrow for another draw. I told her to send the info to my gastro dr. I had been scheduled for an EGD but had to cancel as I was in the hosp.
She was not happy and I'm sure primary will not be either BUT, They have me seeing a gastro so he has to be in charge of this part of me. I've had to have the same discussion with my oncologist. He is in charge of the leukemia but keeps nibbying in on the G.A.V.E.. They can all be notified but Gastro is the chief in this case. They all start giving different orders and I get all confused as to who says what.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you went Karen..now to continue healing..I am so glad we have one system here, i often hear of all the insurance companies, who pays what when and i think I’d stay home rather than try and figure it out..Linda is feeling a tad better Karen, she goes back on the 28th for them to out her under and check to what extend the bleeding is,,she has been getting blood and iron so here is hoping this time she gets it done she won’t get as sick.

Lady came for her memory quilts, she thought they were wonderful, cried when she read the note in the jeans pocket i did..love getting the Christmas ornaments filled with hubbies clothing pieces as well. Glad they are behind me and gone!

I’m very tired tonight so going to eat then to bed with neocitron..helped last night
I’ll sleep well as i won’t have to shovel tomorrow lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Did a bit more on the guitar

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, I am sooooo excited for you!!! FINALLY you have someone to shovel. I do hope he turns out to be dependable and honest. I have no doubt the weight of the world became MUCH lighter!! (Might even make your shoulder feel better at just the thought of some help!! LOL)

Karen, I told my Primary Care physician that I sometimes wanted to put all the specialist in the room and let them duke it out! Each one seems to only care about their specialty and not see the big picture for the patient.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Happy you found someone to help with your shoveling, Betty. So far we haven't had any measureable snow. Just a light dusting that melted right away a couple of times. I wouldn't mind having a nice snow before Christmas, but, they're talking about it maybe getting up to 60 by the middle of next week.

How is Inuk doing? Another change in chemo protocols for my Sissy. It seems like she responds well for a month or so, then the lymphoma returns.

Glad you are on the mend, Karen, even if it is slow.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, so glad to hear you found someone to do shoveling for you.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, if one can possible imagine we have a rain/wind warning on for our region and think they say in the 50’s.. wonder how much of the snow will be gone if all but where oh where will it go? My basement?? Big sigh

Karen how are you today, feel stronger?

Deb, hope you get a few flakes Christmas Eve..sorry Sissy has to go through yet another round of chemo..Inuk was at his vets yesterday, she provided him with meds, 120 days worth so told Sharon that was a sign that she expected him to do well..however, he didn’t have a good night, vet thinks he has had another mini stroke..think Sharon will bring him Monday unless she sees a big improvement which vet thought she would.

I was just about ready to go to bed about 5 last night and a knock came to the door, it was Chris who picked up her memory quilts, she had a gift bag and card for me…lovely Christmas lantern with snow people. I will pick up batteries when i am in town today. There is a big globe type light under the top, hmmmm maybe it will make it look like snow is falling..was nice of her… best i buy another tote to store yet more decorations.

Off to make a coffee, start a new set of bath towels, monogram “T” and work on guitar guilt (bad idea) lol

I feel much better today. Bryan brought up the recliner for me and I only got up once through the night. Can't remember the last time I slept so well.
Optimistically hoping I will be able to sew again Monday. I know I won't get done in time but oh well cards will go out when they go out.
Walt went with me into Drs. office yester as I still totter a bit. This is our new Dr. He sees us both but had not put us together as a couple so he was surprised.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Great news Karen, glad you got the recliner in your room, it adjust to fit your breathing needs..I’m sure everyone understands and wouldn’t want you sewing until doctor says no more pneumonia

Rain hasn’t started as yet, think i will go to town about 1:30, get all my errands done then be at pharmacy for 3:30..parking is an issue so might just go to cafe a few doors down from it and enjoy a cup until it’s time.

Verona, ON

It has been raining here for a few hours and is supposed to do so overnight and most of the day tomorrow. I dread the lane first thing in the morning as it will have frozen overnight. I do have to go out but will wait until around noon. Our drug store closes at 2 pm on Sat. and is closed Sun.

Karen I am so glad you are feeling a bit better - let that continue.

Betty I am happy you have found someone to help you. I don't want to be a downer but you should check him out to make sure he is what he presents as to you. An elderly lady (in her 80's) in a village near me was taken advantage of by someone who offered her services. She ended up out thousands of dollars.

Kai is wild today. The rain makes it difficult to get him exercised enough to take some of the wind out of his sails. Chaos just gives Kai the side eye when he has had enough of the antics.

Pat how are you feeling ? Were you able to shake your cold ?

Susan how are you managing ? You are in my prayers.

*Sigh* Nyla is here. I've taken her back 3 times this week. She is such a sweet girl and deserves to be loved and paid attention.

LK how goes your job ?

Betty I love the guitars - your son will be thrilled.

Sorry for the double post. DG won't let me remove 1 of the posts.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm managing, Dianne. Some days are quieter than others, and some are scarier than others, but I'm strong, tough, and RIGHT. I will weather this one way or another.

Thanks for keeping me in your prayers, Betty & Dianne.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening, omg it’s so mild, just got back from getting my booster and doing some shopping.

Dianne we have a local internet hub where everyone is posting daily, he is fine, has had some issues mentally Re loss of job and Covid but he does so many driveways, lives up the street so i hope he is fine

We have a severe storm brewing.. starting around 11, torrential rain/high winds and mild temps.. add 3’ snowbanks and we’ll likely i will be in trouble Re flooding.. going to set my alarm every hour so i can check things,out..they are warning about power outage because of rain so my being on watch is a must. I came home in the fog tonight..is sooo mild.

Dianne can you just call neighbours to come get Nyla or do you have to bring her home.

Omg, talk about increases in food, hard to believe

Turkey’s were about $70-$90, i bought a small ham and it was $35. I do not know how some families survive.. what Walmart had on sale had already been bought out..think people are stocking up again..glad that i just need veggies to make Christmas meal if i am cooking.

Karen how did your day go

Just a lazy day today. Moving equals coughing so...

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sending prayers for you all:
Karen to get better soon.
Betty for the blessing of good help, for the best possible outcome for your sister Sharon & her beloved Inuk.
Susan for strength and peace in this difficult time.
Dianne that your furries will continue to bless your life, including your "wild one" Kai. That Nyla's family will give her the care & love she needs or be generous & kind and rehome her to a deserving family.
LindaK, that you continue to find joy in your work and safety in your surroundings.
Sharon, that you will find comfort with the knowledge that Cecil had the best possible home while here on Earth.
Deb, that you will continue to find successful treatment for your Sissy. It's so hard when our furbabies have medical needs.

My monster child is sitting on my cutting table, batting an ink pen around. He'll give it up when he finally gets it off the table and under a desk where he can't reach it. Ink pens, fabric markers: Stanley's favorite toys!

Still not feeling great. If I am not careful, I will end up with UTI from dehydration. I have a grocery order to pick up at 7 tonight. It will have more fluids and that will be helpful. I am not very successful in getting water down. Plain water frequently makes me nauseous.

I went to the post office and messed up. I meant to get FLAT rate boxes and got regular priority boxes. Darn it... my error means another trip.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Emma and I are sitting in my bedroom with the gas fireplace going. Just a warm and comfortable place to be. She and I brought home Cecil's ashes home after her grooming. I recorded a few masterpiece theater on PBS that I am going to enjoy. I fell in the garage a few days ago, missing a step up about three feet from the door. I fell forward and stretched out my right arm. Small bruise on my right knee and nothing else. That was the case until yesterday when a muscle just under my right breast and into my arm pit started hurting every time I move my right arm. Yesterday it was even hurting when I breathed. Today seemed to be getting better. Either a deep bruise or a stretched muscle. First time I have fallen in a long time.

Karen, I am delighted you are feeling better.

Betty I had the same concerns as Dianne. I was wondering if this young man was for real and not just looking for some one to rip off. I know shame on us but please check him out. What got my attention is no one here will work for $10 per hr. Even illegal want at least $15

I am praying Sharon's dog improves. Cecil's vet sent home two months worth of drugs and he only lasted about 3 weeks.

Susan, I am so hoping you are staying with warm and happy thoughts. That helps you get through times like this. Christmas is a sad time for many individuals and with this happening, it makes it worse. Everyone has their secret thoughts at Christmas. Make your's happy thoughts. You have come a long way since you joined us and we are all very proud of you. Do not let this jerk take away your warm heart and spirit.

Betty, that is a lovey gift. Pat, I am hoping you are over the crud.

Time for Emma's walk. I will return.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I went to Costco today to pick up some prescriptions. I was at the counter getting my prescriptions and all of sudden there was a commotion. Two women, middle age, ready to go at it, masks pulled down. The man three carts yelled at them and told them to knock it off, It was Christmas. Then everyone calmed down. I told the clerk I hd never seen anything like that and she said it happens all the time.

Costco had so many thing I wanted to have that I do not eat. I bought them and gave ll of it to the guards. Not sweets, fine cold cuts and cheeses. I looked at the meat and was totally shocked at the prices.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Burning urine & some blood in the urine. Darn it. Read up a little on home treatment and diet etc, ya, I am NOT doing myself any favors lately with my choices. Guess I need to start sucking down that water without any enhancements, no diet pop or sugary stuff. Also recommended no carbonation, caffeine (my orange pop has some) or artificial sweeteners. THIS is not going to be fun!!! LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Lordy girls, life is not being kind to us
Prayers for all of you.
Falls, pneumonia and uti’s go away

Sharon, i was listening to the news and they were saying that people are looking for confrontation, especially with driving.think there are 2 categories, those who are really trying to show kindness during these trying times or those displaying anger..know which category we are.

It’s raining right now, looking at radar and the worse of the night will be around 4-6 so I’m waiting

Adding

Spoke with Jamie next door who also owns the pizzeria, the young man that offered to drive is a friend of his brothers and is ok..he lived in foster homes 7 in total, never had a family, mis doing ok no and wants to pay it back so feel confident.

What take me 2 hrs will only take him 10-15 minutes at most
I will be cautious though

Looked at our forecast next 14 days..if weathermen are right we might have a green Christmas, image after all that snow

Won’t hurt my feelings but Greg won’t be happy, picked up his new snowmobile last Saturday..he will and to contend with he and Jeff flying to Newfoundland in the new year to enjoy snowmobiling
