Yes, it's like looking at a catalog picture and you fall in love with the shirt only to discover it's the pants they are selling & they don't give you any resource information for buying the SHIRT!!
Pics of the nightgown for Karina with matching nightgown for her doll. Marie & I save a doll with no hair for our model. it makes taking clothes on & off easier. I also made sleep pants and shorts out of the same fabric. She desperately wanted Elsia sleepwear and we could not find any. Finding it in fabric that wasn't either regular cotton or flannel was not easy either! This is a nice quality stretch fabric. NICE to work with.

Shaking my head, if they can’t provide the product then don’t do a piece, i know it’s to get ideas but…

She will,so,love it Pat..

Well this morning Sharon and i went to the Pancake house and had breakfast, both ordered canadian omelette, both couldn’t eat a bite more so took a large containers home, think,I’ll eat a bit tonight and have a big breakfast tomorrow

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

WOW, 3 meals in one! That makes your meal much more affordable!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Pancakes sound really good to me right now. Maybe make some in the morning.

Morning, overcast but nice day for shopping..have almost all i need for Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday but always last minute things..want to visit with niece, Darlene (who spoiling me again, says she has an iPad screen protector she ordered from Amazon for me.

Almost forgot i have breakfast in the refrigerator, best i warm it up before i get to stores and am hungry.

Been sitting a few hours playing cut outs, making kit for 2 I’m making as Xmas gifts and an extra for Pat..getting to the nitty gritty so will finish them tonight.

My stomach has been churning since early morning, I’ve a feeling that each time i think a car might be pulling into the drive that it will be very bad news..even wait for footsteps up the deck..isn’t that sad. Big sigh

An awful feeling

I woke up to rain. I went to bed at 9:30. Trying to get up earlier in the day. No luck. 10:30 rolled around and still awake. So I awoke again at 9. No real reason to get up earlier except in the summer it is easier to work in the garden before it gets hot.

My daughter has been here yesterday and today sanding and painting cabinets that Vern marked up with his wheelchair. She said it was driving her crazy. It does look so much nicer.
Betty that feeling of doom is hard to ignore. I had it a few months ago but it never came to anything. Had to come inside because mow and blow guys showed up.

Brian wanted to watch baseball in the house and the TV in the great room will not work. Turns on but will not pull up Direct TV. All other TV's work. 2 are in my bedroom area and one outside. He says it is too cold outside to watch and I agree. Someone pressed the wrong button, and it wasn't me. The dogs did it. My SIL will come over and see if he can determine what happened.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

LOL... don't you just LOVE technology Sharon!!! (NOT!) I have been using my son & DIL's internet since they interrupted mine almost a month ago. They unplugged the modem, router etc not realizing it was MINE, NOT the one the kids were using!!! Grrr... I have tried and tried & never got mine back up and running. That is on the list for Monday. I will likely have to bring in outside help and I am dreading bringing anyone into this disaster.

Today was helping Marie get the Halloween costumes done to mail to New York. she was struggling with the zipper and how to make the tulle skirt "work". It was too many layers to try to include sewn into the dress skirt. We ended up putting it on elastic with satin waistband granddaughter will slip over the dress.

Tomorrow is Gladys Mae's celebration of Life and that will be one more commitment completed and off the plate. We will visit with our cousins from out of town.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the new room Betty.
Sounds like you are ready for your Thanksgiving. Enjoy your time with family.

Pat, hope you can get your modem going again.

Found you all and finally catching up! Glad Judy's first surgery is behind her and she is doing well!

Went to Ohio for the past week for the Afghan Hound Club of America specialty show. Had to leave a little early to get back for Sissy's chemo appointment, but, we made it just in time. The only bad part about being away for a week, and having someone else come in to take care of the dogs, is the mess I come home to! Lots of laundry, lots of just general cleaning, since they just came in twice a day to feed and let them out. I need another week to recuperate from this!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in Canada!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, light rain this morning, almost like a mist, wish it would rain and empty it’s bucket out seeing as i want sun for tomorrow.

Yes, I’m am getting close to finishing of the pies, just the ones left is making lemon, coconut cream, chocolate, banana cream, only one i forgot was cherry, now watch someone say cherry is their favourite..by the time all done I’ll have a dozen pies made
Didn’t look at the clock buy i image it was early.. going to push till noon then the rest of the day will be couch day

Deb, how is the chemo going, do they give you any update or wait until series is completed? How did you do in Ohio, any ribbons..let the mess wait, do a bit at a time or before you know Monday will be here and it’s back to work..how is your weather?

Grrr got in trouble big time with my mom last night, shaking my head big time

How is Judy doing since the procedure?

I miss making Halloween costumes, thought i might have made Grayson his 1st but Kyle bought him one, guess he wasn’t thinking..

Of to check a strawberry rhubarb pie then check how defrosted turkey is, if enough I’ll cook today

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Marie said there was a costume like the one she was making on Etsy for $170 and it had sold out, new one made and resold several times already. I am stunned at the expense!! VERY true this costume is pretty wonderful but sheeeeeessshhhhhh. I guess if I want to consider supplementing my retirement that is one way to do it!

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

No, no ribbons, but, my girl Charlotte showed well, she had been with a friend in Florida, and she came home with me. One of the boys, Luca, is going to Florida to be trained and shown. So, I've got one very lonely boy here, and a bunch of big dogs that don't want to play with him. I'm sure we'll all adjust, but, it will take a little time.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Doesn't that make YOU sad!!! My friend bought a new dog to help her existing dog get over the mourning of the loss of his companion when they had to put her down.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Costumes Pat are not cheap to make, used to cost me at least $100. To make each when i did the kids, sometimes more.please take a photo

Sharon Deb is experiencing same, think Inuk is 14, Paris 4 and now Kunitz who is 4-5 months old..they kind of stick to their own spot, not much playing but baby sure tries to play, likely same in your household.. how long will Luca be gone!

I’m more than tired, if it wasn’t for turkey in oven and my pre cooking turnip id call it a day..
Torrential rain

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Praying you have good weather for tomorrow Betty.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Calling for rain but that is ok..
Still have chocolate and the coconut pies to do..turkey almost ready to come out of oven and then i get to mash turnips, tomorrow is Han in sweet sugar honey mix.

Little behind as Linda and Cathy came in for a visit, always love that

Looking at the clock, I’m ready for bed

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, looks as though the heavy rains might be moving on, so hope so

Would it be grand to be able to eat outside..was up early, carved the turkey, carcas in freezer for soup, dressing is delicious, all pots and pans washed and in their rightful place.. ham in the oven, at noon out of the oven it comes slice it the add the brown sugar/mustard/honey mixture to it..while i sit and rest i can do potatoes and carrot and voila done for the day..not quite but nearly lol

Overcast day, better than rain..

Have the alarm on for 2:30 reminding me to cook the rolls .. if i do them now i know i will certainly eat them all before supper.

Cathy came over, her sister was suppose to cook thanksgiving meal for today but today she tells Cathy she was too busy to do so..i made a container of ham, turkey dressing and cranberries, rest wasn’t cooked..at least they will have thanksgiving dinner.

Broke down and called my mom, not a pleasant call big sigh

Cathy came in so told her I’d have to call her back, will do so when everyone has left

Very quiet here, i almost said you all must be busy cooking up a storm but not your Thanksgiving lol

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sorry to hear Cathy's sister let her down. My sister has always been the ONE person I could count on. Not surprised to hear that you stepped up and helped Cathy out. VERY kind of you.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Well it is not quiet here. A birthday party for a young girl three houses up across the greenbelt. Karaoke has been going for over 1 1/2 hours and oh my, these young girls cannot carry a tne but must think they are magnificent.

Been about a hour lapse since first info because I had to take the dogs for a walk and then feed them and Brian. I made a meatloaf and baked potatoes.

Betty, I am sure your Thanksgiving was wonderful. You could have just had coffee and pie.

Betty, you need to tell us what your mom is up to now. We love giving advise......

When I lost the female schnauzer before this one, I got two new schnauzer puppies about 6 months later. Helped with the grief and especially helped the dog left behind.

Still trying to find out what is wrong with Cecil. I have stated him on a very bland and simple diet. He is actually eating the dog food the Vet prescribed because he is hungry. I have determined if I over feed him, then he throws up. So I am feeding his 3 times instead of 2 and making it simple. And trying to keep some o his water intake down, not severely, just down because every time he gulps a large amount of water, he throws up.

We have a major wind storm hitting here tomorrow around noon. I go to the dentist for my crown at 2pm. I cut a large bouquet of coleus for an indoor vase. They will root in water and look great. I have enough rooting and after tomorrow, I will be pulling them up and into the compost they go.

I know Betty is in bed, so I will say Good Morning Betty. Good Morning Dianne, Good Morning Marilyn, Good morning Susan.

Pat, have a nice evening. Linda, I am so sorry yu have to ut up with such an inept government and go through al this and they are coming again. 40,000 Haitians just over the horizon.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, was your Thanksgiving today?
Sounds like you cooked enough for the neighborhood. It all sounds good.
Sure hope the vet can figure out what's wrong with Cecil.
Yes, we have heard the numbers too. Several reports say 400,000. I hope not.

Verona, ON

Thanksgiving Day is upon us. I think I will cook a chicken breast maybe foray into the freezer for a dessert.

Oh Sharon I sure hope you get to the bottom of Cecil's ailment. I have always said I would rather ir be me that is sick than 1 of my dogs. I am pretty good at 'dog speak' but sometimes you just can't understand what's wrong. It's difficult to get a vet's appointment here - these furries that have been adopted during the pandemic will be returned. I have said I will be open to foster a larger dog or two. I have the room.

Kai is in rare form this morning. I didn't put all his toys and balls away before I fell asleep last night. At 4:30 am he was pushing a stuffed squeaky toy in my face. We saw the bear at a distance this morning when we walked. Hopefully the bear bells scared it off rather than my shriek.

Karen how are you feeling ?

LK I too thought "oh no" when I saw the news about a surge of people walking north to the border.

Betty enjoy your day with your family. Please let them help you.

It’s a sunshine day here, imagine i just got up..not much tidying to do so will go get a few totes and put fall away, Halloween is on its way..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not as much fun putting “fall” away as it was bringing it out..

I had on each of the 4 fall totes an itemized list of what is 8n the tote so am sticking to the plan..

Time to empty the pond and cover the umbrella’s

Now for Halloween to make an appearance

At 12.30 last night I heard a crash coming from the kitchen. I figured Nova knocked the metal garbage can over. NOPE, she used a kitchen chair (and knocked it over) to get ON TOP of the kitchen counter!!! Now a Lab does NOT belong on the kitchen counter. I've told son, and suggested they get in the habit of pushing IN the kitchen chairs under the table AND shutting off the lights. Oh well...
The 5 YO Alex is home sick with an ugly cough, sounded like bronchitis to me, my kids and I were always prone to it. .

Stopping by to say HI, and, wish all the Cannuks a HAPPY THANKSGIVING, all the American gals can still look forward to their celebration ..

I am valiantly trying to help DH recover from a left knee revision. The initial surgery (a knee replacement) was 3 years ago, and, it came up infected Dec 2020, and, surgery to remove the knee prosthetic was done, and, he is now home on antibiotics administered through a PICC line via a CADD pump..
DH is very moody, but , the 3 dogs keep him in check .. Lorna is retired now and is very busy looking after the property .. very fussy ..
I am pretty much exhausted from all the running around, but, it is what it is ..
Getting my WINTER tires on tomorrow .. SOBERING thought !!.

Hugs all around

M

Lordy, waking up in middle of the night being startled isn’t nice, bet you had hard time getting back to sleep..

Perfect day..I’m now an couch and can’t move for pain, don’t feel sorry for me, did it to myself!! Main project was getting water feature pump out and washed, Lordy i felt i was the creature from the swamp..fall is put away, garden art other than metal art put away.. so much more I’d like to do but body said absolutely no go.

Calling for rain tomorrow, big sigh, needed but a few more days of sunshine to completely be winterized.

Wonder what Susan is doing?? Hope it was camping for Thanksgiving.

Dianne, am sure you are enjoying this glorious weather getting all your wood ready for white stuff.

Liz, how is the job going? Are the numbers much better in your area?? Imagine you have to wear a mask? Have you been talking with Judy?

Marilynne, My sister had to have her knee replacement replaced due to infection. It is very good now.

Glad to hear Lorna is retired now. Hoping she can find enough to keep herself out of mischief.

Happy Thanksgiving. It is Columbus Day here and a bank holiday. I sure don't know why.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Happy Thanksgiving to all my dear Canadian friends.
I have heard if so many joint replacement surgeries get infected years later. They never can figure out why.
Pat, I would make them keep that dog in their bedroom at night. That would have made me very upset

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hello there “M”, great news on Lorna retiring..they will have difficulties for sure finding someone to come close to having her knowledge, work habits as well…can see your gardens next year as she will need something to occupy her time. Poor Gordon, he must be so frustrated..hope he mends quickly quickly.. know men have no patience when it’d ones to needing someone’s help..glad the furries keep him occupied.

Snow tires, sobering thought, i should get the boys to see what size the snow tires are that i have from car i just traded in..dealership says they will not fit on this car grrr that is 3 vehicles I’ve had to buy snow tires for..the last car with Covid it went nowhere so there should be goodnthread on them..thanks for reminding me.

Thanks for reminding me, not out of question to have snow end of October..in this heat wave who would think it’s possible..

Don’t be a stranger, miss you!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Rain is in the air..

What a way to start morning, garbage morning but eats time for some critters as they got into the green bin, had to rake up Thanksgiving scraps grr will be glad when the new food bin gets used starting November 1st as it has a lock they designed will prevent critter entry. It’s so large guess as of now i can start using itjust not put it roadside till it’s week.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear you had to clean up the mess.
How many did you have for Thanksgiving?
Any pies left?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Had 7, supplied 5 more with meals, most did not eat pie but took them home..i froze 2 for when i get a urge for sweets..a lemon meringue I’m working myself through it.

Just came in, been out all morning cutting growth down to the ground, started to ache so in tak8ng a break..the day is so beautiful that i have to take advantage of it..

Do you all cut down your hosta’s the the ground??

Victoria Harbour, ON

Small break, got a good bit done, lawn furniture set put away, umbrella’s covered..
Marie has been helping me, nice of her
Getting overcast so will have to stop

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

My hostas would just die back and I would remove all the dead leaves.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sounds like you had an awesome Thanksgiving Betty, PIE was had by all! LOL

At 12.30 I was still up reading in my recliner or I never would have heard the dog thru 3 doors and a Cpap unit.

I am grateful my garbage cans are on wheels, & only have to move them the short distance on cement drive to the road. I no longer live a the bottom of a long driveway, a the far end of an acre. My poor kids used to have to haul the cans to the top of the steep drive way.

Marie & I are headed to pick up my Aunt's cremated remains from Prosser, about an hour away. We will take her for internment in Portland in the next few days (4 hours away)

Somehow I have lost 1 hearing aid, I have been looking since Sunday. It was on the end table when I napped & then wasn't when I headed to bed. I have looked everywhere I can think of, including putting a yardstick under furniture to pull out anything (found cat toys). I have not given up hope. Sick idea but I have even been REALLY CHECKING the kitty box incase Stanley tried to eat it. Nothing so far but I can tell you ingested some hot pink fabric. (Yeah TMI)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks Karen, researched a bit, can leave them as is but the clean up come spring is more..advisable to cut them down after a frost because grubs like to nest in them over winter, don’t know if i will i put them all down but doing a number on them.. if weather continues to be good through end of October I’ll try my best to get them all done.

Pat, am hoping you find your hearing aid, it’s likely in the most likely place, prayer to St. Anthony, patr9n o saint of list objects..better he than where you have been searching lol. Can just see you all relaxed in a recliner.. difficult for you and Marie to get your Aunt interred..she had no immediate family?

As for the new bins they delivered the food bags and kittie litter will be secured with top that locks, the 3 bins all have handles and wheels..we will see how they do come winter.

Ray who does my leaves wait until all the leaves have fallen so one good thing if i get all the gardens done he will easily be able to get all the gardens cleaned up.. the odd year snow falls before snow fall and it has to wait til spring, not the end of the world.

Was thinking i could easily go to bed now but have been cooking hambone all day, just cut ham up in mini pieces and now it’s cooking the beans, several types along with rice… soup for the freezer.

Ziggy spent the day laying on my bed, now that I’m thinking of going to bed he is beside me wanting me to pet him..must be watchful as he only wants me to pet him fir a tad then when he has had enough he wants to claw me.

Should do something inside while i wait for peas to cook but just might cuddle up with Ziggy
