Best,Worse,What did I learn today? A place to chat with friends, newcomers always welcome…

In some areas I have become a bit of a minimalist I really only want the pies that people will eat that day. I don't want tons of leftovers. I hate the after the DAY mess of leftovers! crazy huh? LOL On the other hand, I love taking home 1 days worth of dark turkey. I would happy to have just the green bean casserole and dinner roll!! Turkey is Ok, but green bean casserole??? OH YEAH!! LOL I am spoiled, Marie sometimes makes it just because she knows I am staying for dinner.

In my current situation I will have my normal Thanksgiving at Marie's on Saturday, but unless Adam & Andrea do something specail on TDay, I won't do anything.

We have set the date for the Celebration of Life for my Aunt and started the notifications. We reserved the back room of a restaurant and will have a family dinner. We only expect about 20 family members. Marie and I did not want to be responsible for cleaning the house, set up, preparation of food & then clean up AGAIN. Marie is 74 & I am 66, too young to feel this old.

Have my Vax Certificate on my phone so I am ready if asked. Interesting I have 2 appointments with specialists at Hotel Dieu on Monday and I don't have to show anything other than my health card. Lots of other rules in place though - like don't show up until 15 min before your appointment. There is no way they can monitor that as the doctors are always running behind.

Betty I had to go and check the calendar - I am in shock that Thanksgiving is so close.

All ready to get the wood stove going - Steve was here this morning and cleaned the chimney. I burn a hot fire for at least an hour every day so my chimney is pretty clean but I still have it cleaned.

Karen how are you ? I'm with you on the pokes. I drink lots of water the night and morning before the test but it doesn't help plump up my veins.

Apparently the bear was sighted on the lane yesterday afternoon. I walk with bear bells so between that and the TH's romping around I am not too worried. Won't walk after dark though.

Oh Pat leftovers are my favourite. People invite me for Thanksgiving or Christmas and I always say 'no' but I will come the day after for leftovers.

Chaos is raising a stink so I had better check it out. He doesn't bark a lot so it has to be something.

Blood refill is done and I feel much better. It was a long drawn out process though. Had to be there at 7 didn't get done until after 2. First needle in was put in the crook of my arm. Never again. Had to have it redone, if I moved the least little bit it was very painful. Now I have a month before we start over.

Good bless you Karen. Vern was always anemic and they could never determine why. Maybe he had what you have because I have never heard of it. So pleased you got your infusion.

I have worn long pants and a light sweat shirt the last two days. I am in my glory. Low 80s and high 70s. I have a lot of flower beds to empty and plant spring flowers. We started Thursday. Flowers will not be here for about 4 weeks. We have perfect weather until right before Halloween and then it turns cold. Cold for us anyway.

Betty, I am so sorry your shoulder gives you such pain, Wish we could wish that pain away. I do not do Thanksgiving or Halloween decorations. It is all I can do to do Christmas.

Pat you are a baby. You are 13 years younger than me. You are six years older than my daughter. You do a fantastic caring project on the dolls. The children that receive them are so blessed.

My son, his wife and son are coming down to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. With my step-son living here I will be short one bedroom but my daughter has a big home also and we will make do.

I actually did some cleaning in Vern;s office today and got rid of many magazines and more clothes. Found some pictures I have never seen.

Dianne, scary having a bear running around in your area. I am with you, I love left overs or stuffing before it is cooked. And I prefer the dark meat on Turkey and chicken.

I wanted to send that before I lost it. Still up in the air about step son's condo and what they are doing. Maybe by Monday I can talk to the Condo manager and see what is planned.

I spent over 1 1/2 hours today on the phone with DirectTV to get the TV upstairs turned on so Brian could watch sports upstairs. Last person I spoke with said a technical support person would need o help me and they would call in 10 minutes. You got it, no call. I pay to have 5 tvs on the system and never worried about the one upstairs because it wasn't being used. I was to nice but that is just the way I am with the persons on the phones. They do not make the rules, so no need to get upset with them. I will try again tomorrow.

Afternoon, called for rain, overcast and from time to time sun peeks out.

They are having a fun day and a few vendors, band next door, petting zoo across the street.

I’m peaked at Marie and Ted, guys are trying their best to get things in the community
And they were asked if they could put their car in my yard so entire area could be open, nope, i asked and they said no..pure meanness…she can see I’m angry..why can’t people be nice?? ive no time for pettiness and will say what i think..sitting on the lawn where my trees are so can’t see band but will enjoy.

The word is there are a few bears in the region, warning walkers on the trail.

Will be good Sharon to know one way or other about the condo situation..hate these leave your number and the next available operator will call then don’t. We have ignite tv, there is a. Box slightly bigger than a cigarette box and you can bring it to ant room and you catch programs.

We are having beautiful weather. I am going to water some pots and then determine what I am going to do with the rest of the day. Cecil threw up three times yesterday. Hadn't thrown up for several days.

I am still working on cleaning out flower beds for spring flowers. This time of year is when I realize how many beds I have. I have over 100 coleus cuttings in the garage rooting in perlite and water. See how many make it through the winter. Plumerias will need to be moved into the garage in a few weeks.

I am going to contact the HOA of Brian's condo Monday to se what I can find out. Got a nasty letter from the city giving us a month to do repairs. Not possible but just a form letter with the address typed in. Of course, it scared him. It took over 1 1/2 hours to disconnect this phone. They wanted to charge him extra to keep the number. No one calls him except me and his sister.

Morning, rained all night, i can see sunshine so likely a beautiful fall day.

Sharon you must be worried about Cecil, he hasn’t been well in some time..do the vets not have any idea of what is going on (i might have forgotten).. that is a lot of Coleus..I’ve several in outdoor planters, should take them out and replant for inside because one of these morning we will have frost.. we will see how overwinter them.

You will have your hands full getting all looked after for Brian, how blessed he is.

Just got back from grocery shopping, other than a few last minute things I’ve all i need to put on a good spread..Saturday will be pie day

Other than that, just sitting and relaxing..
Do need to sweep up craft room, had it all cleaned then did a few fall projects and made a mess, nobody to blame so clean I must do.

NOT possible to do crafts and not make a mess!!! Or I sure can't!

I need to get out and weed, water and soon, plant the new tulip bulbs I bought. I would like to make a nice level solid path from the driveway to my backyard. I landscaped that area last year but really didn't concentrate on leveling from the house to the flowers like I should have. I doubt it will be this year, not motivated enough I guess. I'd rather sew, this year my flowerbeds got short changed. Oh well.

Pat - you're 1 year younger than me! When I was 66, that's when I told people I was "2/3rds evil" lol I'll never get fully evil - 666 would be a bit too old mmmmmmmmwahahaha

Today was overcast, dull kind of day, spent it on the couch..
Don’t know if you have this stateside be starting November 1st the will be using an electronic type garbage pick up system, this afternoon they dropped off containers for garbage, recycle and food compost, drats the bins are so big, can’t imagine how i will get them to roadside come winter, can’t put the on roadway, must be in my drive by 7, same time but different day, not only will i have to fight to get them to roadside must be set 2’ apart, certain arrow way, now township doesn’t always plot by 7 or they do and my plot guy hasn’t come yet..what a disaster it will be..will take photo tomorrow..
Really, the size of compost bin i can when cold leave it til spring. Lol even have an electronic marking to show is belongs to this address.

Opened the window for air, will have to close it, Jamie next door has one of those. Jumping air houses like you find at fairs..generator is right next to my bedroom window, can hear it working, kids are enjoying so all that counts..they usually shut it off around 8-8:30, not their fault I’m an early to bed person..kids come first.

No answers on the condo but insurance guy said total roof is gone so that means he wiring is also gone. Looks like it will be a total tear down. If it is a rehab, all wiring will need to be redone and windows are now crooked and front door does not open or close very easily because door frame is crooked. Brian's insurance person says HOA will not respond to their e-mails.

I understand Facebook and Instragram were both down for over 8 hours. May have been hacked.

Cecil goes in Wednesday at 4pm for his new ultrasound. He feels OK, just very select in what he will eat. We just got back from our walk and he will not eat anything.

We have three containers, with wheels, One for recycle and two for garbage. I do my own composting. City does not have composting. My son who lives in Spokane has three and on is for composting. And they cannot throw away any more than their cans will hold or they pay extra. The majority of my garbage is big cuttings from the garden that would take 10 years to compost. Here, if you have them near a three, when they lift them up with the mechanical thing, they lift them very high and usually break off branches. I try to put them on the street in the middle of my driveway so they do not break the trees. We get pick up one time a week. They have a bulk pickup every two weeks and you can put out anything and they will pick it up.

Today will be judys first surgery they are not sure if it will be balloons. Or stents in her neck yet. Pray for a sucessful surgery.

I just got a text. It says Judy is in ICU. Surgery went well.

Thanks for the update Linda, I appreciate it. I worry about my online friends. For people that do not belong to an online community, they don't understand the closeness you can achieve. I do miss our quilt block swaps but we probably have everything we need going on right now!

I hope all is well with Susan, she is not online much lately.

Sharon, HOA is not responding to emails, is there no PHONE number the insurance can call? I wonder who the appropriate agency is to complain to in order to get some action/response.... When a 3rd party was responsible for damage to many of the homes in my neighborhood (someone doing construction on the highway got carried away with the strength of their blasting), I told my insurance THEY could seek 3rd party reimbursement if they wished, but they insured MY house and I expected them to handle the claim and they did.

I hope they get to the bottom of Cecil's problems, poor guy/!

Karen, I hope you are feeling better and better each day as the infusion does it's job.

Stanley is his normal rotten wonderful self! He drives me crazy sometimes with his neediness but I would rather have to deal with that then an aloof cat that does not need me. I know Stanley expects more than a clean kitty box & food, he expects to have MY attention. We read most nights for an hour or two. He sits & sleeps on my lap while I wind down for bed.

Break is over. I am taking apart purchased pajamas to make nightgown for Kevin's soon-to-be daughter. I could not find the fabric she wanted so had to resort to new plan. I'll post a picture when it's done.

All is well here. Cecil and Emma got groomed today and Cecil has lost another pound. Tomorrow is the big day for the extensive ultrasound. Please keep Cecil in your prayers.

We had rain during the night and a little light rain early morning. Nice and cloudy but looks like rain moved on.

Pat, problem with a condo is Brian's insurance covers the inside and the HOA covers the outside. Except for the holes in the walls and water and smoke damage, Brian's unit is good. but his insurance agent said whole roof is gone. Still there but caved in on it self.

I got in my car this morning to take the dogs to grooming and had a dead battery. So Brian had to take me, then my garden helper came over to jump my battery and then we went to buy a new battery. Then had a problem with the radio. Would not come on. Had to be reset because of battery being removed. Theft protection. Took awhile but I finally got it done with the help of my niece that works at the Honda dealership.

It is just about time for the dogs afternoon walk. I have not done much today but will make up for it Thursday when we er out all of the flower beds and get ready for spring flowers.

My sister is back from her trip to Dallas to see her daughter. She says she had a wonderful visit. She will be here the end of the month.

Winter is coming because my yellow oxcalis are coming up. They die back in the summer and come up and bloom all winter.

Pat, you are right, people don’t understand, it’s been almost 20 years, not quite but close enough and in contact with going inside almost daily..I’ve been blessed to have met many..Karen, Liz,Judy,Lindakay,Sharon..love you all like you are my own family.

My friend Sharon messaged me that her husband passed away, he was diagnosed with cancer September 10th..Trevor her 1st husband died of a massive heart attack and now cancer took hubby in 3 short weeks.

I sat all afternoon playing cut out, Pat like Stanley my Ziggy is laying next to me snoozing away, every once in awhile he looks at me as though to say don’t you know it’s bedtime.

Karen how are you doing..infusion working well? You aren’t gone to Michigan are you?

Sharon, winter is coming..big sigh, not that i don’t like winter but the shovelling..yikes sore shoulders. Poor Brian, what a mess he is in, is he taking it in stride? Glad your sister enjoyed her trip.

Mom called awhile ago, she thought maybe she should drive aunt Muriel home seeing they shopped a lot and was worried about me lifting and carrying everything into her apartment… right I’m going to let a 90 & 92 year old do it..shaking my head.

My sis and BIL are here. Of all things they are house hunting. They have decided they want to move here. Good part is they can sell theirs for twice what they paid. Bad part is places here are hard to find. Many get sold as soon as they hit the market.

On Monday I had my 2 appointments at Hotel Dieu. Had the ocular field tests and then saw the Neuro Optha doctor. It looks like an another eye surgery is going to happen. I have to go for an MRI so blood had to be taken. Karen I thought of you when I had it done.

Betty I was happy to see you had a sunny day for your Family Fun day. It poured rain here all day with a bit of T & L for good measure.

Dianne, with the way medical system is are you thinking it will be a long wait.. a worry having surgery on eyes..likely you are tired out from lifting wood.

As for being tired I’m dozing siting up hand sewing a border, best i wake up so i don’t burn the cranberries I’m cooking..did a batch for Marie for her Thanksgiving and thought if i did mine it will be one thing less to do, so up i go and stir them

I have never cooked a cranberry in my life. I hate to find out the canned stuff I have been using is terribly inferior! LOL ... I don't eat the stuff, other than my Mom had a recipe for a cranberry salad that I loved. None of us have made that in ages! Hummm... maybe this year!

Judy called me a bit ago. She had her surgery today and all went well.
The end of the month she will have surgery on both.of her legs. Not for sure if it will be stints placed in the veins or a different procedure.

Goodness, she is getting a real overhaul! Poor woman, such scary stuff to be going thru right now.

She was pretty nervous going in for surgery, but relieved at the same time, knowing they were going to clear her arteries.

Pat there’s nothing to cooking cranberries you simply dump the bag in a pot and add maybe an eighth of water and a cup of sugar and just keep an eye when the cranberries start to burst just put it on low and let it simmer now there are spices that you can put in it I do not because many of the kids aren’t fond of it so I simply stick to the cranberries in the sugar.

Wonderful news on Judy, knowing Judy she would’ve been a mess waiting for the operation date here’s hoping all goes well for her I’m sure Steve is a mess as well.

So glad to hear Judy had a successful procedure. Hoping all will be better for her now.

Shopped at Cookstown fabric shop, Sharon spent mega $$, i bought prewound bobbins for embroidery machine

Wouldn’t you know I sat last night cutting out pieces for the normal pillows and didn’t they haven’t done in a blue and I fell in love with it so bought the fabric for it however no one around here sells the painted fabric design, don’t like when they show you display items then tell you know where can you buy the fabric to do them grrr
