I had to send that because my computer was acting weird.
Linda, sounds like the mess in Del Rio has calmed down for a moment. I just shake my head every time I hear about the illegal crossings.
Best,Worse,What did I learn today? A place to chat with friends, newcomers always welcome…
Sharon, be careful what you pray for!!! LOL...
Betty, I echo that sentiment, bless your helpful neighbors!
Sorry to hear about the fire Sharon. Glad no one was seriously injured. You have your hands full.
Morning, Lordy sun just came out after an all night rain, here is hoping it stays out and i can cut my grass.
Oh Sharon, thank goodness it didn’t spread more than it did..lord was looking after them, no fatalities…that is a big undertaking for you, when you live alone for a bit we get set in our ways. You said you wanted him to get more active, is there another apartment complex that he would do better in? I feel like I’m a bad here you and Pat are picking up the slack for your family, mom was here but 5 days and i couldn’t wait to be alone again..I’m sure that after your meeting he will settle in knowing what is expected of him.
Karen, how are you feeling?
Dianne are you getting the sunshine.
Lindakay, are the store shelves any better, are they filled with goods?
Den how are you all doing..your daughter ok?
Took a quick run into town and bought my turkey and pie fixings as we celebrate in 2 weeks, sent out invitations to family now let’s see who can attend seeing it’s just been a week since mom’s gathering.
Decided to make a large spaghetti sauce so i can freeze some meals other than that I’ll putter around seeing i cleaned my craft room and cupboard..my pick of the day said clean washroom, that shouldn’t take long.
Think I’ll make a coffee and have a muffin then exercise time.
Store shelves are about the same. Some get restocked slowly, others get emptied.
Even restaurants here can't serve all on the menus. They can't get supplies either.
While our shelves are usually pretty good, some products are hit & miss. The restaurants have LONG since pared down their offerings. I have thought that the reduced menus here were more due to shortage of employees, so limiting options makes it easier for the employers. The increase in drive thru food, take out & home delivery have more than made up economically to some fast food places.
It's a crazy different world, that is for sure.
Stopping in to say HI
Lots going on in our lives - we're on "hold" for Bob's court case.
I'm the organizer of the Silver Willows Senior Society's Silent Auction. Have lots of businesses donating, and looking for personal donations, too. Got to keep me busy, eh? LOL
I'm also knitting - helps with stress, and helps to decrease my "stash". When I can, I have some sewing to do for me. Patterns to use that I really like.
Well I’m back from town..what a to do..Greg came to install dishwasher..got crate apart and it’s a regular plug in, apparently they use far less electricity so off Greg went to get some electrical supplies to change the wiring.
While reading he said i need dishwasher salt, know I’m behind the times butt i didn’t know such a thing existed, it’s for hard water and calcium problems. Found some at the larger appliance store in Midland and he assure me that mo st high end dishwashers have that feature so that’s good and it was $10 for a box of salt.
Glad i made a big pot of spaghetti sauce so i can pay for installation with spaghetti.sauce lol
Susan am glad that things are quiet right now..am sure the courts have far greater cases they must hear first. You are indeed keeping yourselves bust, that is a plus.
Pat and Lindakay, I’ve not seen a difference here with groceries or supplies..i did hear on the radio on my way to Midland that England for past few days had run out of gas..they also made note that our gas bill ie.e heating our homes is going up 25%.
they had a speaker about Canadian snowbirds travelling south..right now border is closed til October 21st and they feel as each month goes by is will be delayed by another month…
So stupid, you can fly to Florida’s but can’t drive your car across..then once you get to Florida you wouldn’t be able to rent a car as they are at a premium..for Darlene and John not an option Re flying because of aged dog and cat.
Might just have a nap
Drats, so much trouble when you replace new in old..
Greg is still working on dishwasher..took afternoon off, now going back to Barrie to make up his hours as he is on overload with contracts… has to do job pricing..
Just brought Ziggy in, hope he doesn’t get out when Greg is in and out as i can smell skink
Susan, happy to see you stop in & that life is moving along. Staying busy, always a plus.
Cats are such sneaky little brats!!! LOL There is an area between my bedroom and the sewing room, like tiny hall, with doors on both sides and then door out to the garage. When I have to confine Stanley, because we are going in and out, I put him there. As you can imagine, he is not fond of that option!!
Hopefully your dishwasher install will get easier, goodness a lot of extra unexpected work!
Kitties are…it’s the skunks I’m more worried about..
Greg almost done i think..then in goes the dishwasher salt and we will test drive a load while he has spaghetti..
First load on for wash, so quiet
Climbed into bed and set alarm for 9 and 10 to check make sure no leaks..
Liz, any updates on Judy?
Hope you all had a grand day
Judy is supposed to have surgery on the 4th I think she said. To clear her carotid arteries
Morning, sunshine day in my neighbourhood,,,slept in this morning, almost missed the garbage truck but made it..sun was shining I decided hunter turkey should be out front..
girls should be here by 9 unless the call to cancel hat would fill in my morning afternoon i have the dishwasher crate to burn then free from work..
Tell Judy please Lindakay that she is in my thoughts and prayers..know she is worrying big time.
besti get dressed, enjoy a coffee and muffin before my day starts
Good morning.
What a beautiful view you have.
I will tell Judy. She is anxious to get her health back in order.
Had my EGD yesterday. It was not as easy a procedure as usual. Dr. also removed polyp in stomach. I might have had more anesthetic as usual as I had a really tough time staying awake all day. As much as I dozed I still slept 11 hours last night. Still feeling slightly off today. Dr. did say I do need to have another infusion. I wish they had just done it yesterday as there was already a line in. It's such an ordeal to find a usable vein. I'm sure I would feel better than I do too.
I sure hope Judy is feeling much better very soon.
Karen, I can understand your desire to just get it done since they were "already" had a line in.
Sending Judy good vibes & prayers.
You have to wonder Karen if it’s a make work project prolonging the infusion when you are already there..maybe they think it would have been too much for you..give you a bit to regain your strength..
Thanks Lindakay fir relaying message, sure do miss her on here..
Girls were here, So sad to to see bothe my gals starting to having difficulties coming Tuesday morning..
Soaked 8n tub for about 15 minutes in hopes he would help my shoulder but no go.
Sitting on couch painting pieces of 2x4’s i had around the house..they might as well be a decorative piece vs laying around so i will make 2 more pumpkins..as well i found enough mason jars and cup inserts to maybe make them into candle holders..as long as it can be done with 1 arm..am sure it was the sewing for 1/2 hr that did the shoulder in
Also brought in fall plank, sketch something on backside for Halloween, just have to do something..oat did a few of these placement pads, might sit and cut a few designs out..
Not sure why but feeling i must be on high speed today even though my shoulder says no
Betty when I get this low, it's usual procedure to do infusion and EGD. My blood does not build its self back up. It just keeps going down.
How long do you think it will be Karen to get the procedure done?
Not really hungry, have leftover spaghetti but just ate a chocolate, think that just filled me up. Thought while I had my brush out and doing orange I do the big pumpkin that’s been sitting out on the deck And fading away, gave it a coat and spruced it up.
I am thinking of heading to bed where I can support myself in the pillow is a little better, terrible 5 o’clock at night heading to bed.
Wish inhad half your energy Betty.
I ditto that too Linda. Cecil went to the vet today. He now weighs 14 lbs. Blood test shows he is anemic and they did an ultra sound and x ray. Will have results Thursday. He is happy and full of energy. But he will only eat what he wants to eat. He got his pills tonight in ice cream. He had beef rib meat and rice and would not touch it.
Step-son condo units had a fire next door and his unit has water and smoke damage. Everyone has to move out and the insurance will determine what has to be done. They boarded it up today. The one unit is totally destroyed. Should be interesting to watch what they will do. Inspector bet they would tear it all down and make ita parking lot and payoff everyone. Not good for Brian because he owns the unit free and clear and he cannot find another unit at the value of the one he has had for 30 years. But we do have an attorney in the family so just hide and watch.
Karen, hoping you get your infusion quickly so you will feel better.
It has been a long day with condo and vet meetings so I am going to hit it. Hugs to you all.
Praying he gets a fair price for his home.
Also that you get good news for Cecil.
Karen, I probably am just cynical but when the hospital bills for the procedure, it probably charges separately the cost of putting the line in. If you have the line in already, they have to break that charge out. Hospitals are not known for doing what is easiest/most convenient, least expensive or best for the patient but instead of what is easiest for the hospital.
I used to hang a sign on Ben's hospital door to not disturb him between certain hours so the poor guy could get some sleep. Otherwise I swear they came into his room every hour from 4 or more different departments for one thing or another, rather than group their visits.
When they would come for my blood, I would tell them, " take all you need NOW because you are NOT coming back for more later today!" I am a difficult draw and I do NOT like getting used for a pin cushion or having them "dig" in my arm. Yeah, TMI
Pat I have before talked them into leaving a line in when I was getting another procedure the next day. They called where I was going to be and they approved. Saved me a few pokes.
I agree the hospitals do what is most convenient for them. I have been known to tell them to go away and let me sleep. I have also left AMA, which I later told my Dr. about and he actually agreed with me. I have gotten strong about advocating for myself. Hubby also knows if he really feels I am wrong he can say so. Otherwise he better have my back. I know if I feel poorly I don't always make the best decisions.
Karen, kudos to you for standing up for yourself, think it was wonderful that you requested the line be left in..a few times a was used like a pin cushion, not nice and painful. Sure hope you feel better soon, am sure that your hubby has your back and knows what is best for you, lucky lady s was Ben when Pat was his advocate. Sometimes we think doctors are Gods, afraid to ask questions, times have changed thank goodness
Sharon, surely if only a few apartments are damaged they wouldn’t tear it all down, don’t insurances have ‘replacement value’ clauses? Sure hope they find out what is causing Cecil’s problems.
I’ve kept myself busy today, got to live my to do jar lol
Painted jars
Someone at the door
One 8 unit of an apartment complex here had a fire over a year ago. Still it sits. What needed to be was torn down but there is no forward motion on the rest. I shouldn't think it would take insurance so long to settle up for rebuilding.
Wow that is a long time sitting with nothing being done..guess some has to do with 2021 specks.
Has a visit with Cathy then Marie dropped in, now I’m yawning.. damp so my projects aren’t drying
Morning, hope the sun is shining in your neck of the woods…it’s cold, overcast, dampness is hard on these old bones.
I will stay in my painting nightly and finish the projects i started yesterday for lack of having something else on my schedule..my to do is washing and organizing the refrigerator, that won’t take long seeing i haven’t bought much since mom’s 90th birthday, eating mostly frozen meals except for spaghetti of course that i did Monday as a week Saturday is our Thanksgiving and a big grocery order happens then…shouldn’t take more than 1/2 hour so painting the rest of the day will occupy my day.
What is on your schedule?
Good morning. I am getting ready to go to the quilt shop. More quilts to put together and get quilted.
Hubby is finally retired. He has been doing paperwork since May. Yesterday he got an email from civilian personal, stating, Congratulations on your retirement. 10 years active duty, 32 years civil service. He is ready for his own life now.
Congratulations to your husband Linda! I am sure the 2 of you will enjoy it!
Another day at Marie's to work on bagging dolls.
Congratulations to both of you, time you both can enjoy travelling or just plain enjoying days at home..there will be some adjustments for sure but mostly days filled with joy…long time working, is he excited?
Enjoy your day with Marie Pat, keep that up and you will have bagged all the dolls/outfits you have in stock.
Managed to get fridge done, Lordy more work that i thought, good hour..lots of jars i could pa8nt. Lol
Must be painting in slow motion, seems to be taking longer than i thought to get them done.. fall and Halloween will be over by the time seasonal things are done..best i buy another tote for storage.
Finally got the call that I get my infusion tomorrow. I will feel so much better right away.
Great news Karen, too bad once a month can’t be scheduled then you wouldn’t have to go through feeling so,poorly.
I’m in bed, nice and toasty..
Probably will be for a while Betty, He has me scheduled for 4 weeks another EGD. At this rate I will have a big bill to pay.
I am hoping you feel better SOON Karen!!
We did another big box of dolls today. We are scheduled to get together again on Saturday and I hope that will finish up, other than the brand new dolls that we will add some clothes to their boxes. I have not done a count but I think between all the dolls it is about 200 of them. A dozen or so were baby dolls and only got sleepwear, blanket & bottle and a bag to store it all in. . Everyone else gets a wardrobe & bag. We were really choosy about the dolls this year & I have a LOT less work to do on their hair than in years past. I am grateful for that.
Praying you feel better soon Karen.
Pat, that is a lot of dols. They will create a lot of smiles.
Can't wait to see your finished painting Betty.
Sun is shining, thinking maybe i should leave my painting and go get the grass cut..hearing lots of lawnmowers going..today is the day normally I get ditch areas trimmed but not very long, maybe he will skip a week.
I’ve been sitting with Dr.Ho going on my shoulder for past 1 1/2 hrs, almost done and hoping it gives my shoulder some Pain
I’ve finishing coat on 6 mason jar candle holders and 2 gourds to give final coats to then decorate them all including 2x4 plank pumpkins…makes me sad that I can’t sew much longer than 20 minutes or so, not sure what the answer is
Warming up chicken tomato soup, I’ll decide what i will do then..
20 minutes is NOT very long and I can understand why that would frustrate you Betty. I would go nuts! When I sew it is frequently for hours and hours at a time. When I have to sew on a machine that is not the right height, or with a chair that does not wheel freely, I am uncomfortable.. Next time Marie and I go out of town to sew, I will pack an office chair for at least her. She hurt so bad.
Wasn’t that long ago i would sit from morning til night, big sigh
Gorgeous fall day out there, cut the grass but it wasn’t very long to start with, can barely see i cut it but i know it’s done…think next weekend Thanksgiving will be my last cut..i am thrilled our Thanksgiving isn’t as late as yours..
Mak8ng a list of what pie supplies i need..as always will be more pies than people..Betty’s tradition.
Dianne, how did your meal go the other day?? Are you having same weather as i am?
