Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends old & new..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

back in March, when I first called the police, the officer said he was Very familiar with Naomi & her father. Said they were bad news and that Bob & I should steer clear. We've met several people who've said the same thing, but Bob's soft hearted and apparently soft headed. She needed help so he jumped on his white steed, after putting on his knight in shining armour suit and rallied to her aid. He's never believed what others have said, he makes his own judgment and so do I usually, but where there's SO much smoke, there's usually fire. Ah well, we shall see what we shall see. Hope to hear from the lawyer tomorrow. I'm forwarding our home phone to my cell.
We're going camping for 5 nights, today. It's a 15 min drive, but a cute little campground with the row we're in facing the lake. We'll be back on Friday.

Verona, ON

Susan I am happy you and Bob are getting away for a week. You both need it.

I echo Pat's sentiments about Naomi.

The rain started about 20 min ago. The TH and I were out walking. It is a warm rain and not too heavy. I enjoy walking in a rain like that. Kai was already wet from swimming. Chaos just wades in the water. Kai is so crazy about water than I have to shut the doors to the bathroom when I shower or he is right in there with me.

Going to a friend's for dinner. I was going to walk but I think I will drive now.

How is the baby doing Betty ?

LK how are you feeling today ? Will Ida hit you ? I saw where the hurricane has caused the Mississippi River to reverse its flow in some areas.

Stay safe and well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, so much drama, you deserve to get away..really difficult to live in such a small community.. is there any way you could move for piece of mind?

Speaking I’d drama, Kyle and Destiny still quarantined, big sigh
They were out of quarantine for about 4 hours then because she has uti and could be symptom back into quarantine…they are so upset, can’t see Grayson nor visitors…

Dianne, i see from the puddles that we had quite a bit of rain, but blue skies

I embroidered a little knitted blanket with his name weight etc.think i was trying to use multi layers of wash away , too much so likely a throw away, will have to buy one

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I have some idea of what Kyle & Destiny are going thru. I am so sorry, they are in my prayers. .

Victoria Harbour, ON

They are young, Destiny is crying, wants her baby, wants home..Kyle is beside himself, he who never stops to be caught up in a small room.. etc
Kyle was suppose to go to work Saturday, no could do
Not sure if i won the baby raffle but if i did I’ll tell them to keep it, every bit counts

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, praying you contact the lawyer tomorrow. For now, take your vacation and enjoy.
Betty, have they said what's wrong with your great grandson?
Praying for speedy recovery.
One more week for this no food diet. Can't wait to sink my teeth into something I can chew. I am doing much better. I have lost 8 pounds this past week.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning..

Grandson’s breathing was due to excess mucus, Grayson is 100%
But because at first she was running a fever they put both she and Kyle in quarantine for 48 hours then they were ready to go home and she has uti, now Kyle could go home but baby and mother stay but he won’t leave them..Destiny too upset.

Just incase though nobody can see him..Mel and Greg brought supper last night and Kyle and them wanted to see him but no go..Destiny pumps milk and the nurses take it away and feed baby

How are you?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am praying today brings better things for everyone. Better health for you and your families. Better weather with rain for those who need it. Peace of mind and enjoyment of life for of us struggling.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Praying for a speedy recovery for Grayson.
I am doing much better. Just waiting to eat something the end of the week.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thank you, kids just got home thank goodness, thought they would never get home.

Did not plan on doing much today, they delivered my rider so i cut the grass, sat and talked to Marie and Ted in the little corner of their world i gave them with table and chairs, we were looking at a limb that one of the storms had cracked, next thing you know Ted had a ladder, jumped off the ladder and after a swing or two it came down..we were able to saw it in 3, cut limbs and filled fire pit so i am tired.

Mel and Greg as well as destiny’s mom and dad had their visit, Kyle wanted me to come over but i think they need rest..will go over weekend.

At 3 i realized i did not eat anything so a TV dinner did the trick..i will clean strawberries and treat myself..need an early night

Finally home

Betty, what a special blessing that Grayson is home. My brother's granddaughter named her baby boy Grayson.

My grandson Corbin was born at full weight and had to be rushed to another hospital to a better ICU because of his breathing problem. His lungs had not developed enough and it is very common in by babies.

I had a wonderful trip to Gresham, Oregon. Weather was fantastic. High 60s and low 70s. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. All my siblings were there and a lot of catching up. My parents took us to Oregon every summer for a two week vacation so we got to know our cousins very well. And God bless them, they kept in touch. Always came to Las Vegas and we had reunions at my home.

Cecil is still have problems but slowly getting better.

We actually have some cloud cover today and will only be 99 today. I am so waiting for the second week of September because that is when we should start cooling down.

Linda, so pleased you are getting better. What is the first thing you are going to eat?

My grandson Ethan leaves for BYU Hawaii today. His final year. Jacob, youngest grandson leaves for BYU Idaho in two weeks.

We have had an uptick of the new Covid so I am paying more attention to my surroundings. I go so few places, I should be OK.

Pat, how is the home sharing going now that all of the puppies are gone. They were sure adorable.

My house keeper is here today so we are in the bedroom early. I might go outside, because of the clouds, and do some dead heading. I also need to water. We go to 3 times a week watering September 1st.

Susan, the soap opera you are living just keeps going on and on. I wish you much luck with this latest.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, I am so happy to hear that Grayson is home! What a relief for all I am sure.

Linda, I bet you are starving for "real food"!!!

Sharon, not going well. If there are not some drastic changes, their stay will not be long. I am happy to hear that Cecil is continuing to make progress.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Welcome home Sharon. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
Our covid numbers are going up too.
423 just last week in our small town.
Liquid diet is going good. I called our health insurance nurse holiness, ask her what I could eat. She said I could start adding fresh veggies, some soft fruits, and non dairy yogurt. At least I have something to chew.
I have been craving a sourdough burger from Jack in the box, but I know that won't happen. I will bake a chicken this weekend.

Betty, so glad to hear the family is home.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Pat, you have been so quiet about the situation, I was afraid it was ot going well. I am so sorry to hear that but it is best to clear the air and get somethings settled. Maybe you can use an individual from the church to mediate. Would be easier.

My brother, that is a year younger than me, tried to get my goat at least 5 times on our trip. I just let it go but I have no idea what his problem is.

Linda, I do not eat much but all liquid sounds terrible. I wish you best. Can you not have meat or just fried meat?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Clearing the air is impossible with my DIL, just trying to make an "appointment" to talk is over whelming for her!! She has an appointment in September, I am hoping that with medication and counseling, we can make some progress.
I hate putting Adam in the middle. Church mediation would not go over well with either of them. My son has been inactive for years and she really has hostile feelings towards my faith.
More than likely I will suck it up, hang out in MY area, and count the days until they are gone. I am already making plans to make my annual sugar cookies at my sister's. NO way am I trying to work in this kitchen. If it weren't for Stanley, I would MOVE to my sister's.

It's just easier to say NOTHING. I got myself into this mess, I will get myself OUT.

Pat, I can surely understand. No matter how much you love them, it's not easy combining households. I've lived through it before and I can again.

Verona, ON

Oh Pat I am so sorry you are facing such challenges in your own home. Karen is so right about combining households.

Supposed to be cooler here today so maybe I can shut the AC off. We'll walk soon and I will have a better take on the temperature.

Betty happy to read Grayson is home. Don't hesitate to posted photos.

I've been exposed to covid second hand so will be isolating for a few days. Not much different than how I live my life so it is not a problem for me. I was supposed to meet an old neighbour from when I lived in the farm house for lunch today but won't be going.

Sharon I was delighted to hear your visit to Oregon was a happy one.

LK I was thinking you would lose weight following your diet. I bet your mouth is just watering for some things.

Wondering if it is a full moon as Kai is wired for sound. I am going to have to try another tactic to stop him from mouthing. I just can't break him from it. The only thing that really has an affect on him is the water bottle.

Need to get a walk in so I can get the house clean and tidied up. I sure miss Dawn coming and she is anxious to get back. Being self employed has lots of advantages except when you can't work.

Stay safe and well.

I have another of those darned blisters. I went to Dr. yesterday and he said it's my option to leave it to reabsorb or open it. If opened, it will be more painful and chance of infection. My choice is to wait it out even though it's very painful the way it is. I keep it wrapped in gauze to protect and cushion it. He also said I could soak in Epsom salt to maybe dry it up a bit faster. As to cause, he agrees it's due to me holding fluid at times. Might have to up my Lasix.
See how cute???

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Oh my gosh that looks painful Karen!

Mouthing? As in chewing on things or does this mean something more?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am not supposed to eat any solids till this weekend, to give my pancreas a chance to heal. I can't wait to bite into something.
Pat, I have been in your shoes. I know it's not easy. Hang in there. You will know when to pick your battles.

Verona, ON

Pat Kia's mouthing is his inability to keep his mouth off of any object that comes his way. It is not a malicious act. He just has to put everything in his mouth. There is absolutely no biting involved. He reminds me of hyperactive kids I taught who just had to touch everything that came into their sight. I had 1 young fellow who played catcher and center field all at the same time. Kai is like that he just wants to be everywhere.

Karen I just soaked my feet in water and epsom salts. It has amazing healing powers. My FIL who was a severe diabetic back in the 40's and 50's and also a traveling salesman for Swifts had to soak his feet daily.

Delightful temperature outside. Great breeze off of the lake. It was a pleasure to do our walks today. I didn't come home soaking wet from sweat.

What do you think you will eat first LK?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Not for sure. Probably grilled or baked chicken. Going to be hard to learn to eat bland food. Since I can't have greasy, fried or spicy food.

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Good morning! Have decided to check out DG again after a very long hiatus. Nice to see some faces I know and remember. Rainy day here as the remnants of Ida pass by. I think we are getting lucky. So far just gently raining which we need. Good to be back.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Soaked my feet last night. Will continue to do so hoping it helps.

Linda, after my bout with pancreatitis, I had to watch what I ate. Very gradually I tried eating regular foods and as long as I was careful about it, gradually I was able to get back to normal eating with no repurcussions. Occasionally I can tell if I over did by a few twinges.

Thank you! Most people called me Neener at the time. I originally joined in 2005 I think. Lots of changes since then. Navigating the options and seeing what I need to catch up on.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Neener, I miss the activity on "trash to treasure" and "cottage garden". Cottage got moved to "specialty" and just never seemed to prosper after that. What kind of gardening do you like? Are you a quilter? Tell us about yourself!!! We are excited to have you join us!

Victoria Harbour, ON

A year ago today my Diesel crossed the bridge. My heart aches.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Goodness, it does not seem that long ago.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I don't have an update yet. My niece & family (Marie's daughter) were right in the path of the tornado in Falmouth. They were supposed to go back to New York today but their condo in New York, the basement & lobby are flooded. They live on the 14th floor.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon…sorry hear about all the bad weather happening, if Dianne is like me we are having perfect weather..Dianne, can just imagine how you are feeling, a year already..hugs

Looking forward to hearing what Neener posts..

Pat,, you are the Queen of recycling..

Sharon saw your post and want to responds, grand trip, pain level high right now so just took more meds and hopefully a nap.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Neener. Glad to see you back on Dg! Don't be a stranger.

Betty, hope your pain meds kick in soon for you.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, cool enough here i could put the heat on..

going to try and get up today and be somewhat functional or try..laying in pain or moving in pain pretty much same.wondering if maybe they give me sugar pills instead of Tylenol 3’s, they don’t seem to touch the pain lol

Want to thank a Pat for subscribing to DG the other day, the brain fog had me in a tithes so thank you kindly…

Look forward to reading all your posts, as always they encourage me to push that little bit further in taking on a project
Seems these past few days we all haven’t been feeling our best, if not us our furries.

Good morning.
Do you have any muscle relaxers? Take one at night.
Love the baby photos.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

GREAT picture! So glad Grayson is home with his family.

Betty, I am sure you mentioned it before, CBT is legal in Canada? And what about THC? I know my client's made a believer out of me. So many of them got so much better relief out of the CBT with THC lotion (and sometimes edibles). Their pain was so much better controlled, they were able to dramatically reduce the opiate usage. . When my sister was in so much pain, I finally accompanied her to a "Pot shop" for her to purchase some products. In the end my husband needed the lotion to help control his pain. I would apply it directly to his hip.

Another thought to consider, sometimes a benzopine medication is combined with the opiates (Tynenol 3 being an opiate) to increase the effectiveness of the opiate. This should ONLY be done by the doctor!!! It can be lethal combination. I wish I knew what options were available to you that your doctor would try.

Victoria Harbour, ON

It is legal Pat and i take a mixture of both as per my doctor, at this point i do not want to add any more meds except for reoccurring UTI.

Around 11:this morning Marie came over to see how i was, Ted was making pies and treats for tomorrow’s family gathering they are going to..joanne called to see how i was doing as she is off to Vancouver tomorrow for 2 week stay with her daughter Cassie, jokingly I asked about her fall decorating, don’t know who would win the fall decoration contest, likely a tie. She said she decorated a week ago and i said i was behind, no sooner did i hang up Marie asked if the fall totes were in back shed, didn’t take her long they were on my deck and unpacked. There was a piece she admired so i told her to take it..had to coax her a bit but she did.

With all outside on back deck i promised i would not bring all in and i didn’t..she said she would be over later to set each piece where i wanted it..

With UTI bothering me i decided to go get my blood work and urine sample done so i can get a prescription Tuesday, nope, after driving around in parking lot for 10 minutes there down the hall in clinic entrance was a sign “sorry for the inconvenience but lab is at its capacity and we are closed until Tuesday grrrrr

Got what groceries I needed, Lordy 1/2 the world is shopping, what was on sale all has been bought out, that is what happens on long weekends in cottage country..am sure Dianne is experiencing same.

After that experience i headed to pharmacy in town, my doctor’s assistant said she would get Doctor to order my hip and shoulders injection meds, nope wasn’t done, unless doctor carries this specific injection with him guess I’m not getting shots this weekend…another grrrr

Quilts came in, didn’t want to leave all outside, missing a few things guess they are in Halloween totes (5) which won’t come in until Tuesday after Thanksgiving..so much colour in here, cozy as can be…didn’t i find a few sets of painted wine glasses i did to sell last fall along with 3 fall pillows, have to find a home for them..1/2 done the Halloween rag type couch throw for downstairs, that likely won’t get done but i would love a bed runner..big smile, if i got into those other bins bet i could find a runner 😜

That is my day of woes, what did you all get into today?
Lindakay, bet you are anxious for regular meals..
Karen?are you getting around yet
Deb, when is the next dog show
Pat. Are things settling in
Neener, what are you up to?
Susan, your camping trip going,ok?
Dianne, how is you house cleaner doing?
Liz, any more crafting ideas?

If i missed you it’s only because i need meds and a hot bath..

Hot bath then bed but i do spend time reading your posts..

Oh my goodness.... DIL finally did work in the kitchen! The counters are clear & washed, the DW is empty, no unwashed pots and pans, No "Jenga" with the washed serving dishes etc. I have been avoiding the kitchen like the plague, it has been so bad, it just made me too sad and angry to see it trashed.

Son finally emptied his trash out of my pickup, took it in for oil change, & flushed power steering, washed it outside. Still needs more work but it was progress. I wanted to get it up for sale 2 months ago but he was still using it. Now I have to get tabs renewed.

A friend's wedding is tomorrow. I need to go into town & buy the rest of the supplies for the boutonnieres

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, I'm doing fine. I sure wish you were the same. My toe has drained it's self. I still keep it covered so skin doesn't get rubbed off. It's still hardening underneath. It is not painful at all.
