Happy Canada Day dear Canadian friend..knew I posted on Facebook but almost forgot here where I’m most at home..
Hope your day was grand..
Best/Worse/What did I learn today??come chat a spell, newcomers always welcome...
Yes, the whole transport of kids stuff WILL NOT CONTINUE after the move. I am doing it to help free up time and allow them freedom to come & go without being tied down to the kids time schedule. NO WAY would I have committed to taking a 17 YO girl to a 6 hour babysitting job when it cost me 2 hours out of my day to do it. I am just doing it now to help out, it's not something I would "approved" if I had been asked an opinion!
Happy Canada day Betty, and all in Canada. Enjoy the festivities.
Betty, I will get a photo of the quilt tomorrow. Its just about ready to go on the frame.
Happy Canada days to my Canuk friends.
Thank you all..
Drats started to storm, poor organizing family and those who looked forward to an almost normal time and it had to storm..
Pat, can understand your wanting to make life easier while move is in progress..are the kids excited about the move?
Lindakay, will love to see them
Oh woe is me, forced myself to stay up for fireworks when I could be in bed snuggled up and sound asleep..
I put a video on Facebook re visitors I had today, can’t get rid of them
Ziggy wanted to go play, NOT
Just st watching tv, fires in BC are devastating, some due to lack of rain and record breaking temps..broke canada’s r3cord for July 1st..many lost their homes, perhaps their families

We are cooler in Las Vegas than your are in BC and the Pacific NW. I talked to my cousin today that lives in Gresham, Oregon, just outside of Portland. 45 Individuals have died from the heat. Mostly elderly individuals with no one looking out for them. We are back on with our trip to Portland the weekend of Aug. 1st. Missed it last year because of Covid. This year cousin Betty will be 91 and her sister will be 90. My youngest brother's birthday is the same day as Betty's. We are all going and it should be fun.
Betty, and all that live in Canada, Happy Canada Day. So sorry for the bad weather that cancelled your fireworks.
I am in the mist of negotiating with Direct TV about my service. I seldom watch TV and am paying $126 for Direct TV. They just increased it to $137. I am looking into several different avenues. I have it on 5 tvs and can cut that back.
Cecil and Emma go to a new groomer tomorrow. Our groomer was in a car accident. Drunk driver hit her. Poor puppies have never been to any other groomer. Should be interesting.
Pat, hang in there. This too shall pass.
Linda, look forward seeing your quilt.
Betty, that is a sad story about your neighbor. But I understand things like that happen all of the time.
Sounds like dinner with Sharon and her ex will be fun. It is always nicer when ex's stay friends.
Susan, one day at a time.
I will post a few photos tomorrow. My hardy hibiscus and plumerias are blooming. Volunteer tomatoes are producing.
Hugs to you all.
Sharon
We have lost 2 elderly in my area to the heat. I wonder if they were ALTC clients. If they were, some case manager is in a world of trouble! I don't think some of the CMs took the heat or cold as seriously as they should. Neither women had A/C and they lived alone.
Adam & Sam have driven back to Wooten this evening. They are picking up the dogs, puppies & whelping box & coming back tonight. (Unless they decide to stay over and Sam misses her Track practice tomorrow.).
Sam was measuring the whelping box so I could make whatever adjustments I needed to the bedroom to make room for it while Adam changed the flat on Andrea's car. Tonight will begin the first night of Stanley's total confinement to our area. With the dogs here this evening. the confinement begins.
Morning, rained earlier, thunderstorms this afternoon, hoping it clears for tonight ..
Sharon wonderful news that the trips is back on, am sure airports have a zillion Covid checks so you should be ok.
So many lives lost because of extreme heat, not sure of the numbers but for some reason 57 rings a bell, could be wrong.
Pat will this whelping box be in your bedroom?
Need to get cobwebs out of my head, bath, coffee and might read more of Myles’ novel
Sad to say an acquaintance’s husband committed suicide yesterday..father of the young boy who stabbed Noah years back..not a wonder there were 10 police cars, ambulance and fire truck out..
Times are hard for many..
Sorry to hear that Betty. Times are difficult for all.
Betty, no the whelping box was put in Aiden's bedroom as he is gone for the next 5 weeks. NO way would allow any of the dogs in my area. This is Stanley safe area and on that I am unbendable.
I've strained a back muscle and I am in agony. This has been a problem off & on for years. When I don't sit back in a chair, with my back firmly supported, eventually my back rebels. If I baby it, and I am very careful, it will be much better in a day or two.
Suicide is such a painful thing for everyone involved. Any death of a loved one is hard enough, but it is compounded when the person takes their own life. When someone takes their own life, it increases exponentially the odds of another family member doing the same thing. I guess after working in suicide evaluation & involuntary hospitalizations, it is not surprising I have strong feelings about suicide.
Can’t imagine what you’ve seen in your field of work..
Stanley May adapt as moths roll by to the dogs and they to him..he has had run of the house/king if the house and might want to continue doing so.
We lost an officer of 31 years, senseless killing
I tried for weeks to have Nova & Stanley tolerate each other & finally gave up. Maybe it will happen but I don't have the time or energy to work on that again for now.
I got to see the puppies for the first time in person. Some are getting their eyes open. Nova looks so TIRED, poor sweetie. (Or maybe the is me projecting?? LOL)
Will be interesting to see Pat, one day they might surprise you..is Stanley an affection cat..Ziggy is with me when HE wants to be but not overly social when people come in unless it’s the sewing gals
Just got back from the arch Stakehouse with Sharon and Don, was his treat, got to tell you I do not enjoy eating a $60 per plate of food, yes was good but I kept thinking add tip and desert to it and it’s groceries for a week.
We went early as Sharon has to be home for as close to 6:30 as she can for Inuk’s needle..stated to rain on our way home so guess fireworks are cancelled again..
Watching Christmas in July Christmas movies..guess you would all smack me if I said it’s coming lol
Maybe I’ll crawl into bed and read some of Myle’s book
Goodness your photos are spectacular so the actual event must have been INCREDIBLE!
Stanley is a complete attention suck! He LOVES attention and wants it from EVERYONE. He has his favorite people, but on the whole, he just thinks he should be petted and adored by everyone. One of my friends admitted that he normally doesn't like cats because they are so aloof etc. He admits that Stanley is winning him over with his constant show of affection.
A day of "doing nothing", sitting in a supportive chair, swallowing anti-inflammatory pills, and I feel so much better!! TOMORROW I will get the closet rod up and my bedroom put to right.
Morning, rain overnight, mostly sunny day ahead.
Pat, maybe another day of resting might help..are you still getting extreme heat?
Dianne, was it quiet on the lake this long weekend?
Meant to say supper was so quaint last night, the arch had large wedding tents set up with tables covered with whit linen, flowers, green potted shrubs corralling you into your separate garden room, lights galore..their restaurant is behind little lake and secluded by tree’d lot, felt like I was eating in Paris..
Quiet weekend ahead, might puts in the craft room...what to do?what to do ? To fill my day..linda’s Birthday on 18th, might finish her house sign she wanted repaired and make her a few shopping bags, that could fill in the weekend
Maybe I should go to town now, need a few things before tourists are out browsing
I am doing MUCH better, anti-inflammatory medication, and being very mindful of proper support has eliminated most of the pain. I did NOTHING yesterday but sit and read. Hopefully I will at least get the closet rod up so I can start to restore my bedroom.
,
We are getting 100 degree weather, that is tolerable here. The 115 is gone, thank goodness! With our heat, extreme dryness, our 4th of July fire works always scares me!!! I am a party pooper. I would be happy if people would just celebrate with picnics and parades and bypass the fireworks!
Yes, I had difficulties earlier. My SIL Sharon came over to visit, we got up the closet rod & started to get my bedroom back up and working! Still hoping to get the art up.
Dogs and I are sitting in my bedroom in my big overstuffed chair. This chair is becoming a daily happening in my life. If it is to hot, we retreat to the chair. That way both dogs can sit by me and I only have to cool down my bedroom instead the whole other end of the house.
Garden helper came back this morning and finished what he did not get done on Thursday. He had hurt his back on Wednesday and about 4 on Thursday, he was in pain and had to stop. Temperature is currently 99. Our low will be 84.
Pat, you are a trooper. My cats and dogs get along but my daughter brought over a French Bulldog she was babysitting and both cats ran and hid and did not come out until the dog left. Cats are weird that way.
My sister moved from the h0me she shared with her husband and moved back into her condo. She was totally over whelmed. I told her to take one box at a time and if anything needed to go upstairs, put it in a box on the bottom stair. I spoke with her lat night, which was the second day and she said she was very tired but the one box at a time helped. She has been gone from her condo for close to 13 years. Her children have had the total condo painted, new carpet and new windows. Carpet only in the two bedrooms upstairs. Wood floors downstairs.
happy July 4th everyone just incase I can’t access the site..DG must be having server difficulties..wouldn’t want to miss your special day.
Whatever you have planned may it make you happy..
Pat, whatever will you do when all this work is behind you..had a lazy on, Kyle dropped in, mom phoned, Marie came for a visit, Cathy called so it passed the afternoon.
Has chicken souvlaki and rice, when will I learn, did bbq skewers did them in frying pan with oil..stomach topsy turvy.. will make sure everything is off for the night, havehot bath andbed
Betty, I think I have asked before. Have you had your gall bladder or pancreas checked out. Both with make your tummy turn when eating greasy food.
I had problems logging on earlier too.
Sharon, your sister's condo sounds so fresh & new! All that paint & new floors, WOW!! Good advice, 1 box at a time.
I got a lot more done in my bedroom today. Took out a lamp that is not needed, swapped out nightstands to one I like better, GOT THE ART UP!!! It's not perfect but pleasant. I will like it even better when the pink & black quilt can go on the bed. I bought an electric seam ripper (looks like a shaver) so I can pick out LOTS of quilting that went wrong.... *sigh*.... never rush when working on a long arm! This was over a year ago and I am finally getting to it. (hehehe... NOW I want the quilt on my bed)
I will NEVER run out of work to do!!! If I thought there was "breathing room", I would just add more to the list. It is my nature and I have had to move to acceptance. It is who I am. It's like telling Betty "not to overdo!" I am sure we both try to operate in more moderate terms, but it's difficult.
My SIL Sharon is going out of town again later next week and I am designated waterer again. Today we painted the 3 wood sasquatches she cut out (one is out of whole sheet of 4x8 plywood, that will tell you how big this thing is!) . They are part of the party decorations for her grandson's Bday camping party.
Morning, did get on
HAPPY 4TH of JULY EVERYONE!!!
Sunshine day, wind is up and grass still so wet, thinking of heading to gas station to get gas for lawnmower and just maybe see if some of the w
ood in the pit will burn, should go get bag of marshmallows and sit and enjoy my Sunday night
Greg called, he had the Moderna vacinne Friday and was quite ill yesterday, will call him and see how he is doing today.
Sharon, your sister’s place sounds wonderful, she will be familiar with the area having lived there before, losing a hubby and moving can be beyond overwhelming.
Best place to be in those temps is in your chair and have a good book to pass the day.
Pat, your sister sure is a lot like you, busy busy gals..you will have to take a photo once you’ve got the bedroom to your liking.her grandson will love the Sasquatches, now to hand paint, mega work..
Greg had a friend who wanted to do something similar, I loaned him my enlarger, he stood the plywood up, set the photo on the enlarger, traced/cut/painted then set it again so the design was on cut piece and marked all the detail, it was spectacular.
Pat, not, had neither out, they said they were fine, during the time I was always in hospital they did take appendix out, dr. Said they just burst but I had no pain, if it wasn’t for one of those attacks I’d never had know I had problems with appendix..must ask doctor to check..would blood tests show either..I had that and he said all was ok
Put another folding shopping bag on the embroidery machine this morning, ready to attach it to the bag, will try and make one a day this week so I can put them in birthday gift packages

Happy Fourth of July !!
It's around 65* with a nice breeze. Beautiful day here.
The caterpillars are still here and after googling I found out that mid July these should be gone and the nests they made will have moths coming out of them. I also read that the rash I have is also caused by my efforts to kill caterpillars with my bare hands. Two fingers on my right hand are still covered in the rash and the swelling has gone down a bit.
Does anyone have any plans for today to celebrate ? My US neighbours are chomping at the bit to get up here to their cottage.
Get my second shot on Tues. morning. There are several in my area who haven't even got their first shot. Sailed through the first one with absolutely no side effects so hope it will be the same with this one.
Betty it was a very quiet weekend here - all the celebrations were cancelled. Even the lake was quiet..
Stay safe and well.
The Sasquatches are all just silhouettes painted in black. I know my niece is putting a different Sasquatch design on EACH of the Tshirts for the kids. She was making a piñata yesterday. A LOT of work for my one child's Bday!! .
Sister In Law Sharon still works full time and is chomping at the bit to retire but is not yet even 62. . She is discouraged and frustrated by the politics of her work. She has always been busy in gardening and crafts, she is a wonderful person & I'm blessed to have her as a friend.
I hope to get pictures of art & puppies later today and will post them.
Afternoon, 78F with a feel like 83F
Just came 8n from cutting grass, just enough in tank to get it done, didn’t feel like going to town to get gas so pleased at that, threw what grass see I had on some areas needing it as we are go8ng to have a rain week, no happy medium...big sigh
Look forward to seeing those photo’s Pat
Lots of work but just think of how the children will get a kick out of it..she can always rent them out??
Dianne, swept the front porch and they are becoming fewer and fewer, we will have to keep an eye on the female nests or we will be bombarded again next year.
Because of humidity there are mosquitos galore, just have to sit on enclosed back deck, how are you enjoying your new screened area..maybe I should contemplate screening front one as well but I don’t use back one why do I need front one?? Maybe I’d sit out more to watch what is happening in neighbourhood..omg Mary sits out front and knows everything and everyone, I just have to ask her..not malicious gossip just that she speak with everyone.
I can just imagine Dianne you neighbours missing cottage life, didn’t they used to spend all summer? Perhaps after stage 3 they will open the border..bet Joann’s is missing me
I only had sore arm in both my shots, now John and Greg both were very ill, just spoke with Greg, he said he feels better and thought he might drop in if he goes for a ride on his spider.
Jeff call and said ‘good morning mom’ and I said it’s afternoon, NOT, when you get up early some days seem like they should be nighttime, he was on his way golfing. Was saying he will try to pick 2 weeks for his annual kayak trip and rent one for each boys and go camping..right now Caleb is at camp taking 24 campers on a 36 day kayak and portage trip..will be his last year, will then start to focus on adulthood.
I’ve made 2 bags of the 3 I want to give Linda in her birthday bag, likely just relax now and do it tomorrow..on my list is baby shower and birthday gift bags and cards, nice that as of last week we can purchase such things.
Ziggy must think I’m ready for a nap, just cuddled next to me and is purring away, that alone will make me nap
How old are they now? Our babies are not yet 2 weeks.
They're 9 weeks old now. I'll be anxious to see pictures of yours. Are their eyes open yet?
Omg they are just too adorable...pool party, can life get any better for them?
Sooo many puppies..
In bed already, these past 4 days are like 5he movie ‘groundhog day’. Endless..
Not that tomorrow will be any different
Hairdresser called this afternoon, booked in for perm and cut but not til the 14th grr
Watched a quick tip, use leaf blower tondo inside of car, get dust/debris out of every where especially those hard to get crevices, say great for cat and dog hair..I’ll be sure to try my battery operated one in the morning if not raining

Betty, I have always used a blower on the inside of my cars if and when I was washing them. One time I used in on the bottom of my refrigerator. My housekeeper told me she would hurt me if I ever did it again. Got the dust out very well but it went everywhere else including on top of the fridge.
I walked the garden today and all of the weeds I pulled two weeks ago are back laughing at me. I will wait for the next cloudy day and attack them again. I did take some photos. I will post.
Pat, so pleased you and your family are making progress. My son and his family were at the lake Saturday and watched the tankers come onto the lake and gather water and then fly off to douse out the fire. He said it was fascinating to watch.
Our neighborhood will probably be quiet this year. Family that caused all of the problems last year have announced that they are taking their fireworks to another area. That is a relief. We actually have extra security guards on tonight to stop what happened last year.
Mom, those are adorable puppies. They have grown so much. Fine dogs.
We are about 103 at 5:30pm. Las Vegas i packed with tourists. Low will be 82. After the sun is behind the mountains, it is actually pleasant. My housekeeper will be here tomorrow. Cleaning the house is getting easier for her because there are rooms I never go into.
Betty, I hope you had a wonderful afternoon. I could not tell if you were laying down for a nap or for night sleep.
ONE puppy has eyes open and is attempting to walk, cuter than all get out to watch him waddle, fall and then scoot.
The rod in the closet came crashing down. The screws are STILL in the wall. I will attempt to pry the supports and shelf off & see what I need to do. ALL my clothes are now in a hemp on the bottom of the closet. *sigh*
Son & his step daughter have left for 4th of July party. I am staying home & hope they will be back in time for the next dog potty break. If there are fireworks & dogs get scared, I do NOT want to be responsible! I already know I am not strong enough to detain them if they don't want to be and I don't trust the fence if they are determined.
The door to my sewing room has swollen & can only be slammed if I want to close it. I have looked in the garage for the manual lathe or the electric lathe, something has got to be done, this is driving me crazy. It's HOT but I have to do something to pick up and clean up in the garage so I can move around and work in there. Marie & I are having a yard sale next weekend and I need to be able to move stuff from barn to garage, price it and get it all ready. REMIND ME, I NEVER want to do this again. PERIOD.
Happy 4th of July everyone.
Quiet here. I imagine it will be quite noisy in an hour or so.
I love the pool party photos. Those puppies are growing quickly.
Sharon, your flowers are beautiful.
Good morning everyone.
It will be in the 90's today and tomorrow with a high humidity level - oh joy ! Then the temperature drops back to the 80's
Hope you had a great 4th of July. I was watching the news last night and they were showing film of packed beaches without a mask in sight.
Oh Deb I loved the pics of the boys. Can you still smell puppy breath off of them ?
Kai has proven to be quite a challenge. He is the 4th Rottie I have had and the other 3 trained quickly. At least he is house broken now. It's difficult to get a down/ stay out of him as he is glued to my leg unless he is out in the bush where he will venture off but I have to be in his eyesight.
Sharon your flowers are lovely to look at. I didn't plant any flowers this year because of the deer and Kai The Hosta is doing well though. The good thing about the Hosta is they can be eaten and they will grow back up. I can't say that about my Oriental lilies.
Looking forward to see Pat's pics of the puppies.
Stay safe and well
Dianne I have been soaking Irish Spring in a spray bottle and then spraying some of my plants. So far so good after they attacked them. Darn Deer. Just have to spray after every rain.
Morning and afternoon all wrapped in to one..
Vicky, I’m going to try your concoction in hopes it helps, might help with caterpillars?? will try anything, see some of my flowers are being eaten so perhaps it will help..I checked my angel trumpet plant, it growing in leaps and bounds but see leaves have holes, something is feasting..the sun doesn’t burnt them with the soap?
Someone told me there was something in red maple caterpillars didn’t like, that ain’t so
My hostas have flowered, almost time to cut tops off, seems early
Sharon, your flowers are outstanding..if I’m complaining of heat/humidity I can just imagine what your temps are..
Are you working on quilts Lindakay?
Guess Karen is enjoying Michigan and family, hope she is taking time for resting.
Dianne, he knows he is the baby and can get away with not listening lol
As it didn’t rain this morning I decided to go sit on lounge chairs, that lasted all of 5 minutes.was sunny butnot under lounge chair so Ms Fancy Pants decided to get her loppers out and cut a few limbs, tried to grab the limb, while holding tried to open loppers, didn’t work, fell off chair, landed on knees while head hit the settee, sat there for awhile then upand at it...
Decided all the limbs in the fire pit needed burning..had the hose hosing everything Dow, funny fire department didn’t come. I was smart enough to take 1/2 off the pile..
Wouldn’t you know i’d pick one of the warmest days to work outside, got the fire pit that was full of limbs from storm burnt,
Could really have quartered the load, kept skitter away...carried the biggest trunk of pine that Ted next door and pulled and cut on Saturday, was able to cut branches off, was so dry it burned quickly BUT the main trunk will take a few burnings, also picked a wheel barrel full of limbs from last week’s storm.
That should have been it for the day but no, started lopping off tree limbs, those will have to dry up first..
Omg while watering all the trees near the fire I happened to notice the caterpillars left the front trees but are now attacking the trees in backyard..the trunk is covered with them..I sprayed them off but as quick as I did they were back..just sick about it..
had a hot bath and now laying on couch for an hour to reenergize
