That is wonderful news Karen..
Maybe with shortage of doctors they should make more nurses ‘nurse practitioners’ know we have several in midland and heard nothing but great things about them.
Hungry but not hungry, perhaps it’s just laziness lol
Will cook a stuffed turkey roll tomorrow as mom just called to say she would be here mid afternoon.
How are the puppies doing Deb? Sharon lost one and the 2nd she is working as hard as she can to save it.
Pat hoping you can post photo of your son’s litter..
Dianne, how are you doing, TH keeping you busy wanting to go out for their walks seeing we’ve had almost perfect weather.
Best I go check 9n Ziggy, last night he wouldn’t come in, I checked hourly calling and no go, about 1 I walked the gardens and saw him, tried to bring him in by lifting him up and he went wild, an hour later I went to check and there he was, wanting in..this morning he got off the bed and went to lay on back bedroom bed, hasn’t been off it..
On my bed I saw blood, seeing I had the whipper sniper cord hit my legs thought maybe it was me bleeding as 8m restless during night so could be..went and petted him several times and he seems ok, maybe I should shoo him off bed to make sure all is ok...
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..newcomers always welcome..
Accckkk... PETS! It's a wonder we get ANY sleep, they are worse than little kids!
Betty, you need to watch cat wounds. Sometimes you cannot see them and they get infected inside out. By the time you find them, it is a mess of infection. Did you get scratched. Cat scratches are not good on humans either.
Cats are so infuriating because you are only trying to keep them safe and thy just ignore you. Peanut, who looks just like your Ziggy, did the same hing yesterday except it was during the hottest part of the day. She came to the patio but would not come into the house. Yesterday I didn't even walk the dogs until around 7:30pm because of the heat. Even then it was 104 but the sun was behind the mountains, so no direct sun beating down on us.
Betty the Golden Knights from Vegas won, so they are now tied 2-2. Now they play here Tuesday. I do not watch the games because they make me very nervous, but 3 individuals from the team live in the neighborhood, so that is the reason for my interest.
Karen, I am so pleased your legs are better. What a relief for you and all of your friends here. Vern and I saw a Nurse Practitioner for years and loved and respected her. When she left the group we went to, we said we would follow her but she went to a baby doctor's office. It takes 4 years of medical training to become a nurse practitioner. About $80,000. You go to medical school.
Betty, I am hoping the other puppy makes it. So much energy and time it will take Sharon to do so.
Pat, all you need, with the move, is new puppies. You are totally being blessed with so many challenges, Heavenly Father must not think you have enough to do. Lol....
Karen, what was causing the blisters?
Pat, can't wait to see photos of those puppies.
Happy birthday Liz. Hope you have an awesome day.
Oh how precious.
Thanks for the photo.
Oh Pat they are adorable. I try not to be tempted but I possibly could by a chocolate.
Linda basically it was due to water retention. It's a bit more to it when you are older.
I attacked it with all I could think of. Don't know which worked but I'm so grateful. Now to concentrate on getting it all healed with no infections.
Morning, sunshine day out there, likely be in mid 70’s so enjoyable..Pat is coming to sew this morning, june has to get her 2nd Covid shot so won’t be here...Pat is hoping to finish her penguin bath towel and maybe get one of the machine embroidered shopping bags I made years ago, less and less stores are providing ANY bags so the ones I make are perfect size, I cut out 3 this morning one for her if she forgot and 2 for me.
Happy Birthday Pat, hope you have a special day, one that you get to relax and take time to smell the roses..
Omg Pat, look at the difference in colour..love the little white one as I love goldens..
I am so thankful Karen when all that water was releasing continually from my body a few weeks ago that it didn’t turn to blisters..body’s work in mysterious ways does it
Lindakay how is your brother doing!
Ziggy got up on the bed, didn’t cuddle in like he usually does and I saw he moved around from Bed to bed, this morning 5:30 he was crying to be in and out so all ok..must have been me bleeding where whipper snapper got me.
Sharon, hurrah for the Knights, hope they win..I was hoping Toronto could have stayed in playoffs as mom’s friend in the city who keeps close eye on her son was head coach but Montreal I think it was won out of that series.
Hope Liz enjoyed her day going down the coast of California highway, beautiful view and great eats..
Mom will be here around 1..first time since Christmas
Pat will be here shortlybest I make myself a coffee

You are right! It is my birthday, I had not noticed. Guess I'd better get with the program and wish my twin brother Happy Birthday!
I have help coming at 1.30. I am moving dressers to different locations. It will be a tough shuffle and it might mean even taking down a shelf I already installed in my bedroom to allow the bedroom door to swing wider into the room to allow the antique to get placed properly.
Last night I finally went thru the whole contents of the 5 drawer filing cabinet. I have a box of stuff to shred and more than 1 full boxes of old office supplies to donate, another to sell. That's after keeping more than enough NEW supplies! How did it get this out of control? LOL I am excited that will give me room to get some stuff out of sewing desks and into the filing cabinet.
I still have the equivalent of 4 shoe boxes full of photos to go thru. . My Ex was big time into genealogy and recently gave me these boxes full of old photos. Many of them have like 5 copies of the same thing (who did he think wanted all these extras?)
Pat, hoping you have a very happy birthday. Had no idea you were a twin. How cool.
Betty, It's my understanding that as long as you are releasing the water, it's not a problem. I was retaining.
New battle......With Spectrum. Our service has been spotty, popping in and out for some time. We mostly all just grumbled about it. I decided a few days ago that it was time to get it fixed once and for all. Something I learned, they know this is happening but unless we call nothing is done. I called and representative said, Oh yes I see where it's going in and out. Made me angry. So my mission...every time it goes out, I call. Started with one service tech Sat. morning. He replaced the modem and fiddled with a few things and had hardly left when it went out again. I called next we got a tech and a supervisor. OK for a bit so I called again. First thing Sun. morning we now have 2 trucks and a supervisor. They left and a couple new trucks. Lots of fussing with cables. Another truck and up the pole again. So now the cable is laying on the ground. Supposedly someone will be here in a few days to run it properly. So far....touch wood...it has not so much as blinked. But I'm ready for them. BTW was also told there are others on the street having problems. So if they knew that, why didn't they work at fixing it sooner?
From what we have seen and read, changing companies really won't make it better. I'll just keep fighting the one we have. Gives me something to do and takes my mind off the healing itching.
Karen, there is a reason for the saying "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" Unfortunately, if a company can under-perform & get away with it, most will. thank you for the bday wishes!
Pat, I intend to squeak as often as necessary.
AND, while you are at it, tell them to discount the cost to off-set all the time it is NOT available that you have been paying for!
Happy birthday Pat. Have a fantastic day.
Karen we have soectrum here too. Our seis so intermittent. We have called so many times, all they find is check their computer. It's working good at our end. Makes me so mad.
Betty, my sister in law called about an hour ago. My brother has done nothing but sleep the past 2 days. The Dr that treated him last night, said his time is close. His breathing is really shallow, and heart rate is extremely slow. Family was told maybe another day or 2.
Yes, Linda K, it certainly sounds like his body is shutting down. He likely will spike a high temperature at the very end as his brain will stop controlling that function. He likely has completely stopped eating as well. I pray his last few days will be pain free, he has been blessed with many family visitors.
Yes, Dr. Said nothing is to be put in feeding tube, other than meds.
I am so glad I went to visit, and I enjoyed the time I spent with him.
Blessings on your brother, Linda. It sounds as though his passing will be easy.
Happy that you got to spend time with him.
Happy Birthday, Pat. How do you miss your own birthday? Sounds like it will be a productive one.
Bob & I have reconciled - he's come up with terms I can live with. We had lunch here, then he came back for dinner. He also helped me weed the veggie garden.
He can't legally (as per the courts) move back until Monday, but at least he's willing to do what's needed for our relationship.
Betty, always worry when we don't see you in the morning. Please let us know you are OK.
Susan, it's easy, just lose track of the day's date!! LOL... I usually only become aware of the date when my twin brother calls me to wish me a happy birthday. Sad huh?? LOL
Hopefully we hear from Betty soon.
Karen, how is the healing going??
Afternoon,
Sorry, where did the day go??
Got up early then mom got up, went through her routine, she left for sharon’s, few hours visit then off to aunt Muriel’s..I’ll not have to cook supper as we’ve plenty of turkey fixings for a day..then I did 2 bath towels for Darlene and John, then linda came for an hour visit and took her 2 hooded bath towels home..just sat to check up onyou all..
Heart goes out to you LindaKay, all so overwhelming, thank God you got to spend quality time with him..hugs..may the Lord take him in his arms so he is no longer in pain.
Susan, the best for you both, let’s hope this experience brings you closer..now let’s hope the witch will allow him to stay away from her..bet you full of joy..
Pat did you do anything special on your birthday? How are the puppies?
Better day for you Karen?
Sharon, we were hoping knights would win last night, big sigh
Cold here with high winds..so sad watching my trees leaves being eaten, some bare..
Hugs Lindakay on your brother passing...prayers for you and yours!
Susan, best of luck and wishes to you. I hope for your sake it works out. If not, I hope you KNOW it and get out. You deserve to be treated with love and respect.
Puppies are doing OK, Nova was checked by the vet yesterday. The movement that Adam was seeing must have been normal contractions after birth etc, no other puppies. Puppies are scheduled for dew-claw removal today. The Dew claws are a BIG hazard with hunting dogs in the brush.
I did not do anything special for my birthday. Adam & Andrea came and left a load, brought 2 of the granddaughters to help. They will be back today with more stuff. I made 2 trips out to homes to get them more boxes. You know how it is, if you pick up "free boxes" you pick up EVERYTHING, whether some of it is something you want or not. We did not need wardrobe boxes and I would rather have not had them to deal with. I need to get busy, there are things I would like to do before they get back here.
LK my sincerest condolences in the passing of your brother. I am so glad you got to spend some time with him.
Great puppy news Pat. Yep those dew claws can be a hazard.
Spent a lot of time killing of gypsy moth caterpillars. They are just devastating the trees. A friend came this morning with his tall loppers to cut back the limbs over the hydro line to the house. When the limbs came down caterpillars were scattered everywhere. I did the quick 2 step killing them off.If you don't they just crawl back up the trees and start chomping away.
Deb how are your pups doing ?
Stay safe and well everyone.
EEEEEeewwww... stomping caterpillars! Necessary but icky!
I too saw on facebook that your brother had passed. I am so glad you got to go visit before his passing..
Thank you everyone.
Yes, he passed early this morning.
Susan, glad to hear you are trying to make things work. Make your rules, and stick too them.
Linda - condolences on the passing of your brother.
Pat, as I told my daughter, I know how to get rid of toxins in my life and as Bob says, we'll take this one day at a time.
I am so sorry for your loss, Linda Kay.
Pups are doing great. Sounds like the lab puppies are thriving, Pat. How are Sharon's pups doing, Betty?
Deb, yep all the puppies and Mom seem to be doing fine. I look forward to seeing them this Sunday.
Puppies, 2 adults & "rat dog", cat, son & wife & 5 kids ALL scheduled to move in this Sunday. I am still sorting & moving things around in my area. Each day I put more in the yard sale pile & move it out to the barn. If my sister wasn't dead set on having a yard sale to get rid of our surplus sewing stuff etc, I would just be hauling it all to donations so it was GONE.
There are things that Andrea (DIL) has been uncommitted about whether she wants them or not, then seems a little miffed that it's still in the house. Yesterday I moved those items out to the garage. If she wants the floor lamps, end tables, office chairs etc, she will need to retrieve them before I sell or rehome them. She is going to find that living room is pretty dark if she doesn't keep the lamps! They changed their mind about the 2nd recliner, I can't move that on my own.
The young men from church came & worked on the fence again. It's almost done. I got help with gate latch on the patio. I watched that video & read instructions 3 times and just could not get it! LOL... done now!
Just 3 more days and I am done with cleaning, wrapping of my BIL's legs every morning. By the time I drive there, prepare him fresh fruit for breakfast and drive home, I've used about 1& half hours of my morning (or more if I need to make grocery or RX stops for him). . Marie comes home late Saturday night, she is having a wonderful time with grandkids. She is finally getting to see the remodeled condo. .
Good morning,
Sun shinning but a week of rain coming,
Lindakay will they have a service for your brother, in person or visual ? Know here minimal numbers can be in attendance..am sure you are having difficult times..hugs
watched the lady across the street washing her house, yes the caterpillars have all but eaten the leaves of the trees, you can virtually hear them, sad state of affairs.p so I will take a run to Canadian tire in midland in a bit and buy a telescopic brush and get all the poop off house and deck from caterpillars..mom wants an outing. I do want to get the house washed, didn’t do it last year, wasn't done last year before so badly in need, now to get energy to do it.
Plan was for aunt Muriel to go home with her for 2 weeks but aunt Muriel isn’t well enough and mom is afraid she will pass away at her house so doesn’t want to take her home.
Mom will be 90 in a few months, with her sister and brother not well then hearing about Bernie she is in a tithed..I haven’t had a visit with her since I visited mother’s day, see a big difference in her.
Bernie is getting his shot at 11 so likely has it by now, tomorrow if he is home I’m driving Sharon to barrie as she is picking up her new vehicle so I will drop mom off at Bernie’s for a visit, I’ve a long list of supplies I need at fabric shop so she can visit then I’ll pick her up.
Her plans is to go home Saturday morning.
Speaking of Saturday I just got a call that dr. land will drop in Saturday around 9:30am so that is good.
Pat and Deb glad pups doing ok..as for Sharon she lost that one and the 2nd that she thought wouldn’t make it with all the care and meds she is giving her is gaining strength so hopefully will make it.
Best I get dressed, just been sitting on couch keeping mom entertained and I want to get a moving.
Darlene and John picked up their grands hooded towels, bought beach towel and regular towel and want Wonder Woman embroidered for a friend of theirs so I ordered the design this morning..
Just got home, RX & groceries this time!
I'll bet the rain will bring a nice break. It's HOT here but my new flowers are doing OK. They are in a more shady spot than what is really expected for those varieties but ....
I don't remember any caterpillar invasion here but years ago we had some kind of "army worm" that destroyed people's beautiful yards. Ate the roots and wiped out whole yards. There was a chemical that was effective but it was utra expensive and NO WHERE within 100 miles of here could it be found!
Back to sorting and decisions. I find every wave thru an area I get more ruthless. This morning is was cases of pop. I don't drink that flavor, I likely will not have either of those 2 people here within 6 months... I don't have room to store stuff like that anymore. It will find a new home.
Only other problem i had in gardens was the lily bug, lost all my orientals and lily’s in that area, omg they over the years cost a fortune and within weeks gone, we were told that once they’ve been we can no longer have Lily’s..sometimes Pat plants will prosper even though they are not in ideal place...I cut more limbs today, know plants need rain, not sure why trees and shrubs are overgrown.
Did take mom to town, we had cheeseburger, fries and gravy about 1:00pm so neither of us want supper..will have to find something light.
Pat, they delivered a dumpster for the lady across the street that is moving this weekend, perhaps that is the way to go..just fill her up..lol
Pat, you have been so busy. Don't over do it.
Yes, they will have a graveside service for my brother. Michigan has open up 100%. I don't think there are restrictions for a funeral.
Betty, enjoy your time with family.
Morning, light rain which will do the gardens a world of good, finally what has turned to hay will get revived to lush grass.
Lindakay, great for members of family to be able to put their loved ones to rest..there are still restrictions here. Heartwarming you got to spend time with him before his passing.
Mom spoke to aunt Muriel for some time last night, I fell asleep before she hung up so not sure what the outcome was, if she still is of the mind she is not well enough to travel to moms..told mom that if she was willing to try but couldn’t stay I’d gladly drive to the city and bring her home.
Mom is still sleeping, i will let her sleep till 9:30, if she is not up by then I will wake her as that will give her an hour to get ready.
Have been downstairs as not to wake her, been sorting through embroidery thread to see what I need, found some gold fabric for Wonder Woman band, I’ll do a mock up before I use the beautiful white towel that Darlene brought.
Seems strange to be able to go out shopping, exciting lol
Just checked on from planter, glad the gypsy moth caterpillars do not like the taste and it’s still alive..
Years ago, my grandfather had those nasty tent worms he called them. He took a long stick. Wrapped some fabric around one end. Soaked it in gas then lit the torch. Hevwent to the trees, and burned the worms out. It scorched the leaves too, what was left of them. The chickens loved the worms.
LindaK, poor trees but frankly they likely recovered faster from the scorching than the worms!
The craziness is in earnest now. LOTS I don't understand and never will about my DIL and her thoughts. I remind myself that this is NOT my monkey, NOT my circus. I can't change her and to just work at getting along. I just try to get myself OUT of the "other side" and keep Stanley locked in my area. I am trying to wrap my head around how they are going to finish packing, cleaning, moving it all here.
Just the physical part of getting Nova and her puppies here, 2 hours away, how are they going to do that? Should I offer to put the seats down in the. CRV, put a mini wading pool in, line it with a sheet, add puppies?? LOL. I have only been to their house twice and that was with a teen in the car with me giving me instructions. It's in the mountains and complicated.
I can't just walk away from my obligations, they were made LONG before A&A were finally committed to a moving date. I still have Phil to take care of. I committed to watering for my SIL while she & all of her family are out of town. My partner at church is out of town & I committed to teaching the lesson Sunday.
There is a BIG part of me that wants to do what I can to "rescue them" and the other part says "how will they learn their lessons if they don't pay the consequences?" Although the actual time line, moving date, was sudden (basically 2 weeks notice!) , the reality of the need to move has been known for MONTHS (YOU ALL KNOW THAT!!! You have heard me "talking" about it for months!)
DEEP breath, off to do what I can, where I can, and keep my commitments. REPEAT "Not my monkey, not my circus."
Pat, it may be a good time for them to learn to be a bit self sufficient. Had to learn that with our grandson & wife. Love them dearly but they will let anyone else do for them that will. You won't always be there and then what will they do?
Moving puppies shouldn't be hard. A dog crate lined with towels or blankets. If it's chilly add a hot water bottle under the towels. They can go for 2 hours without nursing. Mine did 1 hour drives to the vet in a laundry basket lined with towels, until they were big enough to climb out.
oh geeze - got my renewal notice for DG and it says I can pay by CC, debit OR Paypal. When I click the link it only gives Paypal option. I don't Have, nor Want Paypal. It takes awhile to go through, from Canada to US, and I am impatient that way........
Back fro, Barrie, short visit with my brother, left mom there then SHARON to get her new vehicle, fabric shop then home. Imagine by now SHARON will have picked up mom and they are on their way home.
Omgomg I got to fabric shop, know washrooms are closed to public but it would have been a messy smelly shop had she not let me use theirs...it’s the pits when you shop and have to go and no public washrooms..must have told her a dozen times just how thankful I was..know it was inconvenient as only 2 can be in the shop and there was a lineup outside...grrrr
Pat, I’m with the others, they will never learn if you do it all, they have to learn how to manage, find means and ways in difficult situations without you there for support.
Good idea Deb about a hot water bottle under towels to make the puppies more comfortable.
Have hamburger/noodles and cheese cooking, enough for the week, you know me lol so I will go downstairs and put away my sewing purchases..bought 15 lg spools of embroidery thread, some colours I’d likely never use but good to have stock..they had some bags $5 with fabric in them, hoping to make a couple of embroidered shopping bags that get folded into wallet size.
Mom is going home in the morning, if it stops raining there are several plants she would love to go home with for her garden so I will dig them up, if rain continues then it will be morning before she comes..
Picked up my injection meds for doc’s visit at 9:30a.m.
Lazy kind of day
It was already 82 at 8AM and expected to be 100 later today.
I have read everything you ladies have said and I AM taking it to heart!!!
I am done with Phil for today and my SIL's watering. I have NO idea when A&A will get here with the first load. I think I will get pulled pork on to cook in slow pot OUTSIDE on my patio so it doesn't add to the heat in the house. My house is actually chilly. The maintenance I had done on A/C could not have been more timely!
I am going to take a NAP. until they get here, I'll deal with them when they get here. I will stop offering help and if they ASK, I'll think about it seriously before considering it.
