Awwwww
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..newcomers always welcome..
They told Sharon on ultrasound it showed 4, 2 must have been playing hide and seek
That is quite a bunch of puppies. I am just checking in to make sure everyone is feeling better.
It is hot here and I am on here early. I have some financial bookkeeping to get caught up on and I'm going to make that cauliflower rice casserole. Going to do the casserole first. I will let you know how it turns out.
I had a friend that lived to be 103 and a UTI took her down. But the last time I saw her, she was ready to go anyway. She was a client that turned into a friend and had at least three PhD's and was so smart and she just loved me so much. I think I was the daughter she never had.
Susan, my tree would be a very large strong tree with deep, deep roots hugging the earth.
It is hot but dry. Cool in the shade. I will garden after the sun goes behind the mountains.
Six puppies is good return on the stud fee. IT was MIGHTY expensive when Sharon's dog had ONE!
Whoever did the embroidery on the blouses did a beautiful job of coordinating the blouses/designs with the skirts. NICELY done!
LindaK, I am glad your brother is having a good day & you are there for it.
I think I cried all the way to Yakima & then my phone & car would not cooperate and help me find the house. After phoning & texting, I gave it all up and came home. I detoured past Home Depot. I indulged in retail therapy at Home Depot and came home with over $100 worth of flowers.
Adam & Andrea have been told by the former employer that they will waive ALL back rent if they are OUT by 6/27. Their puppies are due 6/23. I hope they can be MOVED IN here completely by 6/20. That would make life easier for them.
Drats, i was sound asleep and firecracker display went off, we have both a fire and water ban..shouldn’t be lighting them off.
Sharon it’s heartwarming when someone takes you as one of their own, Darlene took me over like I’m her mom..love her dearly.
Pat, hugs,.. you’ve been overdoing and likely still not well and you are going at warp speed..time to rest a bit more. Yes I think sharon is very pleased , she likely will have a long night. As for dolls they are juju designs, likely embroidered then fussy cutting parts of blouse
Bother colourfulbut I will finish penguin bathbtowel in the morning
Pat, I am so disappointed for you that you could not find the house where the celebration was being held. But the retail therapy sounds delightful.
Betty, we are in a no fireworks because of the drought. Someone was target shooting the other evening and started a fire they still do not have out. Unlike California, Nevada can burn for miles with no houses being involved. Sorry you go woke up.
I made my cauliflower rice casserole and what a pain. I have not cooked in quite a while and it took me an hour just to prepare what went into the mixture. But I tasted it awhile ago and it is good and does taste just like rice. I will probably not be eating it for dinner because the chicken carcass was my dinner.
Photo was before I put it in casserole dish and topped with two different cheeses and cooked in the oven. I made extra because my neighbors across the street eat low-carb so I made them some.
Betty, did you make the doll clothes? They are very pretty.
I love the puppy photos. I bet she was surprised when she got 6 puppies.
♫♪Happy Birthday, Linda Kay!♪♫ I hope your day is awesome!
Betty - those 6 puppies are adorable!!!!!!!!!
Heading off to Church today for he first time in a year! My friend Pat is picking me up and we're going to her church (might become mine 🙏
It'll feel good to be at worship again.
Thank you Susan.
Enjoy your day.
Morning,
Happy Birthday Lindakay, hope you find joy in your day..
Look yummy Sharon, I have had similar at Mel/greg’s And it does taste like rice..your neighbour will appreciate your gesture...warnings about setting off fireworks were all over but some don’t get it.
Susan, glad you are back for services..time spent with a friend will also give you peace.
Overcast this morning, change in weather brings on headache, took excedrin migraine, a few left and can’t buy in Canada, need a roadtrip soon to USA..
Was so urethras out there this morning that I didn’t want to break silence, had a bath then climbed back into bed..calling for rain tomorrow so best I get up and get grass cut.
I am here and the cauliflower casserole is delicious cold. Tastes just like cold turkey stuffing. Only problem there is it will be calling my name every time I walk by the fridge.
I got a good night's sleep last night after the not so good the night before.
It is 111 here today and to hot for manor beast. I will go out a water a few pots when the sun gets closer to the mountains. Then I get the shade from the greenbelt trees.
Linda, have a wonderful birthday. So pleased you can celebrate it with your brother and family.
Betty, my weather report on you area showing you should be getting rain now, Have they opened up any of your covid restrictions? Just hiding and watching. Last Golden Knights hockey game had 18,300 fans inside and they we all screaming for close to 3 hours. Should be interesting to see if we have a covid outbreak.
Congrats on the puppies!! 6 is a nice size litter!!
I'm so glad your brother is having some good days while you're visiting, LindaKay. Happy Birthday!
Spent most of day in bed, just took a peek at thermostat and it read 76 so put a/c on to 70.. climbed back into bed and Kathy called, she is at the corner and wanted to visit..looks after her mom who has Alzheimer’s so doesn’t get up often so best I get up and gab
Lordy, it’s like a living hell, Kathy, her mom and her sister..sooo glad I live alone.
Speaking of hell, 110f, omg Sharon, you must have to spend most of your time in the house like we do in winter..
Asforcovid, phase 1 opened Friday, not much different except lineups for stores and you can bow buy undies lol. No rain here, hopefully tomorrow, grass is starting to dry as are gardens..big sigh
Undies are good.. LOL
LK a belated Happy Birthday !!! Just getting to see your brother and spend time with him is a great BD present.
We had a real thunder bumper with heavy rain over night. We sure needed the rain, The first clap of thunder was a dozzy and made the TH and I jump. This was Kai's first T&L storm but I just went on with what I was doing so he didn't react to the rest of the storm.
Been fighting dizziness and nausea all weekend. It's definitely not vertigo. When I last talked to the NP she told me to expect this happening because of my concussion.
Deb I had the Rotti whisperer here for help with Kai. She was telling me another Rotti breeder used AI 3 times and each time got 1 pup. How are your boys doing ?
Pat you sure are a busy person. I sure hope you can get everything settled so your DS and DGF with pregnant dog moved in soon. You have a big heart.
How are you feeling Betty ?
Sharon would you please send me the cauliflower rice recipe ? It sounds so good.
LOL... the enormity of the whole making the MOVE is hitting me! They desperately NEED to be 100% out of the house by 6/27 and the puppies are due 6/23. How will make it everything work?? AAAAACCCCKKKK!!! LOL.
My DIL has a history of falling apart with moving and we just can't afford that happening. She basically crawls into a "hole" and cries. It doesn't help any that the 2 older girls have moved in with their bio-dad a couple of months ago. My grandson will be going to his mother's for the summer (she moves to Utah next week) .I think it would smart to ask for help with the move from church friends. Not sure how DIL will take that but I don't know how else we can get it all done. I'll run it past my son today.
Afternoon...just a few drops,of rain..not enough to wet anything..big sigh
Got my 2nd Covid vaccination, glad that is behind me.
Pat, think that is a reasonable request, less stressful on you all..seems you will feel you have to watch every word, you are being supportive with them moving in, big sacrifice, know I could never ever do it...shaking my head..not a wonder you are overwhelmed..l hugs
Dianne you must be getting all the rain, passes us right by. Hope your nausea has now passed, not a nice feeling.
Didn’t have breakfast eats nor lunch, tummy is saying it’s hungry..maybe a western will fill me up.
Pat Grand DIL is the same, we have helped them move twice and she manages to just sit on the floor amidst all the clutter and cry. I have to practically stand over her and say, this must be done by tonight....and it still isn't.
We are going to be 108 today so we will be spending the majority of the day inside. And it will be higher, 111, for the next 4 days. Heat warning. Tourists do not realize you do not sweat in Las Vegas. 5% humidity. So you can get dehydrated very quickly. Warnings given at check in, one in your room and elsewhere around town. Clear blue skies here without a cloud to be seen. Not even a breeze.
Diane, I will get you that recipe . I just had a piece cold for lunch. Several neighbors are coming over and getting figs. Wish I liked figs. but it is a beautiful tree. Sorry you are feeling dizzy and nauseous.
Betty, are you feeling better today. My weather report shows now you will not be getting rain until Friday and then you will get it everyday except Sunday. And your humidity is 51%. I would not be able to breathe in that much humidity. And my hair would be straight.
My granddaughter in Grand Rapids has been offered a job making $100,000. She is currently making $50,000. She called me for advise. She wanted to keep her old job because she could make her own hours and also do her photography shots for businesses on the side. Her husband is in his last year of residency and they owe a ton on his Medical School student loan debt. I told her she needed to grow up, now that she is going to be turning 30, and use her degree. Not what she wanted to hear from grandma but she got the same message from her sister and her father. She has accepted the job.
I sent that because I did not want to lose it.
Vern was never one to do any manual labor. Anytime I had a project that needed his help, he would hurt his back. When we moved, he was not happy about moving, and refused to help. We were moving because the area had turned dangerous and he grocery stores had armed guards. I just felt better moving toward the mountains. Once we got moved he was very happy with the move.
Funny story. My grandson, that is home for this semester, is working at a large corp as an intern and going to the singles wad at church. He is a tall handsome 21 year old, home from his mission, soon to graduate from college and a prime target for husband-hood. He dated one girl for two dates and she asked him where they were going. He said to dinner. She said, no, where is this relationship going? He replied, we are just getting to know each other. She didn't like that answer. He said, Grandma, she was ready to get married.
Sorry, a friend dropped by. We are just about to head inside. Too hot.
I will try to return later.
Hi - court date was put off again, until June 28th, because Victim Services had an old phone # for Bob. He's since talked to them, told him he wants contact and that it's a "green go" for June 28th as a court date. As he called me, I told him what he has 2 more weeks to think about - What he wants, What he needs to do to achieve it, and If he can make it happen & live with it. He knows my wants & needs. Now, let's see if he can figure out if he can live with that. I know that he wants to reconcile. I told him that he's an adult, he can figure it out for himself.
1½ cups milk
2 Tbsp cornstarch
4 cups uncooked cauliflower rice
1 broccoli head, cut into very small florets
1 green bell pepper, finely diced
1 (1½ lb/4½ cups) rotisserie chicken, deboned, meat shredded
½ cup cream cheese
1½ cups shredded aged cheddar cheese, divided
1½ cups shredded fresh mozzarella cheese, divided
4 tsp oregano
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp chili powder, optional
½ tsp ground pepper
½ to 1 tsp sea salt Parsley for garnish
Preheat oven to 400 F. Grease a 13 × 9-inch deep casserole dish.
In a small bowl, mix milk and cornstarch until smooth. In a large bowl, mix the cauliflower rice, broccoli, bell pepper, chicken, milk and cornstarch mixture, cream cheese, 1 cup cheddar, 1 cup mozzarella and all seasonings. Toss to mix thoroughly; transfer to the casserole dish.
Top the casserole with the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to sit for 5 minutes before topping with parsley and serving. Makes 12 servings.

Cheddar Chive Biscuits
Dianne, I used half and half instead of mile and I used regular grated cheese instead of something fancy. I used what I had on hand. I did purchase the mozzarella.
Sharon, 2 dates and the girl wanted to know where it was going,.,. yikes!!! Your granddaughter called you for advise, if she didn't want to hear it, she should not have asked! I am glad to hear she decided to "adult" and take the job.
Karen, I don't think anybody LIKES to move but falling apart sure never helped anything! Where do these people come from?? LOL It's starting here... Adam was so upset that Andrea only managed to get 4 boxes packed this morning. They will figure it out or they won't.
Grandson Aiden & I got the filing cabinet unloaded & moved. I will go through everything and THEN refill it. We got the gate redone & it is wonderful! He moved all the boxes I packed out to the barn. We got the wire strung on the patio. I would liked to have finished but the wind came up and I need to go to HomeDepot and buy more "hangers" for the 2x4s. He returned to Wooten with Andrea, they had come in for Sam's DDS appointment.
Dogs and I took our afternoon walk at 7pm. Probably 100 but the sun has started to go behind the mountains and was not beaming down on us. When we got home, I put the dogs in the house, where cats were already, and proceeded to pull the rest of the snapdragons and violets. Tomorrow is bulk day so they will take extra garbage that is not in their normal containers.
Garbage day is always a motivating factor for me.
Good morning everyone.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes.
I am in the airport waiting for my first part of the trip to go home. My trip was bittersweet, but so glad I made it. Last visit with my brother was last night, he was having a good day. I made him a quilt, and matching throw pillow, and he smiled so big when I gave it too him.
Betty, do you think it is all the hot baths giving you an infection? Years ago, I kept getting UTI's. I was told to take showers, not baths. I haven't had one since.
Susan, good luck with your court date.
Dianne, praying you are feeling better soon.
Pat, you sure have been busy. Praying they get moved on time.
Good morning, a sunshine day for sure, rained about an hour during the night and sun is shinning, to complete the day the girls are coming to sew...been a long time since they’ve been, not sure we will know how to behave.
Thanks for the recipe Sharon, will try it..should have opened DG before heading out to Foodland I could have bought a cauliflower.
It’s a crazy world out there to be dating..destiny, the girl Kyle is seeing has a lot of issues, saw she posted that she regrets making terrible decisions over last few years..does that mean Kyle and the baby?? With all the lovely girls he has dated for years how he could end up with Destiny, someone who is so negative is beyond me...I’d ask him or mention her continual posting of how bad the world is to her but likely he would be defensive, you can’t even carry a conversation with this girl..life won’t be easy.. at least he isn’t marrying her but have moved in together.we will see, sometimes those are the relationships that work...big sigh
Lindakay, safe travels, must be extremely difficult leaving knowing it’s the last time you will see each other..hugs and prayers..don’t think it’s the baths, I’ve had kidney/bladder problems and surgery for both when I was younger, every once in awhile they don’t function properly but will ask the doctor, he is on my list to call today.
I’m first on the route for garbage, if it’s not out by 7 I miss it..next time I go to town I will fill the car with bulk items for the dump..loved it when we used to have twice a year big item pick up.
Pat seems you are both progressing your move..kudos to you both
Susan bet you wanted it to proceed..makes getting on with life more difficult
Dianne did you get the rain last night
Oops girls are here
Pat, I do love the girl but I must say she is a walking pity party and drama queen. She is also very lazy. She's content for her girls to spend the majority of their time at my son and DILs. They are there more than home, especially the youngest as she's not in school yet. It's sad but doesn't seem to bother my grandson so......
it's ok - I spoke to Bob yesterday, and he knows what I need & want for a marriage to continue. It's his choice now.
Your datura will be gorgeous when open Susan..the trumpet angel plant Charlie gave me is about 2 1/2 feet tall, think they are from same plant family?? not sure when I will have flowers, likely not til fall? Will be extremely difficult mending fences with her still being in the park..has the contact ban been lifted?
Kare, it’s hard isn’t it not saying anything..don’t think I’ve lived with anyone who has such hi’s and low’s, guess we will all have to adapt. We in the family are all workers, maybe to extreme, how do you keep in control of your tongue.
Lindakay, did you make it home? Seems the visit just started..how long were you there?
Sharon, has the 1st playoff game start?
I’ve the heat on, toes are freezing, keep this up and I’ll have to find winter socks.. lol
No appetite, made strawberry jello and added berries in it, might be more tempted to eat it..did make myself a strawberry shortcake, Lordy it was delicious, will be my bedtime treat.
Just looked Sharon, Knight won 1st game, hurrah
Yes Betty, Vegas Golden Knights beat Montreal. Next game is Wednesday here in Las Vegas.
I made my trek to the manicurist, Lowe to pick up peat moss and then to Trader Jo's.
Trader Jo's again had uncooked turkey breasts. About $13 but makes at least 4 meals for me. Now I just have to determine when I want to turn the oven on. Maybe I could put it in a pan, on the BBQ, and turn on the side burners and bake it that way. I will try that.
Found another recipe today for a strawberry cream pie. I can substitute Monk Fruit sweetener and make it without the graham cracker crust and I think it will be delicious. and great for my low carb style of eating. I will let you all know.
Why am I cooking. Because it is too hot outside to do anything.
Linda, I am so pleased your got those specials times with your brother. You will always remember his smile when you gave him the quilt and pillow.
Susan, so disappointing on another delay.
Sorry, I had to send it because a neighbor called with a HOA problem. I am in charge of HOA landscaping and he is having a problem with his neighbor's Mesquite tree and I had to explain I am not in charge of homeowners landscape, thank you Heavenly Father...
Pat, I am praying your move goes as planned.
Betty, I am so glad your sewing girls got to come over. I have to take the dogs for their evening walk and then feed them. Hugs to all of you.
Betty - the trumpet angel plant & Datura are the same thing. The only thing is, the Datura I showed is the Datura Metal (with multiple "crinoline-type" petals). The regular Datura has just one "skirt" but grows much larger, and is pure white. The Metal comes in yellow, & purple, that I've seen. The garden center called this white, but it's not the white of the regular datura. Also, the regular datura gets much larger.
Because they couldn't get in touch with Bob, they couldn't lift the no-contact ban. He now has told them he wanted it lifted, but it was too late to have no-contact in place for yesterday so we'll have to wait until June 28th when it goes to court.
Yeah, it's going to be difficult, BUT if he wants to come back to our marital home, he's going to have to agree NOT to contact her. If he agrees to that, then there's hope for us. I'm going to put it to him bluntly - if he agrees to "no contact" with her, what's he going to do to prevent her? Will he ignore her, talk to her & tell her "no contact as per HIS wishes" or will he sneak behind my back OR will he openly declare that he can't stop seeing her? He knows MY wishes.
He phoned Legal Aide apparently, and they said they can't help him until he's been served "papers", so he's going under the misapprehension that I'm at that stage of the game. No, the lawyer was to be to represent ME in court. He's doing a bit of panicking. I just hope this is the wake up call he needed a long time ago.
TBH - I think he's realizing that, at her age, she wouldn't be able to (nor want to) look after a senior. Her father wasn't quite a senior, so Bob's about 7 years older. He's spending his days, not with her, but doing handy work around the Park for three other households. He also apparently spends the majority of his day (except for showers, etc) in the RV with the occasional meal with her. Meals, I would expect of anyone who has anyone as a "guest" on her property.
The RV is a place he can clean as it needs to be, but her place is still untidy & filthy so I've been told. When I was in it months ago it was that way. She's not a housekeeper by any stretch of the imagination. And she's un-hygenic, slovenly, and lazy. This I know for a fact, having seen her day in, and day out, for more than a year. Back in the day, I'd hugged her when she was being abused by her father. She has a sad story, but she's played on it with far too many people for far too long, and people aren't "buying it" anymore. She's been caught in too many obvious lies that others have gotten sick of it all. It just took me (a good Christian) longer to see it. Ah well, every story has an end. Stay tuned for this story's end. Hopefully the "new tale" will be a revised & happier one for Bob & I.
If the new story is not a happier one for Bob & YOU, then hopefully it will be a happier story for YOU and he can be charge of writing his own story without you. If he is still taking meals with her, he has not yet figured it out that he can't have both of you.
I got home at 2 yesterday afternoon. Got home and took a nap, then was in bed my 10.
Betty, I was there for 6 days. It was so hard to leave, and knowing what's coming for him, it gives me peace, know I was able to hug him, and tell him, "until we meet again".
Susan, praying things work out for you.
Beautiful day out there. Sharon wanted me to pick her up in midland, was having her car detaled as she is hoping to trade her van in Friday..got there, appointment is for tomorrow..she is very tired, no sleep with puppies, add she lost a female puppy this morning, not a wonder she is exhausted.
Did some trimming around the gardens, always looks so much better.. I’ll go out this afternoon and do a tad more...
