Well Linda, I do not do much else. But my Dad drilled into my head from the time I was a little child that you quit when you are done, not when you are tired.

Just a clue from Vern when he was ill. He liked people at a distance, not right in his face. Close but not in his space. He liked me on the couch so he could see I was there. And he did not like a crowd. God bless you in this journey.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Deb, the puppies are sure developing beautifully. It's becoming clearer their breed rather than just "puppies". Your accident sounds the other driver is hoping to milk a little something that is NOT your fault.

My son's dog is due 6/23. I am sure he will be taking a day or two off work as he does not want his wife alone at the time of the birthing.

Betty, you must be REALLY feeling rotten to be in bed!

Sharon, my Dad's thing was not too stay too long!! And he was NOT excited about having kids over. If he had his hearing aids in so he could hear YOU, the kids were too loud.

Susan, I hope you are finding some peace and comfort. I am sure you are BUSY.

LindaK, my thoughts & prayers are with it. I do hope his end is less painful and peaceful for everyone's sake.

I am hoping Sharon & I will get the gate complete this evening. If not, I am calling in reinforcements! I usually can read instructions & "get it" but some reason, this gate latch does not make sense to me. I'll ask one of the men in my church to look at it if we can't conquer it tonight.

My hands are pretty miserable today. I think it's the weather (water retention due to heat) and then it never warmed up yesterday! My body does not like swings from 100 to 50!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Linda - sorry to hear about your brother. I hope the pain he's in is managed.
Sharon - sorry that I didn't recognize the joke. My funny bone's not broken, but it does have a fracture...........
Betty & Pat - are you over your nausea yet? Hope you're both feeling tip top soon.

Went out to my garden between morning rain & last night's rain. Pulled some weeds. Found the potatoes, zucchini, lettuce, carrots, onions (green & white) and pumpkins are all sprouting up. My strawberries and of course the raspberries are all doing fine. The raspberries want to take over the garden, of course 😂 Just the beets aren't showing yet.

I had a lovely chat with an investigator via Zoom, and he'd invited me to have a support person join if I wished. A long time friend of ours (Marlene) is a Chair of Pastoral Care, and I chose her as my support person. We've known her since we joined the church in Calgary and have had her over for dinner several times. She knows us well.
The investigator (Wilson) was shocked at some of the things that were said/left out/not commented on, during Bob's & my counselling with a minister of the church. He will be talking to Bob for his "take" on the counselling session, then send his report in to Head Office. He's not sure if he, or another assigned person, will be following up after talking to the two of us & the minister and reporting his findings to the Board. This is likely to be a long drawn out process, but I'm ok with that. I told him that my daughter and God have my back.

It's a grey overcast day, so will likely continue my deep cleaning of the den. It sure needed it. I may have totally messed up my GE Sensor Dry dryer. I washed two "sheepskin" bedside rugs. I forgot to clean the lint trap beforehand, and did, after the first drying. I put them through several times to dry more, and after the 3rd time, I got a sensor message "clean lint filter" It shows up when I turn the dryer on, I put a wet towel in, and it runs for 3 min, tells me it's done and instead of waiting until I remove the towel, shuts down. Normally it gives a soft "beep" every minute or so, upwards of half hour until it shuts down. Now it shuts off almost immediately. I cleaned the filter, even got a microcloth using a plastic rod down into below the lint filter area. It brings up some lint but not a lot. Still, I get the message. I'm going to phone where we got the dryer, and see if they have a vacuum for this dryer. OR maybe I just have to unplug it and let it reset?

Won’t gab, but just read your posts
Still in bed, sooo many hot baths, other than washroom I’m confined to bed, that being said dr. Called me at night, we did online assessment, he felt it was urgent to prescribe something for uti infection as a precaution and not have me wait for blood/urine results..was a quick ride to town, exhausted me..Only a few drops of urine could I provide so likely I have to go back tomorrow if they call

Waving

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - prayers being said for your health improving.
Even a few drops will be enough if they didn't tell you differently.
UTI sounds probable from what you're saying, and the Dr must think so too if he's prescribing these meds.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I hope so Susan, they haven’t called yet to say they need more.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Praying the meds work quickly for you.
Wish I was closer to help do your errands.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, overcast but rain will once again be in the area but blow away from us.
Managed to get garbage out.

Meds do seem to be helping, no sweats this morning
Made toast and hot chocolate, tummy churning though, brought a graffiti bag to bed just incase, so hot yet feet are freezing..thinking if you Lindakay, wearing pj’s you sent me years ago in a swap and socks you sent as well sooo you are looking after me

Debbie could use prayers, they are doing a procedure which might lead to a stent..she or paul will message me

Hope weather is good in your neighbourhood and you have something exciting planned

We open into phase 1 Friday if all stay the same til then.

Sending prayers for Debbie.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Prayers for continuing support for Susan as well as Debbie.
Betty, I am glad you are starting to see some improvement, I hope you get the rest of your recovery complete SOON.
I seem to be over the worse of the funk & nausea. SIL Sharon & I worked on the gate last night & I cooked us dinner.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Just spoke to Duty Council for the Crown, and she's told me that the 1 year of Anger Management can be called "complete" at any time that the counsellor feels I no longer need it. Victim Services is going to try to call Bob & get his input on whether he wants contact or not. I know he wants to reconcile, so that would require contact. If they can't reach him, there is a clause in the Peace Bond that says the No Contact can be rescinded if he later gets in touch with them & says he wants contact.
I know you all have my back, and maybe you're thinking I'm a foolish old woman, but I AM hoping he dumps his relationship with her, and comes back to me, wholeheartedly. It will have to come from him, and no coaching or coaxing from me. We'll have to see what he says & what's told to me on court date of June 14th.

Victoria Harbour, ON

You have to do what is best for you Susan..just hoping end result gives you peace!

Sharon brought me a cold plate and salads, I asked her to put in refrigerator but she insisted I get up and get something into me..even brought desert... ate a bit and rest will be for supper.

Debbiie went through her test, no blood clot or heart issue so that is great news

Thanks for the update on Debbie Betty.

Well another hot, hot day with no breeze. I have the AC on so I do as much as I can outside till about noon then come inside. The TH could care less about going for a walk.

Oh Deb those boys are gorgeous. I can't remember are you keeping them ?

Betty I was in Foodland yesterday getting cold meat and there was quite a line at the deli One guy was quite chatty talking about how he told his wife not to go into the kitchen that he would come and get cold meat and salads. I got a kick out of the guy but some were turning their backs to him. Doesn't take anything to listen and smile. My sweet dad would talk to anyone who looked at him so I made sure when I was in stores and older people were wanting to chat I made sure I engaged.

Always 1 screen that has to be replaced in the screened room. Kieran and his dad are coming to do that in just a bit.

Susan you have to do what is best for you - it is noone else's business. I will support you whatever your decision is.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I had a great day. Weather was cool and no one visited me so I got many little items done. I cleaned my patio glass tables. Deep watered several pots when I realized the root balls had dried out. I attached an auger to a drill and did several large pots that were root bound and no water getting through. I just drilled holes in the soil.

I grilled some chicken thighs and had forgotten how much I enjoy them. I am going to make a cauliflower rice casserole tomorrow and needed some cooked chicken and didn't want to use all of my Costco chicken breast.

Betty, when Vern was alive, he was always getting UTI. I got a test kit that would show if he had one. I also got him cranberry pills and another type of pill, I will try to find the name and with those two he stopped getting UTI. He was prone to them because he was totally inactive. You are just the opposite. Does not make sense. You need to see an urologist.

Pat, so pleased you and your Sharon got the work done on the gate. Also glad you are feeling bad.

Linda, you and your brother are in my prayers. Have a safe trip Thursday.

Susan, we are all on your side and only want you safe and happy. So whatever happens, know that.

Dianne, I am so happy you talk to older seniors in the stores, because I am one of those seniors. My neighbors, that are driving by stop to chat and I always thank them because I do not talk to anyone except the dogs and cars most day. I do speak with my sister in the evening everyday. I am good with my life but it is always enjoyable to speak with a total stranger in the store. My daughter does the same thing. Said she learned it from me.

Hugs to you all. Good morning Betty.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes, I can talk to anyone and do! LOL.

I got a call from Adam, school is out tomorrow, he has to bring stepdaughter in for dentist appointment and plans on bringing part of their shed in with him. They asked how soon I could get moved into "my side" and be ready for them to come. I said I could by this weekend if need be. THAT surprised them! LOL... they thought it would take me 2 weeks. If I get a little help from neighbor guys to move some furniture, I know I can get it done. I can't move the heavy dresser out of the living room or the antique buffet by myself. Adam & Andrea have decided to use my living room furniture and get rid of theirs. THAT will make things easier.

So... I put ads up on "buy nothing" and got rid of one king size mattress (so bunk beds can be set up) & the BBQ (son has several) , tomorrow the buffet leaves so that my antique buffet can be moved into my sewing area. I've been emptying my dresser & closet, I almost have my master bedroom done & should be complete by tomorrow afternoon. Thursday the king size bed frame is being picked up by a friend who needs it.

My sewing room looks like a tornado went thru it but I'll get it set to right before long. Right now it's the stopping off point for everything coming in or going out! Pics are of the buffet that is leaving to make room for my antique buffet.

Morning,
Happy birthday Karen, hope your day is special in every way..

Lindakay, know you are antsy, can’t wait to fly out tomorrow, who will you stay with..praying your brother is having pain free days.

Sharon, I have kidney atrophy due to a lower blood supply to the kidney(s)and/or loss of nephrons, the basic working units of the kidneys. Chronic infections or blockage of the kidney can also result in uti’swhen I was in late teens spent almost a year in hospital, they would have taken my right kidney out but because the left one had damage as well I was operated, valves replace..sooo each time I get them just have to fight them off. When things open up I might call Bala which is one of the largest cranberry farms there is to see if they have undiluted cranberry juice.not a wonder people stop by to chat, your gardens are showcase gardens.

Pat, sounds like you’ve made great progress even with being under the weather..you are anxious for them to move in..will it mean less or more work for you?

Dianne I’m with you, I would chat anybody up and there’s no harm in that but so many people look at you as though to say what are you trying to get out of me and these days I don’t know why anyone is in a hurry really no place to go. I to have difficulties with my screens noticed the door screen has a big slit in it, Darlene and John had replaced it last year but I imagine it was the raccoon that did it in. Friday is a big day for us in Ontario, can buy undies and shoes lol but still no hair care..

Carol, love your country gardens, so pretty..you are so ahead of here..sad to say since I’ve been in bed for 5 days I’ve missed the wiegela bloom, peonies etc..so much time in gardens then not to enjoy..

Was up early this morning, Ziggy wanting out so I walked the gardens, so much taken over, couldn’t resist picking up trimmer and cutting some down near pond then felt dizzy so in I came and back into bed..in the photo with metal fairy no longer has the shrub behind it, limbs can wait to be picked up. Had to fill one of the water features as something came through gardens, unit was on its side, luckily the pump fell on its front so it didn’t burn out..

I’m chatted out, nap time

Happy birthday Karen. Hope you have an amazing day.
Beautiful photos of your gardens and blooms.
Yes, I have been antsy for a few days. I can't wait to get there. I will be staying with my sister.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Carol/Starrz - BEAUTIFUL gardens!!!
Betty.... your garden can wait, heal, get well. Do you suppose it was the racoon that knocked over your water feature?

It will definitely mean more work for me. I might occasionally ask for my son to move something or load something into the car but in reality, I don't expect any help on my end. On the other hand... if Adam does leave for truck driving school, then he will have almost a year of driving cross country before his contract ends and he starts to find more local work.

I expect to help pick up the slack at home since Andrea will be re-enrolled in college for the first time in YEARS. They have Alex who will be starting kindergarten. They likely will need some assistance getting him on or off bus depending on her school schedule. We will know more when we know everybody's school schedule. I am hoping to NOT get too tied into their schedule etc so that it restricts my freedom to leave.

We have not discussed meals, I don't expect to share their meals. I am very low carb and it is easier for me to attend to my dietary needs eating independently. Unfortunately, we will be sharing the kitchen and I hope that goes OK. Andrea can be a little sensitive if I do cleaning or dishes, as she will take it as criticism instead of me trying to help and make things easier for her. We'll just have to work it out. We do have 2 refrigerators, I have one in my area.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, When you can come stateside again, Trader Joes carries the pure cranberry juice. Walt drinks it because he likes it.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Someone in the other house asked how old I would be if I started counting backwards at 50. Took some figuring..but I'd be 22. A good age and times for me.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - because it's your kidneys causing you grief, I suppose you can't drink coffee?

It's a quiet, cool-ish day. Hoping for warmer weather. Sat out on my front deck this morning, and had breakfast & coffee. Lots of farm machinery on the roads & in the fields. Seeding is done for all, I believe. This rain's good for the crops-to-be.

Thank you all for your support & love. I appreciate it more than you know.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Hummm... I will have to resort to that Karen! A Happy BDAY!!!

My son says he is 29 with shipping and handling.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Wrote a log one and it went into the Clouds. I will return later.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Awesome hubby took me for a wonderful dinner. Talked to all my kids and messages from rest of family and friends. I'm so very lucky and so loved and spoiled.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear your day was awesome.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, overcast here today, no rain expected.

Lindakay you must soon be on your way, bittersweet visit.

No doubt Karen that your family would surround you with love on your special day as you are truly loved.

Hate that Sharon when you lose a long post, I’ve been trying to copy and paste when I know it will be a long post.

Susan our farmers are hurting here, extreme heat with no rain..walked gardens this morning and plants are hanging their heads.

Pat, big undertaking taking on that responsibility, not sure I could ut will be company for you.

Feeling better today, will stay up for longer periods of time..

Saturday when I could not lift my head off the pillow my headache was so bad I use two of the Covid mask to cover my eyes so no light would get in

after my bath I curled my hair, likely fall out when I set my head on pillow so I took the same two masks in reverse them so that the fabric would keep my curlers in so don’t throw away any old masks when we no longer have to use them they do have a function

I changed 2nd Covid vaccine from July 31 to July 1st, Linda wasn’t satisfied, worries with my health they I might catch it , she called all over and got me one at Zhers in Barrie on Monday at noon, so very thoughtful.

In not feeling well I forgot to tell you Noah had an accident while driving his scooter last week, he and a car came in contact and has bad concussion,,Greg picked him up from hospital and stayed with him a few days, says all he wants to do is sleep..kids (young adult) owns a new suv so why he insists on these other toys is beyond me, Greg brought home Noah’s new motorcycle so he’d not be tempted to drive it
Always something..

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Today I go over to Marie's and get the lowdown on the treatment regime for Phil's leg care. He has graduated from professional weekly wound care, so that is one less MD appointment per week.

The rest of the fence posts for the back yard went up last night. We still need to stretch & string the fencing. I am having trouble with the gate, I likely will buy a new post and start over with that. The actual gate is doing OK but apparently I did not sink the post deep enough. We still need to buy a BIG gate so that a vehicle can get into the back yard. I have leads on several on Marketplace so I am not panicking yet.

I REALLY want to have this fence & all gates done by the end of Saturday night so Adam & Andrea can bring the dogs. They really can't make progress on moving stuff if they have to leave someone behind to take care of dogs. When you live 2 hours away, you can't be gone long when there is NO fenced yard where they live. You are always needing to go home to take the dogs out.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Poor Noah - concussions are nothing to "sneeze" at, and definitely needs to watch his sleeping when he's suffering.

Today I join a Zoom "Art Therapy" one-time meeting. From 1:30 to 3pm.
I have my sketch pad, charcoal, pencils, and pencil crayons. I think I'm set lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about Noah. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.
I made it to Michigan. Then drove to my see my brother. He isn't doing good at all. He has a lot of chest congestion and they have to use some sort of machine to help keep it clear. Everyone was so glad to see each other. Last time I was home was 2016.

Susan, hope you enjoyed your art class.

Betty, when did you get your first vaccine? They have to be so many days apart to be effective.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats, lost a long post, thought my iPad was plugged in, not so it died and there went post

Hugs Lindakay and prayers for your brother

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Poor Noah.... so much youth & energy with little common sense! LOL My nephew Chris, rolled his 4-wheeler a few years back and fractured his leg. He & none of his companions were in any shape to be driving (too much to drink), and had to wait until the next day to go to ER. Awww... as Chris has told his kids & nephews, "If you are gonna be stupid ya gotta be tough" I guess we all did less than smart things as young people, I know I still continue to do them. They are just different now (like climb a ladder when I am alone etc)

Victoria Harbour, ON

You are right Susan, Noah doesn’t drink, perhaps one at Christmas but since his stabbing when he was 15 it’s like he thinks he is invisible..don’t like electronic skateboard that does over 30 mph or motorcycle..having a concussion and brain blood bleed I can attest I’m still searching for words, memory poor, especially when I’m asked to respond quickly with an answer.. big sigh

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Linda, I am so pleased you have arrived to see your brother and family. Big hugs for all of you at this time.

Betty, I am relieved Noah only injured himself nominally. My son, the internist, says motor cycles keep doctors in business. Too many riders killed here in our area weekly.

After reading your symptoms, I called a friend that had nearly the same symptoms. She went to quick care and she also had an UTI. That was a relief on her and my part.

Our heat is picking up. I see on my weather calendar that Betty is getting moisture the next 3 days.

I got on here early just to say hi before everyone went to bed.

Las Vegas Golden Knights hockey team moved up in the Stanley Cup finals. Next they play Montreal. A little US vs Canada on this one Betty.

My son called today and talked to me for 45 minutes. Very unusual for him but he was on a break from a conference and had the time. He and his family just got back from Disney World and he said never again. Way to much money was spent.

I cleaned out my lettuce/turnip bowl yesterday and got two nice turnips. One already eaten and the other to night. Planted at the wrong time of year but did get some nice turnips. They are a winter vegetable here.I need to mark that on my phone appointment calendar.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all

We did get rain but just a tease.. here is hoping next rainfall lasts for hours

Karen, just want to say,I read the veterans note to you and you could feel the pain he is still going through even after so many years..proud to say I know you!!

Susan how is your art class going..been years since I sketched, think last time it was Noah I did, maybe I will take my supplies out and practice a little so when great grandson arrives I can sketch him.very amateurish but resemblance

Lindakay how is your brother this evening and how are you going?

Dianne, have you been getting rain, at least the humidity is down..TH must enjoy their walks now.

Deb, Sharon’s dog Hope should have her puppies (4) in a few days so Sharon is preparing..likely a c section..she bought a unit meant for gardens and cut areas for Hope to easily get in and out, pretty cool

Sharon, glad to hear your friend was able to be diagnosed and meds I would assume..know in these times UTI is small stuff but it has really hit me...spent a little time out of bed but should have been more..maybe tomorrow

Yeah Montreal, yeah Las Vegas

my "art class" was actually a bit of therapy class. An art student at the University held it. It was one class, 1 1/2 hours long. It was fun. On Zoom, and there were 4 of us, plus the teacher, made 5. First, we were asked to doodle with our non-dominant hand, and switch back & forth. Then, if we wished, we could show it to everyone (we all did). Mine was a vine that sorta looked like a sapling with leaves all over. Then she asked us to draw a tree that we could associate with being ourselves. Again, I drew 2 trees, entwined with each other. I called it a "marriage tree". We were to explain both drawings and why we drew them.
This class was for Senior's Week, and was free.

Today I was working on the AGLC (Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Commission) paperwork for our Wellness group. ugh........... 1st year doing it, and I'm lost. Well, they did say I could call in for help. I just have to get all the paperwork together. This is because as a Charitable Non-Profit organization, we can have a Casino fundraiser at the casino in Red Deer. Didn't have it last year, and maybe will have it this year, I don't know. So much has changed in the past year.

LindaK, I hope you are enjoying your time with family.

Betty, UTI can REALLY kick butt. I always suspected a UTI when one of my clients were suddenly "not themselves", it can really create cognitive issues & hallucinations.

Adam & Andrea said the Park showed up today and offered to forgive past due rent if they would be completely out by the 27 of this month. They are hustling and so am I. My house is a disaster but I am getting stuff out of the other half of the house as fast as possible. Sometimes that means piling it in the sewing room. Stanley is not real happy with all the chaos, people in & out with stuff getting moved.

Saturday Ben's family is having a graduation party for his great-niece and I will visit. I have LOTS to do at home but I won't pass up an opportunity to see step-daughters & more family, it's just a little less than 2 hours away..

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, that note is common for the Vietnam veterans. Most of the vets are appreciative, but the Nam vets just fall apart. They tell us horrid things that were said and done to them when they came home. Over 50 years and they are finally getting the thanks they so richly deserve and can put aside some of the pain.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone. Yesterday was a very nice visit with my brother Jim. He wasn't real congested, and after his sponge bath and a shave, he wanted to get out of bed. They put him in his wheelchair and brought him out to the living room.
Thanks for all the prayers.
Betty, praying you are feeling better soon.

I’m doing so much better, up and at it, did my bed, load of wash, embroidered a penguin face for a hooded towel..thinking of going out and cutting the grass then that is it..
