This morning Bob called - new phone & phone #, so he didn't know that the court date had been extended. Know he was going to ask about coming "home". Gave him the court date change & told him to call the police.

Wasn't sure I'd be good company, but went to Dianne's anyway and we had a lovely afternoon - she listened to my story, then we played crib, and I helped her with her email contact list (add & delete - very odd the way it's set up), then I stayed for dinner. A "simple meal" she said, but that's very fine with me. My meals are simpler now that I'm not trying to impress him with how good it is here.
She gave me some seed potatoes & a Stevia plant. Also something called an "aberitia" (?) perennial flowering plant. Grows low & she says it's lovely.

Glad you had a good friend to visit, and had a good afternoon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning. Sunshine day, might get to 70 today,

How goes the battle today Susan, you are likely just getting ready to get up and brave the day, hope it’s a good one.

Lindakay how is your brother Jim doing? Been praying..

Sharon bet you are enjoying your company, any gamblers that will be heading down into Las Vegas?

Hope Carole, Debbie,Dianne are all enjoying sunshine as I am..great gardening time.

Deb, bet the pups have really grown, how are they doing now that you are back at work? Sharon has 2 females pregnant, the 9ne was just treated, they can see 4 pups, she is hoping all will survive birth..that will be the last time Hope gets bred..think her other dog which is homed by a friend gets tests next week.

Greg and Mel are disappointed that no camping this weekend, Kyle had rented a season spot but he can’t go either.. sad state of affairs

Police patrolling our region 8n boats to make sure those boating are just those going to their cottages or out for food as they live like my cousin Doug in the islands year round...Greg did say he thought they might lessen up so golfers could gold..Greg said Ford know nothing about golfing since Covid, says ford says it’s because patrons golf then get together for a few beers to discuss the game..Greg said they are allowed on site to get carts no more than 15 minutes..cart per person then off premise within 15 minutes..guess if they do change their minds and let them golf Jeff will be a happy camper.

I cut my hair the other day, had bought a home perm cut cut it too short to roll so guess by June 2nd if they open it should be long enough for hairdresser.

Best I not get to comfy or I’ll lose my get up and go

Enjoy your day..

been cleaning in the house, had sprinkler on for awhile, time to move it around, think I’ll take my coffee out and work on those last cement pads..need to feed the birdies as well.

Verona, ON

Good morning. The mosquitoes drove us in. They are terrible. When I was walking with the TH I looked down and my forearm must have had a dozen skeeters on it. I think and I am not complaining but we seemed to have missed black fly season. Need to stock up on Benadryl.

I have 2 chores I want to get done outside today so will be very liberal with the bug spray.

Karen what a lovely picture you posted.

Long weekend here. We used to do a show at Buckhorn for 3 days this weekend. We rented a cottage on a lake and took the dogs with us .It will be interesting to see how busy things are. - our stores here in the village rely on the tourist/cottage trade.

LK your dragonfly mask got another compliment when I was out last. When I told them it was from a friend in Texas they thought that was really something and I told them I was very blessed to know you.

What's everyone up to today ?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Called and made an appointment today. Thought I could wait until my regular visit in July but no. I get blisters on my lower legs just above my ankles from time to time. I have a good Steroid cream that usually helps them heal. They cause intense itching. This time they simply won't heal. They are open and oozing constantly. I keep them covered to try and keep infection away. I suppose it has to do with my diabetes. Arghhh, it's always something. :grumbling: :grumbling:

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

So sorry to hear that Karen. We battled that with Ben over and over, he did not have diabetes.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Had a good night's sleep for a change last night. Can't remember when that last happened. Without sleeping pills

Keeping busy - have a Wellness meeting today with our senior ladies. The paint-by-number is going well. The house is tidy, and I plan on having a Yard Sale not this weekend, but the next. This weekend they changed it from rain & cold to just very cool. I'll take my chances on the next weekend when it's supposed to be +18 & +17celsius

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, the skitters haven’t started here as yet, Sharon said black flies were out..she is having her place sprayed before skitters come..she thought she paid around $150 last year and it lasted all summer, worth it. We also are a tourist town, not sure how it will affect the area with not allowing docking or putting boats in off township ramp nor are the marinas operating, crazy for sure..poor foodland, only steps from the lake..a new place opening near waterfront as well, ice cream parlour, called “with a cherry on top”..have hot dogs and fries, hard times to start something like that..maybe those on bike trails which are open might get wind of it and support it.

Oh Karen, how horrible, you are right, actually Cathy has similar problems and when I see her legs I just want to cry for her..she has diabetes as well..you sure have had a time of it.hugs

Susan, glad you had a good nights rest, that is healing

Have left over beans and put spareribs and baked potatoes in oven, Sharon is 9n her way..we will do lunch

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Today is one of those bad days that I know I will have now & then. Balanced by the good days I suppose. I was supposed to go to a meeting and take minutes, but I just couldn't. I need to stay home right now. I'm so tired of telling people the updates on my issues, and after telling one person she ill-advisedly let some info slip to Bob and told me something that she thought was true & wasn't. Caused problems all 'round.
So, today I'm taking a "me" day & just going to stay home.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good for you Susan...puts a stop to rumour mills and at same time looks after your well-being..I’m so sorry that this happened to you and Bob..at this time in our lives things should be easier.

Tired tonight, had nice meal with Sharon.. she picked up an industrial timer for me that I had ordered for the pond, have to wait til 7:30 to see if I set it right .. I will know I did it right if water feature shuts off and back on in the morning lol

Got an email from Dr. Ho that my unit for my head which is suppose to relax me and help me sleep should be here by 8:00 tomorrow night..don’t know how they do it but will be nice to try out.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, I am relieved to hear you are doing what is best for YOU and not letting "Obligations" overrun your own good judgement.

I got the new internet account up and running!! I lose of services.... now to work on porting the phone to the new service. I will start that tomorrow. Same phone, same phone number.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Guess what? our RV & his car are no longer at Naomi's. Maybe he woke up to the fact that neighbours are NOT happy with him. He's been asking around to hook into someone's Wifi and no one will help him.
I got some advice from Legal Aid that didn't sit well with me, and the police didn't like it much either. It was a Court counsellor, and she said if I accepted 1 year of counselling, and a Peace Bond, I should be able to avoid jail time (WHAT??? for slapping my husband who I felt was being unfaithful???? no justice in that). The officer agreed & said I should demand a lawyer to represent me, not an advisor who he says doesn't know everything. I'll phone Legal Aid tomorrow morning, and get a lawyer.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It's been raining here a few days, and the skeeter are bad here too.
No updates on my brother today. I imagine it will take a few days for them to see the Dr.
Susan, sorry to hear your friend went to tell Bob what you told her. That's not a good friend at all.
Betty, I hope Sharon's dogs deliver healthy pups. Can't wait to see new photos of Debs puppies. I bet they have grown a lot.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan I hope things get better for you soon.
Puppy pictures are ALWAYS a happy bonus!

The teenager boys from church came last night and swept off the tons of helicopter seeds off my roof & out of my gutters. They cleaned out my "empty" pond and the adult leaders worked on my irrigation pump. One is going to build & replace my tiny little ramp from the driveway to the garage. It's only a height of 4 inches but it makes getting things in & out of my house so much easier (hand truck or dolly) and is more gentle on my knees.

My sister gave me her beautiful gray leather electric recliner, got that moved into the house as well. It's BIG and takes a big chunk of my room but I needed a recliner in here for when Stanley & I move into this room full time. It's not a lift chair, just electric. That is much more comfortable than me trying to kick a recliner back or pull on the lever. With Marie's husband in a wheel chair etc, they just didn't have room for this one after Phil got a lift chair.

Lots to do so I need to get on it.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Pat, pretty sure you will love that recliner. I have great difficulty with regular recliners but the electrics are so easy for me.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, well almost afternoon, it’s warm, muggiest and looks like rain but think it will pass over towards Dianne, guess I have to go water as plants are starting to hang their heads down. Maybe I will put a/c on shortly..

Susan I am in awe that they are even considering jail time, what’s with that..I’d say you need a lawyer if that’s the info she is giving you. Rest, garden and look after you.too bad you could go visit your daughter for a bit..Hugs

Lindakay, sure hope your brother is improving..my SIL is starting to eat solids, but going home is unlikely.

I am also looking forward to seeing photo of Debbie’s puppies, they grow so fast.

Lucky you Pat, better to have the recliner and less room if it helps you..

Neighbour got me some pallets, might try and make panels to hide back neighbour

Well, I am going to go water then weed front and ditches, usually done by maintenance company but they can’t do it right now grrr

Hope you are having a grand day

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, Friday of a long weekend and 88 today, rain tomorrow and Monday..

I will take a quick run into town and get groceries and gas for the rider..my goal today is get lawns cut and trimming before the rain comes.

Our Premiere Doug Ford made a few changes as of tomorrow, if percentages go up re getting Covid shots they will introduce a 3 phase initiative..

I’m wondering if Jeff is on the phone booking a tee time for golf and I know greg goes to his camping lot in the morning, boys will be happy. No getting hair done til next phase but still have to wear mask..that was one of the things I was hoping for..I find this Covid aged me 10 years. Big sigh.

most exciting here is an ice cream cafe is opening this morning, might have to take a break.

Hope you all have plans for the weekend..

Good morning. Light drizzling rain here today. Cloudy and cool.
No plans for the weekend.
Praying your covid numbers go down, and vaccine numbers go up.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Good morning, Ladies. I trust all are having a good day.
Tomorrow & Sunday I'll be having a Yard Sale, and making candied jellies & Almond Struesal Cherry Cheesecake today for it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Don’t know where the day went but it went lol

Accomplished almost all I wanted to do today, grass cut and I trimmed til both batteries needed recharging..called my brother in law Lenny to bring back my big weeder to me as I wanted to do the ditches, no sooner had I called that Ray my yard guy came, thought because of Covid regulations he wouldn’t be able to come but he did.,he will do the ditches every 2nd Friday.. I’m pleased with that..Lenny took my weeder back to his house as he needed to trim.

Neighbour will drop over later or in the morning to bring me 4 skids, going to try and make something for the back.

Sharon messaged me, wanted to know if I wanted to go out for ice cream, done in so not tonight.

So that is my day, hope you enjoyed yours

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I've been getting ready for tomorrow's Yard Sale. Now that I've tidied the place up a LOT it's easier to find stuff
Bob came by tonight to pick up some stuff to see him through until June 14th, when my next court date happens. I also packed some of his "necessaries" that he hadn't taken the first 2 times. He thought it was just for a day, then 2 weeks, now it's over 3 weeks more. Oh well. He's still over at her place, pretending to live in the RV & only going in for meals & the washroom. Even her next door neighbour doesn't buy that anymore, and she was trying so hard to help Naomi. No more. Now Catherine is furious with Naomi, seeing the proof of her lies. I found out that when he was trying to stay out of her life & be with me, that she was sending messages to Bob through neighbours asking them to say "Tell Bob I miss him!" Yeah, like I needed her to stir him up again. Well, it did, and he did.

Ah well, tomorrow's the sale, and a friend's bringing some of her stuff to sell too. She lives on an acreage & of course doesn't get a lot of people driving by her place for Yard Sales.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, overcast right now but rain most of the day and same for tomorrow

Susan, do be people come from surrounding areas for garage sales? Best of luck, may you get some extra $$$ while purging.

Have coffee in hand, best I get the weeder in the other hand and get some of the last of the trimming done before rain, might even get to work up a few areas for seeding..the rain would give the seed a good start.

Been so much outside of Kate that I’m not sure how I will entertain myself inside lol

Hope you all enjoy a grand day

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good luck with your yard sale Susan.

Betty, glad to hear you have a yard helper every 2 weeks.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Normally, every May Long Weekend the whole hamlet has Yard Sales but last year we couldn't and this year because we're not "gathering" people are realizing that they can but no one's advertising it.and our Senior Centre,Community Hall & Wellness Group and no street vendors as we usually do either, because of restrictions.
So, some people are still having Yard Sales but not really putting the word out, except by word of mouth. We shall see how it goes. If nothing else, a few will show up & I'll get to spend some time with my friend Dianne who's coming to sell stuff too, with me.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Rlindakay, nee is only doing front ditches..love weeding with my battery operated weeder, but ditches are too difficult but yes that is a great help..you van cut grass as much as you want but until trimming is done it doesn’t look well kept, my opinion only..did get what I needed done, spitting..likely one of those days it just spits enough you can’t be out..

Trying to figure out how I will fill my day.

Susan, spending t8me with Dianne and the sale might just be what you need to lift your spirits..

Big sigh, 10:30 and my tummy is telling me it’s lunch time, what you get when you get up too early lol

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Sorry, things are so busy with the babies, I haven't been here for a while. They turned one month old yesterday.

Good luck with your yard sale, Susan.

Omg Deb, would so love to hug them..I wouldn’t be able to get anything done, would just want to play with them..can’t believe their size already

So thank you for posting photo of them

Sharon, do you still have a Ouse full?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the photos Deb. They are so cute. And growing quickly. I bet they are a handful and keep you busy.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Deb, they are just adorable.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Big graduation party starts in 3 hours. 3pm Pacific time. Weather is crappy. High today is going to be 63. and cloudy. If it keeps it up, party will be moved to inside my home. Good thing I have a large home.

My visit with my sister has been wonderful and I saw my youngest brother yesterday. Brother one year younger than me will be here this afternoon.

My garden helper and garden mow and blow guys have made sure my landscape looks good. Many individuals from my home town will be here and they all want to see my garden.

People showing up early so I will be back later.

Verona, ON

Oh Deb.... puppy breath !!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Have fun Sharon and congrats to the graduate..do hope weather holds off for you!

Dianne are you getting this gloomy day, rain off and on? Better that that hot muggy weather I think, at least for me.

Susan, how did the sale go?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.
Susan, I hope you had a good day yesterday with your friend.
Sharon, I hope you had good weather.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I had some issues with my internet & had to catch up. Praying for good weather, yard sale success and good health. AND thanks for the puppy fix.
I got an estimate for the patio gate.... guess my SisIL and I will be trying that on our own. I don't feel I can spare the $500 for my contractor to do it. I already have all the materials, THAT was labor.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

puppies - so cuddly 💕

I have some new signs for today, so hopefully they will stay up & people will see them and come to the Yard Sale

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

The signs that worked the best for me were out of heavy cardboard. Spray painted them yellow with black lettering. Put holes in top and bottom and tied them to road signs. Not suppose to nail them here and the tying worked real good. In fact I still have the signs from 15 years ago. Surprised nobody stole them.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy, where did the day go??

Started early for me, got inside chores done then went to sharon’s .. we were at 2 nurseries by 10, wanted an extra special one for SIL, I am beyond amazed, basket $34.99-79.99..paid $50 for charlene’s and there was no wow factor to it.

talked to mom on the way to Nursery, she asked if we would pick up a hanger from her for Charlene..made the birthday girl’s birthday.

Bernie had a tote container in aqua blue sitting amongst a pile of totes, thought it was a perfect fit for faux rock water feature I had for decades..spray painted with brown, only colour I had, will let it cure tonight then fill with water in the morning and add the pump. Nowhere near as nice as the rock the Ohio girl’s brought me but a front deck water feature none the less..just what I need right.need another planter to set besides it..

Hope your signage worked Susan, hard time with so many Leary about Covid and restrictions urging them to stay home.

With your knowledge Pat I’m sure with your sisters help you will easy get your project done...I wouldn’t want to be building anything right now, 3x more than normal if not more.

Vickie, that is a great way of doing the signs..no nails here as well. The sell garage sale signs but they are costly..at one time our real estate agents would offer use of their push in the ground sale signs.they had garage sale insert made.

Sunny but wind is up.not sure why but just put A/C on, might shut if off and open the windows.

Moved a bunch of ferns to back of lot as well as a lot of those 8’ -10’ or so standing yellow flowers that are taking over my gardens and looked for sapling in the back bush and planted them as well..although I’m tired I will go out and water before bed in hopes they will survive. Hope it masks the back property line, driving me crazy!

Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze
(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, you have flowers 8 to 10 FEET TALL?? my goodness, what are they??

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

sunflowers????

Yard sale was ok - not spectacular though. Made about $50 over the two days. Better than I did without a yard sale, and got some exercise hauling patio table for 4 and a gateleg table for 4, plus all the walking stuff out & back in, so.......... FREE EXERCISE and got paid for it lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes Pat, they are clusters of yellow flowers on each stem, don’t need supporting. but they are aggressive, been pulling them out of the gardens like crazy, they especially love the pond area..putting them on the back as it doesn’t matter if they take or not..

The white plant, think it’s a type of fleece reaches 6-8ft but not aggressive..massive white flowers, doesn’t have a nice smell, I divided last year and planted in a few areas, will take several years to grow as big as the main ones..

Sorry to hear your sale was less than you hoped for Susan but as you say it’s money you didn’t have and good excessive..

Fireworks just ended, went on for 1/2 hr across the street..Jamie does it every year, last night another group did it and likely tomorrow night..I can here them go8ng on across the area.

Wouldn’t let me attach video nor photos..

Wide awake now
