Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends, old and new..come sit a spell!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We got all the way to 60 today, overcast but NO wind!! We have had some humdinger winds lately!

Susan, I wouldn't put it past Bob to have you go to bed in the BED, him on couch and then he would try to climb back into bed. If the cell phone is on ONE plan and you are paying for it, yep. He needs canceled.

Karen, I understand your concern, and I bet that is painful!!

Most of my falls can be attributed to backing up without looking while outside. Increasingly, I am closer to shuffling than walking. I have a difficult time picking up my feet adequately. I hope to add some gentle chair yoga or something to help with stretching and strengthening. I can not get on the floor, my knees are just too painful.

My tummy is happy. I made with shrimp alfredo with celery & onion instead of pasta, it was delicious. Shrimp is on sale at one of the markets so will get my limit of 2 @ #1 for $3.49.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, I have WAY TOO MANY bags now!! LOL... was interesting construction.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hang in there Susan. We are all here to support you. Have you given him a time and date to be out?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

As always, thoughts are with Susan .. hoping her dilemma is short lived and ends quickly.

Oh my Karen .. hoping all turns out well for your DD .. a very sensitive area to be sure ..
I am trying hard to extend the injection times for Piper, my goal is 5am/pm, but, I betcha Sharon is the same as I am with being ingrained in getting up at a certain time .. my eyes automatically open at 3:50am, so do the dogs who are all on the bed with me .. I have to put on my 'drowsy/happy face' .. and face the day .. the med assignment alone is a 10 minute, or more, slice of time, but even though it's a muddle sometimes, I will do it, as will DH .. Lorna always offers to get up, but it would be much more difficult for her, and, as I said, I am in a routine, so, LOOK OUT LoL

Mother Winter, :-) we, too, have the dang wind, and it has driven our temps WAY down again into the MINUS 20 range with blazing sun ..

Going to attempt cooking a steak in the air fryer so I can add it to a recipe today ..
Had a WEE glitch with the new mic this morning, totally fixed by putting my glasses on !

Stay safe all

~M~

"operator error". I tell people I have a Smart phone & a Dumb operator!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not good news Karen, am sure the kids don’t like worrying you but now she needs treatment she doesn’t want anyone who must know make a slip and tell you so decided to let you know.she will be in my prayers..easier said than done but here is hoping all goes well. You are indeed blessed with Walt..

Susan you are on right track, yep cancelling his phone is in order, a payment you don’t need.. sooo glad it’s sunk in, must have been overwhelming for you knowing the time he was spending with her when you live so close..hugs

Sharon, haven’t fallen of late but I sure do have a lot of bruises..my time to watch is when I get out of bed, seems I don’t take enough time get myself orientated, I now sit on edge of bed for a few seconds..

Light snow, going to be really slippery and lots of falls for people seeing it’s a skating rink out there..

Been to town, it’s quiet considering we go on lockdown at midnight..I had picked doing grout in washroom, needed new brush and specialty spray, bought some and let’s see if it works.know I have one grout stain that won’t come out but oh well..don’t know how the grout get so dirty.

Seems to be good product, have 1/2 done and looks good..I had done it at Christmas so wasn’t all that bad, likely wouldn’t have done it except for pulling my ,to do’

I’ll finish the floor then get back to penguin quilt, sure want to finish it today, likely not because it’s almost noon

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, I wanted to clarify something I posted. What I said about making a list was what I would have told a client if they came to me with the same issue. It is not about lack of forgiveness, it's about holding in the decision making process, what is really happening.

Also, I want to make sure you realize, WHATEVER you decide to do, is YOUR decision. I want you to know I support you in your decision. I just don't want you to feel pushed into choice, or uncomfortable with your choice, worried what someone else might think.

My situation, the reasons for my divorce, were very different than yours. The divorce came after YEARS of unhappiness. This does not appear to be the case with your marriage. You have presented as being happily married with Bob for years now. This has to be such a painful shock, my heart goes out to you.

Just know, I care & so do your many other friends on Dave's Garden. We want the very best for you, you deserve it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Very well said Pat

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I haven't had a fall since just before Christmas. That one was just plain carelessness on my part. I got excited and wasn't careful on the stairs. When I wake, I sit for a bit and then stand for a bit until I feel steady before I take any steps. I am finally pretty good on my own without using my cane. I do still take it along when we go to the store and use it until I get hold of a cart. Trying to walk in the stores and getting better there too.
So glad the weather is warmer, but I'm oh so antsy to go see family. Some are coming to see me before too long so I'll be content with that for now.
Wouldn't it be grand to sit on a sandy beach in the sunshine? Dream on.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Big sigh Karen, wouldn’t that be marvellous
Guess we can dream
Hope it’s not too soon for you to have company, with these variants you can’t be too careful.. blizzard out there, weather changes minute by minute

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Awwwww..... NO. Sitting on the beach involves WALKING to the beach across the sand and I am NOT up to that!! Karen, forgive me for forgetting, I am sure you said - were you going to get the Covid shot? is it necessary now that you have had Covid? Does the shot help protect you from other strains of the Covid? (I think I had heard that the shot did help cover some of the variants)

My most recent fall was a couple of years ago but it was spectacular. In the parking lot of my employment in full view of several coworkers, VERY embarrassing (and painful!)

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Update - still slept on the floor last night, and nothing said between us. The fellow (Don) who worked on the den floor, door, and deck a couple of years ago when we had to build them, called out of the blue to borrow a tool from Bob. Came over and then Bob was gone in the car for an hour'ish.
Within an hour of him coming back, he came into the den, gave me a bit of a shoulder rub and asked if I would be joining him for dinner. I said I would if he wanted me to. He said "of course" told me what the mains were & asked me what veggie I wanted. Told him. Now, we haven't said much of anything unless he initiated - like "what are you looking for, you look puzzled"
I'm hoping that either he has had a good think in the past 6 days, and/or he talked to Don (the carpenter) who's an older man and I think would be good for Bob to have talked to. He's been married some 40+ years I won't ask Bob though

Victoria Harbour, ON

Time will tell Susan..

Was going to ask same about Covid test, all who had the 2nd shot did it give you discomfort?

Sharon just called, Nikki her daughter was on the way to work, whiteouts, someone smashed into her, ambulance taking her to hospital, of course with Covid sharon can’t go and is dependant on news from Nikki.. prayers please

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

prayers for Nikki & Sharon. 🙏

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes, my arm from shoulder to elbow really hurt but it resolved within 24 hours.

It's so hard when we cannot be in person at the hospital for our loved ones. They will be in my prayers.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Sharon, so sorry hoping you get a good report soon. That is so worrisome not knowing.

Walt could stay with me while in the ER. Then when I went to a room it was late anyhow. He could visit the next day. They allowed 1 visitor and shortened hours. Poor guy spent so much time with me.

Dear Heavenly, please bless Sharon and her daughter through this accident's injuries. Betty, please keep us posted.

Susan, he is walking on egg shells hoping you will lighten up. Just give him some rope and maybe he will finally let you know what is going on and you two can work it out or get done with it, one way or the other.

Pat, one of my friends had her second shot and said her arm really hurt and she felt miserable but for only one day. My second shot is March 9th. My shot was the Maderna. (sp). News says first vaccine is 85% protection. Second one just takes that further. Johnson and Johnson one shot s 65% coverage. I like the higher coverage but I am not a Dr.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I had to cut it off because Cecil was insistent that it was dinner time. My neighbor dropped by a kale, white bean, cauliflower, garlic, carrot and tomato soup. It was delicious, especially because I didn't need to make it.

We are going to be in the 70s for the next week except Wednesday and Wednesday will be windy. So I can do a lot of gardening Tuesday and Thursday. I have lobilia and violets in the trunk of my car I need to get in the ground. I got the irises replanted today that had to be moved because of th broken (bent) main line that irrigation lines feed off. Amazing what pressure I now have, now that the water is flowing.

My sister's grandson got engaged today. He is graduated from college and so is she and she is going for her Master degree. They have been dating for over 5 years. Sister is very happy.

Boy I am with you on walking on the beach Pat. Your level of fitness shows up when you try to walk on loose sand. It has been about 5 years sine I have been on a beach and I was in deep trouble if I had to go to far. We were in Newport area and had about 40 steps to get up to the parking area. My sister and I had the biggest laugh with us watching ourselves getting out of the beach area up these stairs. Only way out. And we were not carrying anything.

My flowers of the week. $5.99 for the glads and the other flowers are left over from 2 weeks ago. Carnations last forever.

Thanks for keeping us updated Susan. We all care for you and worry when you don't post.
Karen, keeping your granddaughter in our prayers.
Also sending prayers for Sharon's daughter.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Pat, I have to confess I was wishful thinking. We go to the Outer Banks every year and I don't get to the beach even though we are right there. I cannot walk on the sand either. Last year there was a path and a hill and I didn't even try. I sat on the balcony. Hurts my heart but sand is very difficult to walk on. Son said next summers place is closer to the water so he hopes I can get to the beach.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Today Bob went for a drive, and just now I found out what for - he went to town and took out the last available $$ in the savings account, the only one that's accessible for him, then came home and asked me if I wanted to join him for dinner. I did. He didn't talk about her at all, nor our situation. He now has $450 to his name. He will, of course get his pension each month and that's it. He still refuses to admit that he's been cheating.
In the morning I will call the locksmith & see when the soonest is that he can change the locks. I will call the RCMP if necessary.
I am now looking for my purchase of this home, but even if I can't find the hard copy, I know I have it on my computer as a scanned copy.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yup, I found the paperwork in my email. Not the originals of course, but I keep EVERYTHING.
Obviously I am dealing with a sneak, a liar, and a thief.

So sorry you are going through this Susan.

Betty, I had my second Pfizer shot last week. My arm was sore at the injection site, and I was very fatigued for 4-5 days. I'd come home from work, take care of the dogs and crawl into bed. I slept for almost 12 hours the second night after the shot.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, it’s -12 with a feel like 22 brrr

sorry to hear of this Susan, I’m thinking he is baiting you to see how far he can go..too bad to be fair you hadn’t taken your 1/2 out first, he probably thinks with no $$ you can’t do anything..he has just proven to you how he has turned his back on you, decision now in your court..hugs

Deb, you are feeling ok now though?

Didn’t take me long to get garbage out and get back inside as did Ziggy.
Wondering if garbage men will take my garbage as it isso heavy. Ohh they just stopped, yep they took it..had they not I would have taken another garbage bag and emptied half in it, put them across the road for next pick up.

Didn’t sleep well last night, amber alert in my head was so loud..

With it being Tuesday greg and Mel come for supper so I’m just cooking meat balls and will make spaghetti sauce, even making an apple pie, it’s ready for baking, now I will have all day to work on a scrap St Patrick’s day piece (hoping to quilt it) and sit and hand sew binding on penguin quilt. lazy kind of day

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Goodness, you are up, dinner is almost done, and I am just making coffee. Sure hope the doctors can do something about the noise you keep hearing. I have ringing in my ears, but I can usually ignore it.

Happy birthday Betty
Hope you have an awesome day. 🥳🍰

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I just got a message from Marilyn Penrod on Facebook. She can't get to your Facebook for some reason. So she ask me to tell you happy birthday.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

♫♪Happy Birthday, dear Betty♪♫
hope you have a good day

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I've phoned the RCMP - they will come here & remove Bob & as soon as they arrive, I'm to phone the locksmith to come to change the locks.
I didn't want to post this at the same time as the above. Nasty thing to be posting but I knew you'd want to know what was happening.
Betty - not sure what you mean by "my half". I get my pension in the chequing account and he gets his in the savings account. I transferred funds from Savings into chequing & he has NO access to the chequing account. I left him 1/3 of the funds because I didn't think it was fair to take all the funds plus he would have noticed sooner.

Next week it will be my birthday too 😉

Sharon .. re the 'turning around too quickly', totally a ME thing .. and/or, backing up .. I have started to mend my ways ..I also will be on the search for new shoes, these Crocs are convenient but dangerous ..

Betty has your Sharon heard anything re Nikki .. awful thing to have happen ..

Off and .. ummm .. shuffling LoL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thank you all for birthday greetings, am having a peaceful day..
Pat dropped in unexpectedly, Drats Pat fell when she left, says she didn’t hurt herself, worried

Nikki had concussion, told to stay in bed 3-4:days,msharon will come for supper, will hear more

Susan, hugs..is Bob aware he has to leave? Would be nice if he does without having to have rcmp..I’m clear on $$$ situation, didn’t want him taking what you deserve

Rita here with lunch, will come back after she leaves

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Happy Birthday Betty!! I hope it's a peaceful and wonderful day for you.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I called the RCMP, they suggested going to a "safe house" and I went to the Park Property Manager's. The RCMP came & talked to me, then to Bob. They then came to me & told me that he will stop going to Naomi's and will work on our marriage (not sure I believe him). I stayed for about 3 cups worth of coffee at the PM's then when I came home both Bob & his car are gone. Not sure if he packed anything, but it's nice & quiet here now. After I give everyone an update, I may go for a long nap. I didn't get much/any sleep last night.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, my prayer is that you find peace and comfort. Whether that is with or without Bob.

Verona, ON

Happy Birthday Betty. Chaos, Kai and I wish you peace, love, health and happiness.

Verona, ON

Sun is shining brightly but boy it is cold. Very short, quick walks today with the TH.

(((Susan))) we are all here to support you.

Made a quick run into Foodland to get milk and a piece of dark chocolate in honour of Betty's birthday.

Sharon and M turning around too quickly is something that can set off a vertigo spell for me. I hate getting that feeling.

Stay safe, well and warm.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks very much Dianne for the recipe, I will make it next Tuesday’s dinner with Mel & Greg..perhaps I should make it before to do a test run...wish you lived closer, I’d share my deserts with you.. I think with the wind it’s the coldest day yet this winter.

Susan, you do need a nap, here is hoping all will workout for the best whatever the outcome.

Just got a message from Pat, she said there is no breakage or bruising but I am still concerned..

Sharon dropped in from midland, had been for a scan, just incase she can’t come tonight she took spaghetti sauce home for she and her son Brian, no cooking for her

Rita brought from Timmies a sub, coffee and chocolate cream filled donut..had a great chat, she had to get back to work so left her donut..so if we add the Chelsea bun I took out of freezer last night, 2 donuts and a pie that it will be mega calories.

Jeff messaged me, he will call later..told me he put $$$ in my account and it isn’t for paying bills but to buy something I want..have been looking at 9x12 rugs, just maybe I’ll buy one, that being said it means mega work for me as I always paint the back of an 8’x10’ linoleum for dining room in same pattern as the living room rug..what to do, what to do..
