Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Snowing &Blowing..fireplace on, come sit a spell!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, didn’t snow last night so that was a plus..no shovelling this morning.

Karen sending prayers,”do say I can imagine how he feels, had one when I fell of the bike in Florida’s..do hope they do not have to drill the skull, sometimes that is a must to relieve pressure...with a lot rest that winter I came out of it but I do have after effects, mstruggling: for words..thank God they got him to the hospital and it wasn’t an aneurysm, hopefully by days end they will know what caused it..you all must be,so,frightened, not a thing to leave unattended..more worry for you and your family, just know. They’ve been anxious about you and your hubby.

Thanks for well wishes Sharon,

Drats I read your post and had to type on:the next page and saw Morning, didn’t snow last night so that was a plus..no,shovelling this morning.

I will be back in a bit to sit and re read and post..I ended up on first post on this page and didn’t retain what i read.

Sharon messaged me last night she as well is concerned for her 49 year old son..he has never been married, lives a unite night and worries about Covid..he has been having problems with lymph node under his arm, growth that has been there for 3 months..he called for appointment and can’t get in until April 13th..we both got on his case to go to emerge, say it’s hurting, don’t know if it is, but they likely will get doctor to look at it, maybe even a clinic he has to sit in all day to get an answer..could be putting himself more at risk than getting Covid.

By 2:30 last i I was paining, decided to get up, make hot chocolate and did another 40 minute drive.ho circulation on my feet and climbed into bed and fell deepl into a sleep, did dream a lot, visited aunt Muriel, didn’t wear a mask so had to leave.

Praying for all of you who have someone in need and ask for prayers for my loved ones and those who are struggling and dying in my community,,midland , barrie and Penetanguishene are losing many people.

Prayers for your family, Karen.

Goodness... a 137 bed facility and it has had 66 deaths, 37 active COVID cases.

I hope your nephew is able to get in to the doctor soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes, and new strain in midland/Penetang..one hates to go out

Waypo8nt in Penetang deal with a lot of mentally challenged people and super jail has been hit as well..

Sitting here making split pea soup, (why it asks for chicken broth I don’t know)
knitting in son and working on some frog blocks, did super job cleaning upstairs and am hoping to now work myself downstairs, maybe even find my frog cardboard pattern but before I do made myself a healthy salad.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Any updates Karen?

Sending prayers

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Been told no results until tomorrow. Hard sitting on pins and needles. He claims no injury so we are befuddled as to the cause.

Victoria Harbour, ON

The waiting is the worse.how are you and hubby?

Sometimes it doesn’t take much, something he might not even have noticed.

Sharon’s son Terrry went to emerge, did blood tests, ultra sound/mri and waiting for results, been a long day here as well.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

No blood in spinal fluid. He's been moved from ICU and there are more scans and tests lined up.

New kitty Holly has decided our room is where she would rather be. Ducky isn't crazy about the idea but being tolerant. I'm sure she is preferring my heated blanket. It's ok as long as she doesn't decide to go after my toes in the night. "Someone" put a toy mouse in my slipper through the night.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I am on here to check everyone. Karen I am very pleased your grandson is out of ICU. How are you and hubby feeling. Betty sent a really good thing this morning regarding what to do and not to do if you have Covid and are at home. Good ideas but I do not understand why no pork. Anyone want to explain that.

Betty, I am really surprised you did not get any snow. We also have a lot of deaths. My son' best friend's MIL died Friday from Covid. Circle is getting smaller and smaller as to getting closer to home. Now that I have my first vaccine, now having a problem getting my second. But I am not in a tether. But a whole lot of people are. And again the lectures are coming in from my family.

I got the canna and day lilies dug up today with the help of my daughter. New soil an garden helper will be here tomorrow with another helper to move the soil for my new hill and replenish soil in canna bed. . 3 yards of soil. Have no idea how much soil that is but it cost me $190. Good think I saved money when I was young.

My son and his family will be here in a week from today from Spokane. He was to be playing golf with his friend and their other mutual friend. Do not know what the death of his MIL will do to their plans. If it was me that died, I would want them to play golf. They have been friends since the 6th grade. Las Vegas was a very small town in those days.

Take care you sweet people and I will take before and after photos tomorrow. Hugs, Sharon

Betty, I remember when you had your accident in Florida. That seems like another life.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is good news indeed Karen, step forward, now the long wait for remainder of the tests. Holly knows the best place to be. Yesterday I spent most of day one the couch, noticed something was different but didn’t give it much thought, went to put laundry on and there was one of my big Valentine’s Day heart, found one under quilting frame and the 3rd was still in container..those hearts are big, guess then all the scrambling I was hearing thinking maybe Ziggy was after a Mouse he was just entertaining himself.. my Missy Karen would go after my toes all the time..some good snips. Are you eating more, staying up feeling more yourself ..Walt as well?

Condolences on the death, families mourning their loves ones...as you say, nothing can be done, and his mom like wouldn’t have minded..here we are very limited to funerals, most will have memorial services later..really hard doing it that way, Roger died New Year’s Day, was struggling with his death and getting into a routine, winter months went on and we were only able to bury him mid May and all those feel8ngs came back and it was rough.

I’m with you when I order top soil, have no idea how much I will get when it comes in.. 3 yards I believe is substantial...look forward to photo’s.

Was chatting with Charlie last night he said he was growing angel trumpets and one was for me, not sure if yellow or pink.his at the cottage does very well so I will have to get bags of specialty soil for it. Charlie will plant it.

Yesterday I was out on back deck looking where my gardens are and what they will become come spring, anxious to be out playing in the dirt, guess with having to be at home I’ll be able to sit, watch for weeds to pluck as they come out of the ground lol,
While I was out there I was admiring that the outdoor room looked so pretty covered the way Darlene and John did the windows..bit of a breeze coming in screen door so on my list next time I can to Lens mills I’ll buy the cleat boat window fabric, make.a clear covering and Darlene and John will put the snaps on door..That way I will still see light coming through.

Well I’ve chatted a long time, bewitching hour or hours, been up since 3, not falling asleep so maybe I will bite the bulletin and get up, can take a nape later.

Gab later

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Walt seems much better. I am still stuck in a bad place. Woke up in the night and was sick, then again this morning. I know I need to try to eat but nothing appeals.

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Karen when sick I always like scrambled eggs and toast if ready for that. DH eats chicken noodle soup.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Karen, glad to hear there was "no injury" but know it will be scary to wait on all the tests etc. NOT fun, that is for sure.

Sharon, I don't understand? Why is family lecturing you? Are you not taking proper precautions to their standards or?

The expression "dirt cheap" was not created by anyone who has to buy it!!

While Marie & I were in Post Falls about 1/19, they did the endoscopy and removed a metal corroded "ring" from the esophagus and she has not vommited it since. We are hoping this means no additional surgery will be needed.

Verona, ON

Glorious sunny winter day !! It was fun to walk but this afternoon I will wear snow shoes. The snow is deep enough that Kai sinks into the fresh snow and it is over his head.

Oh Karen you need to get out of that bad place you are in. Sending positive thoughts that things will look up for you and Walt. Can you keep down your Michigan cure ?

I'm going to need some soil brought in this Spring too. I am just going to concentrate on flowers this year.

Betty what are you up to today ? Plenty of things you were told not to do I bet !!

Kai has his first vet visit tomorrow. We are going to a new vet - at least this one answers the phone when you call. I can't go in with Kai and I know that will cause a problem. He is stuck to me like velcro. I have always taught my dogs to bring me their bowl when it is time to eat. Kai has taken that to a whole new level. If I don't take the bowl away from him after he eats he carts it through the house tossing it around. He barks at it and gives the Rotti rumble

LK I hear about something on the news (but for the life of me I can't remember) but it was in Del Rio. I immediately thought of you.

Stay safe and well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sure is hard to believe it’s 2pm, seems I got up a lifetime ago

Like Dianne, the weather is spectacular, was working on projects sitting on couch taking in the heat of the day.

Karen, you say nothing is appealing to you, that is, part of Covid correct? Glad Walt is improving daily..even if it’s not satisfying your taste buds you must force yourself , know that is easier said than done..here, they check and advise where you could have gotten it, do they have a clue?

Waving Vicky,so nice,t,seemyou drop in..when I’m working in the yard and have the dg mileage post I see your sign, know how far away you are from me lol..my go to food is dry toast

Pat, you made,me,smile, is anything dirt cheap? Especially earth..know,I need some and not looking forward to it..even when I order doesn’t seem of the best quality.
Pat when you say corroded ring do you mean a ring they put in her esophagus as treatment or do you really mean a ring, she may have eaten?? wonderful she is feeling better.

Dianne, I can just see you with Mia in tow lol
You are big time spoiling her, not a wonder she will fret with the Vet, vet better have treats for her. Are there many sleds on your bay? Warning people here to stay off

How is the gardening going today Sharon? Hoping it’s nice weather and you aren’t overdoing..

It was asked if hi was behaving myself, that I am just playing with small mindless things to occupy my time manage to get sewn and cut for microwave heating froggy‘s, just need to do decorative stitching on them and tomorrow I can put them together and fill them and they are another monthly challenge will be done.

Not getting very far as Sharon knew I had a whole bag of tan and beiges and needed background fabric so she gave me this morning when she dropped in enough I believe to finish the top with what I have. So intern she was saying she was going to put old sheet on her quilting frame and just play, had an I just found three cheater quilts in the cupboard in the laundry room so she picked one and will play with it she wants to learn random Quilting as she’s great with rulers but doesn’t feel confident with random Quilting so this will be something to do..

June had given me an old fashion little skillet with all the fixings for dessert dripped with chocolate so this morning I took it out and although I’m not hungry for sweets I think I will bake it. The big container of peas soup I made will last forever so I think I will get plastic bags out and fill them and freeze them so that I can take one out here and there, no way I can eat that big pot of soup. ..Was so good but I think I eat enough at lunch that I won’t have to cook supper but I did take out rice and pork to make a nice meal but I can always save that for tomorrow. So that has been my day, getting up so early is not the greatest as you’re trying to put in time and it seems endless so maybe I’ll just have a nap

Gee whiz, have to correct almost every 3rd word when typing on my iPad..maybe Birthday $$ will buy me one 😜

Subject: Suggestions from Dr. Bonnie henry on COVID-19 - a worthy read......

For those of us who have gotten a tad paranoid...

A voice of reason. . . . Be Healthy, be happy and be safe. Dr. Henry is the Provincial Health Officer for British Columbia, the first woman in this position. She is also an associate professor at the University of British Columbia. She has a background in epidemiology and is a specialist in public health and preventive medicine. She is also from PEI.

The Wisdom of Dr. Bonnie Henry

1. We may have to live with COVID-19 for months or years. Let's not deny it or panic. Let's not make our lives useless. Let's learn to live with this fact.

2. You can't destroy COVID-19 viruses that have penetrated cell walls, by drinking gallons of hot water you'll just go to the bathroom more often.

3. Washing hands and maintaining a two-meter physical distance is the best method for your protection.

4. If you don't have a COVID-19 patient at home, there's no need to disinfect the surfaces at your house.

5. Packaged cargo, gas pumps, shopping carts and ATMs do not cause infection, if you wash your hands, live your life as usual.

6. COVID-19 is not a food infection. It is associated with drops of infection like the 'flu. There is no demonstrated risk that COVID-19 is transmitted by food.

7. You can lose your sense of smell with a lot of allergies and viral infections. This is only a non-specific symptom of COVID-19.

8. Once at home, you don't need to change your clothes urgently and go shower! Purity is a virtue, paranoia is not!

9. The COVID-19 virus doesn't hang in the air for long. This is a respiratory droplet infection that requires close contact.

10. The air is clean, you can walk through the gardens and through parks (just keeping your physical protection distance).

11. It is sufficient to use normal soap against COVID-19, not antibacterial soap. This is a virus, not a bacteria.

12. You don't have to worry about your food orders. But you can heat it all up in the microwave if you wish.

13. The chances of bringing COVID-19 home with your shoes is like being struck by lightning twice in a day. I've been working against viruses for 20 years — drop infections don't spread like that!

14. You can't be protected from the virus by taking vinegar, sugarcane juice and ginger! These are for immunity not a cure.

15. Wearing a mask for long periods interferes with your breathing and oxygen levels. Wear it only in crowds.

16. Wearing gloves is also a bad idea; the virus can accumulate into the glove and be easily transmitted if you touch your face.

17. Better just to wash your hands regularly.

18. Immunity is greatly weakened by always staying in a sterile environment.

19. Even if you eat immune boosting foods, please go out of your house regularly to any park/beach.

20. Immunity is increased by EXPOSURE TO PATHOGENS, not by sitting at home and consuming fried/spicy/sugary food and aerated drinks.

21. Be smart and stay informed! Live life sensibly and to the fullest.

22. Be Kind, Be Calm and Be Safe!

Sincerely, Dr. Bonnie Henry

Spoke with Jeff awhile ago, one of the men who worked with him that he had to lay-off in December in the group of 40 died of Covid..58

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

That death is sad Betty. For some strange reason Hispanic individuals have a higher death rate. Las Vegs has a very large Hispanic population and they are the majority of the deaths in younger individuals, like the gentleman above.

Today was very windy but I did get my canna replanted after doctoring the old soil with the new soil. I just about fell and I would have landed into the pool. I immediately changed the direction I was standing and faced the pool and had my back to the wall. Soil did not get here until close to 11.

I finally got the garden helper to the patio upstairs and he finished cutting the ivy, and then washed down everything.I asked him three times and he kept working on something else. I finally got a little stern and told him to stop whatever he was doing and please do what I asked him to do. I went upstairs a little while ago and it looks great. I had to go upstairs because Peanut, the cat, kept getting out and I finally determined she must be getting upstairs, out a open door. The door onto the patio was open.

I told my garden helper that it didn't look like a lot of soil for $190. Then he told me $65 was for delivery. I could have had someone pick it up for less than that.

But i did have a fun day. I dressed with double layers and stayed warm.

Karen I am so pleased your grandson is getting better. I have tried to think what i fed Vern when he didn't feel like eating. Usually a milk shake loaded with bananas and fruit and loads of ice cream. Or I would take a can of chicken noodle soup and put it through the blender. It tasted like the soup but was easier for him to swallow. Actually I could do that with just about any canned soup.

Pat, family is lecturing me because they know I am very independent but I also tell them I am not stupid. I am being very cautious.

It has been a long day and I am going to bed, after a shower. Hope you all had a good night sleep. Good Morning....Sharon

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

The "ring" must have been from a prior surgery but it must have dislodged and become "stuck" where it was. It was NOT where Marie should have had any time of banding. It is difficult to not be stressed by the professionals that would NOT even talk to her about her symptoms and problem. She has been living with this for a LONG time (a couple of years?) and it was just getting worse. Such a wonderful miracle to have it "fixed".

I believe Canna lilies have to be lifted here. Dahlias should be lifted here but I don't. Only the strong survive at my house! Most of my dahlias do come back. I have the same random colors & sizes that I planted a couple of years ago. I have moved some, given some away that I did not like the color.

I did not get any time in besides walking the dog for potty today so did not get to work on the dog/cat relationship. I am hoping Adam can help me with Nova on a leash with IN the sewing room with the cat and just a child's safety gate between them. I won't try this without Adam's help.

The vaccine was literally a drive thru clinic. Never got out of my car!!! I was relieved as I was concerned if the walk from parking into clinic would be too hard on my knee.

Karen, I am praying your grandson continues to improve and that YOU do as well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hurrah pat, so glad that you got your vaccination now there’s less worry for you although still have to be watchful. You would think a doctor would’ve mentioned it to Marie about putting something metal in her throat had to be years ago because I’m sure they’ve come up with plastic or something different synthetics nowadays imagine going through all that pain and now gone.

Sharon you made a lot of headway, mom has IV and it seems to get away on her on the house works its way with the brakes they keep cutting it down but it doesn’t take long it keeps coming back. On the side of my back deck I’m not quite sure what it is it’s not Ivy but it froze like a foot away and I have to have it cut because it gets in the roof eaves and could do damage likely why I have a lesion on the back shed probably that was the reason

No doubt your family because you do things up for haps you shouldn’t but like me I’m too stubborn to stop, once I stop that’ll be the end of me. Well about almost falling at least it would’ve been soft landing providing you of water in the pool lol

Caring would be nice to get the final results on your grandson how long do you think they will keep them in?

Well it’s been another night of it being difficult to sleep, I Ziggy doesn’t seem to be having any problem nothing worse than hearing a kitty deep breathing while you’re wide awake. Should get up and have a hot chocolate and see if I could crawl back to bed and fall asleep can’t keep getting up at this time of morning .
Been chatting with my brother since about two he needs a shoulder operation and he’s worried he’ll lose use of his arm and head rather be dead than do that so we chatted and I didn’t see Sharon drop in so she must be having a good night sleep, that’s good

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, -1C with a feel like -6, sky is dark and snow expected this afternoon and daily for a week, so far not big amount though so that is good.a

Ok, Sandman must have lost my address..spent t8me during the night chatting with my brother..

Karen, any improvement this morning?

Friday’s I give everything an extra go over, have today’s ‘to do’ task, wash tub so that should take no t8me then off to sew..

Sad when the biggest decision of the day is lunch, pea soup agaIn and maybe egg salad or salmon sandwich..

What is your day like??

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am sorry the sleep angels did not find your house last night Betty. I do not who's house they were at, it was NOT mine!! My shoulder and arm were hurting too much to get much sleep last night.

I am working my way thru some projects. Marie has an ottoman that she props up her husband's leg on to make it easier to wrap. I was given a leather ottoman that opens, has storage. I am making a cover for it, so it coordinates with her living room colors, and has a machine washable top.

Yesterday I worked my way thru altering the last of 5 pair of jeans, now I'm cutting up all my wore out jeans into denim quilt blocks.

My grandkids come this evening so I can alter their jeans to a more stylish fit. The "legs are too big". She has such a hard time getting jeans that fit, she turned her nose up at some of her Mom's jeans. I told if not tight enough in the leg, THAT is easily solved!!

Other than more doll clothes and picking up groceries, THAT's about it for me!

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I had a great day but really did not do much. My boyfriend from down the street stopped by to say hello. His name is Ford (Fordham) and he is 6. He actually wanted to see the Koi again. We had a great visit but I had a difficult moment tying to explain why the Koi do not eat when it is cold.

When the Pella window techs were here inspecting my windows, they opened a few I I was astonished how dirty the sill under the window was dirty. The windows open with a handle that twists around and the widows open out not up. So today I opened the windows, took a brush to the sills and then cleaned them with a wet, soapy rag. Thinking now, I would have been better off with a tooth brush. Then I proceeded to go get my blower and blow out all of the bugs that had settled in my garage windows. Each garage window has shutters ad th flies get in between the shutters and the windows and die.

Betty, I am so sorry you didn't get any sleep. I sleep until 9am every morning. I got up early for over 40 years while I was working and I have nothing important enough to get me out of bed early. I go to bed at 10pm but I do take a sleeping aide. In the olden days I was a drinker. When I drank I had no problem sleeping. When I quit drinking, I developed sleep problems. I take a 5mg tablet that is a prescription. But some night the pill does not work and man that is a very long, irritating night, so you have my empathy.

Today was a beautiful day. Tomorrow my irises separating are on my radar as the first thing I am going to do after I walk the dogs. Let's see who shows up to mess up that plan.

Pat, my granddaughters do not wear jeans many times, they want them looser. That is very sweet you are fixing your friends ottoman cover. My neighbor across the street husband is very ill with a type of Parkinson. So I have given them many of my found treasures. And she has taken many of my experiences to heart. Most important was she got help. She was totally wearing herself out. I spoke to her like a grandmother and she sad she would get someone fo once a week. Currently she has someone for 3 times a week.

Karen, so pleased your grandson is getting better. Did you try any of my ideas on something to eat. Praying you are doing better.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Maybe Dianne or Sharon’s Pat..I’m on the prawl..made hot choc and toast, Ziggy is playing with a chenille wire and is being very playful, as we sleeps at the bottom of the bedim sure I’m breaking up his sleep.you are such a good sister, sure it will be perfect for Pat for mary’s needs.

Pat, Seems you so enjoy working with jeans, not fond of doing so, I think the last time I did what’s hen I did appliqué was nature designs on them with different scene.

Ford sounds like a little sweetie, bet you can’t tell him enough information, sops it up..is he in school now? how is the garden coming along?

Mother SHARON, bet your neighbor overworked is finding better now, more time for her having helpers.someone else

Glad I put window tracks and closet mirror doors in the jar for a clean pick..

I will have have to replace front window this spring, seal is broken..not being able to go into stores that sell such things so have to look online for designs and cost..Hope I can find something to size.

Let’s try this sleeping thing again

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, had some freezing rain this morning, few flurries, as wind is up it’s nit a worry on white outs as it is wet.

Been up since 4:45am, feels like afternoon, in fact already have late lunch/early supper on...having a break then will make a cocoanut cream pie and I’m done cooking for the day so guess I can play..

Talking about bored, sat here this morning folding grocery bags to put in grocery bag holder, now that is beyond bored right.

Rita called, said she has been nowhere 8n last few weeks so will bring me a timmies and donut and spend 1/2 hour with me..I’ll give her one of those valentines day pillows

Got my floor washer steamer and did all the upstairs floors, my today task is 2ash all the appliances in laundry room and zinc, I’ll sample that after I have a nap..gradually little corners of the house are being clean and I don’t feel overwhelmed.

Big decision, do I fill the froggies upstairs or downstairs, sometimes I make such a mess..infact I am still picking up birdseed, dropped 1/2 of the bag.. big sigh..

I am BORED..

I made up the list of contents & prices, sent it off to son for translation so I can fill out customs papers. THIS is a job I really dislike!!! Wish I could slough it off to my EX but poor Clayton would never get any of the things he needs.

I will make a trip out to see my Sis & beyond that, who knows?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Is that for a sale Pat?

Been busy, Sharon was here to drop off goodies including Chelsea buns, will be tonight’s treat

Rita was here for 2 1/2 hours, thrilled with that..gave her dishcloths and a some bunny loves you pillow

She showed me a project she would like to do later for her grands so I have something to think about..brought jelly filled donuts and coffee

I had cooked supper before 10 this morning so will warm it up and there goes today.

Wind has died down, not enough snow to shovel so that is a plus.

Had a bag with felt pieces for penny rugs, have enough light coloured that maybe when I’m sitting upstairs I can work on it..something I had already started, maybe I can count the project as one of the “sisters monthly challenge” projects

All and all it’s been a good day!

mmmm Chelsea buns! My mom used to make those occasionally. Haven't had one since she passed. Not something you see in bakeries around here.

Cold and snowy here. Supposed to get to -6 tonight, and even colder for the next few days. More snow tomorrow.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well I finally reached the point I felt I really needed help. Hubby took me to ER and I was worse off than I thought. Very dehydrated even though I was trying hard to drink enough. They had to put a line in my neck and the big worry was my blood pressure kept dropping was at 70/40. Every thing else was as I knew it would be freezing cold. One good thing, they did another Covid test and it was negative. That made the difference as to where they put me. Every one was very nice but I had one nurse who went the extra mile. He was there every day and never rushed when he was with me. He knew how cold I was so he would warm up the IV fluids before hooking them up and they had been in cold storage. It made a huge difference for me. Dr. finally came in after noon and said he felt I could be released if I agreed. He made a few changes in my prescriptions and add a few supplements plus an antibiotic for a bit of a UTI. It's good to be home but the first thing I did was crawl into bed for a nap. I had been kept down most of the time I was there except for the bedside commode as I was a fall risk. A therapist did walk a bit with me and thought I was doing well at that.
I'm going to do my best to stay home and build back up again. I did take exception to one of the nurses constantly telling me I had heart failure because I have a slight murmur. I brought it up to the Dr. because I've had the murmur and no Dr. has ever said much about it. He assured me it was two different issues and not to worry about it. It was NOT heart failure.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Somewhere somehow and honest to God Karen I do not remember seeing that you had gone to the hospital, the biggest of apologies..how about all you guys, did you know?? When did you go in?

Am so glad you went in and now realize just how,I’ll you really were..so question here, if you have Covid and 10-14 days goes by do you or can you when being tested again be negative??

So glad you had someone so compassionate, makes the world of difference..god bless him..was falling asleep but I’m now wide awake after reading your post...Walt nor family were allowed in? You must have been beyond worried being by yourself and being so ill..here is hoping with med changes and getting iv that you will start regaining your strength. As for heart murmur, that is just what you needed, hear this while dealing with Covid.. your machines miss you so on the mend is a must.

Think Deb we get much the same weather, have you found this year a little easier? Are you back at work, I keep forgetting not everyone is on lockdown like us..

as for Chelsea buns I’m going to get sharon’s Recipe, didn’t eat it all, keeping 1/2 for breakfast. She did say she buys a frozen bread, let’s it defrost then cuts up and put in a bunt pan..can’t understand how I’ve gotten this old with no bunt pan lol

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I have not heard of Chelsea buns and will have to research those!

Karen, I do not remember you telling us you had gone to hospital. Is it possible you forgot to tell us because of your grandson ?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Apologies...Once I made the decision that I had to go, we just went. I didn't tell anyone until we were there.
Betty I had had Covid for longer than 2 two weeks by then. I was worried that when they tested again, I would show positive because of antibodies. I don't know how that all works really. Walt could visit me every day but for shortened visiting hours and I could only have one. Had I still been positive, I would have been in the isolation area.

What a scare, Karen. I hope you're feeling better quickly.

I'm going in to work every day. I had one day working from home when they were predicting a heavy snow overnight, but other than that, I'm in the office everyday.

I'd love to have a Chelsea bun recipe. If you get Sharon's, please post it.

Morning all, no shovelling this morning but will later this afternoon as it's starting to fall heavily..as long as wind stays down should be ok..

Karen, were you able to have a good night??

Debbie, will get it from Sharon and post..

Having my coffee and porridge with fruit..just about ready to put my pie crust in oven, guess tonight’s treat will be cocoanut cream..have leftovers from yesterday so no cooking for me today.

Terrible night, not sure what time during night I took bath and decided to cut my hair, not smart, went to curl it this morning and had trouble rolling..its ok, in my world another week or so and it will be right length..

Betty I have as many questions as you do. Bryan was sick first, he brought it from work. Then Jess, Walt and finally me. No one I was around at the wedding has gotten it except for my grandson and he got it at navy training, Much of his group got sick a few days after arriving.
I'm pretty discouraged right now. I had a bad restless night. This morning I was nauseous then sick. I know now that when I feel that way, my blood pressure is too low again. I know there is no way I can keep myself as hydrated as they did there They were pumping into me all the time. They really didn't address what if anything can be done about my blood pressure.

Discouraging for sure, maybe they should have kept you a few days more..I’m not health savvy in any way, other than drinking fluids is there any other way of hydrating yourself...sure wish there were answers, guess you just have to drink continually one glass after each other as it’s a meter of life and death..awful thing to say but yes I very well could be..hugs and prayers..

My woes are so insignificant, but since this last bunch of needles nothing can help ease the pain in my shoulders..haven’t been sleeping so after I had coffee, baked pie crust and toberone brownie I layer down and slept..stormy outside, nothing says I must do anything so might just get an Afghan and spend rest of the day doing zilch, don’t know if that helps or makes matters worse. Think maybe cbd under tongue is worth trying.

Do want to thank you Karen for your updates, as difficult as they may be for you it helps us as we are all so worried..

Karen, maybe if you are MORE DIRECT with your medical providers asking for advice on how to improve the hydration and keep blood pressure up. I have seen water supplements that claim to make "water wetter & increase hydration". The only one I tried was nasty tasting and I was NOT motivated but I did not try to add flavoring to see if it could be improved. Salt frequently INCREASES blood pressure for those with high pressure. Will it help keep lower pressure up?? ASK them.

For a full week we have been feeding the 2 pets on opposite of closed door (per internet advice). So Saturday I put up the child's gate in the doorway of my sewing room. I had Stanley in with me, Nova on a lead with Adam on the other side of gate. Stanley was nervous but doing ok, no vocalizing...until Nova put her front paws on the gate. THEN Stanley immediately hissed and puffed up, Nova dropped back. You should have seen the shocked look on Nova face! She's looking up at Adam "What did I do wrong Dad?"

Pretty much that is how it's going. Nova, friendly and curious, no barking. Stanley is getting much better, but a long way from trusting "the enemy", IE all dogs. We are making progress! By 2022, maybe they can be in the same room unsupervised!!! Lol

THIS morning, I was running late for church, Adam & Nova were asleep in the guest room, so I let Stanley out of his room (but did not confine him to the sewing room). Adam got up, not knowing that Stanly was "loose". Poor Nova got "penned in the hall." Stanley would not let Nova down the hall. I feel better. All indications point to Nova not being prone to try to challenge or chase Stanley. My fear has been Stanley would run, Nova would chase and then all hell would break loose. Running is a good way to invite injury to the cat, what dog can resist? .

I'm just at my wits end. So far today, everything I've tried...and it's not much...I've thrown up. What do I do now?
