Have the doctors ever prescribed a suppository that reduces or eliminates nausea & vomiting? I do not know if you can get it OTC or whether it must be prescribed, CALL THEM immediately. Call the hospital that released you and request they have MD call you back to discuss your concerns and possible meds. OR /and? Call your Primary Care physician and leave a message with their answering service.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Snowing &Blowing..fireplace on, come sit a spell!
Not good at all, am sure each individual is different as to what can be kept down, I remember kidney specialist when I spent my first 6 months 8n hospital couldn’t believe only thing I could keep down were this white powdery little donuts..
Dry toast? Crackers? So frustrating because you know you just have to have something..feel for you, looking for a miracle and there are those in the offing..so pray we must while you and family try looking after you..
As for me, been on couch all day, folding up Afghan and heading to bed
Deb, Sharon says she rarely uses buns but buys frozen bread instead..whatever is easier to purchase.
Waneta who sewed with me til Covid rose it’s ugly head works for foodland in the bakery, I will ask if I can buy a few doz.rolls they use (rise and bake)
Not that I need baked goods but will make a batch this week..
Still have brownie and pie to eat up from today
Had a good day. 70 degrees and the dogs and I spent about 2 hours in the front landscape watering by hand many pots. Roses and trees are starting to bud out. We are only allowed to water once a week.
Karen, I used to make Vern's soup and his heart doctor said to buy him canned soup. Because it was loaded with sodium and he needed to help him retain liquids and push up his blood pressure. My healthy soup was killing him. His blood count was always down and never discovered why.
Karen, my angels are on the way to bring you strength and comfort.
Cecil will not leave me alone. He want to eat. I will try to return. He is sitting behind me and pawing the the back of my shoulder.
Hmmm canned soup is a good idea. I'm calling my primary tomorrow, supposed to see her anyhow and will see if she suggests anything.
Put the canned soup in a blender and puree it. Tastes the same and easier to get down.
Dogs have had their dinner and they are again behind me on my overstuffed chair in my bedroom, already asleep. The life of dog or cat.
Betty, it sounds like you had a restful day. That is wonderful. My granddaughter and her husband live in Grand Rapids, Michigan and they are being dumped on. Her husband has two days off so they ar baking bread and making comfort food.
Pat, my dogs are great with the cats but every once in a while they will chase the black one. So, of course, the black cat walks softly around the dogs. Peanut just comes up to the dogs and rubs up against them.
Photos 1, 2 and 4 are succulents and 33 is my geranium in font by the driveway.
Karen, sorry to hear you had to go to the hospital. Don't hesitate to go to the ER or urgent care if you need too.
Betty, from what I have heard on the news, and those I know that had covid.
Just about everyone that works, when they have had covid, is they have to stay home for at least 2 weeks. You must get a 2nd covid test to show you are negative before going back to work.
Yes, you can still get covid a 2nd time. Even if you have had the vaccine. I have had 2 friends that have had it twice. If you get it after you have had the vaccines, they say the covid is a milder case.
Karen, what has your MD said?
Sandman couldn't make it tonight, major snow storm going on, just looked outside and feel I’m in a snow globe..have to see if anybody I know will be out in town today and can pick up me meds? Should have done it last week on a sunshine day lol
Reasons for having Canned soup vs homemade soup is very interesting, usually stay away from what they put into it but in Karen’s case might be a bonus.
Plants are looking healthy Sharon, your gardens are up to par, beautiful as always while snow covers outs.
I find that leaving dog/cat open to household as there may be a few scraps but they will find their way.
Too funny,, tonight as I got in bed and did the tent thing at the end of the bed to help pain in ankles I’ve taken up some of Ziggy space ,, he moves from end of my bed opthen onto bed mom uses..as I walked to kitchen for piece a pie I looked in on him, says “Ziggy, you’ve no tv watch? so set up hallmark channel for him..getting bad this living alone, talking to the furries and thinking for them..so here I lie with 2 TVs going listening to the storm..no visibility..guess I’ll be out shovelling in a few hours
Sorry you couldn't sleep Betty. Sure wish you could find someone to help you shovel.
Morning every one
Starting my morning with a prayer, do hope you had a restful night Karen and was able to keep liquids down.
-6 here, the minute I put my foot to the floor I grabbed winter clothing and headed outside..it was 5:15am and I didn’t come in until almost 6:30am..about 1 ft of snow, got back area done, pathway to back shed, front deck and walkways... Andrew came few minutes after I came in, just starting to snow and blow again. Big sigh
.
had hot bath /curled my hair, picked my jar ‘to do’ .. cleaning the bedroom mantle, did the wiping down and cleaning all the pieces on it, just made a coffee, not quite 8am so whatever I get done today will be extra and blessing.
Must call pharmacy at 9 to order my meds, a little outing to pick them up will be nice
For those of you getting my weather, be careful out there! Those of you who can play outside I sooo envy you.
I'm almost afraid to say but I feel much better today. I had a rough night, finally gave up and got up. First thing I did was take a Zofran to ward off the nausea. I even feel more energetic today. Still not going to do anything more strenuous than our taxes and call for appt. with Dr.
good to hear BUT Karen, that still sounds like too much to me, let’s say you just call doctors office.
My back muscles still in spasms, seems my just laying down isn’t helping so I will try and do something to see if that helps and including mega breaks.
Lordy it’s one winter wonderland out there..must go to pharmacy, think I will wait till this afternoon so maybe they have their meal out and instead of cooking I’ll get something already made..reminds me, I’ll take a beef/veggie pie out for tomorrow..
Glad you are feeling better Karen. Please talk to your MD about any suggestions they have about the nausea and ways to keep your blood pressure up. Sometimes I think they take for granted that "we already know" when sometimes, we don't.
I honestly do not know how you do it Betty. I could not do the shoveling. I swear they would find my frozen body come spring, in the house if it I had to do that.
My daffodils are about 8 inches out of the ground, tulips are thru the ground, but not by much.
I went to my sister for a little while yesterday. Came home with a car load of clothes she was thinning out. A woman in our community that has had weight loss surgery will by and pick them up.
Between my sister's purchases at thrift store, mine & donation by "buy nothing" woman, my granddaughter ended up with 6 pair of jeans she loves. I only had 4 that were not wanted/not fit. Not too bad!!!
Betty, I already have a call in to my Dr. Waiting on a call back for an appointment.
doubt you will have to wait Karen for your appointment..still keeping things down this morning?
Remember about 3-4 years ago I was in and out of hospital re nausea and dehydration, only way it would stop for a bit was the mixture of pretty potent meds they would inject, sometimes I’d be home a day, few days, week and right back in hospital, they never did find out the problem and it left as quickly as i5 came, now if I am nauseated in any was I panic..they did give me 3 pills, if I started to be nauseated I was to take one...still have them, thankfully I haven’t had to use them
You did well yesterday Pat..imagine having daffodils
Was cold, next time I’m out I must take time to get dressed, from where my nighty ended to my boots was so frozen..enjoy shovelling actually, just not when there is a foot at a time.
Got my meds, went to foodland and got a roast and 4 doz of their bakers rolls tanks to Waneta, now I’m laying on couch trying to find a position to ease the pa8n..starting to get to me, best I put a call in to my doc as well, see why muscles are stopill in spasms
It's been a good day. Still feeling good and thinking I want some dinner. I have an appointment tomorrow with my Dr.
Grandson Ryan was released today from hospital. All the worst things have been ruled out so still more testing in store. It might be as simple as making a change in some of his meds. A big relief that it wasn't some of the big problems they started out looking for.
Now if spring would just arrive early.....
That is good news Karen and glad you already have an appointment for tomorrow and that you are feeling a tad better..and to think you are looking forward to eating, hurrah, maybe you turned a corner.
I took a meat pie out of freezer, was cooking potatoes and just smell of potatoes cooking turned me off so pit potatoes in garbage and pie in refrigerator..will have my bath then toast and hot chocolate.
Greg and Mel will c9me for supper tomorrow night, I hard a rumour I didn’t like, was asked not to say anything, perhaps it’s to tell me, likely why I’m not hungry and no they are not breaking up lol
72 degrees here today and no clouds. Cats and dogs spent about 4 hours with me in the front landscape while I fixed some irrigation and cleaned out some succulent bowls and tomorrow I will add some new soil to the bowls. Or I might do it Wednesday. My son and his family are coming Wednesday night and I need to buy some groceries. They have dinner out with friends Thursday and Friday. In Spokane they cannot go out to eat. Saturday night we have dinner at my daughter's home so all I need to be concerned about is breakfast. I make a great breakfast and I love to cook breakfast so I have no problem with this schedule.
Betty, I hope your pending news is not to drastic. When Todd and his wife Heather came over to talk to me, they were moving to Spokane because Todd had accepted a job with a hospital group there. They approached him so I was blindsided because he was ot really looking. They offered to pay off his medical school student loans and what mother could argue with that.
Betty, are your muscle spasms from shoveling the snow? A foot of snow is heavy.
Pat, you are such a delightful person to help someone with a bunch of reclaimed clothes. I gave away many of my clothes, as I lost weight. The person I gave them to was delighted with new clothes for her. She has gone to savers and purchased me some shirts for a few dollars and it is so helpful to me because she know my style and it gives me something new to wear.
Ate some dinner tonight. First real food in over 3 weeks. Couldn't eat a lot but I did enjoy it.
Perfect Karen. So pleased. I had to leave earlier because pups thought it was time to eat. Then I put out the garbage and recycle.
Just make sure you keep moving around. Do not want this creepy virus settling in your lungs.
Betty I am praying your sleep angels show up tonight and you get a good nights rest.
Did you take a sleeping aide the other night when you cut your hair. One night, after taking 10 mg of Ambien, I got up in the middle ofthe night and ate a whole carton of Strawberry ice cream. I didn't even know until the next day I went to get Vern some ice cream and the carton was empty.
Sharon, how sweet that she returned the kindness by buying YOU some new stuff!! VERY COOL!
Betty, when I was a case manager, my DIL actually was serving one of my clients (I did NOT hook them up!!! DIL was put in touch with her thru another woman taking the training with her). Anyhow, I needed to call DIL in to discuss some concerns. She walked in "Am I fired?" "NO, now we need to discuss some things!" LOL... next meeting I had to ask for, she walked in and I said "YES, YOU ARE FIRED, and yes, we still need to talk." Easier to get that news out of the way first.
I learned some very distressing news yesterday first hand. My Stanley is a bully!!! I saw him walk into the computer room, Nova was laying down on the opposite of me with her back to the door. Stanley snuck in and attacked Nova without any provocation!! Poor Nova yelped and never ever fought back!! I scooped up Stanley and urged Nova to the leave the room. Guess I can stop worrying about Nova hurting Stanley!! Poor Nova, she is such a sweet loving dog. My cat is a meanie! Who knew?? LOL
Sharon, muscle spasm that is not releasing came on after 6 needles in trapezius muscle..
As for the news I know what it is, someone told me and asked that I keep it to myself until I was told so hopefully tomorrow night it will be off my shoulders..got to say I am not a happy camper
Will be nice having family for a few days,
I understand by Ontario premier there may be a few changes with Covid state of emergency on the 16th, here is hoping, at least hairdressers might open, ski hills, something for everyone but still depends on new Covid strains

Morning all, wow it’s a cold day in my neighbourhood with ever so slight sprinkle of snow..thought instead of waiting for substantial amount I would give it a quick shovel, didn’t take me long.
Karen, did you have a good nights sleep, keeping down what you’ve eaten..good luck at your appointment this morning, will look forward to your update.
Bath time, then will make my coffee and spend a few hours sewing seeing as in the afternoon I’m done in. Lots of projects calling my name 🤣
Betty, I got a normal nights sleep. I wake several times and go to bathroom, but it's such a non event that I think it's more habit than need. Would dearly love to sleep through the night.
Pat I had a Siamese that was a bully, He was so pretty, a lavender point. When we lived in FL, he discovered he could open the front door by jumping up and hitting the handle. Neighbors told me he roamed the neighborhood openly going after other cats. He was neutered too. It's the only place he was an indoor/outdoor cat.
Great news, family must be feeling a bit relieved..
Don’t think I’ve ever had a kitty that was house kitty only..Ziggy here is not a winter kitty, it’s 8n/out, out/in for what seems a hundred times..when weather is a little warmer I leave him out longer as he can snuggle between pillows and quilt on settee and chairs out of the wind, now come spring he is out most of the time..he is also know not to befriend other kitties.
Greg and Mel are coming for supper, know they are on a diet but oh well, I’m doing joyce’s Aujus and ranch dressing meal in one, now crock pot so no having to check it..also have dinner rolls rising..
Time to make another coffee, have cereal and head downstairs
Glad to hear you are on the mend Karen.
So pleased you are feeling better Karen. And Betty, how are you feeling.
Pat, my Peanut is a bully with the other cat Boots. And Boots is larger. Peanut is good with the dogs and Boots just stays clear.
I was gone 3 hours today getting groceries for this weekend. I only have to worry about Breakfast and lunch, but just like my mother, I bought to much. But whatever is left over I can give to Vern's son or my daughter. It will not go to waste. My grandson Luke loves strawberries and there was not a strawberry in site.
My daughter came over and helped me put away all of special goodies I purchased. And then we walked the dogs together. Now, I am down for the evening except for feeding the dogs and my sister's evening call.
Going to do a little gardening tomorrow. We are going out for sushi on the way home from the airport.
I will check in later to find out Betty's news. Big hugs Betty.
Morning all, bitter day, the storm they called for didn’t materialize, I got my shovelling done, we got about 6 inches, you could almost blow it away as it was the fluffiest snow, actually enjoyed it.
Karen, how are things going today? Your doctor appointment was yesterday, did he have positive things to say?
Dianne, how are you and Kia doing? Have you been getting snow like we have?
Deb, are the dog shows starting to advertise they will hold shows?
Liz, how does the battle go in California, Covid numbers going down? Know California was on the grid to get everyone vaccinated as quickly as possible, wondering if it was helping
Lindakay will you be working today? You will have to take photos of a few quilt tops you’ve done, excited see see what quilting designs is used in what quilts.
Greg and Mel came for supper, nobody was in any hurry to go home, was waiting to hear of the news but nothing was said (big sigh,NOT that I wanted what I was told to be true) so maybe something has changed and that will be that..and I will take a big sigh of relief.
When they left they said we will make them coming over for supper every Tuesday a thing lol..my meal was a hit, I even have leftovers so no need to to cook tonight.
They were telling me that they rented a campsite for the month of June just down on the lake near the shrine, 15 minutes from here and are excited about that..they have a few other parks booked a week here and there so as government mandate changes Tuesday they will try and book the rest of the weeks til Thanksgiving.
Long weekend here, Family day weekend, as though that makes a difference in my world..
As for my shoulder, the pain was bearable yesterday so today I will do same thing, 1/2 hr play/work then 1/2 hr rest.. nice the trapezius gets out of spasm I’ll be a ok..have to think about getting them again but that is only the first I had a reaction?
So now I’ve sat and chatted, tub is ready for me to soak Then off to start my day.. once I do my daily ‘to do task’ which is clean dinning room buffet...yuk yuk, then I am ready to take on my day..housework all done, meals looked after so let’s see what I can create today..
So what is new in your world
Good morning.
Betty, I will take photos.
Most of the customers prefer just an all over meander. A few chose one of the Pantagraph designs she has at the shop.
I am playing hooky from the shop this week. One if our quilting friends moved about 7 hours north if here a year ago, and she is in town. So a few if us are getting together daily, if nothing else, just to talk and catch up. Today, we are driving an hour east if us to go to hobby lobby, and stop for lunch somewhere.
Sounds like fun day
So being able to do same
Betty, THAT would have driven me crazy!!! I admire your patience and acceptance.
I meet in a group of 4 (one is my Sis) for block exchange of the month that the local Quilt shop is sponsoring. Today will be our first day. Every month we will be given a new embroidery pattern for our machine & we will each do 4 blocks. We all get different patterns.
Rather discouraged about the doll project. Marie is not finding hardly ANY 18 inch or Cabbage Patch and that means nothing but odd ball sizes that can't be mass sewn. EACH doll has to have customized "kit" made up. THAT creates much more of a mess in my sewing room. I am seriously thinking of packing up the doll stuff again and just focusing on quilting for a while.
Very few dog shows going on, primarily in Florida, it seems. I don't know how long before they'll start up locally. The club I belong to cancelled our June show.
Cold dreary day here.
Enjoy your day LK.
Deb I was wondering about your dog shows. Everything else that includes gatherings seems to cancelled.
Kai had his first visit to the vet today. Poor little guy - he was so frightened he was shaking. He's in great health and will get his boosters in 3 weeks. I got lost trying to find the vet. This is a new vet for us and I was pleased with the whole office. I couldn't go in with Kai so that really had him upset .He threw up in the Escape on the way home.
Karen how are you feeling today ?
Stay safe and well.
Having a pretty good day today. Grateful for feeling better.
Dianne, it’s snowing heavily here, if it continues I have well over a foot to shovel in the morning
Poor Mia, not wonder he vomited, ride in car, taken away from his mommy..bet he is relaxed now and mommy is spoiling him.
Wouldn’t you know Deb, only place they continue to have dog shows is in Florida where Covid is high ..
Pat, wonder why you are having problems getting your dolls, are the Salvation Army etc stores closed? I would say our few stores that sell donated goods haven’t been operating, must be difficult as money’s earned they put back 8nto the community.
As for Greg and Mel not saying anything about what I heard in confidence ??? Maybe situation changed and they don’t feel right telling me or discussing dit with me..time will tell, I’m beyond worrying.
That is great new Karen, May tomorrow be even better..is Walt over his bout with Covid?
I worked pretty well all day on penguin star blocks..yikes, lost some of my star points, flannel just has no body, does not to matter as it has no home lol 10 of 16 blocks mare done, other 6:p cut ready to sew tomorrow..
Know it’s early but might make a hit chocolate then get comfy in bed.
I did a bunch of nothing today. I woke up to Cecil, the male schnauzer, throwing up. By the time he was done, I had messes to clean up. Then he wouldn't eat his breakfast and i usually do not have time to put the bowl down before he is ready to start. During our morning walk he threw up again twice. So when we got back from our walk I gave both he and his sister a bath. They just had one Saturday but they helped me with the irrigation on Monday so they needed it. It is their long beards.
Betty, you are stronger person than me. I would have told them what I heard and is it true. Glad they liked your dinner. Once a week sounds great for a family dinner.. We are having family dinner at Tracy's for pizza. Her husband has a pizza oven and they make great fresh vegetable pizzas. Tracy always has a great salad so I get my salad and put the pizza topping on my salad.
The weather here was beautiful today. Low 70s and no clouds.
Karen, so pleased you are making progress toward feeling better. Keep moving around.
Dianne, so happy Kai made it through the vet visit. We have to wear masks here and only one customer allowed in the lobby at a time. We wait in the exam rooms. Cecil throws up like that. If I have an appointment and away to long, he throws up.
Linda, it is always great to meet up with someone that has moved away and is in town for a visit. Bet you guys are having blast. I have never been to a hobby lobby. I also have never been to a cracker barrel.
Getting ready to go to the airport to pick up my son and his family. So looking forward to their visit. I will try to take photos.
Hugs to all of you.
Sharon
Betty, did I miss something? What info did you hear?
Hobby lobby is an awesome craft store. Something for everyone.
Fabric, paper crafts, jewelry, plastic models...
