Looking forward to seeing them Karen, I did angels for everyone a few years ago, the wings bent to make it dimensional then I added faux diamonds, everyone sooo loved them

Well, I was asked to make 8 snowmobile neck warmers..omg been quite awhile since I bought Hyde, ended up with a piece, the best piece I could find, $154.64 and then add 4 skeins of wool $5 each, add labour and Lordy, too expensive to make and sell..I will let the people know and they may change their name.. I wouldn’t knit one unless I got $50 for labour..

Was thinking they will change their mind, know I would.

This tan piece was same place, full of holes, likely I would not be able to get more than 2 out of it.

That is expensive hide.

I love those angels.

Victoria Harbour, ON

It is indeed,
I have 6 to make so am hoping if I play I can squeeze in 6, hopeful thinking.
Rita called, someone in tow is having marital problem, with my permission she called and told her should she need a place to stay for a bit I have a bedroom for her

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Wow! I had no idea hides were so expensive. We have 5 or 6 tanned deer skins. Maybe should sell them.
I love your angel. The ones I got from Juju are just flat.

But can’t you just see them on a Christmas tree just decorated an array of these? I bought the package you use 2 pieces of felt in hoop and does terrific designed ornaments that look like icing sugar on them..the girls some this morning then I just might oil my knitting mavhine and see if I can remember how to do the knitted project

Morning, still beating records for extended temps but rain is moving in...

Garbage to the curb and a chat with neighbors, seems only time we have a nice chat is garbage day.

I’m off on a hunt, know I bought ric rac black for gnome pillows and can’t find it, when I can’t find something I always say it’s time to reorganize the room, know what is there.

Girls will be here at 9 so best I grab a coffee and oil my knitting machine , been awhile since it is has had a good cleaning.

What are you all up to and what is your weather like?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Not doing much. Hubby was exposed to the covid last week, so we are isolating at home. 8 different guys at work were sent home last week. One of them was working close to Todd. One more week will tell if he caught it or not. Praying he doesn't.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Our weather is beautiful. Mid 80's during the day, mid 50s at night.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I plan on making a lot of the FSL ornaments. They will be good tuck-ins for the "non" gift bags I make every year. Some scramble, jerky, chocolates and a small giftie. For all the adults since we don't do adult gifts. We are not having our gathering this year. Very first time in my life. We will go to MI and visit all individually.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That sounds like a lot of driving time. Be careful.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Marie & I are not having our normal big Thanksgiving dinner at her house the Saturday after Thanksgiving. THAT will be our first non-gathering at Tday.

Weather is cold, wet and windy. Wet is my enemy. Cold I can manage but it's damp I hurt all over. My hands barely function..

My SIL Sharon sent message asking if she could come over with white chili and finish up 2 projects for the grandkids. She leaves Wednesday. guess I get company & not have to cook, WORKS FOR ME!!!

Morning all, light rain so perhaps it I’ll stop his morning and we will have sunshine..

Had such a busy day yesterday and checked in as I climbed into bed, typed a long post , either I fell asleep and didn’t press send or it went into cyber space.

Lindakay, is hubby showing any signs of being sick. Was it just a general check of employees that found Covid in coworkers? Praying all will be ok.
Don’t know if I mentioned it before, Braedon and 3 coworkers were tested and 3 had it, Braedon was so worried ..numbers are getting higher here but nothing like USA.
Best take all precautions re your Thanksgiving, will be much the same for Christmas sadly.

Karen, how long do they take to stitch out? You are feeling well enough to travel north?

Pat, what is ‘white’ chilli? Will be nice for you to have a sewing partner and be fed at same time.

Well, Ziggy just crawled in next to me, hint that it’s time to let him out..

Don’t think I showed you the winter panel we bought, came uncut, was to have been 3 but they were narrow, had marking where to cut them in 2, I suggested we cut it in 2 , would make more sense and it did..

Lordy it feels like Sunday today, not sure why?

Good morning everyone. Rainy day here as well.

The rain came just in time as I don't think I could take another marathon with the leaf blower. I just have to make a path down a hill where I walk Chaos. I have found out the hard way in the past that once the leaves get snowy and icy it is very easy for me to do one of my swan dives.

Last day of temps in the 60's Back to normal tomorrow.

Betty thank you for posting the poppy picture. I tend a Vietnam's vets site that is hidden way back on a lonely country road. I am the only 1 who visits as far as I can tell. I went earlier this week and made sure it was spiffy just in case someone does visit today..

Pat you and your sister. sure keep busy. Happy to read Stanley loves to cuddle.

Betty, I haven't paid attention to the time while stitching. I'm making the 4X4 size for tree ornaments so maybe 2000-3000 stitches.
Over did yesterday and paying today. Cousin coming to visit so good excuse to just be lazy and visit.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone.
Betty, that panel is beautiful. Do you have a photo of it finished?
No, they don't test them on the base. Several people reported having fevers, so the were told to go get tested. They have all been told, if you have any symptoms, do not go to work. But they ignored the rules, and went to work anyway.
So far, Todd nor I have no symptoms.

That is not bad Karen, think the angel is about 22,000, I must try one and attach to presents as well.

No, have not seen it done, I will work on it after Christmas seeing I’ve so much to do, need to buy some blues to match as I want to make blocks for side and bottom then maybe flying geese..some projects I’m setting aside,8 cannot for the life of:3 pay $20-$24 a meter.

That winter solstice has been dragging around long enough, each block seeing they were quite a size were quilted, I then followed their direction and did backing but did not like it so last, few weeks I spent a lot of time taking out quilting, bought new backing as I thought I’d wash the one I took off and Lordy it shrunk a good 4”.. I have a few projects I can use the backing I washed so not all lost..

Been sitting knitting and sunshine beaming through, can actually feel my eyes get heavier,so best I start moving around and wake myself so I can go do some of the quilting

I committed to hired help his afternoon for an hour so I need to get my ducks in a row to get my money's worth!!! Identify & list exactly what I want done.

Yes, my SIL Sharon & I have been getting together about once a week. One of us provides dinner (it's NOT always the one's who house it is!! LOL) Last night we made 2 skirts for her Granddaughters she is going to see later this week. She has motel reserved and will have the 2 girls stay with her. They will craft & have fun. We have 2 horse theme quilts in the planning stages, I am looking forward to those!

White chili is made with white beans & chicken, usually just a can of chopped tomatoes and chicken broth so it's NOT a red broth or sauce. I like it best when also has cream cheese in it. I miss the "co-op" dinners I used to have with my oldest son & his wife when they lived local. It would always be at my house & VERY casual, like of a low key potlock. It let us get together without all the work of "dinner" and Carrie would plan or cook it knowing it would be at my house since they didn't have room.

I am getting bids on small project in the house. I want a coat closet, wall & door built at the entry. That will totally close off my sewing area, 1 bathroom and bedroom. That will provide a necessary get-away for me if I end up with an extended stay of my youngest and family. It will provide safe place for Stanley away from 4 kids, including 3 YO, big dogs & their cat. (I would move out to that bedroom and have them occupy the remainder of the 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms available.)

Hi all
I got the day off today, because of Remembrance Day. It was a quiet laid-back kind of day, and I really needed this.
As pleased as I am to be working where I am, and making some extra $$, it's taking some getting used to, but I am really happy to be working doing what I'm doing with Bernice 😁😊

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am so happy that your employment has been a good fit and you are happy there! Makes a WORLD of difference!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all..been laying in bed for last few hours with room going around! Think Dianne ‘s vertigo found me.. ran my bath, then coffee Md sit, hopefully this will short lived.

Weather has cooled down but everyday there is no snow we are blessed.

Susan, I’m sure that after so many years of not working it will be difficult to get into a routine..what is it you and Bernice are doing? You likely told said what it was but cannot recall.have you been getting snow?

Pat hope all goes well with your helper today, lots of time it isn’t the size of the job, it’s the little things that need done that we cannot do Ourselves.

Thought maybe there had been changes and you would not have your son/family move in with you..sounds with the changes you plan on making you will have a Hide a way for you and Stanley..that Will make sharing the house easier,..how old did you say the children are?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

The oldest is actually living with her Dad while going to school this year but she is with them a lot. Sooooo 16, 14, 13, 12 & 4 (Her's His & Our's) . I had the 2nd contractor in this morning and expect to get both bids by Monday afternoon. Both think they could start the job immediately. They are waiting on bigger jobs that are grinding thru the process of HOA approval etc. Start to finish about 4 days if they can find the quick dry texture, that really speeds up the process. I need to go get my bucket of paint out so I know what color to tell them.

They may NOT end up moving in, but this small remodel is something I have been considering for a while. Being able to close off my sewing area with a real door makes it much safer and child-friendly when I have company. We'll see, nothing for sure yet on any front, I just want to be prepared and make life easier.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

If they move in, you will have a house full.
Betty, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Pat, that is a lot of people to move in, even on a temporary basis..you are stronger than I, couldn’t do it! It’s nice having a sewing area away from rest of house, simply close door and all is well in the world regardless cyclone in craft room.

Head played havoc with me today..I’m comfy in bed, Ziggy beside me..animals are great friends, when you aren’t at your best there they are, it’s as though they know what is going on

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Our dogs are the same way. They know when we are not feeling good.
Praying you are feeling better tomorrow.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

I just heard from my daughter, she was feeling poorly and running a fever over the weekend, and her boss had been off the week before after testing positive for covid. She went for a test on Monday and just heard back this afternoon that she is positive, too. She told me she is feeling better now than she was earlier in the week, and no more fever, but, I am so worried about her.
I haven't seen her in over two weeks, so I assume I'm ok.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Oh goodness. Yes, sounds like you are likely not at risk. Sorry to hear your daughter got it but thankfully she is fighting it off quickly.

It is a LOT to have, I am not used to having dogs underfoot either, let alone two Labradors! I would rather have had my nephews 2 mellow Great Danes! If I do end up with extended company, the change of the wall situation for the sewing room will make it much more livable. We'll get by. The door and wall will be sanity savers!!

I hope you are feeling better Betty.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Deb, you both must be beside yourselves, neither can see each other when both need to offer support..do hope she is over the worst of it however they don’t know what after effects are. Watched a show this morning, 2 women telling their story, mom, dad, grandfather in the hospital, because they knew the mom and her dad were dying they put them in same room, (thank god for compassion) mom and her dad passed on, they were able to be with each other via zoom..imagine..their father was in hospital over 46 days, how can people possibly think it’s no worse than the flu.

Our numbers are rising, watched cnn this morning and see yours are climbing as well..they made reference so some, like myself can visualize, they reference it like planes going down every so many day, I can’t remember exactly how many days as I was dozing in between and sure made me realize how horrific it is!

Hugs Deb and prayers for your daughter, she has been through so much.

Pat, do hope your family can find alternate accommodation..is there a shortage of rental in your area..know there is here.

Stay safe, stay healthy
Worry about you

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

My sister's Dr. told her it most likely will take her a year to feel back to good again and over the after effects.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Without work, rentals are not an option! Her work was THERE, and it was supposed to include super low rent while in the "off months" We'll see. It is what it is!!!

One piece of GREAT luck! I was set to buy new tires for the truck when son spotted studded, mounted tires for sale 30 minutes away for only $200!! Got them purchased and he changed them out for me.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Pat, SCORE!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Great news Pat, weather her is dropping big time, snow showing a few days this week then a few warm days so likely won’t stay but end of November gives us one less month of snow.

With rain tomorrow hope Ray comes and finishes the yard

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone.

Betty, how are you doing today?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sunshine day Lindakay, sun beaming through my dirty windows lol

Sitting quietly, knitting, listening to Ray finish off the yard..brought him a pop, said he has one more yard to finish this afternoon and that is it for the season..

Should go to town and do groceries but don’t need much so maybe I’ll wait, need black Canadians wool but doubtful they sell it here in midland Walmart so might mean a trip to barrie this week.

Hmmm wonder if the little wool store in midland has survived, if they sell it

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you are feeling better.
80 degrees here today. Maybe you can call before you have to run all over.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Great weather Linda Kay, that’s our summer weather here!

It was in the 60s when we came to finish the yard, so glad that’s behind, always worried about the big spring cleanup and now the majority is done just a few leaves that are left on the trees and Ray will come back and give it a once over for me.

Moved us over

Machine embroidery is the most frustrating sewing there is. When it goes well, it's awesome fun. BUT when something goes wrong.........Re thread the needle, rethread the bobbin, change the needle, then do it again and again until finally it goes right again. I've finished three keeper towel hoods. One is good. Two are OK. Three gotta buy more towels so far. I'm going to go on so I will know how many towels I will need to re-buy. Fun fun fun
