Best/Worse/What did I learn today?come sit a spell, Fall is in the air..come sit a spell..

The Christmas one pad is just a panel Sharon had ordered and brought to me last night, like you today I feel I need a bit of a rest so I sat and took a zipper out of a big coat that Sharon son needed replaced hand tact it in and maybe later I will go downstairs and saw it as cold weather is here and hit appreciate it.

I think your idea of setting a time limit would be good, doesn’t mean you have to intermingle if you know the day they likely will come you can have everything in the yard ready for pick up Shirley they can expect you to keep it for two more years.

Every once in a while we get the urge to purge and do a good job of it and know sooner get rid of it do we realize we could’ve saved make a dollars by keeping it because now we have to go out and buy it but generally that’s not the case so purge purge purge to your hearts content.

Sitting here painting snowman boots

I think I would like a wide red & black buffalo plaid around that Christmas panel, with NO white edge and call it perfect! I REALLY like that panel!

Actually, Rebecca called today and said she was tired of trying to work around the Texas assignment. Not knowing if and when, and how long it would be so she is moving forward as if she is not going at all!! She said she has spot ready for the roll top desk and is working on the space for the secretary. She will call when she has a date planned.

I told her rather than box up all the other stuff that she may or may not want, I am going to make a list of what other stuff she needs to look at. I will get rid of the rest, sell or donate etc.

Rebecca was calling about the steps I would recommend she take before taking on a remodeling project that she wants to do, her laundry room is just not cutting it. We talked about that and ways to grow some storage space in their home. It's a lovely home with walk in closets but THAT IS ALL. No real other storage or closet space. It was a great visit and I look forward to the in-person one soon.

Handyman has come and gone the new rods are up, the curtains are up. We had to rethink the cabinet door hinges.

Sad to say, Lorna’s Mom, Olive Parker, passed away this afternoon in South Lake Hospital in Newmarket at the tender age of 90.5 years.

Absolutely unconditionally loved by Lorna, her brother Grant (wife Linda), granddaughter Brittany , step grands Alyssa and Nick (Emily), great grands, William and Gracie Mae ..

Due to the scourge of COVID we will be unable to attend the funeral. Lorna is inconsolable with that fact, and i feel so bad for her.

Marilyn

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Pat, I think giving them a reasonable time limit is a good idea. Set a date and insist if they want it they need to come get it.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh Marilyn............ I SO feel for Lorna. Inconsolable is the right word for what she's going through.

Betty - the two roads I drive on are both paved. A highway & a paved roadway. Her driveway gets shovelled all the time. Yes, we've had quite a bit of snow. Almost Christmas-y. I take the car, so Bob is vehicle-less. Which is fine, because he's working on our neighbour's home and walks the short distance to their home. If he needs a ride to town, he either waits for me to come home, asks me to go to town after work, or gets a ride to town with the daughter (Naomi) if she's going to town. Otherwise he waits until my day off. I only work Mon, Wed & Thurs so that leaves a lot of scope for the car to be at home.
Work tomorrow, so I'll be getting to sleep earlier than I used to before I started this job.

Well, I am working on purging drawers in my kitchen. You must realize I have 13 drawers in my kitchen not counting the cabinets that hold pans and glassware. Big kitchen. I have now emptied 5 drawers. Majority of items either belonged somewhere else or were garbage, shred or donate. I found 4 old phones, 2 which were flip, and some items you put into the cigarette lighter in your car to charge your phone. My new car, which is 4 years old, does not have a cigarette lighter port. I found enough change to fill a small sandwich zip lock bag. Vern could never find his hair comb and now I know why. Found at least 12 of those. I am doing the drawers after the dogs afternoon walk and their dinner. That way I have been able to enjoy the garden and spending time on the back patio and then tackle the drawers in the early evening. Seems to be working.

We have a cold front moving in and we will go down into the low 60s by next Monday. Tomorrow is a gardening day. I will take some photos of my roses. They are in full bloom. They love this time of year. Actually, so do I.

Pat and Betty, it is good you both took a rest day. The guards of the community went around garbage day, Tuesday, and gathered me many boxes from the bulk day stacks. That is every 2 weeks. I have a large amount of boxes and that will save me money. House, 3 houses down, just sold for all cash and they look like they will be moving in soon. 5 bedroom and 7 baths, and 7,000 sq ft. so there will be many boxes with that move.

My daughter, grandson and myself voted today. We had to stand outside in a parking lot for about 30 minutes but it was only 84 degrees, so it was not bad.

I went with a friend to Costco last week. I have the membership and she likes to shop there about every 8 weeks. She and I both purchased paper towels and toilet paper. When we got to the checkout we could only get mine because they only allowed one of each per membership. I also looked for some zinc and they were out.

Too bad we could not all get together and have one very large yard sale. When I start going through my gardening tools and such, I will find many duplicates.

We have not had any rain in over 5 months. May get some on Monday with the cold front coming in but I will not hold my breath.

Pat, how did your cat do while you ere gone? One of my major worries is moving my cats when I move. One stays very close to the house and usually does not leave the yard but the one that looks like Betty's cat wanders the whole neighborhood.

Hugs to all of you from Las Vegas. My neighbor across the street has been exposed to the virus so he and his wife, mid 50's, are staying home and inside.

My squash in the front garden.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

YIKES, I do not envy you having to go thru the house & preparing for the sale. So much work, emotional and physical!

Stanley did OK, I hired a young man to come twice a day and feed him & play with him. He was VERY happy to see me and very needy. LOTS of cuddles.

My prayers for Lorna and family, never easy at ANY age to lose someone you love.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ducky always has a lot to say to us when we come back home. He is part Siamese so is very talky anyhow. There is always someone here when we go anyhow.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So sorry to hear that "M". Sending our condolences, and prayers.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just popping in for a few seconds and will be back shortly to read all the posts but first want to offer my condolences to “M” on lorna’s Mom’s passing. To not be able to attend the funeral must be overwhelming..there just are no words..

Hugs to both of you, know you will help Lorna through this.

Taking a break, thought I’d start painting the snowmen I found in a ‘to finish’ tote, need to buy 2-3 this fall so now I can use the one that had the snowmen ..I’ve so many kids with no tote bottoms, how to heck does that happen, guess no different than Tupperware bowls and lids.

Lordy you all are in purge mode, one could say I’m purging but mine is finishing projects.

Hard to believe Susan that you have substantial snow, I will be gracious and say you can have it all.

Pat as for the Christmas panel, the white is selvage and has to be cut off..glad you have come up with a solution re items in storage.

Sharon, can’t even think of having 7 washrooms, too much cleaning for me.
Drawers, our downfall, cleaned all mine and am trying when I’ve something in my hand NOT to put it into a drawer..know we all have A junk drawer but sometimes it moves on to other drawers. Looking forward to seeing photo’s of your rose bushes.
As for voting glad you are all getting out without to much problem, imagine, I had 3 calls this morning reminding me to watch the debate tonight..you would almost think we live in USA..won’t watch..

Haven’t had lunch yet, tummy is hungry..maybe I will have Shepard’s pie and that ought to do lunch and supper.

Then I have to decide it I want to cut a snowman and scarf piece..was odd numbers in the tote..I can either throw away a pair of snowman boots and signs and have 5 snowman or cut another and have six..now what to do?

Think is, don’t really need any of them but hated to throw them out.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Have plans galore but so could have a nap..

Just talked to Sharon, her dog Paris will csection Saturday morning at 11 as she is Andy carrying one pup, amazes me she waits a few hours and they let Paris and pup go home.she has a friend whose dog, not American Eskimo is having dogs, at some point she will send the puppy to her so that he can socialize..

Seems like you always have things to finish.

Are we going to have a Christmas craft this year? With mailing really slow, maybe you can find a project we can gets parts here and do?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Storm is brewing, just got phone and tv alert that tornado is possible.

That time is coming Lindakay, will have to think what we can do

Verona, ON

Wow !!! Don't send it my way. It is a perfect summer day - 71*

Chaos lived up to his name at the vet's yesterday. They still won't let the owner in with their pet.

Stay safe Betty,

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Stay safe Betty.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

WOW... yes ya gotta be brave to be a vet!! LOL

Tornado?? How common is THAT in your area?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, all is standing, few touch downs locally
At one point I thought I’d best hanker down in the basement..

Yes. It is common, quite a few years ago lives were lit in Barrie, when we lived on the lake we lost quite a bit of waterfront,,several years ago when Christine came to visit one had hit midland, lost of many homes and quite a bit of damage at the shrine so I would say the midland/Orillia/barrie corridor is included in its route..glad Dianne it didn’t get to your area.

Sharon is just leaving for the city, Paris is having a c section at 11 and if all goes well Sharon will be bringing a lone puppy home.

I’m heading to town, few groceries and craft supplies needed, as well I will drive to Perkinsfield and drop off a kit for joanne to do a snowman hat, she is always so kind to me!

Going to try and get those 5 snowmen done today worse case scenario tomorrow.

Hope you’ve plans for the day..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you are safe. Praying you have no damage to your home.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We get severe wind storms but no tornados thankfully!

What size is a typical litter? Only ONE puppy makes it one expensive C-section!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not sure how many, 5 Or so..yep $1,500 for csection
Just born, Sharon says she is a big girl

Just got back from Sharon’s, apparently the surgeon had to cut Paris 3 separate times, Baby is over a lb..about 3 times normal size baby..Nikki was on her way to try and buy premiere nipples but nobody in town had any so here is hoping regular size will worK

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Awe. She is so beautiful.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Wow!! That is a big baby.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Poor PARIS! Baby girl will be one spoiled little girl with all of her mother's attention (and MILK, if thought she was big now...)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

My parents got an Irish Setter puppy that was an only child. She was an awesome dog, very laid back and bonded to people.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Paris’s milk is in short supply, Sharon is feeder her..puppy cries an awful lot.
Lost a little weight so Sharon is keeping an eyes on her. Sharon seems to think that it’s better to socialize pup with other puppies.

Been sick all day,
Behind is burning so badly from acidity, took hot bath and ended up having to get out a couple times..on counter I put jar of noxema that is in a white jar to use each time I go to washroom, forgot about the white jar of lineament I bought at lens mills the other day, grabbed in error, was burning before but it’s burning big time..

In bed, had put a roast and veggies on this morning, had a little and now bedtime.

If someone drops in I’ll tell them they have to leave, flu shot the other day and maybe I’m fighting flu bug

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

OUCH Betty, linament is NOT soothing, but then who needs to tell YOU that now?? Goodness, I am sorry for the pain. Get to feeling better QUICK!

I remember when I had my dog in an obedience training there were a few professional dog handlers/breeder that had dogs in the class. Not for the training, they were fully capable of doing that themselves, but for the dogs socialization. to get them accustom to being in the ring with other dogs that were strangers.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Congratulations to Sharon on the puppy. Hope she can find nipples that will work, I know it's getting harder to find the old type premie nipples. It's been a while since I've had to bottle feed, but, I always try to have some on hand when a litter is due.

I hope you're feeling better soon, Betty.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Brrr, afternoon..it’s 32f today and raining, odd sleet so an inside day for sure... keep thinking of most of you with high temps, lucky you!

Deb, a feeling better today, still chills and tummy not the best but much better than yesterday, still in nighty, trying to find something to entertain myself.. thanks for asking..

Had 2 things on my to do list for today, getting 5 small water feature pumps out of their places I.e. bubblers and trio cement columns, calling for better weather this week so will wait...other was to put the snowmen together, need to spray, then glue nose, 2nd part of scarf and wire arms on pot body but neither will get done, cozied up on couch. I did count out a pattern for another bench pillow, so I cut paper pieces out, the pattern series is for every month, staring with winter lol

Sharon is feeding puppy, Paris just getting milk, she is a hungry little one..keeping Sharon busy. I brought a air mattress so sharon could grab a few winks, Inuk thinks it’s for him.

Made a roast and veggies yesterday, thinking of warming some up, need to eat it all up because I’ve a crave on for stuffed peppers but not throwing roast away..

Greg asked if I’d make chicken and sliders this week, perhaps thursday.

I am glad to hear you are feeling better Betty and hope you will soon be feeling GRTEAT, not just "better than yesterday".

One day when my Daughter in law served stew to my son Dana, he asked how she did that. "We didn't have a roast yesterday."... AWwww family traditions and habits!! I always cut a portion of the cooked roast aside and cut it up the next day to make stew with all the leftover vegetables. He didn't know you didn't have to start with leftovers!!

I cut down the frost-bit dahlias, cut back the roses and filled a huge garbage can. I SHOULD pull up all the mums that laid down & stake them up, they'd look better! I promised myself I would get the paperwork done I have been avoiding so I best get at it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gave me a chuckle Pat.. I keep forgetting your weather isn’t the best either..
Not fond of paperwork..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Our cold front has arrived. Only 48 today, and a misty rain. Looks like fall is here.

Betty, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just put garbage to road front, took excedrin migraine for headache Nd climbed. Into bed
I’d say we had frost
That is cool your area is it not Lindakay? Guess you get cold just not snow but with climate change who knows, one year you may..

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

We had our first snowfall yesterday. Teagan just stood out there looking quizzically up at the sky.

I got yesterday and today off work so far. One of the women in my department tested positive for covid over the weekend. I don't work anywhere near her usually, my desk is in another room, but, boss knows I go into the room where she works to do documentation, so a long weekend is nice. So far she's doing well, with no symptoms. She had gone to the doctor for knee pain, and they test everyone going in. At least it was caught now. No one else I've heard of has tested positive there.

Teagan is beyond beautiful...nice you have a few extra days off but not so nice that it’s because of Covid..hope your coworker is ok and that you remain Covid free..

Still in bed, tempted to get out of bed but perhaps it’s the place to be...

SHARON just sent me photos

Looks Paris is doing well. Teagan is sooo beautiful.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Beautiful pup.

Verona, ON

Oh Deb Teagan is gorgeous. I don't envy your brushing though. I had Samoyeds for a long time - lots of brushing. Glad you got a couple of days off. Are you still enjoying your new job ?

Threat of snow here by the end of the week.. You too Betty ?

Pup is beautiful and yes she is a big girl.

Stay in bed Betty !!!
