Quite the idea but I’m with you Pat, like onions and green leper’s...made spaghetti, not sure why but tummy rolling.

shaking my head, worked a lot on that St Paddy bench pillow, never did finish it so sat here with bag of button sewing on eyes, sewing them in middle of flowers...tired today, might just throw it over the pillow and finish it next year or I’ll have a nap and if I get energetic will sew backing into it and slip pillow in for tomorrow..glad I have a spring one..was going to do Easter but I’m thinking not lol

Look what our Canadian Tire is doing..will have to send a note of thanks even though I’m not taking advantage of it to tell them thanks for looking after seniors

Wow, that is nice of them to make that offer.

I'll 2nd that, WOW!

Some of our stores are talking of making an hour or so in the morning just for seniors. I'm hoping they do.

Verona, ON

Wide awake. I'll be dragging all day now.

Happy ST Patrick's Day !!

You could interchange toppings on the German pizza. I have used tomatoes and mushrooms instead of green pepper. Finished the last of the leftover pizza. I think it tastes even better the second day.

Don't get the paper so I didn't see the CT ad Betty. Some of our grocery stores are opening at 6 am - 7 am - only people over 60 can enter the store. Guess they figure we are the ones up early.

My cell with Rogers is shown I have no service - that began on Sun afternoon. Surely the towers don't have Covid 19.

Going to start a new rug hooking . It is 2 wolves howling at the moon. I got offtrack on the 1 I started but am too impatient to unpick it right now.For this 1 I am going to make a graph chart on a piece of paper that is of a size I can read. The chart they include is waaaay too small for me to follow.. My patience is at an all time low. I usually can go with the flow when I err on a project. My eyes are so bad everything I look at is fuzzy. - even the TV. My new glasses can't come in soon enough.

Please stay safe everyone and remember social distancing when you are out and about. Wonder who thought up that phase?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Everyone..not sure if it was snow or ice last nigh, hard to tell is snow melted and froze so have to be watchful out there. Seems like a light mist falling.

I was up with you Dianne, ate something yesterday that did not agree with me, tummy churning, took a pill doc gave me from when I was continually vomiting, easing tummy but felt tired and laced back down

Dianne do you have a photo copier that you can enlarge to the extreme? I found a petit point I stated omg must be 30 years ago, keep thinking I should try and finish it but know I couldn’t..maybe frame as is lol. Your wolves sound beautiful...

Dianne I subscribe to online flyers so it was an email they sent.

Question and nobody need answer, is the virus uppermost on your mind, fretting?? It’s a concern and you are just being watchful?

Drats, missed the garbage..that is ok, I’ll be doing more runs with construction materials when Brian starts the basement I’ll include it in that.

Maybe another hot chocolate and toast my settle my tummy

Stay healthy

Karen, some stores here are doing same, thInk 8-10:30

The virus hasn't hit our little town yet, but I bet it won't take long. Hubby and everyone at the base has been told to stay home until further notice. I know the danger is real, but I believe it is overly exaggerated. It is no worse than the regular flu going around.
Just my opinion.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Crazier and crazier. Nearly had to threaten to spank my youngest, age 54. He has gotten himself all stirred up because Jess and Bryan went to FL for a few days. Now they were with other family from here for part of the time and one his step mom, a nurse. They did go to Sea World and Gatorland. but other than that have been at the beaches.
My baby got it into his head that they are going to bring back THE VIRUS to us and wants them to stay somewhere else for two weeks. I told him this is their house too and I'm have no intention of keeping them away. It took a lot of doing but I finally got his butt settled but not before he involved all the kids and grands in a group chat. I realize it was out of love but good grief give us a bit of credit for common sense too. Not quite ready to let them become the parents yet.
We are about as safe here as anywhere. Last time we were in MI we bought 9 containers of disinfectant wipes. Not because of any premonition but because hubby prefers the ones at Meijers. We use them all the time in the bathrooms and now have them around the house. We didn't know when we would be up there again and I simply stocked up.
Our room is on the second floor. If need be we can pretty much stay up here and even eat separately in extreme case.
Payton is here but he's 16 and we barely see him as he's in the basement on the X-box. He doesn't eat with us because he doesn't like what we are eating.
The other kids are at their grandmas now and then will be at their fathers for the next couple weeks.
The beginning of the month we did a super shopping at Sam's which had been planned for some time for as soon as we got our tax refund so we have tons of food. The only thing we run out of is milk and there is a Dollar General 2 miles up the road.
I finally got son calmed down and then the grands started. I get it, they love us but give us credit for some common sense.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I am so glad to hear you both post how I feel, thought maybe it was me being totally off. Yes it is dangerous but when the flu is ramped as it has been in other years many die..we just have to be watchful..Drats what I don’t like is mandatory restaurant closures, can only do take outs, how will I survive

I think it would be more realistic if everyone had the testing and compare the data to other illnesses.

I keep looking at these statistics

Hmmm, going by the list I sent most of you, best I check what meds I have or don’t have and make sure just incase I get it I’ve ample medical supplies

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad you stood your ground Karen.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I had grands messaging me from all over the country, so that part was nice, getting to talk to them.
Went and picked up my machine from the spa. (aka repair shop). I have others I can use but this is my old favorite. I can tell every thing about her just by listening to her run. It's why I took her in she had a noise I knew wasn't right. Was just a screw needing tightening. I keep thinking I should retire her but......

Morning all, cold out there but no snow and spring right around the corner...

Just put St. Patrick’s Day Decor away, thinking of going to the shed and see if I can find Easter/spring bins..

My morning hasn’t gone too good so far, spilled my coffee, went to suck air out of space bag with vacuum hose, vacuum went tumbling and hit me in the head, thought for sure my ear was bleeding but not..that is just first hour of my day so who knows what the rest of the day will bring.

Karen it’s wonderful you are being checked on by family, that alone makes you feel better..

You have to wonder what drives some people, they are completely over the top, fear is controlling their every move..sad

called mom last night, she is still getting over a bad cold, she wanted to come up, talked her out of it, tried to make her understand she is at high risk..mike and Kim my brother and his wife and grandson will make sure she has all she needs, reminded her no bingo, no malls etc. I believe her church has closed as well, one of largest in Brampton.

Today’s goals:

. take light cords off the railings on front deck
. set out Easter/Spring decor
. make at least 8 washable health masks (I’ll try 1 first)
. vacuum and dust upstairs
. Find a tote for all frames i’m Not using (soldiers set aside for now)

Reality sets in at end of day, what will a really accomplish. With Brian coming to work today (hoping) to start basement ceiling how much will he ask me to help hoping with

How will you fill your day in? Hope all check 8n so we know you and yours are o.k.

Stay well/stay safe

Off to find totes

Good Morning...yikes Betty heck of start to your day, fingers crossed it will go better.

karen, I was cheering you on, putting your foot down, so glad the family is keeping in touch...got to love the cell phone for that alone.
Both my grand daughters keep in touch with the phone...makes my day when I get a call little miss Lily...Oh my gosh, Evie got hold Of Breenie’s phone and FaceTime me...lol I don’t even know how to facetime! Lol.

Diane, We were supposed to go on our trip March 30 and return April 14. I finally got through yesterday to cancel our fight....we actually got a credit to use by the end of the year, Refund only if The airline cancels, Dh was on the phone busy cancelling our motorcycle rentals, sigh.
Oh well, hopefully the quarantine will be over and we will drive to Florida and work on the house!

Hey thanks to all who watched my St. Patrick’s day parade, bigs smiles. My spinning a baton started with trying for my grands... it just got better and better since grandma got here because well, I am a fidgety person, always got to be doing somethin, so while we walk the house or the the block I got the stick...lol she uses the stick for exercises...anyway it’s fun to play with..
My girls are absolutely adorable. Lily is starting to talk more. She is really smart and developing as any 2.5 year old should. We just started back to weekly visits.
GG (great gramma) Loves to read to them. I am Mama because she can’t pronounce gr yet.
And Oh my goodness,I think lil Evie bear is a genius, she is so smart for a 1.5 year old. But I gotta tell you she already has a wicked sense of humor and shows it by teasing. But I got to say she is just a joy to see and hear her laugh...it shocked me the first time she actually doubled over and slapped her knee she was laughing so hard. So here’s a few pictures for you.

Yes Betty, we still have the cottage, Wewent for my Birthday weekend, it was so nice to get away even for just a couple of days...

Betty, I would like to know how you got a vacuum above your head?

Judy, I loved the video of you twirling. So cute.

I am sewing a bunch of thread catchers for our sewing group, once we are allowed to get back together.
I will find the link and post it.

Oh, Judy, what pretty little girls you have there!! This is such a fun age!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Judy those girls are a horrible when did the little boys come. Lol
Lori takes all my time to look after one house and here you are with four or five, don’t know how you do it. How disappointing for you no you were looking forward to getting away, knowing you you’ll figure something out to make you feel like you’re on vacation lol

Linda Kay, I had the big airbag on the floor and had disconnected the hose year out of the bag so I was bent over pulling the hose when you hit me in the head, didn’t loosen anything up though. Sewers can always make do with more thread catchers

Tired tonight I can’t seem to fall asleep, likely because Jeffrey has put the fear of the Lord in me to stay inside, how I’m right at the age where they’ll put me in a corner while they look after a 40-year-old he says. Although it’s all in joking likely it’s the truth..I cannot cannot believe how often I put my hands on my face, almost impossible not to, really bad habit I have!

Brian was here today I can’t believe how much he accomplished.. he is so quick at what he does likely by Friday the ceiling will be done, yawning away here, so this afternoon though so that was productive.

Had to make a quick run to Coolwater lumber store they were just closing their doors as of tomorrow morning You have to call in your order they will have a machine forget it outside the door that you pay your order and once they confirm payment they will put your order outside the door, so hard to believe

Cute masks Betty. Will they filter enough of the virus?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I'm inclined to think the restrictions & closures are not overboard. I expect our office to start working out of our home next Monday (my guess).. Administration is preparing for it. Our agency is considered "essential personnel" so we can't shut down. Today was the first day that we worked exclusively out of the office, no in-home visits. Assessments by phone only, I'm grateful for my headset!

I did get sugar cookies made yesterday & I want to assemble lasagna for son to put in the oven for dinner tomorrow night. . I'm tired and headed to bed early!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, this old lady is now wearing a boot on my left foot. I tripped and fell Monday spraining my ankle pretty good. Dr today said nothing broken, just sprained. My whole foot is swollen to the point, I thought it was going to split open. So it is ice while I sit, wear the boot for 2 weeks when I get up. Then a brace of some sort for another few weeks.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Very happy day today. Oldest great Payton had a front permanent tooth knocked out when he was in grade school. Nothing done properly, school was supposed to have it fixed as it was a deliberate injury. Years pass, parents now divorced, dad refuses to help. I finally decided enough was enough, he wasn't going to middle school missing a front tooth. Plus he had quit smiling. Now, finally after years of braces it's almost done. Braces came off today. still needs permanent implant in near future. But just look at the first real smile in years.

Thumbnail by siliolegma
Verona, ON

Karen you tell Payton he is 1 handsome dude with a killer smile.

IGA was well stocked in most areas. I went early as I know the milk comes at 6 am. Warren used to work dairy so I knew it would be well stocked. The store was busy. The deli was closed down and they can't sell any meat that needs slicing.

My friends teaching in Egypt are very concerned and worried they won't get home for the summer. The have been off school for 3 weeks and are to go back on Sunday to teach online. They are concerned as some of the staff chose to travel during the time off - heaven knows what they all were exposed to

Oh LK that sounds painful. Stay off of that foot !!

Deb how are you and the dogs faring ?

Stay safe, well and practice self distancing. I laugh at that term as I practice self distancing most days of the year.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Karen, I agree. He has a beautiful smile.

Glenview, IL

Oh Linda Kay, such a bummer...healing gentle ,bright side it will give you time to make those cool thread catchers!
Yep, Payton is great looker with a fabulous smile. Giggling over your knock knock joke Karen.
Thanks Deb, hope your staying safe.
Nice masks Betty,
Oh my gosh Diane, I’m with you on the self isolation, I’m pretty mush a homebody myself. Have been for years, so this staying home is pretty easy for me lol.
I hope your friends will be able to get back for summer.

Well today normally a Grandma daycare day, cancelled. I decided to make it happen anyway. Woke at the usual early time, breakfast, walk the house, excersise, manicure, walk the house, water painting, lunch, water painting Jeopardy at 3:30...I think she enjoyed it, geese never stopped talking, lol.
I had a good time too but did my normal stuff as much as possible and I could be deaf on my left ear Cuz she talks very loudly because she can’t hear!
Amanda was great and patient teacher. So here’s a few pics.

Awesome paintings Judy. Sounds like everyone enjoyed the day.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Looks like fun for all Judy.
We got some flowers weeded and planted. Well...I stood at the porch raid and directed. Needing my cane again, don't know what the heck I did this time. It was a beautiful porch day.

Verona, ON

Good morning. First full day of Spring. bring it on !!

Weather liars held up their record of being totally wrong last night. We were under a severe weather warning for thunderstorms and 90 mph winds. I was up until 1 am and nothing happened. I was worried about a couple of trees on the lake side that are close to the house. Only had rain and it wasn't even a heavy rain. I'll take it.

Feels like a lazy day but I do need to get the kitchen tidied up. I've been a little careless about putting things away.

Someone I know on FB whose DH is a long haul trucker is making a plea for help. With all of the truck stops and restaurants closing down the truckers are having trouble getting cleaned up and fed. They have to resort to going to convenience stores for food and it is really expensive for them. Some have tried to walk up to a drive through window but are refused service even when they explain they drive a 14 wheeler and had to park it somewhere else and walk to the window. Amy was suggesting if there was a truck stop near you if you could assemble some soaps, hand sanitizers, some drinks, sandwiches, fruit and veggies. I need to check if there is a truck stop near Kingston that has showers and a restaurant that is closed down. The truckers still go there to park after driving for 14 hours. I was a little leery about going but Amy said just to take a box with a big sign saying "Help Yourself. Thank you for continuing to do your job". I don't expect any of you do that but I thought it was interesting how many lives and jobs are being affected by Covid 19.

Judy interesting paintings. Looks like fun.

Deb are you working from home ?

What's everybody up to today ?

Stay safe and well.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Good Morning!!

I'm still working at the office. Starting on Monday they're changing hours, building open 6 days a week, but cutting down on the number of people each day in the building. We will work 4 ten hour shifts, I'm working every Mon, Tues, and Weds, and by fourth workday will change week by week, some are working Thurs, Fri, Sat, with a changing 4th day. It's only until the end of April, so it shouldn't be too bad. The had originally though of creating a second shift, but they couldn't get enough people to agree to work evenings, even with a financial incentive.

The dogs are doing ok, but, I feel bad that they'll be inside for 11+ hours a day when I work. I'm hoping I can get someone to come over to let them out, otherwise it'll be newspapers by the door, and clean up to do when I get home. My daughter is a bar manager at a restaurant, so I may be able to get her to stop by, but, I know she's scrambling to get temporary work.

Love the paintings, Judy!! That looks like it was a fun day!

Take care!

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Well, complete change of plans. The governor announced we're supposed to "shelter in place". I'll be working from home for the next few weeks. Made a quick grocery stop on the way home this afternoon, and the crazy is worse now that this announcement has been made. I hope people listen and this helps contain the virus.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all, post will be short, fighting migraine, though 6 was early to bed, been there several hours.

Dianne, read about that, because truck can’t get through drive through and walk to window to place order they are told no, beyond disgraceful...truck stop not far from here, maybe I’ll follow your lead and do same.

Deb, that is a long day for not only the dogs but you as well.. are your restaurants closed as well? Your DIL sure has had a time of it...overwhelming for her I’m sure.

LIndakay, sure hope you are 9n the mend

That Karen is quite the smile, he is certainly lucky to have grandparents such as yo7 both..high school is hard enough without not wanting to smile..Lordy he sure has grown

Jude what can I say, what a caregiver you are, think you’ve earned your wings here on earth..great art..looking at my nails, sure need mine done.

Susan, how are things in your neck of the woods?

Hope I did not miss anyone

Brian was here today but only a couple of hours..he had bad lungs, cutting those tiles in half is bad for him..took him home and hoping he will come over weekend and maybe put lights in, what a fantastic job he is doing

Hoping excedrine migraine does it’s thing

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Got a lot of sewing accomplished. Have one done and ready for the long armer. I cut a piece of backing and batting for it. Since we have been here the big roll of batting has stood in a corner. So why did I today put a large plastic bag over it? Psychic maybe.
Tons of rain today nearly all day and at times very hard. Just as we were getting ready to sit down to dinner, one of the kids said "Hey there's water down in the basement. That was putting it mildly. Total flood, carpet soaked, I still don't know how all my sewing stuff is. most is up off the floor but I do have some machines in cases under the cutting table. Including my Vintage Singer Featherweight. So much ruined in Payton's room.
We spent so much for a guaranteed dry basement. People from the company are here now and I don't even want to go down there, I'll let the rest handle it. Have to see how much damage they are going to take care of.
Oh that batting I put a bag over? Dry as can be, it would have been ruined.
