Problem with tomato juice on the dog is that it has to stay on the dog and be allowed to soak in. One time I had a pink Samoyed sitting outside the house one time. Since then I always have a bottle of Skunk Off on hand. You can use it on a person too. It immediately starts to break down the enzymes.

Morning all, now the hustle and bustle starts, Christmas will soon be here.

Got house work done, Linda is coming so I can help her ciput her no sew blankets, said she would be here by 7:30 so I’m having coffee and cereal and will be ready for her.

This afternoon I’ll get a few hand towels and make my rendition of golf towels, cute embroidery design..not planning anything this weekend so hoping to have everything I need to keep me busy all weekend without going out.

Still didn’t put lights up and tree on front deck that gets hooked up to the music system, should test if before I start...

Mom left me a message asking if I was mD at her as she hadn’t heard from me since her last visit, called and chatted for 1/2 hour, even got brave/ashamed and invited her for Christmas...will be interesting having her and Sharon. at the house same time lol

LIndakay did get info from my doctor..it’s in surgeons hands..called surgeons office and it could be between tomorrow to 6 months before surgery. Big sigh.

Oh Betty I sure hope this appointment is sooner rather than later. Could you ask for a specialist in TO - that might make it faster. A friend here needed a knee replacement and went to Barrie to have it done.Instead of a 12 mon wait it was less than a month.

I’ve a call into my doctor..here is hoping maybe someone will cancel out during Christmas holidays .. thing is my doctor bypassed waiting to see a specialist and booked an surgeon to save time.

Was a beautiful day today, I decided i was hungry for turkey so bought the stuffed turkey roll, know what I’m having for supper tomorrow.
When I got home I sprayed a bunch of cans black as I have 3 nieces who come every year to do a craft Lordy it smells yucky, am sure it will be ok by morning....think I’ll turn the pizza can so it’s open on tote and decorate it so I can put a plant in or make an arrangement of greenery in it..

When I was at Home Depot they were taking and sorting Christmas trees off the truck, heard the girl say “these are awful trees to sell to people for $50” I almost chocked, just shook my head.she said these will have to sell for $15 so guess who bought one for front porch..now if only it’s as nice tomorrow as it is today I can get front deck done.

LINDA was here at 7:30 this morning, we got her 2 no sew blankets cut for her, I imagine she will be tying them this weekend.

Have 2 more rungs of a scarf so thought while I sit here I might get the scarf done then can sew in the strands..don’t have anyone’s name on it but gives me something to do... feel my head bobbing, maybe I’ll have a lay down, I find I work far better early morning.

Very good deal on the tree. I haven't had a real one for years, and even then, I think they started around $50.

Cold, drizzley day here, waiting for FedEx man to arrive. On Thanksgiving day Chewy had Purina ProPlan for 30% off. I have 350# of food arriving sometime this afternoon. Sitting home waiting because I don't want it sitting out in the rain. Stocking up sounded like a good idea at the time, but, not so sure right now!

Had the grand nieces 11,7,4 and they tuckered me out, not really, think the getting up at 3:30 did it.😜

Debbie that is a lot of food to contend with but what a deal...

The trees at Home Depot were starting at $89 then $10 lower as they got shorter by the foot. Wonder if it’s because almost everyone have fake trees that it’s putting price so high??

They are calling for bad weather your end and starting here later tonight, sooo want to f8nd energy to get front house done, have stuffed turkey roll in the oven and had to force myself into doing that..know if I have a nap that is the end of me..

Deb I buy the TH's kibble in bulk too. Not quite 350# but a lot. It's easier for me especially in the winter when the lane is iffy.

Chilly but sunny day here. I can look out the windows now and not get my knickers in a knot ..... I finally got all of the leaves raked and blown out of the way. One of the joys of living in the bush - lots of trees. The leaves I don't mind so much but the acorns drive me crazy. The chipmunks and squirrels go bananas over them when they fall to the ground and of course the TH follow suit.

Dropped in at the local craft show at the school when I was in the village. I had to leave before I saw it all but did get 3 wonderful whimsical framed prints. I can't get this second cataract surgery fast enough. It's this Tues so I can stop complaining. My eyes fight each other and I end up feeling dizzy.

Was moving some stuff yesterday and found the beautiful tree skirt Barb had made me. I don't have a tree anymore but I do get a huge pointsettia and drape the skirt around it.

Turkey roll sounds good Betty. Have you had it before?

I’ve been up since 5:30 so before the snow comes I’d best get to back shed for extension cords and see if I’ve any clear lights for the front deck tree...wouldn’t you know I took a big box to the dump a few weeks ago and now I might have to go buy more lol

The TH haven't even be walked yet. They have turned into dogs who like to sleep in. Chaos has turned into a holy terror when we walk. The last 3 days I have had to resort to putting him on his 20 ft leash again. He runs freely with it on but it gives me a better chance of grabbing him before he heads off to parts unknown. There must be some new smells out there as even Diesel goes on a tear but at least he comes back,

Deb did your dog food arrive ? There would be no delivery either by courier or Canada Post on a Sat. here

Same here Dianne, was just talking to mom, she has freezing rain..
Maybe you can hold off today and not walk them?? Don’t know I’d have the strength to pull on their leash to make them heal....Likely some small critters they are smelling, hope no skunks.

Good day for you to sit and read Dianne, can see a glowing fire as you sit and read..so inviting sit and knit and Ziggy is by my side, can’t knit, I go downstairs and who is laying on my project but Ziggy so not getting a lot done.

Put the lights up yesterday but need extension cords, guess I’d best go find some, know I have a long one I don’t want to use as it’s for generator should I loose power, the other 2 I use for pond and other for trip water features..sure hope not frozen to gro7nd..best I get out there before the snow comes..can I say I don’t want to do it??

Dianne, storm just hit here, ice,sleet,snow and strong winds..went to go out but not going to happen today..stay in, be safe!

Betty I am sure glad the storm hit before you got out on the road. I have one of those covers you use to put over your windshield and mirrors. I best get moving and get that done.

The TH have been walked. They were both on their best behaviour. I resorted to using my stern voice for commands and that helped.Since they were both so good I took them an extra mile so they are flaked out sound asleep on the bed. Poor Babies !!!! lol

Debbie if Betty and I are getting it you must be too. Sure hope you don't have to go out.

Staying in, actually all comfy on couch, cuddled with fleece blanket..think entire neighbourhood doing same, see no cars on the road!

Dianne we got Shannon moved just in time. Woke up to ice everywhere. Poor kid has been through hell losing her kitty suddenly, a money hungry veterinarian and midnight run to ER vet in Buffalo for help. Ended up having to put Raleigh down, and she feels so guilty. Now at new apartment....she has no heat. Picked up 2 portable heaters and pray safe and power stays on. Not even hot water .

Betty stay safe. DH went to New apartment ...she has brakelights out so waiting him to get back safe. Thinks he is in a tank with new car. NOT.

I'm hunkering down and being domestic. Having fun with a lot of goodies I got at 2 Christmas Bazaars yesterday. Made apple sauce. Cleaned out my fish tank. Did a load of laundry.Yaked on the phone to 3 of my family and two friends. My car is in the garage. Only the second time I have done this. It is going to be so nice not to have to scrape ice and snow off the car in the morning before I go to exercise. We had ice pellets and snow on top. Very cold..and we may get more overnight.

Debbie, where did Shannon move too? So sorry about her kitty.

Back home from our long visit up north. Thank goodness the weather behaved, just a wee bit of rain.
Shower was great fun and baby Arthur is still sticking tight.
I think we had about 35 for Thanksgiving yesterday. Lots of good food and laughs. Best part is all the cousins having such a good time together.

Linda Kay she moved to apartment closer to.her work. About 15 minute drive compared to 40...in good weather. It is actually not far from where Betty stays/shops up here

Dianne - my friend hasn't been by to visit yet - may be after Christmas... her health isn't great, plus she cracked some ribs & may have punctured her lung.... So, the round of Dr visits are happening. She says she's an accident waiting to happen, and has been this way since she was 6 years old...

Wow what a few hours can do to change the roads. We are snowed in - even the highways. #401 which is our major highway W - E has been closed right down in several areas across the province.People are just not driving to the conditions.Several multi car crashes - like 30+ vehicles.

Sure glad my surgery date is tomorrow. There is no way I could make it in today. I don't even hear the plows on the highway going through the village nor the township roads. I can hear the plows across the lake when they run.

Betty you must be slammed too. Don't you go out there and shovel. CITY news just came on. All the American early morning programs start at 4 am.

Debbie I am hoping Shannon got some heat. Nothing like Mom and Dad to the rescue.

Shannon sure has had a heckuva time with it, it’s times when your freezer ailing that they take it vantage at least most of them do. Sure hope she has heat, if something is going to happen it’ll happen to you guys...hugs. They are so good with getting our roads ploughed of course I’m in the Hamlet and it had stopped snowing fairly early and the sun tried it’s best to stay out all day.

Said self, don’t go shovel but then self answered back and said but who will do it and I knew the girls were coming this morning so I was out about six, took me an hour to get it done. Hasn’t snowed since so I’m sure hoping it doesn’t snow tonight or I’ll have to shovel for the girls 8n the morning.

Well,now that I’ve eaten I’m going to put fringe on another scarf I made over the weekend.

Ziggy wants out but he will soon see I’m calling it a night and will come cuddle.

Betty I laughed about you sending Jeff an invite to his own BD. I can top you.....I sent an email to a neighbour who died suddenly telling him he had died. lol I was doing a lane mass email.

I had quite a scare with Diesel today. I thought I had lost him for sure. Long story short he was missing for over an hour. I searched and called. Needless to say I was frantic. Jim a neighbour down the lane came down and we were going to do a grid search. Jim who is a young buck with much better eye sight looked through the bush and way out in the swamp was Dies. He had fallen through the ice. He's very tired and 1 of his back legs is giving him trouble. We'll deal with it... at least I have him to hug.

Tomorrow morning a friend will take me into Kingston. They will not do the surgery if you do not have someone with you before when you arrive and when you are discharged.Have to be there at 8:30 am surgery at 10:25 then the several hours wait until they discharge you.
