One might include the washable cover, the other might not. I had one and had to return it, it made my arthritis more painful, the extra weight on the joints, especially my ankles.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends,old & new, come sit a spell!!
Safe travels Betty,
Pat sending positive thoughts and prayers for your cousin.
LK how are you feeling this morning ?
Have a nice smile now so I don't have to hide my mouth when I talk or laugh. Learning curve on the bottom plate though. Lining up the plate with the 2 implants is a challenge but I am sure with practice it will become easier.
Dull and dreary here but without the wind it is fairly warm. Only needed a hoodie when the TH and I toshed down the lane. I had started out with a jacket, scarf and hat.If someone came down the lane I am sure they would be bewildered as I hang my outer garments on a tree or brush as I go along.
Stay safe and well
Oh my goodness the sun just popped out. Woo hoo !!
Glad to hear you have a new set of teeth Dianne. It took my mom forever to get her dentures fitted correctly. Back then, they didn't have implants.
I am feeling better. Still have a nagging cough. Dr said it may take some time for it to go away.
LOL... you needed to add a pair of spare jeans, shirt & bra to your tree "clothes line" and REALLY get people talking!
😜 That would be hilarious.
Linda Kay..thanks for refreshing my memory of Dianne's name.
Feel better soon LindaKay.
Cheers,
Carol
No problem.
ooooooh new teeth - I know what you mean about your smile. I was SO self-conscious of my smile, now it's SO much more of a happy thing to smile. I need my bottom teeth adjusted though, too.
I got some wonderful news tonight - a friend of mine in Calgary is asking to come out & visit us! This will be a first. We have friends in Calgary (also without cars) that won't take the bus to see us. We've driven there, and seen them.
Joni plans on coming for a few days. She had said one day, but I asked why only one. She thought it may be over-stepping to ask for more, and we agreed on 3. It would be before Christmas - thinking the 9th, 10th, 11th of Dec. On Mon,Tues,Wed, she'd get to meet a lot of our friends, too, and join me in activities - SO excited!
I know you will have a lot of fun having her visit.
She's going to come on the 8th, 9th, 10th. This way she'll get to come to the Seniors Christmas dinner @ Silver Willows on the 8th. Her bus comes to Olds, about 25 min drive from us. Nicer to drive to town to pick her up, than to go to Calgary 1 hour away, and have to deal with big-city traffic 😬
How much fun will that be Susan..
Well 36 hours of shopping and another day to go
The girls got me to hotel just after 7 last night, they went out and came back in about 2:30 this morning, Linda was up at 5:30am and I wasn’t too far behind ..met our Debbie for breakfast at Cracker Barrel, of course difficult to converse when we are shopping away but so nice to see her..shaking my head, she spoilt me and the girls
I’d chat some more but just turned my neck and wow, screamed big time so took meds and calling it a night..got to say I’m one tired girl
Good thing you have a large vehicle. Praying you are feeling better tomorrow.
Good night Betty - hope your meds & sleep help your neck!
I've made some Chinese checkers boards for sale next Saturday at the Christmas Market in Three Hills - we have a table from 10 -4pm, selling Bob's scarves, my games & salsa and perhaps a turkey doll.
I've stained outside the playing area, now I'm drawing the lines between the holes.I don't think I'll paint colours in the middle. Maybe, but likely not - maybe just varathane or polyurethane it
Happy for you Susan. You will have fun telling her all about your activities.
Sorry your neck is giving you such pain Betty.
Wow..so many bags of goodies.
Just got in
This weekend gave new meaning to ‘shop til you drop’
Sleep tight. Can't wait to see what all you bought.
Is It morning already? It’s a sunshine day here, snow is gone, although exhausted I just might try and out front lights on front deck and 8n pine tree..everything I bought us in one of the back bedrooms, bought lovely Xmas canvas bags so will get each ready and under the tree, likely not today though..girls come at 9 then comes after noon lol.
Thought I was done Christmas shopping for all but looks like they got another round...lol
Had lovely visit with Debbie, just too busy though so she will have to come here so it’s longer and more relaxed than everyone shifting around.
Ohhh and I got more Xmas goodies, just what I needed right?? Lovely arched angel picture frame that lights up, will have to take a photo when I get it up and a knower that has advent circles, not sure where he will go..his purpose is to be perhaps be my the 2020 workshop project..when fabric sales occur after Christmas I will get the feel for him, in the meantime I can enjoy him.
Ohhh picked up a painting from Debby that Sharon had painted by an artist in Arizona I think..picture I will post does not do justice to it..with all her home contraction she doesn’t want to take plastic cover off.
What did you all get up to this weekend?
Beautiful painting.
Not much going on here. Cleaning house and getting ready for Thanksgiving Thursday.
Beautiful painting! Is that Inuk in the painting?
Yes it is Debbie..
Almost forgot, you all have thanksgiving to contend with while we canuks are waiting for christmas
ah yes - we have a month in between - appreciate that month, too. Time to slow down on the eating fest LOL
Saturday I went to the hospital to get my routine INR done, Sunday off to church then to a friend's to show her how to put stuff for sale on Varage Sale. The rest of the time it's been pretty quiet.
Today I went to Coffeetime at the senior's center, and tomorrow the Tuesday Social Group are going out for Christmas lunch
Karen..you must feel a great deal of pride. Such a precious gift.
Glad to hear they loved the quilt.
Betty, are you still crafting?
All now have their Advent calendars and all loved them. Since we have new babies this year, I'll probably need to make a couple more.
Karen, that tree is beautiful. So is your home.
Beautiful tree, Karen! Love the fence around it!! I have a dog exercise pen around mine to keep my ornaments safe.
Gorgeous tree,..huge!..looks like it could be in a hotel lobby.
Pouring rain here today, was like spring yesterday,
Just calling my doctor, was on hold 15 minutes, gave up..think I will try again..
Wow Karen is all I can see..absolutely breathtaking!
Betty, I hope you got through to your Dr.
Yes I did then they gave me the number of the surgeon, I called his office and the receptionist said anywhere from tomorrow to six months. I told her I can barely get through a day how to heck will I ever get through six months
Today would’ve been my 54th wedding anniversary
Already had my bath and heading to bed
Call your Dr back Friday, and tell him to call the surgeon. Maybe he can push things along.
Aw Betty, Hugs.
Happy Thanksgiving !! I sure wish we lived close enough to each other we could share a meal together. May your day be filled with laughter, family, friends and happiness.
Karen your tree is breathtaking. It certainly highlights your beautiful home.
Happy Thanksgiving, sure hope you have the best of days and especially enriched if you have family and friends to share share..for those who will be spending it alone enjoy and know you will see them in just a few weeks...
So what are you doing today, cooking, going out? Do any of you do Black Friday?
Sharon just called, her dogs got sprayed by a skunk this morning, not a happy camper.
It’s a damp day here, brings out the aches and pains, will call doctors office and get
A home visit, hopefully before Christmas .. just hoping it’s the mass that is causing all tis pain and once surgery is done I’ll not have to continue the sear,oh woe is me right lol
Something happened yesterday, I decided to go to office about 1 as I have the cookbook project I’m working on for Paul and wanted to review a few things, was told he had gone for lunch with Rene his brother..he is the one a month or so before Roger died had taken off with my brothers wife, rene’s Wife was Linda, my cousin I grew up with who I travel and see a lot, so not my favourite person... then Roger died and Rene and I had major words, never spoke, the few times we were in same event both would avoid being in same room, I’d get glares of hatred.
Yesterday he walked in to the office, said ‘Betty how are you” caught me by surprise, I had a gift for Paul, something he had been looking for, Rene said “gift for me?” I told him no but had I known he was coming there would have been one.
When he and LInda were married, not a weekend they didn’t come up to enjoy our home on the water, many great memories, lots remembered so even a “hi Betty” was touching.
I’ve rambled on, hot bath awaits me...Debbie gave me a beautiful display of Doctor Teals bathing products but it is so beautiful I hate to open it.
Ohh Greg and Melanie dropped in last night, Greg had photo’s of the puppets in the working, I think jeff’s When done will look like him, did not like Greg’s but Greg tells me they still kneed their skin and said the are also working puppets, not just for golf club so who knows, maybe they will take up ventriloquist in their retirement.
I did 2 of the 20-30 gingerbread men yesterday cute but maybe too consuming with Christmas a month away so we will see..think my goal will be 2 scroll pillows and a Victorian 4 piece throw, now let’s see what I actually get done...need to go to town as well. Ahhh
Does Sharon have Skunk Off ? She can get it at the vet's. It's excellent. Wonder how I know....lol
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Todd and I are here. He has invited a single guy from work to join us. We will be eating about 2.
Todd's older sister called last night at 6, told us that his sister Eve had passed away. She is not suffering anymore.
My condolences to all of you..how very sad but not suffering as you say..will you be travelling to the funeral? Nice to have company but perhaps Todd isn’t up to it..
Dianne, just told Sharon about it, she was trying to get something, not sure if peroxide or something similar, hopefully a local vet will have something.
No funeral services. She will be cremated, and a memorial service later.
Betty, I have heard tomato juice works to get rid of the skunk smell.
