Pat, my dad on left (Bernard) and step father Jim on right..
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? Come sit a spell, newcomers always welcome..come join in the chat!
My Dad had SEVERE COPD so I am familiar with the nasty cough. So many times I thought he would not come home from the hospital "this time". I am grateful he died at Marie's home, not in a hospital.
Morning all, going to be a stellar day in my neighbourhood, high of 59 then rain for over a week.
Karen lovely photo of you and your hubby, means you will have to take another day to see the colours.
Pat, my dad fell ill right when we had the SARS outbreak, i and stepmother were in the hospital with him, never left for few days as if you did might not get back in..only when they knew he was on his last breath they let me call family, he passed just before they got there... glad your dad was at Marie’s..dad kept saying if he went in he would never come home...big sigh.
Finishing coffee then going to try again to attack that basement cleaning.
Morning all. Nice photo Karen. So nice to be out in the sunshine looking at the scenery. I love this time of year with all the colours.
Pat..I did have a few tries at getting to know the app and get the tickets ordered. Just takes patience.
Betty, I did enjoy seeing Will Smith in the Gemini Man movie..but there is a lot of violence, but also human interest in the story. Amazing special effects.
Does anyone else feel achy in the morning when you get up. It takes me a while of moving around to feel better ..this morning woke up with an achy shoulder..can't imagine why.
I have exercise today..then will help Liz with a facebook thing. She is not computer savvy,..it frustrates her so much.
And this is Betty in front of my gazebo several years ago. We had a lovely visit ..went to a garden centre and had dinner here. and a tour of my garden. Good Memories.
Have a good day all.
Karen, I love that photo. I sure do miss the fall colors. No trees here that change colors.
Thanks for the photo of Betty. Looks like you have a large yard and garden.
Thank you Karen. My lot is an acre. The back third is what I call The Secret Garden.
It has gone through a lot of transformation since 1998 when it began.
My "secret garden" was LOTS smaller than yours! Thru an arch, into an area only about 12 x 12, it was wear the irrigation water stuff was, behind a "picket fence gate" was free standing to block the view. I had several unique flowers back there and a metal sculpture of a cat jumping for a bird.
My 3rd son... "you can't tell anyone about it or it won't be a SECRET anymore!" I had my beautiful Angel bench back there as well.
Morning all, just put the garbage to the roadside, cold but that is to be expected..
Girls come this morning, will have coffee and get dressed or visa versa lol
Thanks for sharing the photo, was indeed a great day and I was in awe of your gardens, which resulted in a lot of my gardens. You are blessed with such a spectacular garden centre near you, I have the garden gallery in Barrie but not the same. The are advertising a wine and cheese and first look at what is new for the year, imagine for the Christmas season..was sooo tempted to go but I’d get in mega trouble. Lol
The Barrie Molsons Center is having their craft show this weekend, one of the vendors in the fall has s spike of bull rushes in rusted iron, passed on it so I’m hoping they are at Molsons and will buy it, could be my early Christmas gift right?
Still sneezing, head aching but much better so I am hoping working with girls on Christmas projects will give me the energy to be creative.
Melanie would like me to do a class (tomatoes cage greenery gnome) with her and friends but don’t think I’m up to it.
Best I get a move on
Do you have a photo of the tomato cage gnome? That sounds interesting.
Beautiful photos Debbie.
LindaK, you beat me to asking!
I know I have a photo of the gnome somewhere, probably take me two weeks to find it.
Betty sounds like you might need to do that lesson after all
Maybe for our Christmas project?
Those are so cute. I need to find some greenery.
That's the one I saw. Pretty darned cute.
CUTE!!
Betty, are you crafting or knitting? Haven't seen you post anything.
Don't know if any of you knew BJ Wilson, but I heard from her sister today, that she passed away back in August. She woke up one morning, told her husband she couldn't breathe, he rushed her to the hospital, and she went into cardiac arrest. She went pretty quickly.
oh no......... yes, I remember BJ. Very sad indeed. She can't have been that old.....
It's a shock to everyone, but she didn't suffer long. My heart & prayers go out to the family.
Betty, are you ok? Not like you to not post for a few days.
50 for our high temperatures today. Supposed to drop to mid to low 30's tonight.
Cold here tonight too but at least the rain stopped for Trick or Treat.
Morning everyone, cold dark and gloomy..chance of snow they’re t 4 days..knew it was coming so best I get fall put back into back shed, usually Christmas comes out at America time, 1 fall tote in and I bring a winter one back..decorate early so I’m not doing it in a foot or so of snow, this year, big sigh, not sure I want to...
Yes I knew. BJ and her sister Joanna, she came to the DG gathering I had here where Debbie, Joyce, Judy, Janice and Stacey came..Judy and Debbie brought their hubbies, Stacey brought her little girl and told us she was pregnant for her sone and BJ brought her sister Joanna. I still have the pen and few other items such as earrings and salt shakers she made out of polymer clay..they were beautiful..yes she was much too young to pass on..
Heavy Rain and strong winds lasts night but managed to shell out about 55 kids..majority in early teens but costumes creative/outstanding in design.
Still fighting this cold, Suzanne and Sharon are still in early stages, hoping next few days it will have passed.
Yesterday morning I managed to get out my paint supplies and finish basecoating the 3 wood cookbook covers for Paul..next week I’ll spend another day to do highlight and give them a finish, all that will remain is typing recipe’s in cookbook recipe format..
Kyle came over last night, was last day for discounted snowmobile passes, today they were going up by $60 each..for he ordered his and greg’s For me..there went a quick $400.
Looked at my Christmas list, almost done, will buy the usual clothing for them when I’m in Buffalo then buy the or give $$ for the other 7...
Was thinking of purchasing nice Christmas wrap and start some wrapping when I get bore..I’ve about 18 family name scroll pillows I’ve got made so I have to start buying pillow inserts, going to Barrie Craft show tomorrow so maybe I’ll buy them and get it over with, they will have to be put in bags though.
Anyone else thinking Christmas?
Working on it. Have all the embroidered reading pillows done. Working on assembly now. Then on to the tee-shirt quilt commission. Nice to have a bit extra for spending on my bunch.
Only thing I have done for Christmas so far is buy a light up pillow. It has pine tres on it and tiny white lights on one of the trees.

Glad to see you posting Betty, we worry when you don't post for a few days.
Very smart looking chair. A bright spot for the gloomy days ahead.
Beautiful chair Betty. I hope it is as comfortable as it looks.
I love that pillow.
chair is beautiful. LOVE the pillow, very attractive addition to the holidays Carol.
My Aunt Dorothy's funeral was today. Only 2 siblings left of my mother's generation & spouses. Aunt GladysMae is 92 and Wilbur I think 100.
Only had 3 groups of trick or treaters. Glad I bought Halloween pencils! Now I can donate the leftovers to the schools.
Sorry to hear about your Aunt passing away. Sending prayers for the family.
Chair is beautiful, I'm sure Ziggy will love it.
Pat so sorry about your aunt. I just have two aunts left of that generation also. Both my mom's sisters. Bonnie is 90 and Carol is 81. After them I am the oldest.
We only had one trick or treater - little guy about 4 or 5 yo. Cute, but don't ask me what he was dressed as lol Father was in the front street, watching his son. I waved at him :)
Huge hugs Debbie ,,,,,,my heart aches for you.
Evening all, what a day..cold and dreary but no snow.
Dr’s office called last night after 8pm to ask if I’d be home around 11 today, said I had plans with friends to do craft show but I’d forgo it as I needed to see him...she asked me to hold a minute, changed an appointment for 1:30..
Met the girls for breakfast in Barrie and did the craft show (rushed like crazy) and got home at 12:30..no sooner got in that I got a call from doctors secretary who is his daughter to say an unforeseen event took place and he would come between 4-5 so here I wait..he does calls for many who are taking their last breathe so I can’t complain..
All the room snow have Christmas quilts on the beds, some of the good Christmas decorations that don’t go out in totes are in place..back deck has 5 fall and Halloween totes waiting to be carried to back shed, Jeff might come tomorrow afternoon so I will wait for him.
I did buy 3 gifts at craft show, a local artist had trip ticks of Georgia bay, bought a set for Paul as part as his Xmas pressie, the metal artist had hangers for helmets, bought one to go with snowmobile trail pass, just need sweater and Jammie’s and Greg is done..they had a lovely square sign I couldn’t resist buying for Melanie..at breakfast I gave all the girls a scarf so all and all it was a nice but busy day.. hoping tomorrow all the Xmas b8ns will come in, I’ll keep the trees till December
I love that pillow Carole, where did you get it or did you make it? I have a throw that lights up
Hey Betty, stretch that quilt out and let me get a good look at it! I'm sure I've seen it before but I wanna see it again!
