Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends old/new..come sit a spell..

It's pretty easy Betty, In the car they either snooze or play with electronics. Here there are even more kids and they haven't seen each other in some time so they all keep each other busy. Also a pool.
Enjoying our visit, wish we had more time. Wish we had a pool at home. It was one thing pretty high on my wish list when house hunting. Problem was in our price range, if they had a pool, The condition of the house was worse than we wanted to deal with. Or the condition of the pool was poor. If we could have spent around $600,000, different story.

Hi Everyone
well, it's official - I have a viral infection in my right lung - fluid at the bottom - Dr put me on clarithromycin, and will call me next week for a followup visit to see how the meds are working. I knew something wasn't quite right when I couldn't shake this cough, which became a head cold for 3 days, then back to the cough. Yeah, still have the cough....... anyway, hoping this med will help.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope you are feeling better soon Susan.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Everyone, and to our Canadian friends happy Canada day!

Susan get well, one knows there own body and can tell when something more is amiss.

Karen, Those above pools you get at Walmart or something like that would do the trick while the kids are there wouldn’t it and they are fairly reasonable. Keep thinking maybe I should get one of those smaller ones you see just to be able to get in and cool off but for the 2-3 days that he gets like that not much sense as I could easily go to the lake a few blocks away, which I should be doing as I do miss living on lake.

Carol, are your gardens in full bloom?

Yikes, forgot I had the tub running, that was a near disaster lol

LIndakay, scorching hot in your neck of the woods?

Dianne, along with your young helper are you getting near the end of cleaning and planting gardens?

Rain into early morning, tad foggy, likely can’t do anything outside till it dries up... did my walk around though, not much happening recolour and lots of plants down because of the heavy rain, I am sure they will spruce up once the sun comes up.

Want to get that table painted this afternoon seeing I’ll be getting my pretty galvanized flowers from Debbie tomorrow and could get them on the shed wall to start the little vignette area before summers end.

Feeling better this morning although I had a sleepless night don’t you hate those nightmares. Would’ve liked to of gone out and did some weeding not much just a little weeds lol but no can-do. Guess I’ll go downstairs and work on a project, I could cut a few pieces of wood to finish off that church frame and get it out of the backyard and hung somewhere later on or look and see what embroidery patterns I have for the machine to kind of make a wooden wreath so I could work on that fall piece..We’re spending almost a week on the couch I need to get active I’m a little antsy today, tomorrow Sharon and I will leave early in the morning and head to Debbie’s neck of the woods, will be so nice to see her...always warms the heart to see her joyful smile!

Bath time, then will have my 1st coffee and see what I can get into..

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Linda Kay..I thank you for using Susan's real name. I couldn't remember from way back. I had to refer to Susan as Tallulah. So..Susan..feel better soon. First your denture..and then this infection. No fun at all!

Foggy here after having rain. Need to go to the grocery store for a few things.
Happy Canada Day weekend Susan, and Betty.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It has been 99 for awhile, but with the humidity it feels like 115.

This is the start of the decline of the gazebo in 2017.

Such a shame about the gazebo.... I would love to have one some day but the new patio I am having bid on right now will have to do!!

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Yes..Pat..but it was built 21 years ago..so I guess it has done well till this point.
I look forward to seeing your progress on the new patio.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I hope you got some sleep. Enjoy your trip and visit with Debbie.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

That's why we are going with cement composite decking. Would have been about the same price or cheaper to just go with poured cement but I'm nervous about a slab of cement there. At least with decking we could pull up some if there was something we needed to do. There shouldn't be ANYTHING there to create issues but something tells me to hedge my bets on this.

Sorry I am late with Happy Canadian day wishes! I hope the day was memorable and fun!

We get the 4th off & I'm taking the 5th, that plus my normal Sat, Sun & Monday off will make a nice break. Unfortunately I will not have a care giver until Sunday. That's when our new weekend person starts. Her sister is in town from Burma so we postponed her start date until after Sister & family returned to their country. .

At our 2nd joann’s here there are no trees and wind has died down so we are taking turn sitting in vehicle with the dogs..Sharon is shopping then I get to shop

Linda Kay gave Debbie a giant hug for you

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hi Betty, Glad you are home safe and sound and with a few goodies. How long does it take to drive to Buffalo from Victoria Harbour? Was the traffic heavy, being our long weekend? Happy Canada Day!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mornin all, another sunshine day, great Canada day weekend.

Carol traffic very light going and coming, seems we were always going against it.dont know where everyone was going heading towards Niagara Falls about 4pm because almost from Hamilton to Lewiston USA cut off it was bumper to pumper.
It takes is about 2 1/2 - 3 hours, wait at border was about 10 minutes both ways.

Guess you worked in the gardens yesterday..I’m heading out once I’ve made my coffee..look forward to playing lol

What are you all doing today?

Now comes your 4th of July, any special travel to family, family coming up to celebrate?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Going to be nice and quiet here. The 4th is on Thursday, so I don't think we will be shooting off fireworks. We might go down town to see the public ones.

Pacifica, CA

betty,
I think it was just one of those one time offers I haven't seen them in joanns this year either.

I will make 2 Liz as I thought it was a perfect gift for us travellers

Pat I imagine it’s just too dry for household firecrackers

Worked outside this morning..
Church window left an imprint on the side of the shed, should repaint..today’s photo’s,this mornin, this afternoon

Need to find a galvanized pail..must go in search of one

Betty, have you had a chance to move your gnome back out to the corner? How's it coming together? You could also sponge on white paint onto that milk can. Very popular look, you wouldn't want it painted ALL white, kind of defeats the weathered look then! Lots of cool galvanized pails in our Walmarts.

We had a big family thing at Ben's nieces yesterday in Yakima (1.5 hours away). His EX was there as usual, I do wish they would not invite her but oh well. Ben's incontinence seems to bother me LOTS more than him. I know I would make different choices (like not drinking 2 cans of pop & a bottle of water).

All 3 of Bens daughters were there. Emily is only West coast for a few days before she & family return to Indiaplolis. Youngest is severe autistic and for the whole, I though he did pretty good in strange environment with all the people he did not know.

Morning excitement was having son wake me to take him to PCP for eye ulceration & then on to specialist referral and then RX & three stores trying to find an eye patch. They did not give him ANY pain meds, I gave him what I still had.

OK, now I can get on with the day I PLANNED LOL... I am grateful my son KNOWS I will ALWAYS have his back. Couple of years ago we had to make emergency trip to Portland for eye complications (4 hours in the dark, NOT my favorite time to drive).

I LOVE my country but am NOT fond of fireworks. I equate them with fire and injuries, lost pets and other trauma. I am hoping for uneventful 4th. I am taking 5th off work as PTO so have 5 days in a row off. No caregiver, (multiple reasons) so I guess I am home whether I want to be or not. Traveling with Ben is a nightmare that I hope to never have to do again.

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Betty your shed area looks so inviting. Well done. Thanks for the info on your trip to Buffalo. I was just curious as to why you drive all that way for shopping. But of course, I know this trip was because you had to pick up your pretty metal flowers and see Debbie.

Pat..sorry to hear of your son's eye injury. How did he hurt it?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I swear you must have 50 acres, with all your seating area, ponds and hidden rooms. They are all beautiful.

Victoria Harbour, ON

No acreage LIndakay, extra lg back yard but the wat I’ve planted trees and added fencing etc it makes up a nice walking area..girls were here today, both Pat and Wanneta say each time they walk the gardens they see something new..

Now if you want to see garden rooms and acreage it’s at Carols place.

Went for another massage this afternoon, yikes it hurt when they are trying to work nerve creating the pain, guess in long run it helps..dropped into Paul’s, he had a tarp for one of his boats that needs repair, have it to do, dropped into Darlene’s, friend of ours behind darlene’s Trailer in Florida had a stroke today, operated due to blockage/brain, here is hoping he is ok...told her I had to make something to hold my arm to my body as to lessen pain, she had a Velcro waiste belt for her back, now to figure out how to add an arm pocket so I can keep arm close to keep body..

If it doesn’t rain I have a man coming to work for the day, cutting some tree and others cutting branches off seeing I feel like I’m deep into the forest..going to fix that, at least my part..am anxiousfor the guys behind me to take a lot of trees from between me and them in order to get more light and of course less skitters.

Have to try and sneak a peak at neighbors yard, sounds like he has been rak8ng all day..lol

Drats, I wanted to go make myself comfy in bed, but Ziggy gets to the door then decides he doesn’t want in,,,grrr last night he layed across my legs, I’d move and he would move ended up head at top on right and body facing lower left end..might have to close my bedroom door for a bit so I can rest comfortably.

I see Karen you bought an above ground pool for the wee ones, not the lake but cools them off..happy they are I’m sure.

About it in my neck of the woods...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't cut too much Betty, or you will be wishing you couldn't see whats really on the other side.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Most will be on my own property tree limbs hiding light, saplings growing in the gardens that are 6-8 feet.

Not sure he will come today though as I got message from SHARON to say Devon, guy that worked for her was doing work in basement, Sharon left upstairs gate open a tad, went downstairs to check on him, inuk managed to get through the gate and bit him in leg, small puncture wound but right in the leg muscle, am sure he is hurting...

I’ll go out this morning and mar down things I’d like him to do if he comes today, when I all the property I say, need this moved, that moved, need new water pump in small water colum, big planter moved to fron bench, thins that are heavy.

Should be sleeping. In but wide awake, Ziggy didn’t come home till 2 this morning so I kept getting up to check .,, grrr

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about the dog bite, praying it is not too bad, and he doesn't take her to court. So many are quick to call the cops, then a lawyer.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Linda, I agree with the vista & setting areas etc, it seems like Betty has acres & acres!

Sorry to hear about the dog bite. The man's pain & the anxiousness that must raise in Sharon.

Starrz, my son has a medical condition called Keratoconus, it's the even surface of the eye. The unevenness causes extra pressure in the eye which can let to a alteration, similar to skin splitting when there is excessive pressure from swelling. He had started the process to get a cornea replacement, which will restore the vision in that eye, but NOW that is postponed as his eye has to be healthy and stable 3 months before they can do that. A disappointment for sure.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry to hear your son has yet to wait Pat..serious thepissibility of losing an eye..
Did a video tour of my gardensto give you perspective but it’s about 15 minutes long with me chatting, if you know how I can get it here let me know..had thought of posting on utubethetakinglink here..not the greatest atthis so helpplease.

Devon is at Sharons today, said leg ok..inuk must have been hurt by a man because he suredoesntlikethem..once he finishes at Sharons today he will drop his equipment here so he will be ready to start in morning..

Haven’t had breakfast yet so best I do then get outside, maybe even cut grass.

Been sitting here pushing shoulder into back of couch to put pressure on it..should try and figure out a mechanism made with the back brace Darlene gave me yesterday..not a great day, maybe if I pretend it is it will be lol

Hi - I'm back. Yes, Carol - I'd forgotten your name too, until someone called you by your real name lol Aren't we a pair though?

I phoned my family Dr yesterday to make a followup visit re: my hospital checkup & x-ray. He wants to know What Changed since my echo test in March, and now, for me to have fluid in my lungs. He's not ruling out asthma or pneumonia. Sent me for blood tests to see what's going on with me. The Clrithromycin isn't working, BUT, I got some Calmylin cough syrup yesterday, and it's working a treat. I slept longer & am doing better for my cough. Now, to wait to see my Dr about the blood tests. He'll call for my next followup, when he gets the results.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope you get proper diagnosis and treatment Susan.
