Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends old/new..come sit a spell..
Hi everyone, I seem to lurk on this site off and on .. am hoping Betty is OK .. absolutely hate it when one of us is in an upheaval or 'bad way' ..
I too am going into ikky stuff .. haven't been invited to our grandsons grade 12 graduation, simply nothing from our DS .. infuriating .. trying to let it roll off, but, it is difficult;
Lorna is busy planting her beds, and, the overnight temps in the low 40s scare her .. am sure all will be well .. always is .. she keeps saying this will be her last year .. we'll see as her Mom, at 89, is slipping a bit mentally, still on her own, but getting a tad feeble.
The dogs keep us busy, and, poor LoL
Sharon, so sorry re your dear Vern's passing .. he'll be missed, you certainly were an amazing caregiver ..
Susan, how's the teeth ?
Karen, the Shop Hop sounds fun ..
Stay well all of you

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Several ladies invited me to come to our little quilt shop, when I got there, they gave me a surprise birthday party. It was so much fun.
64 today.
Morning everyone, raining, has been raining for a few days steady and calling for rain into Monday night good for Sharon’s move..
Don’t want to start from step one just know it was such a hard time for Sharon since Wednesday that I was sick to my stomach and so stressed every muscle in my body was acting up, but all seems to be going OK today and hopefully all the problems resolved.
Long story short Sharon went to the lawyers on Wednesday to sign the paperwork for the sale of her house and for the new home. The lawyer went through the document then he showed her a subdivision plan that she had no knowledge of it, nobody ever brought it up and it had such things as no building of wood fences no building of dog House etc. etc.,
Oh Sharon and her show show dogs both were an absolute must and the realtor knew that. When she call the realtor the realtor said she had never in all the years of working as a realtor ever done a search for such things. So asked me if Sharon wasn’t totally out of it, her plan was to move everything into the garage is and put it up for sale the day she moves in and start looking into quite a loss she would’ve lost fees for realtor she put out which is over $100,000 the 10,000 she put out for land taxes 25,000 for her move and there was 2000 for something else but I can’t quite remember what that was. The trauma of finding another place alone after all her worries about moving in the first place was unbearable for her.
Day I took a drive to the subdivision and looked at all the homes and no there were no fencing they are such beautiful lots 2 1/2 acres each beautifully Landscaped.
One place had metal fencing picket fence widely spaced to go around the pool but that wouldn’t do for the dogs for several reasons one being when they see people walking around they’re not used to being anywhere where there are people where she lives now she’s got 50 acres so they bark, a wooden fence would help somewhat.
So yesterday I went back with my camera because I thought oh my God you must be able to build something just can’t see you can’t build anything???
When you get to a T on top of the hill there are two homes to the right Sharon is to the left I could see in the corner that one of the homes had a wooden fence, not right around the property buta fence made of wood, knocked at the door and several little doggies came to greet me but nobody came and answered the door, so I went around back calling thinking maybe she was working outside and I saw quite a big area fenced in but it could’ve been for a pool. As I was pulling out of the drive the second house the people were coming out so I gave them a bit of the just of what was going on and he said that fenced in area was indeed for jobs and that most of the people in the area Had invisible fencing, will Sharon would never go for that one in new tool be getting shot definitely and how right she is I never thought of it but living in the middle of a forest many animals that prey for eats can attack dogs caught in invisible fencing.
The couple directed me to a home of a woman Who was directly involved with drafting of these subdivision rules. Much of them no longer exist even though the subdivision agreement says it’s good until 2020. This subdivision underwent many changes when the first developer went out of business and second company took over
Turns out I know her husband who is Morgan construction and he did all the work in that subdivision with all these heavy equipment, even got a few lights when the first contractor went out of business. So Linda His wife was so nice and got all the paperwork sent it to lawyers name background as to what had changed and what Sharon could do to build which she wants the bill has to be approved but should be no problem so the weight of the world with a chair and shoulders but what a time of it for a few days...
Movers are coming this morning at 9 o’clock , will pack everything up in a Couple moving vans and take to their shop and deliver tomorrow.Sharing can then give the house the one over and go to Barrie law office to see if the keys are ready for her new home, if not ready she will just wait as she’ll have the dogs with her in the van so here’s hoping that everything goes good today. When she leaves Barrie she will call me and I will leave here and go to her house won’t be much we can do today but so welcome I’ve got one of those self blowup mattresses that will do for a bed tonight then tomorrow morning I’ll go over and spend the day to see what I can do to help her
So my dears that was my few days..Glad Linda Kay that your day with your surprise party brought you great joy! how wonderful of them to arrange the festivities. Hope everyone else is OK I’m on the run!
Happy Belated Birthday, Linda Kay!! Sorry I missed it! I just hit 64 last week! How nice of them to have a surprise party for you.
Oh my Betty, what a Kerfuffle. Glad it's all getting ironed out. Just seems like there is always something with moves.
OMG! So sorry she is going through so much, just to buy a home. I can imagine the stress.
Thanks for the birthday wishes.
Wow! What a fiasco, glad everything got straightened out. Hope things go smoothly moving forward for her.
Just got home, Sharon is in her new home, less than 10 m8nutes from me..movers were to keep everything and come up early tomorrow but they asked Sharon if they could come tonight’s..they started unpacking about 7, were still come when I left 1/2 hr ago, imagine they are near finished...sigh of relief
Sorry to hear about the stress and panic. A stomach ache for sure!
I am STILL screaming mad. My Lead Case manager (she is also Ben's case manager) said that Ben's former caregiver said we asked him to do things for the whole family, he claimed I even had him GARDENING! I am so angry. I have been very careful to NOT have him work in areas of the house that Ben does not go (like game room) or clean the bathrooms that Ben does not use etc, etc. For Marty to lie like that just makes me want to scream.
On top of that, I am certain that the state paid Marty the money they owe US!! The State made a mistake and took money out of Marty's paycheck, and rather than make him wait for the money, I paid him. So we have been waiting since February to get the money back...$273. On Tuesday, I will question the Lead and ask her to check if the state has now paid him.
Oh Pat, so sorry, you sure don't need that aggravation. Wonder why he would lie? Sure hope you get your money back.
Rain rain go away, come back another day..
Sure getting tired of it..grass /weeds getting so ahead of me again that when you do have a nice day you have to catch up.
Pat disgraceful of that person to do such a thing, not a wonder you are upset with both..isn’t she the one who was going to write you up? Try and get some garden time and relax, take a heal8ng day.
I’m going to get dressed, have a coffee then drop in to sharon’s..not a lot that I can help with, matter of unpacking boxes..most have to wait until she ‘day at the lake’ quilt June and I are doing
Shop Hop is done, sure was fun but three days of getting nothing else done except for presenting a QOV to a so sweet Veteran in Gatlinburg. "Sparky" is a glass blower in the Artisan Village in Gatlinburg. We had noticed on our last visit that he was a Veteran so we took a QOV with us. He was surprised and very touched. He gave each of us a lovely ornament he made. His shop is always a favorite stop when we get over that way.
You will have to take photo of ornaments Karen..
I was at Sharons for a tadtoday, I needed to go to Barrie so I got a list from her and did a few groceries for her..
Barrie was a zoo, already they have started Canada day parades..lots of roads closed..next weekend we have ours which means 3 days ibands in my back yard.
Did buy a few things though, the pattern for the Christmas bench pillow, someoutdoor yardage, solar flame steaks, mosquito zapper..always something I need.
Jeff called, he should be here shortly, going out for eats, I’m ready for bed not going out.
No, Jennifer is just a Lead, the big boss Virginia wrote me up ONCE and I thought she would do it again but did not. I have 2 years and 2 months.... I can do this.
Not going well at home. No evening or weekend help is NOT a good thing for Ben & my relationship.
Son & wife are in town, we went to breakfast while Ben was asleep. I wish Ben enjoyed board games, cards or something.... .
Couple of longggg years though Pat when you aren’t happy with work conditions..how does Ben fill in his days? Thank goodness you have your gardening and sewing.
Karen, beautiful ornament ,looks delicate
LIndakay usually you go to the coast near your birthday, are you going this year..how long will you have to wait for results?
Sharon joked, said where is my bread Pudding? So made her a bowl, Jeff and I went over and dropped it off, Jeff did some moving boxes to downstairs for her, we no sooner got home that Greg dropped in..we watched golf, haven’t a clue what they are talking about lol
Not going to thr coast this year. The Holiday Inn we like to stay in, along with several other hotels were destroyed from the hurricane a few years ago, and they are still under repair.
I will get my results on the 27th of June.
Beautiful ornaments Karen.
Morning, brrrr turn up the heat, likely highest we will get to today is 50.
Happy Fathers Day all.. for those of us who have lost our dads or that of our children know they are in our thoughts..
I’ve a few projects I can play with until it warms up, could be my Canada day bench pillow or get pail and mop as upstairs needs a good going over....hmm wonder which I will pick.
Boys were here last night, was night..now off they go to play gold, thena stop at their dads grave.
First things first, finish my 2nd cup of coffee, get dressed and officially start day...
How will you spend your day?
My oldest son Dana & wife Carrie are in town. Dana, Kevin, & 4 more friends had their usual Dungeon & Dragon game tonight (every Sunday from 4 to 9PM). Dana got to participate LIVE rather than by computer. I cooked manicotti & French bread, raspberry mousse pie, all things Dana asked for. His Bday was the 3rd.
Gave Ben his Father's day gift of electric knife and let him know I'd ordered a portable DeWalt table saw for him. Ben's oldest daughter came for brief visit. She works 6 days a week trying to make private practice work (mental health counselor). She lives over 5 hours away.
it was a nice day, the 2nd long arm class is tomorrow! .
Morning all, suppose to be a high of 70 today and no rain till Sunday..almost seems impossible.
Didn’t want to take a sleeping pill last night as I wanted to be up and at it..girls come at 9..Was hoping that once the equipment starts working at the seniors complex and making noise I could cut grass But it’s quiet out there so best I wait.
Move went OK for Sharon, she is like her sister she’s done packed every hour since Friday with little sleep done as much as she can until she finishes the basement which will be shortly so she can unpack the rest of the boxes.
I’m sure that once she relaxes the bed it’ll hit her...Yesterday morning she called and asked if I’d go to the flower nursery just down the street from her so I drove over and went with her, She bought hangers and a few plants of course I couldn’t go without buying something good I, but seeing it was Father’s Day and she was unable to buy dad a gift she bought me the most beautiful long box of flowers didn’t even dawn on me that they were the same colour as on my patio cushions looks pretty.. didn't stay long then about 6:00 she texted me and said she did about as much as she could because she needed to lift boxspring mattresses onto the bed she put together and couldn’t manage without doing damage, I was in my nighty ready to call it a day as I had worked outside all day but decided I’d go over in my nighty. Lol
We did boxspring mattresses then she thought she might like the couches and loveseat a different way so I said well I’m here let’s do it.
She just asked if I wanted to go later this afternoon to Midland with her to pick out a washer and dryer so I’ll do that.
At one point during the night I got up to see how the old galvanized watering can I worked on yesterday looked with solar lights .. was going to throw it in the garbage but had seen on Pinterest what they had done so I worked on doing same. Looked so pretty, now I have to find a spot that the solar unit can charge, am sure somewhere in this yard I’ll be able to find a spot.
Lovely visit with my boys Saturday, Jeff and I went to Sharon‘s and he helped her move a few boxes, no sooner got home that Greg came over so that was nice. Since Roger died the boys try and get together on Father’s Day so yesterday was golfing I’m sure there was a lot of chitchat going on there.
Waited to hear if mom was coming up yesterday as I made arrangements with a friend who has a Ford flex for sale to go look at it with her, Her van is finished she shouldn’t even be driving it let alone coming up this far, anyway secretly I want to see her thoughts on it as Sharon wants to buy it for her, surprise surprise surprise. Not an easy person to please, not sure I’d be doing it.
Pat sounds like you had a nice weekend as well and that Bidon liked his gifts. That was a long drive for his daughter to come so not a wonder she didn’t stay too long if she had to go back the same day.
How about everyone else, did you have a good weekend?
Got up early to get lots done and here I am sitting so best I kick myself up off the couch and get at it.
Goodness Betty. You never stop. That garden spot is beautiful.
Keeps showing new posts but don’t see any?
Hi all - gums are starting to heal, but still can't eat with my dentures in, so leaving them out when I'm not out in public.
I've been rather sick this past week - body was angry at me I guess, for invasively taking teeth out. They Were long roots, going up into sinues...... ah well, I'm feeling better now.
Sorry to hear that Susan but try to keep them in even if it means eating purée otherwise gums heal but not to form of dentures and no matter what you do they won’t fit.
may be too late for that already, Betty - they do hurt in spots - where the gums haven't healed
I agree with Betty. I know several people that didn't listen to the dentist. They had to pay for new dentures after everything healed. Here in the states, that can be several thousand.
My biggest problem is gagging on them - feels weird on the roof of my mouth, at the back
Takes awhile for sure Susan..awful feeling but before you know it you will think they are your own..
As always enjoyed the girls, joanne dropped in with mega rhubbarb so tomorrow must make something, problem is lol
This afternoon I worked out in the gardens and in lot behind me where that swamp is the biggest piece of equipment was working,,what I didn’t realize was as of Christmas it’s under new management, they are getting rid of garbage, all the scrap trees, leaving mature trees, landscaping to make a nice water run off so I’m thrilled..behind they will park some of their heavy duty equipment but that’s ok.
Yesterday I bought a paint that says 2 in 1, primer and paint..terrible stuff, I must have given top about 5 coats and when it dries you can hardly see it but that is ok, will protect wood.
This afternoon I went to Home Depot and got wood to repair that screen church window I was given years ago and for a birdhouse, forgot to take measurement for piece of wood I can use for recovering the metal outdoor bench in secret garden..my aim is to maybe cut sleeping pill into a 1/4, I want to sleep through the night but get up around 6, feel I’m accomplishing nothing sleeping in late
Looks like it will be nice when they are done.
Looking good, Betty!
Guess what? Remember that I planted two peonies last year, in memory of our Carol? Well, one got some stems broken, so looks a little scrawny....... BUT, it has a bud on it! It's a red one, and I'll post a pic when it blooms.
Ate some cut up hot dogs for supper, and although my gums are sore, managed with the natural bottom & denture tops, to eat some. Took 1 hour for dinner though lol
wow - that's some thunderstorm - power went out 3x - right back on again, but it's weird sitting in the dark then it was 4 hours later before the power came back on.. JUST came back
Morning or is it afternoon? Yep afternoon
Hugs, not easy Susan but you are trying. Hope the bud flowers..don’t send me your storm..I should go out and set fire to the pit seeing they are calling for rain later.
Cool out there this morning so did some housework and made a birdhouse..my dad had made me one years ago, Lordy he has been dead almost 20 years, He made 2, one for him and one for me, I painted both the same, so this morning I made basically same one..been so long since I worked in woodworking room cutting that I had to think twice-3 times lol. Took mega days to paint one, won’t be doing that
Have brad nail holes filled, waiting to sand..might get it basecoated tonight.
Beautiful birdhouse Betty. Always nice memories of your Dad.
Mega pain in neck and shoulder so slept all day..should force my self to set fire to that pit as we are go8ng to get rain shortly and if I don’t shortly it will be too wet to do so for days..
Big sigh
Don't push yourself Betty. Burning can wait.
Morning, heavy dark day,few drops of rain but more to come then 3 glorious days for our Canada day Celebrations that start tomorrow.
Did go out last night and worked at burning, only got half done, just would burn, guess because all those branches I cut off were green wood so I’m thinking I’ll get one of those burning logs in hopes I can keep a fire going tomorrow night while listening to big band music that is playing at red hall behind me.
Decided to stay in my nighty, the one I use for painting...omg it’s been forever since I painted something with a bit of detail, am sure this piece will be primitive to say the least ..got her tape, now where to start
Ziggy found making a birdhouse tiring yesterday 😜
Can't wait to see your design.
Decided to do checkerboard, yikes, getting dizzy. Lol
While I wait for paint to dry I’m touching up the known Caleb and Braedon gave me almost a decade ago as Pat suggested..
Even got Canada day bench pillow cover done, love these projects you can use same insert for..think I now have about 8 of designers patterns
Cut hole in one of the gourds I have, they are almost a decade old as well..a zillion seeds, do you think they are still good? Too late to plant this year I imagine..
What else am I playing at..oh yes, had a large cup and saucer, drilled holes so waiter would drain in hope birdseed doesn’t stay wet..
Think I’m going to pass on sleeping pills, that or cut a small pill into eights, don’t like this sleeping in till 7:30 or so in the morning, I get little done and feel like I don’t want to do anything..today up early and energized.
