I love the checkerboard.
Gourd seeds should be good. They have been sealed in the gourd. Throw a few out and try them. Do you have a fence for them to grow on?
I love that pillow. So bright and cheery.
If you have a small drill bit, drill small holes in the saucer, so if it rains, it can drain.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is what I did this morning LIndakay, both in saucer and cup..raining tonight so I’ll put it on the pole tomorrow.

Pat got the gnome done, will spray him tomorrow,he is back to himself lol

Not sure if I will quite for tonight on shade and highlight the cat tails..we will see

Might be better to get up early and finish the project..need to buy outdoor finish and I need to let it cure..as well, need to finish base I haven’t cut yet, not sure if I’ll paint it black screen or if I’ll checkerboard it as well. I’m thinking of looking for a little dish that will attach to the base so that the birdies can eat before going into the house. I did find a nail that they use on the shoes for horses said in the cupboards so rather than put a dowel for the bird to land I’m going to use the metal nail, just the right size but that is after I paint a birdie on it

Will make it easier for painting the bird if the purchaser on it yet

WOW, that gnome looks brand new. Love the birdhouse too. Not for sure of rhubarb with ice cream though.

Verona, ON

I'm having stewed rhubarb with hot tea biscuits. Yum

Diesel went into the vet's Wed for a light sedation so they could trim his nails. Well the Diesel who went into the vet's is not the Diesel who came home.I am very angry and know I won't get anything out of the vet' He was heavily sedated and now after 48 hours he is just beginning to come around. I think they dropped him or pushed him down as his back legs are not working like they should.. After I dropped him off I had another vertigo attack set in so a neighbour picked him up.The vet tech was all snippy about letting Diesel go before the bill was paid. I lost it on the phone and am afraid some blue words fell out of my mouth. I have used this vet from the first week she opened in the village and have never left the office without paying the bill.

Betty I take my Rx sleeping pills when I know I am overtired and hurt like the dickens. I won't take them every night as suggested but sometimes I need a bit of help to get some good sleep.

Kieran is coming this morning to help with the garden if it is not too wet. He's on summer holidays starting today.

Oh no. Sorry to hear about Diesel not doing good. I think a few blue words would have come out of my mouth too. Praying he will be ok.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

Going to be a gorgeous weekend, 68 today and 72 tomorrow..bet the planners of Canada day celebrations here in the Harbour are breathing a sigh of relief.

Dianne, sure hope there are other vets in your region..I’d say they lost one good customer...poor Diesel, that’s enough to scare him,off going to a vet...grrr
Summer holidays already for school kids, wow where did June go..Kieran will be pleased to make $$$ this summer, does he have more clients to fill in his, week?

Just finished floors and vacuming, need to do a more to the birdhouse including painting a bird but think it will clean up and wait until outdoor work is done before finishing!!

Betty, love the bird house and gnome restorations, both look great.
Diane so sorry about Diesel, had to be very upsetting for you. I'd talk to vet personally and get to the bottom of what happened.

Not real keen on rhubarb but.. We had a company in Traverse City called Chef Pierre, the made the best pies but best of all are their apple dumplings. Sara Lee bought the company but wisely kept the Chef Pierre name on the Apple dumplings. They are sold by Gordon Foods in the freezerand come with cinnamon sauce. Bake them, add the sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream and yummmmm you are in heaven. We had them last night, what a treat.

Birthday greetings Liz, hoping you have a sunshine day and Kenny spoils you on this your special day..

Karen, you have me licking my lips lol

Liz gave me a birdhouse in a swap Lordy a decade ago, decided the one too big for the post I have for it so going to make a bench out of rough saw wood and set the birdhouse on it..

Norms garden gallery called me to let me know the two pink fleece plants I ordered are in...now where to put them as they grow so large if they are of the giant species.

Want to run into midland before I start yard work

Ohhh the boomerang lilac tree is lmost in full bloom Nd smells so nice when outside..

Guess if I decide to make a bench and fix the metal one I ought to get outsidend do some measuring

Tell me about Boomerang Lilacs, sounds interesting. They rebloom? or?

Still just sewing doll clothes here...

The electrician has finished the new electrical circuits for the a/c. Not sure when he'll be back to work on the overhead fan/light combinations.

I have lilies in bloom!! My orange ones are gone, but the white Easter lilies, the pink Orientals and Lolly Pops are in full bloom. I will try to remember to get a picture tomorrow. LATE... going to bed!

Pacifica, CA

Oh LK that is just stunning.

Diesel is much better. He is alert but ticked at me because I won't take him for a long walk. I've been limiting him to just their enclosure ...... no running. Maybe later today I will take him on a short leash walk on the lane. By nightfall he was really having trouble with his back legs so I think rest is the best for him right now.

Going into the local farmer's market for 9 am. Our cash crop farmers are crying plus no farmer can get their machinery into the fields.Going to be a lean year for them all. A friend of mine near Hamilton was telling me that 1 farmer he buys from has not seen fields this wet in over a hundred years. It is a family farm and records have been kept;

Stay safe and well.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear he is doing better.
Many farmers in the US are the same. Nothing but rice can be planted in a lot of places. And we all know prices will rise.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Happy birthday Pat.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Who are the kids in your photos?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Ben bought me a reblooming pink lilac, it's beautiful and I will have to find a spot for it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh, I bet it is beautiful.
Wish they would grow down here. Not cold enough for them.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I bought one in MI and planted it here, so far it is surviving. We'll see.

Morning !! Another stellar day out there.

I saw on FB that Norm our Barb's DH has remarried. I know Barb would be very happy for him.

I hope my get up and go gets started today. Yesterday I ran out of it by 2 pm.

Pat what a lovely present from Ben. Belated birthday greetings.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Congratulations to Norm.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning everyone, another beautiful day in my neighbourhood then comes a week of rain.

I assume by the amount of people out and about our Canada festivities were a success.

Pat, lots and lots of sunshine, I have a few in the secret darden getting no sun, want to mark them and maybe this fall can transplant if not too big.

I bought 2 fire tail mountain fleece flower..pink , grows 3-4 as tall and as wide..loves full sun to partial shade..now where to put them??

LIndakay they are suzanne’s Granddaughters. Arianna,Amelia and Audrey.they had a fun night going in secret garden, making skits then coming out and perform..

Need to go to Home Depot this morning to get a can of white paint spray and sandpaper..working on a bench this morning, wood it cut, tacked ends with glue so needs to cure so I can add support shelf, it’s for the bird house door, must finish that one before I move on the the shed project..enough projects to entertain myself!! Lol

Darlene’s sister Sue took down a railing, asked if I wanted it, white rail pieces..hmmm guess I could go get it and store, bound to useful somewhere for some peoject

Kyle is here with a Cadillac Ct6 to take grandma for a ride, not so sure I want to go for a ride in a vehicle who takes the place of a human driver

Victoria Harbour, ON

TooSophisticated for me, reclining seats with vibrators in the back as well as the front rather than a normal mirror to look behind it’s a 3-D mirror that shows you on the sides in the back, has a unit that has iContact with your eyes so that if you turn not looking in front while it’s driving it will shut off and bring it to the side of the road Lordy Lordy Lordy

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Ya Betty, I am a control freak and THAT car would send me over the deep end! LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a pretty fancy car. Too fancy for this old lady.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Kyle said it’s so boring because you just sit there you can’t be doing anything because that monitor on the dance has to be in contact with your eyes so you just sit no gas pedal no brake pedal no steering wheel boring for sure not my kind of thing either

Got that bench made with the Rough cut wood, only took 1/2 hr..I ran out of white spray paint so next 5ime I’m in town I’ll buy 3 cans, I’ll need that to finish the projects I’ve in mind.

Dropped over to a friends house early morning, they offered me some fencing, knew where it was so doubt they even knew I’d been....

Here and there I’ll collect small rocks for under bench to finish it off, I set my birdhouse in the garden, you don’t see too much of it in the greensbut that’s ok.

Have to fix that church window insert screen, comes from our church, but that is another day

Omg omg how did I miss your post Dianne saying Norm had remarried, yes Barb will be Hppy and at rest knowing her Norm is Ok... what a treasure he is, he’d be up early morning getting us coffee/donuts...that just made my day!

Doesn’t anybody rest? Ray that weeds my ditches out front just got here, says he is working 7 days a week

June dropped in to show me a tulip from her sons tulip tree

I remember before my mother even died, I decided that SOME day, after her death, that Dad might want to remarry. I was determined to support that decision. I wanted to think about it BEFORE I was faced with it.... Adult "kids" can make or strain a 2nd marriage.
I'm happy for Norm, by all accounts he is a wonderful man and he was so good to Barb.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That he was..remember doing all the sites aro7nd here, she could only walk a wee bit but he made sure she saw everything.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful garden settings Betty.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm happy to hear Norm has found love again. He is a good man and was wonderful to Barb.

Victoria Harbour, ON

On the couch again today, sky is heavy with rain but Day is almost gone amd still no rain..I should go out and put cushions away before it starts

Took the tree man out and tinkered with it here and there, he wasn’t very colourful when I got him so didn’t do a lot to him, good enough for a tree

Was complaining that the Township still wasn’t here to clean out the ditch and with all the rain coming didn’t want any kind of a flood so my neighbour took out his little backhoe and just did a bit to clean it up and let the water run which was very nice of him

Just dropping in to say hello. I just subscribed again. It's been a couple of years at least since I let my subscription lapse. In reading some old threads I recognize so many names of people that are no longer subscribers. Also, a few that have passed away. Time marches on. I just came in from pulling weeds and trimming low hanging branches..I'm beat! LOL
Finally, the weather here is nice enough to be outside. Lots of rain here and been cold and windy a lot of the time. I live in Newcastle Ontario Canada.
