Good for you Karen. I know you will spend many happy hours using the machine. Bet you can hardly wait for Thursday to get here.

Just love the colours that the houses are painted in Newfoundland. Greg's friend has a great business sense - best of both worlds. If you want to read an excellent book about the people in Nfld look for The day the World Came to Town. It is about 9/11 and all of the flights that had to land in Gander. Probably more people were stranded in Nfld than the actual population on the island. There is a stage play Come From Away that is about how the people of Nfld took all those people in and treated them like family.

Sun is trying to shine but there is still a dampness in the air. Both Diesel and I are gimping along today.

No sleep again last night. This is getting old. I am so tired but as soon as I close my eyes my mind starts whirling.

Susan you had a wonderful birthday. Where did you go out to dinner ?

LK how are you feeling now ?

My cleaning lady is here so the house will soon be spiffy and smell great. She braves that lane although today she did say the lane was very icy.She said once don't worry if I can't drive it I will walk in - it's over a mile . Only once in 5 years have I had to go and pull her out of the ditch.I don't have a hitch on my new ride but I ended up keeping my old Escape so I can haul someone out if they go off the road.

Betty it is supposed to be 11* on Thursday in TO. Do you think we out in the boonies will reach that ?

Where's Debbie?

Deb do you have any shows over the winter months?

Chaos is totally captivated by the hippo on a Telus TV ad. He runs right up to the screen and bops along to the music. On You Tube 1 of the Telus ads plays Speedy Gonsolas(sp) and Chaos prances along in time with the music.Diesel looks at Chaos as if to say are you daft?

Stay safe, well and warm/cool.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Yes, we do have shows over the winter, not quite as many within driving distance for me, but at least one weekend a month there are shows. Heading down to Louisville, KY this weekend.

I got up to freezing rain & then snowed so hard looked like snowballs falling from the sky. THEN warmed up and cleared up more than it's been in weeks! go figure... supposed to have warmer weather all week. I hope so.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Hope so, Pat!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful quilt. Dog is very pretty, but I don't think Ziggy was happy.

Lyndonville, NY

Finally caught up! Time is getting away from me.

Have been spending time with Shannon, she got hurt, and have been helping
as I can. My eyes have been bothering me, so stay off computer as I can, and
doing much better in that area.

Have had a few very cold and windy days, but no snow (which is FINE). Today is supposed to get to 50, and tomorrow 60. BUT....as usual, Friday and weekend it will drop into low 30's or upper 20s again.

Susan, Happy Birthday Week! Sounds like great celebration.

Betty be careful with all!!!

Miss you all so much
Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What happened to Shannon?

Betty, where are you today?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Glad you are doing better Debbie.

Weather was clear today & more snow melting...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, drats walkways have turned to ice, mild then freezing..very damp out there.

Miss you too Debbie, what happened the Shannon, hope not serious..can see you being mother hen big time.

I’m sitting here hand sewing binding on the quilt Melanie made, she wants to pick it up today, me,mueller let’s say I’m anxious to go play with new sewing machine..man said he had bill, wife paid $10,999.99 for it plus tax..does,everything..she passed last year, sorry to hear but now I get the beautiful machine..hard to believe all it does..sitting by the door waiting to go downstairs, hand sewing better go quickly

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Wowee Betty, how lucky can you be??? Excited for you.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Did you inherit the machine? How nice. What brand is it?

Victoria Harbour, ON

No, it was on sale..he wanted between $3,500-$3000
I told him it need the 830 decorative plate, she must have lost it, a few little th8ngs, made him an offer and he accepted.

There was mega hoop and 3 other hoops, he gave friend 3 smaller hoops to a friend for her Bernina but they don’t fit, he will try and get them back for me.

Hip is gone today so not going to take machine and embroidery until downstairs, will wait for someone to do so. Finished Mel’s quilt and now going to lay down

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

glad you got the new machine Betty, heaven knows you will get good use of it!!

I finally got my tiny little wall hanging done last night, hand hurt like crazy this morning and I did the binding by machine! I shutter at the thought of trying hand work, machine hurts bad enough. .

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I know where you are coming from Pat. I did the binding on just a baby quilt and had trouble with my hands for two days.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

It is time to get Vern to bed. I tried to garden today and got 3 pots completely rehabbed and replanted with succulents. I only have about 20 more pots to do.

Betty, SCORE, on the machine. What a delight for you.

You guys are so talented and I do not sew or bake but I can sell you your own shoes. LOL.....

I will try to get on here earlier tomorrow.

How wonderful, Betty - sounds like a real deal!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, overcast and 41 here today, rain tomorrow..I went out on front deck and swept it off, left front door open to get some light in the living room, looked out back, so temped to take down winter covering but I know better.

I’m hobbling, left hip is bad today, likely the dampness so won’t do much, had hoped to go to Barrie Nd Cookstown to fabric shops for a few things, we will see how the day goes.

Sewing machine and embroidery attachment finally made it downstairs and on the table..I’m running out of table space, want to play with it but need to organize myself first. Ordered the Bernina emblem cover that was missing, the slide on table cover with stitch lever, there went $250, if he doesn’t find the smaller hoops for it I’ll need one smaller than the giant sized one I got..Lordy the Bernina dealer said the one I have it about $450. So guess over the weekend I’ll play.

You are making headway sharron with your pots, a few a day and before you know it they will be done..do you make more pots by transplanting new growth? Love your temps.

The snow is melting quicker than I’d hope, pumps are working over time, what we don’t need it rain tomorrow. Where the snow is melting I’m seeing as many limbs on the ground as on the trees..lots and lots of spring clean up..guys didn’t manage to do the work in the fall as snow came sooner than expected.

Wow, washed the floors this morning, Ziggy has been in and out, talk about muddy footprints all over.

Lyndonville, NY

Shannon slipped on ice outside of her apartment, landed in a "W" position. She had already had knee surgery on right side, and don't you know thats the knee that got whacked the worst. Sprained ankle on that side too. Dr. said it is full of arthritis, and no more cartridge in there. She is only 28, and dealing with this for long time. Had MRI, rest, anti-inflammatory....and a cortisone shot in the knee. So hard with her working with little ones to rest it....but she is doing her best.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Deb, so sorry for Shannon, I've not had cartilidge in my knees since in my teens. Never has been an option I wanted to pursue so it's just life.

Betty, do you shop Amazon? Look there first for the hoops you need. I have different brand machine but got a full set of hoops for a good price. The ones that came with machine were covered in sticky goo. They should also be on Ebay. Bernina, as much as I love them, will charge you top dollar.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about Shannon's fall. Praying there is no damage.
Betty, I agree with Karen. Shop Ebay or Amazon first.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Might bring it back,
Played all day and having some issues, decided if it might be in best interest to bring it back, Marlene didn’t give him $$$ yet so now is the time to do it.,besides my embroidery machine do8ng the job..

Going out for afternoon with Suzanne, even supper, will think about it

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I don't understand Betty, you might take the embroidery machine back? Too many issues with it?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Sorry that you're having issues with the sewing machine - good that the $$ hasn't been paid and you can get it back.

Just got an Amber Alert for Alberta - my cell phone started "screaming" at me, and scared me 1/2 to death - an Amber Alert was issued for an 8 yo boy, abducted by his 31 yo mother, and in immenent danger - poor lad. Hope they find him. The Alert is province wide.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy I’m exhausted, where did the day go?? I know, was 6:30 when Melanie called, she was up early so wanted to come sew, got here at 7 and just left...in fact I left her sewing while I went and did groceries and return embroidery machine, disappointed but that’s ok, m8nebworks perfectly fine..figure with what I saved I can buy a new lawnmower...lolsusan that is too bad, have they found the child?

Melanie managed to make 2 pairs of lounging pants, I froggy, and took out the rag quilt fabric she bought and had started 2 years ago..we weren’t fond of the design, limited fabric but at least it will be done

I even found my sketching pad, so long since I’ve sketched, look how young Noah was inntis sketch

Beautiful sketch Betty. Amazing how fast they grow.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I do have quite a few extra succulents but I pot them up and share. I am some areas in the front i can transplant some succulents ground cover that will fill in some places to keep the dust down.

Betty, you have so many talents, it is amazing. Vern is not having a good evening. Confusion is the pits.

Oldest granddaughter's husband got his MD residency match with a hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was born and raised in Southern California and Hannah was born and raised here in Las Vegas. Weather is going to be a shocker for them but they went to Canada on a ski trip for their honeymoon and it is a highly rated ER residency.

Other grandson, Ethan, 21 has been on a church mission for the Mormons and is coming home. He will land at 5pm Tuesday night. The whole family will be here. I am taking Vern to the Airport. He loves the grandchildren.

I have no appointments this coming week so I should be able to get more pots rehabbed. I also need to get 4 tomato plants planted. But first must get the area's soil refreshed.

Bees have shown up so the citrus trees should be OK. They havn't bloomed yet, so that is a good thing.

I need to go turn down the bed and get Vern ready to go to bed.

I hope you are all well and did not have any of that horrible weather that blew through the northern part of the US.

Hugs from Las Vegas. Photos are Gopher plants. They self sow. I pulled over 10 babies today. I dug up 10 other yesterday for my daughter.

Sharon you are keeping yourself busy. Those plants are beautiful.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sharon, is the tall green ones gopher plants, or are ALL of them, just in different stages of maturity?

Made more headway on my projects yesterday, today church and then back to projects. We have 8 people coming Tuesday night and staying for a couple of days. I don't have enough beds... thank goodness 5 are kids, all over age of 5 I am told... unless that has changed since I was updated. I find men don't always share the necessary details.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy St. Patrick’s day everyone..guess tomorrow upi can take out Easter lol

Lovely plants, don’t think we have gopher plants here, will have to research wether we do or not. Vern will be excited for sure to see all arriving at the airport, big smile,.kniw exactly where it is lol..yep, Grand Rapids is mighty cold, will take a bit of
getting used to, how long will it be for?

Glad you are seeing progress Pat, getting closer to being finished..soon your son will arrive, few weeks?

Susan I’m glad amber alert is over, will look at the l8nk you sent.

Lordy been so busy I’ve skipped good mornings for good evenings these past days. ..this morning Suzanne got here at 7:10 at left at 4:18 but her top is completely done, she is pkeased for her first endeavour at quilting. Her hubby Lenny dropped in around noon, had the doctor Ho with him, tried it, not sure if it’s just my imagination but I think there is a lot less pressure 8n my neck..thinking about ordering one as he says it helps him tremendously, wondering if it helps sciatica? Any of you have one!

As I’m typing my eyes are getting heavier, been a really busy weekend, lots of early mornings. While Suzanne worked on her quilt top I made some kits for the girls to make a frog tomorrow/Tuesday, that way once they’ve done one they will be able to make more.

Linda is at hospital having test, her doc said chances of cancer in woman parts, she is so worried..Sharon has had quite a few viewings since Friday when her home went up..

Mom is thinking of coming up for the weekend so lots going on.

Well chicken pot pie baked potato and salad is calling my name then bath time..would like to put eyes on Mr.Froggie and cut out bristle board patterns before calling it a night.
