Not much going on here.... it is bitter cold.

I did venture out to the village to go to the PO and Foodland/IGA. Betty do you have a favourite soup? The Broccoli soup is my least favourite.and I would not buy it again. It sure makes getting something to eat easy.

Pat I hope your drive into work went well. Darn freezing rain you can't do anything about it when you are driving - I'll take snow any day over freezing rain.

Karen there are times when it just makes sense to have someone do your taxes. I used to volunteer to do taxes for the seniors in the area. I enjoyed it and of course I got to have tea and great treats when I went to each house. One old gal in her 90's started to take off her clothes when I came in. I was like what's going on...... she thought I was the nurse.

Debbie are you in the deep freeze too? Betty I am sure you are freezing too.

Stay safe and well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohh goodness Dianne, that would have been a sight.

Yep deep freeze here as well.

Not fond of broccoli soup so will just stick with the two I’ve eaten.

Melanie asked seeing Greg is leaving to snowmobile in Newfoundlandnfor a week would I take her,her mom and a friend to buffalo Saturday..quick run so told her yes, as long as weather cooperates..says cold but sunshine.

My travel insurance won’t up, from $190 to $259, oh well with going this weekend, Easter weekend,July roadtrip, few other times to buffalo and hopefully Florida for Christmas it will pay for itself...I remember a time when travel,8nsurance wasn’t needed, big sigh.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Is that price for the whole year?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes, covers me for 15 days each time I go over, an additional charge I’d have a to pay for days over 15. You have to answer a zillion questions related to health issues... being over 70 plays a big part.

Roads weren't bad, day warmed up to 44 today so some stuff melted off.

Got off work a little early and got my nails done. the gel polish really chipped off my thumb nail today (but hey, it's been nearly 3 weeks!)

Time for dinner and hope to get a few minutes in on a project, any project, SOMETHING besides my paid job. or not... maybe I'll just read. I'm tired.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

you're welcome Linda Kay - hope there's a wallet you can make, if you want to.

Hi - popping in before I head to bed. Been a busy 2 days, culminated by me falling on the last game of bowling tonight, in the 2nd last frame - ouch. We played 7 games today - 3 in the afternoon, and 4 at night.
Going to be a little stiff & sore tomorrow, I imagine.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, sunshine day, not as cold as yesterday but still cold.

No need for me to go to town today as I’ve enough groceries o last a few weeks other than milk etc so quiet day on the homestead.
With no shovelling it makes a big difference in my shoulder and extra time, waiting for my bedding to dry so I can make my bed, wash floors and housework done.

Got my daily lent offer done, few blouses, my mission is 1 thing a day but heck, I’ve so much I can increase article numbers..was thinking though rather than pile everything and wait for lent to be over I might drop things off to Salvation Army weekly, wouldn’t want to rethink and put some back into my drawers lol

Susan, you sure are hard on yourself..hope you are not in mega pain today, know I’d be paying for the fun had..

I've been sorting and donating. I stop almost weekly to drop off stuff. 40 in 40 might be a challenge right now!

Susan, hope you don't hurt too much today. Sorry to hear about your fall.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Nice to get rid of things we will never use or wear, hoping to make 40 days, of course adding 3-5 things a day I just might run out before 40 days.

Had several calls this morning so been chatting up a storm while machine has been doing my birdhouse block

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Don't do Lent but I've lost so much, not a lot fits anymore. Been sending lots to donate. I prefer the women's resource center. Goodwill's highly paid executives grind my gears.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm doing fine, after my fall. I am surprised, but no bruising or pain. I suppose having the jet tub bath helped. I don't feel like I even fell. Must be all the padding on me lol
When I skidded across the ball return on the floor to the other bowling lane, I thought I'd hurt myself, but I finished the last frame in the last game. For me, I think getting up & moving helped. I didn't bang my head, or do any other damage - I think it was something on the bottom of my shoe that caused it. Anyway, it's all good.
Having a snow day - siiiiiiigh, this is what we woke up to. I'm making some Whole Wheat Flax bread in the breadmaker, and will do some tidying up, too.

Darlene just called, her deceased husband Mike’s father passed away, trying to decide if she will fly home or not.

The snow here is evaporating... 2 days ago it did do some melting, too cold to melt today. I hear we are getting more Monday. I am eager for Spring, I am sick of snow, we rarely get snow and this February it has snowed and snowed and hung on.... grrr!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I think you made a typo. Darlene's deceased fil passed away?
Sure wish I could send some heat up north. 82 today, and we saw our first hummer.
Spring has sprung in Texas.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I want SPRING, please.............

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, couldn’t sleep so decided to get up and relax before we leave for our day trip to buffalo. We leave at 6, 3:30 is a tad early to have gotten up but I’m up..
Guess it will give me time to ponder on what I’d like to buy at Joann’s lol
Thanks LIndakay, fixed my post.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear Darlene lost her FIL. Sending prayers.

Have a safe trip.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

My son and grandson are in town from Spokane. There are here for the Western Mountain Conference basketball games. Christmas present for Todd and Luke from his wife and Luke's mother. Luke is 9 and a Gonzaga Bulls maniac fan. We are having a big family Sunday dinner tomorrow night here at the house. I will cook te majority of dinner in the instapot.

I got some gardening done when Vern's daughter was here. I finally planted my onions today. I pulled some rotted succulents and fluffed up the soil so it would dry out. We had rin again yesterday. More rain year-to-date than we normally have in a year.

California is having a "Super Bloom" wild flower bloom. You need to look it up to see what it entails to establish a Super Bloom.

Betty, I hope you had a wonderful trip and found some bargains. I really like your new blouses. I need some but am not able to go shopping.

March and April is the time each year I think of selling our home and moving into a condo. So much work in the garden. But once it is done, I am OK. We have two neighbors that built the same time we built. They are both putting their homes on the market and down sizing. One has a sick wife in assisted living and in a large home all by himself. He is downsizing. The neighbors next to him are building a bigger home nearer the mountains. They have 4 girls and they are getting the age, the parents feel, they need their own bedrooms. A wonderful lady up and across the street 3 houses has been moved into a retirement home because of medical problems. She is just not capable of living by herself anymore. She is younger than me. Very rich so I am sure she is in a very nice retirement home. We have been here 17 years and we are all getting to old for these large homes.

Linda, I envy your temps. We are still in the high 50s. Looks kike we will be there for the week. My son Todd, from Spokane, thinks this is wonderful weather, so I guess it depends were you are.

Dogs got a bath today and are looking at me asking where their dinner is and why am I on the computer.

Vern is doing fine. We finally got moved. Never did determine where he thought we were but knew we were coming to Vegas. One morning earlier in the week, he woke up and said, "We made it". Caregiver and I both went right along with him. Had to show him the animals so he could make sure everyone was here.

I need to get Vern and the animals dinner.

Everyone have a wonderful Sunday. Time change and we lose an hour. Vern will not like that...Hugs.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

*Hugs* to all - it's late, I don't know if the time change has happened, but I'm tired and it's church tomorrow.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Yikes,, got up at 5,realized now 6 with time change, Suzanne said she would be here to sew at 7 but we have freezing rain, she just called and said nope, won’t be till later.

So here I am up and ready with not much to do so will look for machine appliqué designs for the quilt Kyle asked me to make by Friday lol

Sharon, glad Vern made the move ok, the thought he has of it might settle him down a bit. Excited for you to have family visiting, when is the last time they’ve been? I too envy your and lindakay’s temperatures, was pleased with yesterday’s sunshine, made it to 28..

Would be more than sad for you to have to give up your gardens, glad it’s nit now and hopefully not for many a year

Kyle has come a long way, fought aspergher as many of you know, Friday he got a promotion, Fleet Manager, so heartwarming to see..Lisa also emailed me, Caleb who is in an acting program at university (all they do) lol got parts in two major plays, not sure where but not a school play..nice to hear all do8ng ok.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you for the birthday wishes 😊
Yesterday Bob got me a beautiful bouquet of flowers & a sweet card. Today he got a Black Forest cake, which we shared at the Senior Centre's coffeetime, and tonight he's taking me out for dinner 💖 It's been a lovely day. Got some birthday cards, and tomorrow we're celebrating all March birthdays at the Wellness Centre.
On Wed I'm going to a Red Hatter's "do" and as I'm the only March baby, we'l celebrate it again 🤣

3 days of BDAY celebrations, GOOD for you!! LOL

yeah, I am not much of a cold weather fan.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Love the Newfoundland photos, just beautiful! It's a beautiful province, I've been there a couple of times, but, only in the summer. I don't think I could handle the winter there!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'd love to see it too but only in the summer. Still hoping to make our trip to Germany this summer.
