Betty, I have mentioned a trip for quick visit and chinesse with you a few times.
DH doesn't think I should re: the weather. But soon as I get a clear path...Im outta here.
We have Letchworth State Park I have posted pictures of, with the big gorge. That is where I went for the huge craft show in October 2 years ago. I have not been to Hershey before either.
OK, Didn't get out today as planned, will try again tomorrow life permitting.
Sweet dreams all
Best/Worse,What did I learn today??everyone welc9me, old and new, come grab a chair near the fireplace and relax..
Betty - the quilt is mine.
Finished at the casino, volunteering, and enjoying the stay in Red Deer. Will do a bit of shopping tomorrow, then home.
Morning all,
Housework done, floors washed, turkey in oven, will vacuum as soon as coffee cup is empty then have the entire day to play.
Ohh Debbie, will have to schedule a trip to Letchworth state park for the craft show in Oct...girls always look8ng gor a trip lol. Was the craft show a large one, would be to my liking? Yep weather not the best right now for travelling, as you can tell I’ve not been stateside since early Nov. look forward this spring for you to come..must ask Joyce if she and the girls are coming in May, you could join us,always so much fun.
Glad all went well at casino Susan, have fun shopping.
Drats 2nd time Ziggy wants out, seems all I do is let him in or out.
What do you all have planned?
Electrician coming again today. Hoping to finish up DS Kevin's bedroom and then on to a few more off the list.
Looks good, Betty - yeah, you'd better be hungry. I sense leftovers :)
Goodness that turkey looks good and I am not much of a turkey eater!! Sign me up!
Omg, I’m so upset with myself especially if it means I’ve screwed up..long story, maybe grab a coffee. Lol
Back last summer you might remember me telling you the doctor gave me a prescription for PMS-Prcegablin 25 mg to be taken twice a day, after taking them for a little over a week I was almost pain free..remember I went to doctors and had him sit while I did a jig?? The meds were to help fibromyalgia and for nerve ending pain I.e. my neck..well in September and October I was hospitalized 4 times, during those time meds were switched, some not ordered, some added and SOMEWHERE along the way I stopped the pregablin, sub consciously forgot all about this med..last night while cleaning cupboards found a container with just a few pills in it..light came on, omg I haven’t been taking these since September.,when have I been in extreme body pain, since September..I wasn’t even taking Tylenol 3 after I got these meds.
Sooo got a prescription this morning, will take 2 a day as script says to do and see what happens
IF the meds work do you know how stupid I will feel to have suffered so when there was no reason to do so...
I’ll be so mad at myself
Oh no. I have done that to.
Praying they kick in soon.
Hope they will have impact, can 9nly hope.
Waiting for SUZANNE and Lenny, couldn’t eat that big turkey alone lol
Loved that pat and don dropped in, for the first time I saw Don had aged..he always looked in early 70,s, today he looks his age..perhaps he was tired.
Darn, just got comfy in bed and got a call uncle Louis died..
Contacted everyone as I alway do and my cousin Doug said it was strange that I hadn’t let him know that my step mother had died jan31..we were never advised..only a few weeks after my dad died did she stop talking to me and my siblings.,had been married to dad for over 30 years..I was the only one who I thought was k8nd and accepting of her..was hurt by that
Hope I don’t get a 3rd call
Know mom’s childhood friend is dying as well as 7ncle don, don’t need a 3rd
*Gentle Hugs* Betty - so sorry to hear of your grief.Praying for you, Uncle Louis' family, and for the hurt you are suffering about your step mom's recent passing.
Morning,
Storm has started, high winds and just now freezing rain..glad I’ve nowhere to be..will work downstairs on something.nit will be a day of reflection also..
Suzanne has been coming sundays but I don’t think she will brave the weather even though she is in next town.
Dianne, I just love my moose cup, makes 1 1/2 cup of coffee, now my favourite cup.
Imagine Debbie and Dianne are getting same weather
For all if it’s in your neighbourhood stay in, stay safe..
So sorry to hear that Betty. Sending our condolences and prayers.
The storm has started here too, Oh joy ! I'm ready ...bat tub filled, everything charged up
Glad you like the moose cup Betty. I loved it !
I might just go back o bed and read.
Stay safe, warm/cool
I am sorry for your losses Betty. Never easy to lose loved ones. To not find out until much later is especially painful.
Your book bags are simply adorable.
Karen, with a little bit of imagination you would have your own Lock Ness monster! Look at the photo without enlarging it if you don't see what I mean.
Our storm started and we are staying home from church, several new inches of snow and not safe for Ben to try to get to the car. He doesn't know that yet... he's still asleep (10AM here).
Kev got himself moved to the old guest room and the guest room bed is leaning against the sewing room "wall", hope to get all that complete today. There will only be enough room on each side of king sized guest bed to put in small night stands on each side. SLOW progress.. thank goodness for Kevin, my wrists are just too weak to be of much help. When you have been strong as an Ox your whole life, being weak is a real surprise (and hard to adjust to).
Wind picking up here as well, front deck furniture being blown around..
Suzanne just left, trying to see if I should lay down or go back downstairs and play lol
Thanks for your condolences..both lived to a good age but still hard to lose them.
Glad your son is there to help Pat, if you put in another day tomorrow you should be near done right?
Showed Karen’s photo to suzanne, she immediately asked what was in the water..great photo.
Snow hasn’t started here yet, hop8ng it bypasses is.
Dianne, Suzanne and I had the potato soup, it’s something I’ll buy again for sure as will SUZANNE, here is hoping they get the Tucson tomato so I can try it.
Day has quickly gone by..felt cold, here I put furnace down to 70 and forgot to put it up this morning when I got up.
Glad you enjoyed the potato soup Betty. I tried the Broccoli soup but wasn't too keen about it. I usually get 3 meals out of the tub if I add a roll to dip into it.
Well the freezing rain stopped around 1 and it is mild out not bitter cold as forecasted. So that means the lane will be glare ice. TH are happy romping in their yard because I won't even venture down the outside steps.
It’s working it’s way into something Dianne but like you say very icy, keep watch8ng for snow but hasn’t arrived yet.
Next time I’m in foodland I’ll ok to see for other soups by same maker.
Time for turkey dinner, likely I will be saying that all week lol
With a whole turkey, you will be saying that FOREVER!! LOL
I am laying low mostly today. Plenty to do and I should be doing it!
“rest” tomorrow is another day!
I forgot to take that large stained glass window down and that corner is getting brunt of the wind, damaged, glass on the floor and settee so I’ll have a project to do big sigh. If that is all that happens in this wind oh well.
I'm back working on my queen quilt. At this rate I may finish in a week. 🤞😊
We are warming up here. I have an extra caregiver coming Wednesday and Thursday so I can do some gardening.
My big branches that were downed by the heavy wet snow have been cleared and hauled off by a tree company. Not looking forward to that bill.
Vern is the same. Just gets confused at night. But still eating really good.
Betty so sorry for your loses. I have a beautiful cooper chime that came down with the high winds and snow. I will get it back up on Wednesday.
Diane, stay inside and stay warm. I bet you are looking anxiously toward spring.
Pat, I had water damage and had workers in my home for months. I am sure you are ready for everything to be done and the workers gone.
First photo is butternut squash and granny green apples. I sauteed this in orange juice and added some stevia. It was delicious but I like mine better when I added some salt. Second photo is our projected weather for the week.
Give yourself a big hug and stay warm. Sharon
So windy out today, when it was feeling chilly in the house I was thinking it was just the drafty windows. NOT! I felt the radiators, and they're cold. I've got some electric radiator heaters plugged in, technician from the company that installed my boiler will be here in the morning. Of course, the temp is supposed to get down in the single digits tonight!
I hope your electric radiator heaters can keep you warm enough.
Morning all, been up since 3am, storm is raging, can’t see an inch out there, school closures for sure.going to shovel shortly to get rid of what fell last night but wind likely to blow it back..keep,saying soon we,will be in last month of winter so we’ve almost braved it.
Dianne/Debbie hope no major damage for you both.
Deb, isn’t it always the way, heating system goes out when you most need it..praying hydro did not go off and heaters kept you warm and cozy.
Nice temps Sharon, will make it easier to get out and do clean up...know,those wind chimes are special to you, hope they aren’t damaged. Mouth watering, would never have thought about apple/squash sautéed.
Another coffeemthen, will get dressed for elements and do my best shovelling before andres comes for the drive..must remember there is ice under that snow
Just starting to see a bit of daylight, wind has died down, hope it’s moved on..I was out shovelling at 4 am, sure the wind has drifted some back where I shovelled, but wouldn’t be much
Actually what I thought would be slippery wasn’t, mild temps left slush under snow, a tad heavy.
Going for another coffee then finish the embroidery that is on the machine so if by chance the girls do come the embroidery machine will free for use.
Might even get the curling iron out and make myself presentable..the man from plumbing company and roger t.v. For new ignite system are suppose to come today, we will see.
Good morning. It is very windy and snowing here.
It;s the type of day you just want to lay around, read and listen to music. The TH are up for that. The wind sounds like a freight day zooming around the house so the noise really scares them.Chaos has retreated to his crate.
Last night 2 of the outside large chairs blew away. I thought Kieran had weighted them down. My fault I didn't check them to make sure. So there I was out in a Tshirt, no flash light trying to grab the chairs. The wind was so strong I had to let go of the 1 chair I had managed to wrangle to grab onto a post for the stairs. I have never felt wind that strong before. Finally got the chairs inside - it was quite the journey.
Sharon the squash with green apple slices looks .delicious. I'm going to try it..
Susan I laughed at my self .....I thought I read you were working on a queen bee quilt. lol
LK how are you feeling ?
Karen did you get rain or snow ?
Oh Betty that is too bad about your SG piece. Is it an easy fix?
Sharon your crazy weather must play havoc with your gardens.
There is a banana calling my name.
Stay safe and warm/cool.
Waiting for the HVAC guy to call. It's down to 48 degrees in the house this morning. 6 degrees outside. He should be calling soon. He said the office opens at 8am, so 5 more minutes. Dogs don't seem to mind!
Hope he makes it Deb and it’s an easy fix.
Dianne, with that wind they could do mega damage blowing around, glad you got them secure,
As for the window not an easy fix, we will see..if not I’ll make another.
Went back out at 8 and did the walkways, wasn’t too much as I’d done it at 4am. Girls definitely aren’t coming today, sure hope plumbing and tv guys do
Dianne, I am doing really good. I go to San Antonio tomorrow for my follow ups. What little bruising I had is gone, belly button is itching, so I guess it is healing. No more tummy pains.
Linda, pain being gone is the best part of gallbladder surgery. I didn't have stones, they said mine was just not working anymore and causing pain.
Betty do be careful. We got mega rain and flooding but I read in MI was horrid. High winds and much snow. Most roads were closed and DOTs were telling people don't come out as they had to quit trying to keep roads open. A friend posted a photo of her yard and snow was almost up to the bird feeder. As flooded as we are here, much better than snow. Schools are closed.
It's said the storm was headed your way so please do be careful, stay in and enjoy your turkey. High winds are the worst of it.
Light snow, hoping it won’t amount to much, don’t sent it my way Karen...
Great news LIndakay, even with the scare end result no pain.
We just got more snow, none of the storms you ladies all got. Son is LOVING my CRV AWD, borrows it when he can't get his Taurus out. I hope by next winter he will have bought a good AWD or 4x4.
Ben is going crazy confined to the house. Caregiver said he would be trying to come, we'll see.
I have both rooms (new guest room and the little bedroom with single bed) "done" all but the "finishing touches" like head boards and art hung. It's coming along and I am pleased with it. I need to make a wall hanging to cover up the HUGE electrical panel that is the first thing you see in the guest room. I want to make custom bed skirts for both.
Betty I hope you are not going out. The 400 near Barrie is closed in both directions. Multi car/truck pile up.
No Dianne, storm started up again and I’ve plenty to eat and do so just relaxing, that being said was out shovelling so early that my eyes are getting tired. Hope my kids aren’t 8n it, they were stuck in Washington DC airport, flights delayed from their cruise..if they made it in this morning they would be travell8ng 400 right where you say the accident is..fret now as I’ve had 2 death and they come 8n 3
Uncle Louis will have viewing Friday and funeral sat at 1..one daughter lives in a little town just outside Kingston where you are and need to drive up so they are hoping by weeks end they will be able to travel.
Pat your place is starting to sound so inviting..can’t wait for photo’s
Deb did your guy come?
The plumber didn’t come, tigers is slated between noon and 2 so he still has time
Can’t blame them if they don’t come though.
