After making muffins to save myself a trip to foodland I get a call from Pete’s fix it, after many hours my snowblower has been revamped..have $100 on me but need $180 soooo need bank machine
Best/Worse,What did I learn today??everyone welc9me, old and new, come grab a chair near the fireplace and relax..
Write him a check.
Thanks for the new thread.
I never use cheques, only cash or e-transfer. Have you ever done e-transfers Betty?
Yes, always e transfer but just I’d give him cash..he started it, set it under the veranda which is closed in, he thought I’d use it but body said no
Betty..re the snow blower, can you plug it in prior to starting it and then just turn the key and off you go (minus the plug in of course, ours works like that, so much easier than a pull start.
Fingers crossed, Lorna has had GOOD luck with her prosthetic. She is curling (from her wchair), and, is set to do sledge hockey soon ..the young woman prosthetist had a baby in Aug/18 and is off til July/19 .. hopefully she'll not have to deal with Kerry this winter !!
Today when she was out plowing her prosthesis froze up, her knee wouldn't bend so I went out and became her crutch LoL
Will attempt to post a pic of Anna .. I see her very little as not so DDinlaw is a HUGE fly in the family ointment.
We got about a foot and a half of snow, lawsie, what a mess !!! BUT, it'll melt, someday, only to be replaced with weeds !!!

Great article about Inuk, Betty! Such a great accomplishment.
Saw her on FB, what a Cutie Patootie. Sorry you don't get to see her often, Terrible when children are kept away from us. They are NOT pawns and every child deserves all the love it can be given.
awwww she's adorable!
Hope Lorna's prosthesis works well until after the lady gets back from Matt Leave. You're a wonderful friend!
She is beautiful M.
Please keep my Uncle Ray and Uncle Jack in your prayers. Ray had a heart attack a few days ago. They did surgery and put a stint, but he is not responding. He is my Dads side of the family. Uncle Jack is my Mom's side, he had a stoke early this morning. Doctors are still doing testing. He can't talk or swallow.
My brother Jim is still struggling. He still can't talk or swallow. He is still on a feeding tube.
Thanks so much.
Your Uncles Ray & Jack are in my thoughts & prayers. Hope they both pull through.
LindaK, a lot of stress all at once for sure, you & family are in my prayers.
Cold here but nothing like you guys.
Betty that was a very nice article on Sharon and her dog. Great background piece.
Linda, I thought you were having surgery today. Prayers for your family members.
Marilyn, saw your grand baby on Facebook. Such a doll. Thanks for sharing.
Karen, are you all done moving in? It is such a big job that takes forever to get done.
Betty is there anywhere in Canada that is warm. My whole family is talking about leaving. Everyone down here has gone nuts. But we have been raised in warm, very warm, areas.
I hurt my back again. It seems it is something I am doing when I am sitting. I did it again tonight while sitting on a stool in the kitchen and stood up and turned around to turn Vern's fried chicken and Bingo, pain. Right around the area of the hip. Skin and muscle is also sensitive. All three times it has happened I have been sitting and had the pain when getting up. Pain in one spot, nothing traveling down the leg.
My cousins called and they live in the Portland, Oregon area. They are expecting 2 feet of snow over the weekend. They normally do not get snow. They are in their late 80s and are stocking up on groceries.
Vern is ready for bed. Talk at you all soon.
Sorry to hear about your back. Please get it checked out. Sounds like a pinched nerve.
My surgery is next Friday. The 15th.
Morning everyone, it’s a winter wonderland out there, cold temps..
LIndakay prayers for all your uncles..Friday is d day for you, getting nervous?
“m” she is just too adorable, sweetie for sure..here is hoping you get to spend more time with her...yikes, things like prosthesis freezing never ever came across some of the things that could happen when having one..Lorna sure is a trooper.
Sharon, hope you wake up to a painless back this morning..hmm I would think vancour area would be the warmest, but not like you are used to..Braedon my grandson goes to university in Vancouver and says he wears heavy sweaters on the worse of their bad winter days.nooe Canada not likely where they would want to move to but the rest of the year many of our areas are breathtaking.
Should go out and see if I can remember what Pete told me how to start the blower..Andrew has been and it’s clear right now but understand blizzard conditions could still be in the forecast.
Not nervous at all. Looking forward to getting gallbladder removed.
All moved in Sharon but still waiting on sewing room set up. Told hubby & grandson, I think they can finish Payton's room this weekend. Downstairs bath is finally finished, it's very nice but was a comedy of errors. Took twice the time it should have between them getting wrong parts and installing right parts the wrong way. Contractor was having a bad health spell and it seemed if he wasn't there the rest of the crew had their heads up where the sun don't shine. If they get Payton's room done, sewing room should get done next week. Not holding my breath.
My fault for getting that Go-cart. All they want to do is play with it. I'm locking it up until my stuff is done.
Piece of cake LindaK, you'll be grateful it's over!!
We got a significant amount of more snow, it's gorgeous out there! COLD. I'm grateful for auxicillary heat source. Heat pumps don't cut it in this weather.
I lived in Portland OR for 5 years, we occasionally got a little snow but usually bad ice storms that would take down power lines and causes huge power outages. In my mind it was never IF you were going to lose power but for how long. The longest we were without power was a week. I cooked outside on patio, a good freezer will keep your stuff frozen a long time if you don't open it. I never missed a day of work but my boss did. Her garage door was frozen shut LOL!
Son & wife got in safely yesterday ahead of the storm. I found out why it was so important for them to come (it didn't make sense to me to drive here with BAD weather coming, that mt pass is treacherous). ALL of her siblings were meeting in Tri-Cities. It has been well over 5 years since that happened. She has been totally estranged from one sister for over 5 years and hasn't seen her MA brother in more years due to distance. I have not talked to her this morning to see how it went. ONLY the siblings were getting together last night (not spouses, kids etc). She's still sleeping (it's not even 7AM here yet)
You are in my heart, thoughts and prayers. Hope all of you are enjoying your current circumstances (or finding some joy where you can), whatever your circumstances are.
Vern didn't want to eat dinner tonight because he had already eaten. I convinced him he had no eaten but then he did not eat much. He will be hungry in the morning.
My back was great this morning and I think I do something when I am putting Vern's shoes on. Then last night he did not get from the chair to the bed. Ended up on the floor. One of the guards from the front gate came down and helped me move him into bed. I think he din't make it to the bed because I was worried I would hurt my back. My daughter called this morning to inquire about my back and I told her what happened last night. So she and her husband are coming over every night at 10:10 to help me move him from his living room chair, into the wheelchair and then into bed. I can take it from there. They said, they do not want to discuss it. Hospice has no one that works that late and my other care company has no one that will only work for 1 hour per evening. Hospice said patients are usually already in bed so they are not accustomed to that particular problem.
We are suppose to warm up in about 6 days. High wind tomorrow so I will just stay inside. You guys take care of yourself and the Sierra Mountains got 3 ft of snow on top of their already 10 ft. Seattle is like Vegas. They got 8" of snow and it shut the town down.
I need to clean up the kitchen before bed time. Hugs to you all. Sharon
Morning all, snowing, see weather watch for freezing rain coming through..watched the weather, see that Michigan is getting worse of it,at least that area is equipped to handle mega snow falls..just showed a truck covered right to the top of the roof, fool went around barriers clasping that particular area.,shaking my head..they don’t do warnings, barriers for the fun of it.
Sharon, what a fright, thank goodness the man at the gate come to give you a hand..you are right, can’t be lifting with your bad back or you will need caregivers for both of you. Take your daughter and son-in-laws help, they are right, it’s needed right now...look at all those meals they did for you when it was needed, you are bleepssed having them so close..what a carring couple.
Sorry Pat you didn’t get to the van, did you get all you hoped to get done f8nished, maybe son and his wife helped, always nice having extra hands
I’ve been outside, did walkways and pathway to back shed, next time one of the boys come there are 3 totes that need to go back there..got a load of laundry done and hung up, floors washed, floor cleaner I used the other day left nothing but streaks so I made up hot water, vinegar and dawn soap, anyone have a better mixture? Finishing a coffee then will head downstairs but not before I rub Voltaire’s and my hands, they feel twice the size, hard to bend...grrr like to tell you what I think of getting older lol
Suzanne tries to come Sunday’s for sewing but with flood this week I doubt she will..I’ll wait till nine and give her a call then know how to plan my day.
Messaged SHARON to see if she made it to Nyc yesterday ? Not sure what her driving goal was..
Enough about me, what are you all up to today?
Ziggy crying to go out, best let him out..it’s in, out,in out all day

Ok, need advice
Suzanne called to say she was coming, so I put something on for lunch, had recycle items to put in recycle bin on back deck..I had let Ziggy out and he was sitting on ottoman like he always does, I turned to get a few bottles of water that were frozen so they can melt and I use for iron fill up, turn around he Ziggy comes at me
How can I get him out of that
Smack him with a fly swatter then put him in a cat carrier. When we had cats when I was little, they were always outside cats on the farm. I have never had an inside cat.
Make sure you clean it good.
I use lysol lemon scent to clean my floors. I have a linoleum tile floor. I don't know what to use on wood.
Oh No! Betty for you and sister Sharon both. How scary for her and you. Be sure to clean your scratches well, cat claws harbor bad germs. Keep an eye for infection.
Sharon hoping you can find a care help solution before you wreck your own health.

Betty, so glad to hear Inuk was not harmed seriously. That must have been so scary for both of them.
Need to buy a scatter, not likely available until spring but I’ll find something..lol
Have on my list of todo’s tomorrow to call vets to make appointment to have ziggy’s nails cut.
Yes, Sharon won’t know until he is washed and groomed if enough of a chunk was taken from his coat to make a difference in appearance that the judges would notice, if so could be part of losing best of breed..an sure she would rather loose for any other reason vs something lin attack by another dog because of stupidity.
I would have called the police.
He competes a5 1:30 tmr, sure hope once he is washed and fluffed up there will be no signs of damage..likely inuk would be agitate$ as well.
had a nice visit with Greg, he was home 1 1/2 weeks with cold/flu, finally better but not 100%, will try work tomorrow.
Sending good luck to Sharon. Is the dog show in New York?
Betty, I would be consulting a cat behavioral specialist to see what is going on AND trimming his nails, putting plastic tips glued on as well.
The owner of the pitbull cross had NO idea just how expensive his foolishness could have been!! I will never understand uncontrolled pets. That's what leashes are for!! I had a neighbor's dog threaten me and they couldn't call it back. Scared me to death and I explained to them if I EVER saw that dog out again I was calling the police!
Got the computer/single bedroom painted, its drying now. Will put a wood conditioner on the hard wood floor and I HOPE I can get the new hardware up for the new curtains.... All the room's furniture is sitting in my living room and I have not yet decided on the new configuration. Earlier, we took the big roll top desk out (storing it in the barn for now, Ben's daughter Rebecca says she'll take it) and are putting in a twin bed.
Son's friend, Bryce, and I put the new mattress up on Kevin's bed to let it "breathe" and when I cut the last of the plastic off it "sprunged" so hard it would have knocked me to the ground if Bryce had not caught the mattress LOL Not good, I had sharp scissors in my hand, could have been a very bad deal!
DDIL's brother is spending the night here, I won't get the whole bedroom/former office computer put back together but enough he can sleep in there. Son, DDIL & her brother are going to head back to Seattle in the morning. We have LOTS and LOTS of snow and are expecting more tonight. Had roads closed, lots of businesses closed and white out conditions in some areas. Kevin shoveled for hours to clear a walk to my car and behind it.
I got a little "shelf" made to put Ben's cookbooks on, so he can slide his laptop under. I used scrap wood as my table saw was giving me fits. I think the saw is unhappy about the blade being cranked up or down in the cold. I am trying to get Ben moved completely OUT of the former office/new bedroom so needed to find good place for his laptop.
OK, back to work for me, break over. LOTS more work to do, thank goodness I am not cooking dinner tonight!!
You just exhausted me Pat, holly what ever will you do when all the reno’s Are completed, I know sew up a storm right?
Bad storm moving in tonight, don’t mind the snow as much as the freezing rain they are predicting..maybe I’ll take inventory when girls leave today of things I need over next few days then I’ll not worry if I’m housebound a few days.
Hoping weather cooperates by weekend as I’m suppose to take my mom and aunt Muriel to buffalo.
Greg dropped in for a visit last night, I gave him the Pauze pillow, no sooner did he get home that did Melanie call to say how much she loved it.
Girls don’t get here til 9 so I’ve time to do more tracing, maybe June and I had better have picked a different Applique quilt..
Good luck to Sharon and Inuk! I'll be watching for results.
Showed my girls in Indianapolis over the weekend, shows there ran Thurs thru Sun. Got some nice wins and more points toward Teagan's Grand Champion title. Roads were bad coming home last night, worse south, it got better as I got closer to home, but I'm still exhausted from the drive.
Congratulations to Sharon and Inuk on his Best of Breed win!! What a record!! Something to be proud of as a breeder and owner.
Talked to mom LIndakay and she isn’t feeling the best so unless things change we will forgo buffalo.
That is the problem Deb about travelling to dog shows in the winter time, never know what weather will be like, often very stressful. So pleased that teagans that much closer to grand champion.
Inuk won best of breed again, Sharon is pleased..
Only ever won best of group once so she is hoping to maybe do so again tonight.
Inuk has the look of a "puppy" not adult dog, let along his true age. What an incredible win record. If you don't mind me asking, what is his breeding fee? I am assuming dogs are done with semen collection much like cattle now, where you buy a 'straw" of semen. He is such a beautiful dog and I'm glad the earlier attack didn't ruin his showing.
I did get the hardware up and curtains in the bedroom, hope to get more house work done today. My company is gone & I have beds to strip/wash/remake. Ben's caregiver is stuck on the OR coast due to weather.
They are calling for freezing rain here tomorrow and more snow today. I had to take my son into town with my AWD Honda and get groceries for his client. Kevin's sedan would never had handled the parking lot snow. My Honda was scraping snow on the under carriage in places.
Be safe, stay warm and enjoy being home where you can SEE the snow and not have to be IN it! I'm feeling so domestic I might even make sugar cookies!
Congratulations Sharon. I know you are proud of Inuk. Good luck tonight.
Congratulations Deb on your dogs.
