It is dull and dreary here. This morning the sun was out for 30 min.
I'm with LK and Karen about not going out to shop today .Actually I don't like to shop anytime.
Karen I chuckled when I read you were at your ex DIL's. for dinner. The gal my DB was married to first was a great gal. I always say she IS my DSIL that it was my DB who divorced her not me.
The lane is already treacherous. I knew that was going to happen. There are iced ruts on Long Cedar Run. Starting out early for this to be going on.
Stay safe and well.
I use bags too. So much easier.
Got lazy, no town for me. Spent afternoon on the couch..
Joanne dropped in with a dozen home baked cookies..had a lovely visit..she had been out to buy a cruicut air on Black Friday sale, that and boots...Dianne she bought boots on sale at marks work warehouse for $118, apparently they are made of a new rubber for soul, grabs snow and ice, less chance of falling..think I’ll go look tomorrow, if you need new boots might be worth checking it out.
Dianne, are they calling for mild temps and rain in your area tomorrow as well?
LIndakay, likely more exoensive but so much easier..guess if we folded our bags after use we could get 2 years out of them.
Maybe a doz cookies would fill me up lol
No bread or I’d have grilled cheese, guess I’ll look what I can find that is easy, would love hamburger but staying away from ordering next door, am hankering for one though.

Wow truck unloaded in just 3 hours. Took 3 days to load it. Now to figure out where to put it all. Nighty nite....tired.
Yep, my son helped me with a thing or two online. I hate crowds.
We just got back from Ben's brothers Tday and tomorrow is mine at Sis's. Goble until ya Woble.
Morning everyone, seems so much brighter out there than it has been, cold though brrr
Karen at least now you can take your time to find the right home for each item you kept that was special to you..don’t overdo
Pat, nice that you aren’t hosting, gives you a chance to rest a tad
Heading into town, quick trip in and back as Oatpicked up some plaid fleece that I want to make gnome heads out of..I try to make something for the Christmas table each person can keep, thought that might be a good piece. With the fleece and my having the fur for the beard I’m hoping I can find red Pom poms for the noses lol
Betty, I have seen those made on YouTube. Some go to the dollar store and get soft socks. They are really cute.
Oh Pat you made me laugh right out loud. I have never heart the expression "gobble till y'a wobble" You hit the right spot because I am still chuckling. I made the TH listen to it a few times; Happy to hear you are getting out to family meals. Is your family like my mom's Welsh family - if you didn't bring a dish for the meal you had to clean up. I caught on to this having my cousins and I to clean up. The next year I made an angel food cake with jello dribbled through it.
Wood stove is back up and running. When I have these vertigo episodes I let the fire go out. There is no way I will be around the woodstove then.
No energy today and it is bitter cold outside so I had best read today. Don't y'all think that's a good idea? The TH agree.
Woo hoo Karen. I wish you many, many days/nights of happiness in your new home.
No, my family everybody brings something and there are some family members more inclined towards clean up than others. I am so involved in the set up and cooking that I don't feel bad about letting my DSIL do most of the clean up.
Ben has finally conceded that he needs something besides his old Jeep J-10 pickup. a week ago he nearly could not get into it even with help. It had been long day with eye exam and tooth extraction and he just couldn't get into truck.
Ben's daughter has been trying for several years to give us her Avalon and he finally agreed. We transfer the title today. Ben will have something he can get in and out of when the truck's too much. It has roomy trunk so I can get the wheelchair in & out without too much difficulty.
Off I go, LOTS to get done before going to Sis's and there....
The Avalon will be much easier for him to travel.
Really is a good idea Dianne not using the wood stove , imagine falling on it,
d a n g e r o u s for sure. Good day for reading, is bitter cold out, even Ziggy has decided to spend more time inside.
Pat, don’t think I ever heard of that type of vehicle, glad you won out, especially if it’s easier for Ben to maneuver. Enjoy your feast.you have me hungry for turkey.might hVe to buy a small one and cook just for ME
Poor kids standing along the Santa Claus Parade route at 1pm..milder tomorrow, Waubaushene parade at 1, but they are calling for rain so kids can’t win.
Between Black Friday weekend and parades, town was just a buzzing so got what I had to get done and headed home.
Ended up seeing SUZANNE and Lenny in Walmart so we sat in MapcDonalds and had breakfast.
Pat just dropped in with my fleece, working on a few painted projects, will clean up then I will try one, shouldn’t be too complicated...I’ll check out the link and see if I can get pointers.
I also have 3 wine glasses and canvas glued to top wait8ng to be decorated,Lordy lots to do.
Hungry to off to make kraft dinner, every once 8n awhile I get a hankering for it.
Ohhh look what I have to resort to
Betty this sounds like a real cop out but Foodland in the Deli section has mashed potatoes and all you have to do is heat it up. It makes me 4 meals with no muss.Taste good too. In that same section they have ready made soups that give me 3 meals. The last one I had was Loaded Potato - it too was delicious and quick to heat up.
I can remember a time when even thinking of something premade would horrify me.
Dull and dreary here with a forecast of rain/snow depending on the temp.
How's the unpacking going Karen ?
Ours Dianne has cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers, sausage/onions, peroggies, chicken, fries, homemade soups and much more..really reasonable..not worth cooking is it..yummy, made on site.
Same here, light rain, every once in a while I go downstairs and do something..just put crackle medium on the 4 candle blocks, hoe they turn out is often dependant of weather, damp todaupy so likely won’t crackle properly.
Just made myself comfy on couch, bad thing. Big sigh
Feel like I'm spinning my wheels trying to unpack and
put up decorations too. I told DGD that we'll shop after Christmas for decorations for next year. Found a great deal on a new dishwasher and the guys installed it today. The old one worked but was very old and a new one at half price was too good to pass up. I'm sure it'll do a better job and be much quieter.
One day at a time Karen.
We are making the move in today. We will sleep at the new house tonight.
Looks like you had fun. I bet they kept you busy.
They were so excited
Rather than buy them a present I do a craft day with them..make memories..that being said I’m almost done 3rd poncho..just need buttons..must get into town and buy more wool for 3rd one
Yes, Ziggy needs to stay indoors, rather than track snowy paws through Santa's Workshop!
I was trying on dresses for our Red Hatter's Christmas dinner on Dec 5th. Wow time's flying! Got my haircut today, so should look fine for the dinner. I wanted my hairdresser (neighbour of ours) to wash & set my hair, but she's going to work 2 hours north of here and won't be back until day after the dinner, so no can do.
I even thought of putting my hair up in pin curlers (remember those days?) but have never done it myself. Also have a dinner coming up at our Senior's Centre on the 2nd. Want to look pretty! Got the dress & new haircut, so may stay with that, and forget getting it "done". It's so expensive nowadays, and I can't get a perm - with all my cowlicks, it either doesn't "take" there, or if they re-do it it fries my hair. No matter How gentle they say it is for the re-do, it shatters my hair. As we get older it gets thinner anyway - last thing I need is Less Hair 😉
you all sound so busy and happy. I'm pulling "niece duty". My aunt collapsed and cut open leg Saturday and we are taking turns staying with her. Headed back now for next "shift". I am hoping my brother relieves me tomorrow morning at 8AM. I will be spending the day calling Adult Family Homes to find better care for our Aunt. Where is living is Assisted Living and not enough supervision/care.
Sending prayers for your Aunt.
Morn8ng all,
32f , was out cutting pine and cedar for a few front deck planters and came in wet as it’s a mixture of snow and rain.
Par, so hope you get relief from your brother and can find more suitable accommodations to her needs.
Susan, nothing worse that trying something new for a due, if hair doesn’t turn out as you want the evening out is a disappointment..
Got lettering done on candle holders, today I’ve got to put satin finish on them and try to finish a few more things for sale..whose bright idea was it to try a craft sale here lol
We had our first sizeable snow for the season. They had been predicting up to 1ft of snow, but as of this morning only 3" the weatherman is saying. But, it's really wet and heavy. It took me 45 minutes to get the driveway shovelled, I called in to work, just to check, since the roads hadn't been plowed lately. I was expecting either the usual message saying to leave a message or call during work hours, but someone answered the phone and said, yes, we were open. Drove 45 minutes, a usual 20 minute drive, a couple of roads were closed because of accidents, but I made it, only to be greeted in the parking lot by one of the shop supervisors. The power was out, and they sent everyone home! Took me another 45 minutes to get home, a small chip in my windshield ended up cracking when I went over some train tracks. Guess I shouldn't have put off getting that fixed! Dogs are enjoying the snow, and as long as I can stay inside, it's really pretty!
Oh no. All that work, just to be sent home. They could have called your cell phone to let you know.
Lordy that wasn’t a good start to your morning, best stay inside..
Look at those dogs, aren’t they gorgeous...so different in Color..any more shows?
Wow they stand so majestically..

I think we ended up with almost 8" of snow. The pups love it!
One more weekend of shows, Dec 8th and 9th, but they're close to home. My girls are the only girls entered, so we should get a GrCh point for Teagan, and a point for either Charlotte or her sister Talent, that a good friend of mine owns.
Those afghans are beautiful dogs! Yeah, let them play in the snow while you stay inside lol
Prayers for your Aunt. Hope you can find somewhere suitable for her to live.
Finished another prayer shawl for the church, now to work on a quilted lap quilt for a friend in the City. Then I can work on my queen quilt (lone star/burgundy)
As for my hair, friend suggested a curling iron - DUH! Why didn't I think of that? I can do it, easily. I have one.........
Susan, you can also get a nice style with a round brush and blow dryer.
My hair is SO poker straight that it wouldn't hold, and I can't get a perm. I've had perms, and with my cowlicks all over my head, I got back for a re-do and then it's fried. Anyway, my cut's cute (in my opinion lol), so I have something to work with!
Morning all, mega snow here, great snowman weather! Wet, almost freezing rain at times..told Suzanne I’m taking a cab to hospital, roads too bad for her to drive me then come and get me..likely around lunch when I’m ready to be picked up they will have done more cleaning..Andrew came and plowed, now a 2’ bank prevents driving out..likely at some point he will come back to clean.
Be careful on those roads.
Be careful going out, Betty.
Power is still out at work, so another free day! I had to drive there to find out, but it was nice to turn around and head back home! The electric company's outage map says no power until noon on Thurs, but the factory supervisor said he was told possibly by the end of the day today power will be up.
I feel bad for my neighbors. The houses on 3 sides of me have no power, yet. Outage map says noon tomorrow for them. One neighbor has a generator going, but haven't seen signs of anyone. I'm just thankful I'm on a different grid than my neighbors. I can't really pack up 8 dogs and head to a motel! Just hoping water pipes don't freeze for anyone here with no power.
Got to hospital early due to weather, few cancellations so I got in early..already home none the less for wear..just going to have toast and hit chocolate. Didn’t tell me much except they did a biopsy and into see doc in 3 weeks.
Funny you should mention power outage as they are shutting power down between 11-2 on Sunday..I just called Greg and Jeff making sure one would be here to get generator going so I don’t end up with a flood.
Bet Deb you are hoping for that extra day. Hope no line freezing as that can be costly.
