Glad to hear it went well. I hate the waiting part.

Verona, ON

Oh Deb your crew is stunning !!! Good luck at the show.

If it freezes tonight the road will be a skating rink. I went into the village and got everything I needed so I am in until Fri. I have eye lab testing in Ktown. My borrowed son will drive me in as I can't drive after the labs.

We didn't get the snow like Betty or Deb. It was wet snow. The roads will be a skating rink if the temp goes down as expected.

Glad to hear everything went well, Betty. Got a text earlier that the power is back on at work, and my neighbor's generator is quiet, so I hope that means power is back on. I still haven't seen anyone!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad the test went well, Betty. I, too, hate waiting!
We got a new computer at the Library - nice to work on! Win 10, so no one but me is familiar enough with it to work on it. Guess some hands on training is in my future lol
Went to Crafting today & sewed on the label for the latest Prayer Shawl for church.
Now, to get back working on Larry's lawn chair cushions.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We just have rain, not the really nasty weather like you are getting.

Paula flew out this morning. These last couple of days were not what we wanted, I was really looking forward to my time off & Paula time. Instead I got to spend all my time with Aunt. Slept 2 nights on couch, got up to have someone else take over so I could start making phone calls arranging to look at different resident setting for her. Then Care plan meeting with current residence, they ASSURED us they could win our trust back etc... Then Aunt said she did not want to move!!

However, now that we hired someone to stay with Aunt and document the "non-care" that Aunt was receiving, Aunt is now willing to look elsewhere. Current staff did not even bother to bring her down to the dining room for lunch, OR bring her up a lunch!!! This is how they expect to win our trust back? LOL And the 4 times a shift checks... well, she was checked at 9 PM and not again until 8 AM. THAT is not acceptable.

I am STILL ticked off. Not very often my sister and I get surly in a meeting. If it had been up to us, we would have started process yesterday to move her but Aunt wanted to give current residence another chance. We did not want to try to override our Aunts choice.

Now that Aunt is more open to looking elsewhere, I am hoping when she sees the residence she can move into, AND it's less money with a lot more care, she will happily move! BONUS, it's a LOT more convenient location that current location for ALL of the family.

I'm going to read, unwind and crawl into bed. 2 nights of non-sleep are not erased by short night of sleep & full 10 hours at work!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Here's hoping all goes well with the move for your Aunt, Pat. Somewhere more convenient for visitors AND will look after her better, would be ever so nice for the family, and I suppose your Aunt didn't realize just how bad her care was. *Gentle Hugs* to all.

Morning all, 26F with a feels like 16f. With having to be at the hospital early morning yesterday I only shovelled the steps and partial walkway so this morning I had 2 days worth of snow to do.

Sorry to hear you didn’t get to enjoy your last few days with Paula, such a disappointment..can’t blame you for being so upset with the non care your aunt is getting..how l9ng before she can be moved?

Girls come this morning seeing as I had to cancel yesterday...they aren’t working on much, I keotone of those gnome bottle topper kits for them to do, wish I had more fur so they could do more.

Tonight if weather cooperated SuzanneI will go to barrie for the big Festival of Lights at garden gallery, maybe I can take a few minutes to drop into fabricland and see if they have fur.

Bestifinish my coffee and clean up craft room, sure needs it

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, these are a few of the quilts that the ladies brought in to show off. Fractured diamonds. And a sampler quilt.

Wow! That looks amazing.

Verona, ON

WOW, WOW, WOW !!! Thank you fro sharing Betty. I would have loved to see them in person.

Dull day here. I broke my Rottis. 2 Days ago we went on a mega walk. All 3 of us need to lose some pounds. We went the epic walk way and by the time we neared home Diesel and Chaos were behind me. They came home got in the house and flopped. They didn't even want their dinner that night. They were not wanting a long walk yesterday at all and this morning they ambled down the hill on the lane and came right back home.2 happy but very tired Rottis. I've been really monitoring their walks as Diesel is having a problem with his 1 back leg. We've done multiple short walks every day but I see we need to lengthen them. Diesel as in the past will just sit and wait for me as long as he can see me.

I'm thinking about going for a nap - but there is 275 LB of dog on the bed.

You be careful Betty and don't overdo it so you can enjoy your guests on the weekend.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

275 pounds of dog?? How MANY does that represent?? LOL

Pictures were awesome, thanks for sharing them.

We talked Aunt into touring other facility, she has intake assessment on Friday and if accepted, she will be moved over on Monday. I would not be too surprised if we don't end up in lawsuit. The current facility will try to be paid for the whole upcoming month and there is NO way we'll agree to that. They can take their "Care Plan" and use it anyway they see fit. If they have the need of suggestions, I have a few for them.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

The photos are beautiful! That must have been so neat to see!

LOL, Dianne!! Do they leave you any room at all?? I know just one of mine, and they're only about 50 pounds each, can take up an entire queen size bed because of how they stretch out! Your boys you probably can't even push over to make some room for yourself!!

Verona, ON

Pat just 2 dogs - Rottis. Diesel is 150 lb and Chaos is 125 lb They are love bugs and give off an enormous amount of heat. Enough heat that I often only need a sheet on a cold night.

Well Deb they do take up a lot of the bed but they know where my spot is and won't go on it.That took a bit of training but they know the routine now. The only thing is they like to have a paw touching me but that's not a problem now.

It is mild here just dull and gray.I moved in wood and tidied up the dogs' yard all wearing just a Tee shirt.

Tomorrow is my appointment at the Eye/Ocular Lab so all the tests will be completed when I see the specialist. My borrowed son will drive me - I hate to ask as Fri is his day off but he's "no worries"

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, warming up a tad here but calling for freezing rain..much to do today so best it clear up by afternoon.

Lordy Dianne, here I was complaining Ziggy taking end of bed where my feet go, they are some size dogs.

Pat good luck with your aunt’s assessment today, big worry off your mind if she gets accepted and likes the facility.

I believe they have 5 glow events set up, perhaps next year one will be in Kingston Dianne.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

My only experience with Rottweilers have been positive. I have a tendency to like the bigger breeds. My nephew had Great Danes, they were such nice dogs. NOT crazy about small yappy dogs!

Marie said if Aunt did not pass the cognitive level required for the one facility, they just had an opening at another (by the same company and right next door to the other one) and perhaps she would fit in there better. So, it looks like she has placement either way.

We have to have her out of the apartment by midnight tonight and we have so little help, it's a worry. And those of us helping have physical limitations. We are just not as young and healthy as we once were! Our backs and knees no longer play friendly.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good luck Pat.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Could you hire helpers for the day, know it’s an expense but Lordy your physical well being is worth it..maybe those employment companies that you hire by the hour/day?
Good luck

Seems all of a sudden I’m making headway..

Poster time

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Still unpacking, just got the net back yesterday. Loving the weather, high 60s this week-end for the Christmas parade with the band. Riding in it pulling trailer and tossing candy.

Verona, ON

Back from Kingston. We made a day of it. Steve even took me to Burger King for lunch. I had never had a Whopper before. Steve just laughs at me - he's a fast food junkie. We even stopped at Timmy's to get a doughnut.

Appointment went well. I was the first appointment after lunch. They took me in early too. I hate the photo lab part of it all. I don't/ can't sit still as much as they would like. And of course when they tell you "don't blink" I immediately want to blink.

Karen that weather must make you smile and relax. The parade sounds like fun.

Oh Pat that is a really tight time line. for you. Another time just call the Guidance Counselor at the local high school. They can recommend and send you some reliable kids.

Diesel and Chaos were more than happy to have me home. My goodness you would think I had been away for a week.Pat that is another great thing about Rottis - they love their human and want to be with them all the time.

Need to rustle up something for the TH to eat.

Stay safe and well.

Got everything out before 7Pm, now have to finish dealing with all the stuff.

I worked like crazy at work, hoping to get everything I HAD to get done so I could take some time off and help with the moving. Instead, not only did I not get to leave early, I worked late! STILL didn't get everything done.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, damp out, calling for rain but none yet..hope it stays that way.

I’ll say my sympathies to USA re loss of President Bush, a great loss...

Been up since 4a.m. Got everything done I needed to get done except get posters nailed to a few posts, can’t do that till day break then it relax with the girls..this afternoon I have to head into town, ordered the salads I need for greg’s 50th tonight then spruce myself up..a nap wouldn’t hurt at some po8nt lol

Pat, best of luck, hope all goes well with the move..sorry you couldn’t leave early, never happens leaving earlywjphen you need to leVe early..grrr

Karen, glad you are up and running..bet it feels nice finally being settled and wow without the snow

Dianne you had quite a day..bet it felt great getting out for the entire day and not worrying about the driving..those furries sure love you..did you need new glasses?

Well best I make myself a coffee, washed the upstairs floors, they are dry enough to walk on, at least ziggythinks so...wants out

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good luck with your sales today.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I never thought of the high counselor, that is a GREAT idea. I used to know enough of the teens at church I could hire good help but when the work is during the SCHOOL day, they aren't much help. I'm also finding the teens are no where near as strong as my sons were (are still). I have a tendency to forget, not every teen can have weight lifting records like my guys did!! Unrealistic expectations for current teens based on over achiever sons LOL.

Thanks to my son, my sister & my twin brother, a few hired hands they got my Aunt out of the apartment. They took truck loads to donations, dump & to our houses. I have 4 huge boxes to repack into something I can handle and will take complete kitchen stuff to a needy person I know. He lost everything and this will help him get set up again.
I went back to bed this morning after wrapping Ben's leg and slept until noon!!! OH MY... can't remember last time I slept until 8AM let alone noon. I have been burning candle at both ends.

I think I would consider a dog if I could put in a doggy dog. I have to make it so Ben does not have to let dog in & out, and it would have to be a good sturdy dog. I would want something Ben won't be apt to run over with his wheelchair. If my other aunt's standard poodle was better disciplined, Cody would have been a good choice. Cody is the biggest standard poodle I have ever seen, he is seriously as big as my nephew's Great Danes.

Parade sounds like fun, hope you have good weather/

Betty, when is your personal craft show?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tired, want to grab an hour nap then on to greg’s Surprise 50th

Didn’t have lots of people but those who came spent

I sold about $500 and Darlene emailed me with a $250.00 order from things her sister saw and Dar wants to buy for her , sharonbout $75 worth, she will pay me when I see her..couple of girls said they would drop in tomorrow

Joanne sold about $500

Pat had a few things and sold a little over $100

All and all I’d say we did ok and got to visit with friends

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

I am so excited, I never win anything, but I did today! An artist/dog person had asked people to post photos of their dogs on facebook and she was going to choose one to do a painting of, for free, as a tribute to her partner who died a year ago. Her paintings run $500 for custom work. My photo of Andy, the boy from my last litter, was chosen! She did such a beautiful job!

Oh Deb you made me smile. What a wonderful gift. The only thing I have ever won in my life was a bathroom scale....... like I need to know how much weight I should lose.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

hehehe.. I won a set of embroidery needles for a sewing machine & spools of thread (before I had embroidery machine) so I gave it to Sis.

Sounds to me like you ALL did pretty good at sales!! Do you think you will do this again some time? What sold the best? A friend just participated in a sale and told me she would NEVER do it again!!

I did participated in small sale at school YEARS ago, sold very little but I enjoyed going to the other small time/amateur crafters and trading stuff after the sale. I had variety of stuff and had earmarked some of my stuff that if this didn't sell it was going to "this person" for Christmas etc... so it wasn't any huge problem for me.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty must have been busy yesterday. Tired and sleeping in today.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon all..

Had a great day yesterday, no sooner did the craft sale end, trip to town for salads wasoff for Greg’s 50th..

This morning chatted with mom, she left for city then the boys arrived as power was shut off in the entire town for repairs so they had to get generator going, watch that sump pumps ran, everyone now gone and I’m thinking maybe a nice hot bath..had thought it might be nice to do nothing floor rest of the day..

But before so I’m going to start looking if anyone has generac units on sale where if power goes off the unit automatically starts up..think they run $5,000..big sigh, sure would relieve me of worry.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

If the $5,000 is affordable, it would sure be a BIG relief!!! I've never lived where it is necessary to have a sump pump.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all..damp today, few flurries but topical of early December..we almost lost all our snow over the weekend, light coat covers the ground but that is about it.

Pat, with all this melting water coming in like crazy soi will investigate the generac..I’ve a new generator I could sell, only used 1/2 hr.wouldnt get a whole lot for it but every little bit would count.

Guess I’d best figure out my finances..with all I’ve done this year it took a lot of my savings..always something that wants your dollars.

I’ve orders for 2 Christmas throws and a tree skirt so best I take inventory and see what I can drum up or make, still have moms cross stitch to quilt, lots to do

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
