3 hours and 8 hours.

Off to get the oil changed in the car. Then to stop at Sprint to upgrade my cell phone.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Can't sleep, I've been up for hours, working on the house. Paula leaves a week from tomorrow. Much of my forward motion will come to grinding halt I'm sure.

Today I finish painting the living room and guys will bring my stuff out of storage: couch, recliner, big pink dresser and dining room table.

For me the worse thing about painting is climbing the ladder, it kills my knees. I'm embarrassed to have someone see me struggle to climb. It's worse as the day goes on, as I get more tired. Sometimes I just CAN'T do it.

Contractor comes today to hang new medicine cabinet in main bathroom. I still new to repaint the bathroom vanity. I have new hinges for the doors.

I think I mentioned that the NEW hot water tank was leaking, so NO hot water since Friday. I expect call to have company rep here to get this handled. I'm sure the hot water tank people want to blame it on the installer/contractor. I don't care who's responsible, I want it fixed and HOT water!!

I ordered new light "shades" and light bulbs for the kitchen fan/light combo. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CKPVK9L/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07142S8R5/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Ok, back to work for me. Stay warm Peeps!

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning, I have my Santa name and I am excited!

Busy weekend and lost a family friend and coworker of DH so am sure will be
some traveling this week for that.

Just DH, DS and I for Thanksgiving also. Tried to talk DH into going to a buffet or such for dinner but....there are no left overs. Have mercy.

He has been home since Thursday night with no work, did a few things around house and finally got entrance area painted (only took 2 years to finish...has been 2 colors since!)

Stay safe and warm all
Debbie

"If a man says he'll do something, he'll do it. No need to remind him every 6 months!"

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, sorry to hear of the loss of a friend, difficult time for sure.

I’m with Paul, I love cooking all the extras as I too like leftovers, guess that is why even though I go to Melanie and greg’s fir Christmas dinner I cook a small turkey, just have to have a week of leftovers lol

Hopefully the no work for Oaul will only be temporary, know how worried you both were a few years ago when you thought PAUL would have a permanent layoff...

Pat,you are too cute..yes, they don’t like being reminded. Aren’t you thrilled you are in control of the house reno’s

Excited that Karen finally signed papers for her new home today..now the work begins.

Got what I needed cut, sanded and now for the clean up, need to take something for these aching bones though before I start putting saw and sander away in back room.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

It is difficult to keep Ben from getting in the middle figuratively and literally of the remodeling. I will say that the kitchen remodel is working out just like I envisioned, I no longer have to walk the long way around the kitchen because he's blocking all passages everywhere!
I feel bad for Ben, he just wants to see what is going on but he just isn't sensitive to the fact that he is IN THE WAY! blocking access etc.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad he is well enough to get in the middle..he had been doing much better lately right?

Whatever will you do when Reno’s are over and you’ve much time on your hands..

Wonder if Susan is feeling ok, haven’t seen her on the past few days

Deb hows the weather in your neighbourhood?

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

It's been colder than normal here, lows in 20s, highs in upper 30's low 40's. Supposed to get close to 50 on Thursday. We had some snow last weekend, but with the temps above freezing, it just melts, the dogs get wet playing outside. Wish if it were going to snow that it would just freeze and stay below freezing!

Just listening to the radio, active shooter at a hospital in Chicago. What is wrong with people these days!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

He's still been plagued with UTI and breaking teeth but at least he is not in bed with IV antibiotics We're in for another round at the dentist, 2 in 2 weeks.

I don't understand the violence either. Few months ago a shooter shot a random person at the local Walmart. He didn't even know her! .

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We are all closed on our new house. Tomorrow we see a couple contractors to get estimate on what we need and want done.

Just in case anyone needs turkey cooking directions, here's some from great grand Amelia age 6.

Sorry to hear about losing your friends Debbie. Sending prayers.
Pat, I can so relate to your comment, don't remind them every 6 months.
Karen, I love that note from Amelia.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Started taking tumeric paste tonight - looks simple enough to make/take. Hope it helps Bob & his falling. He says he'll be standing in the closet and suddenly he's on his butt. He went to the Dr Monday, and he's getting a specialist in Red Deer to call him for an appointment. Hope it's something easy to fix.
Making a pink prayer shawl for a friend - she's been in the hospital since her b-day Oct 22nd, and they're still not sure what's wrong. Almost rulled out cancer, but going to have a liver biopsy and a bone marrow test. She was quite jaundiced there for awhile, and they almost lost her a couple of times. Somethings going on with her liver, and she has 2 huge hernias in her tummy. She's a poor healer, so they're not taking the hernias out until other areas are taken care of.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, -4 with -15 later this evening.just got garbage to roadside, having coffee then spending the day in Santa’s Workshop.

Gooqdness susan that is not good news for bob or your friend..maybe Bob has a pinched nerve..he has been working a lot on your home, maybe too much for him...let’s hope doctors find out what is causing problems for your friend and Bob.

How adorable Karen, Amelia is a sweetie, she is growing so. Where are you staying til you move into your home?

Not fond of dentists Pat,hoping no extractions for him.

Have lights on everything that I’ll light up as I have my coffee, need a bigger house to fit Christmas inside lol

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I enjoy a recipe that is EASY to follow. Well written Amelia!!

That's the thing about life, we all have health issues and as we age, we lose more and more friends and family. Babies born, marriages... changes.

We have HOT water!!! Thank you Curtis (contractor's worker). Finished painting the living room (thank you Paula, she did the last 4 inches below the ceiling so I didn't have to climb the ladder). Bought a SMALL farmhouse style dining room table and proceeded to take the drop leaves off making it smaller. Then attached an elevated board with clamps so Ben can slide his wheelchair "under" the table. Got the clock and Ben's rack put up. Cleaned like crazy (long ways from done). Paid contractor to hang 48" mirrored medicine cabinet in main bathroom (almost done in there).

The remodel has been SUCH a huge help. I am no longer having to "walk the long way around Ben" when he's in the kitchen (down hall, into living room and into dining room just to get past him!) . I can open and close the refrigerator. We moved plates, glasses & silverware so it's closer to table and NOT next to Ben. Life is GOOD!

Now if Paula only was willing to stay longer we would get this house whipped into shape!! LOL When I told her where the Christmas tree is currently stored, and that we are going to get it out of it's "spot", I thought her eyes would bug out!! It is WAY buried in the barn!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hooray, Pat - nice to have this organized so you can actually Function in your home.
When Paula's finished at your place, send her here lol HOORAY for hot water!!

re: Bob - It would be great if only a pinched nerve!
Spoke to my friend Joan - they did the liver biopsy, now waiting for results. Next they'll so a bone marrow test - not sure when.
it's +9c now - sun & cloud. Going crafting today. Making a prayer shawl for Joan.
Sorry I didn't check in - been busy knitting & going places.
Got a gift cert for a hamburger @ A&W because of my good bowling score 👍

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about Bob. Keeping you both in our players.
Pat, sounds like things are moving along smoothly.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We are at DGDs rental home. Moving is in process with hopes we will be finished by the end of the week-end. Afraid we are going to have problems with a neighbor, His chickens are roaming free and seem to like being on our deck which is quickly getting covered with chicken poop. Asked once to keep them at home but so far not happening. Sigh.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I hope your neighbor can find a way to keep his chickens home. Finding chicken poop on your deck is NOT nice. When we moved into our 1 acre home over 20 years ago, every time I cleaned the water trough the neighbors ducks "enjoyed" it. I am grateful the neighbor saw the problem and HE deal with it himself.

Hanging curtains in kitchen & one window in living room is on the agenda before I head to bed. Dead tired.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, squalls in the forecast this morning..got quite a bit of snow during the night, Andrew has already been here to plow..imagine, calling for rain Friday and Saturday..watch me spend the hour shovelling when I could simply wait for rain to wash it away lol

That is not good new Karen, might just have to call the municipality rather than dealing with him..maybe tell him if you see him that you want to start up as good neighbors and hate the thought of getting on the wrong side of friendship but can’t deal with chickens..kill him/her with sweetness. You will so enjoy being settled into your own home..

Patits a wonder you don’t have a breakdown, you just never stop..curtains just make a place..roger would say I hang curtains before the first piece of furniture was set inside the house.

Looked at flights for Florida, Darlene and John are tempting me, but I’m still debating, hate going and ending up sick.

Guess on my agenda is shovelling then getting a few projects finished.

Verona, ON

Good morning everyone,

Thanks to Diesel I have been up since 2:30 am.Lots of wildlife on the move. Plus I think it is a full moon on Friday.

Snowing here too..

Karen I hope you can get the chickens on your neighbor's property. I have a problem with new people on the lane letting their dog run willy nilly. I have spoken to them several times, emailed them and even put her in the Escape and delivered Nyla back home. There live in TO but this will be eventually their permanent home. I am tempted the next time she appears to bring her in to play with Chaos and not let them know. I wonder how long it will be before they realize she is missing.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I am very thankful to have y'all in my life.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Our weather has been 32 one day, and 60+ the next. A lot of people here are getting bad colds because the change in weather. So far we are OK.
Getting ready to go to quilting. Not for sure how many will be there, with tomorrow being Thanksgiving.
Betty, the Florida sunshine might do you some good.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Our weather is doing much the same Linda. Won't complain, it's sunny and not snow as it is in MI. I also know it won't last long.
Walt spoke to the neighbor and he said he would repair the chicken yard but so far...... We want to be good neighbors but will not be over run either. We also have chickens and keep ours under control. The house was empty for some time and the chickens are used to having run of the yard. If they stayed in the yard I wouldn't mind so much but don't care to have the mess on our porch. Cleaners are there today, so happy about that and hoping they do as well as I am hoping. Paying extra for deep cleaning. Planning on move in this week-end.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bet Karen the only thing you’ll not miss will be the snow and cold..

LIndakay, please take photos of what you are up to in the quilting group.

My workshop is busy, lots going on but not finishing a lot so after today and some stain8ng I will finish projects I’ve started

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Quilting group was canceled for today. Day before Thanksgiving, every one is busy prepping for traveling. I will take photos next week.
Karen, I know you all must be so excited about moving into your new home. Especially near your family.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hope they told you lindakay before you ventured out.

How close is your closest family Karen?

Dianne with being up so early this morning you are likely already in bed..luckily your furry visitor isn’t fighting with the TH. Did you get much snow/squalls?

Head pounding so already in bed

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No. I was not told. Oh well.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I would hang curtains first, then take them down to paint - yup, painting is the first thing I do in a "new to us" home. Here I painted when we moved our home, because our tenants had painted & I wanted to have the colour I initially had, back.
I've also added some new colours 👍
Almost finished the prayer shawl for our friend in the hospital. Should be done tonight.
Bob's specialist is supposed to call sometime between now & the end of the year, to schedule an appointment *sigh*
Heading over to our neighbours that broke her ankle. She's now (as of Nov 14th) able to bear weight on it - she's really happy about that, but I think she's overdoing it cuz it's swelling up. She was seated for 6 weeks, so it's not used to being used.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

If I'm REALLY lucky I get to paint before I move in. It is sooo much easier than after but I'm rarely that lucky. Generally have to move in quickly from one house to next.

THIS house, the FIRST thing I did was pull out the carpet out of the 4th bedroom. Red /orange shag was NOT staying LOL. There was old linoleum tile on the floor underneath. Pulled up the "computer room" carpet before the move in, had nicely finished wood floor underneath!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you stateside..

-14 with a -23 feel like..having coffee then out to shovel
Mom and aunt Muriel are dropping in this afternoon and I don’t want them falling on ice which may be hidden under snow, so easy to do.

Must run to foodland when I finish, how I missed getting ziggy her food is beyond me..

Susan, I could never do black, bought maroon once, painted entire room and next day repainted, just too dark for me..specialist sure don’t rush with calling with appointment..is bob in any Pain?

Wood flooring was a bonus Pat, too bad all the rooms wouldn’t have had it.

Might put in new floors after Christmas, must get out and see what is on the market

Off I go..coffe/muffin time then shovelling

Pacifica, CA

happy thanksgiving all..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same to you Liz, was thinking of you the other day, do you have family near all the fires

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Pacifica, CA

no no family near fires, but sure suffered with smoke was so thankful yesterday rained real good air so clean now.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow, close enough to you to be affected by smoke?

What are you and Kennyupto today?

Pacifica, CA

oh it was horrible the smoke would sit , the winds blew it up our way
not doing anything we work tomorrow so just a quiet day ill make a small turkey later on.
glad you found the orange chenille

Victoria Harbour, ON

Let’s hope rain does the fires in..where was the rain when you really needed it? Nice to just relax, too bad it isn’t like olden days when everyone had days off for special holidays.

Know I shouldn’t lay on the couch as it will put an end to my workday but girls come tonight so that will get me back on track and besides mom and aunt Muriel are suppose to drop in thopis aft.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Liz - glad you're not having problems after the fires.
No, not Black, Betty...... I said I had my colours BACK - I would never paint black walls - too confining!
Bob's not in any pain at all - nor dizzy. Hasn't fallen since. It was 1 1/2 weeks ago since he fell. Glad he didn't hurt anything.

I think this was the last of the nice days today - temperatures are going down as of next week.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Are all your tummies full? Lots of left overs? Any shopping in the offing?

Overcast here but otherwise a nice day..imagine tomorrow 46 and rain..didn’t get outdoor lights hung out front, I’m think8ng tomorrow will be my last chance.

Lol, read black Susan,my bad.. glad Bob isn’t in any pain.

Think I’ll sit and make a shopping list, things keep flashing in my mind of things needed, wouldn’t you know it’s in the night and no pencil and paper, bet I don’t remember half. Lots of Black Friday sales going on here, maybe I’ll run to Barrie this afternoon and see what I can find that is on my list.

This morning I guess I’ll try and finish up a few more projects and tidy up..regardless of how much sawdust I’ve swept up it seems to make it to living room rug

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I don't fight the crowds at all. If I need something I will shop online.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm with you Linda. Don't have the kids lists yet so......
Big push today, three guys hired to help empty the semi. hoping today and tomorrow will do it. Took three days to fill but empty should be faster.
Had a very nice dinner yesterday at former DIL's, crazy huh? We have stayed close for the sake of the kids. Besides we never had a problem between us.
