Morning all, light drizzle again, pump is work8ng overtime, Andrew said I’d likely not see a difference in water flow for 3-4 days so we will see.

I took all the fabric out of the fabric cupboard and reorganized, not a whole lot of Xmas fabric but then you can’t keep using and still have it right?

What I did f8nd is 2 more panels, will try to do them shortly, if I don’t sell they can go in Christmas 2019 bin.

One heck of a sore back this morning, guess also that carrying of totes has caught up with me..getting old. Lol

Will be tired today, stayed up and watched cnn till 2 then dozed offs Omar bye somewhere along the line I’ll need a nap.

Karen I found the chenille you gave me, what I can’t find is the chenille orange that Liz gave me on my visit with her, must look for it so I can try a snowman pillow that I’ve wanted to make for a few years..yep mind is working overtime

What are you all up to today, guess your mind is on Thanksgiving..know Karen is in the throws of moving, I’m so excited for her.

Dianne how is the TH?

Debbie, I keep looking at weather forecast for weekend

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, we had a wicked wind all day and night. They are starting to report snow ...but I think will be late weekend. I will keep you posted.

YES Put me in for the Santa Swap.
It is hitting me hard. I had Barb the last 2 years....Gosh I miss her!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I miss her too. I keep wondering if she got her cat done?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

*Hugs* Debbie - I can imagine it would hit you hard......
I'm not sure if I will be in the swap. I'll think about it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Miss Barb as well, have several things out that came from her

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I will watch and enjoy seeing all your gifts. I still have too much on my plate to try and take on anything extra right now.

They tell me I'll have a kitchen by Friday... I will get excited about that when I see it. progress but it seems like quite a bit more, most of it would move quickly when it starts, more flooring to put in, backsplash is started, appliances need to be moved into place...

The hall reconstruction is coming along, they have most of the plastering done on the walls, the doors need to be rehung, walls painted and my cupboard above the Washer & dryer replaced as well as all new shelves cut for the pantry.

I have 4 days in a row off this weekend with Veterans day etc, looks like I will be CLEANING if the kitchen & laundry, pantry & hall are actually done. Everything is soooo filthy from construction dust. I want to hire some help cleaning, I just don't have the stamina for it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Lots of work, but it will be worth it in the end. Please send photos.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Pat - looking forward to the finished project too!
I think I'll give the Christmas exchange a "pass" this year, too. I also have a lot on my plate, although I've quit as the secretary at the Community Centre, I am now back knitting prayer shawls. Started one tonight, and of course I'm also doing my quilt. Hope to get the new floor put in before Christmas.
Snow on the ground, and I don't think it will be going away anymore - I'm sure it's here to stay.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, light mist and dreary outside but still better than snow.

Calling for snow tomorrow, hopefully nothing major as I leave for Buffalo in the morning, Debbie order sunshine your side of the border.

How thrilled you will be Pat to have the reno’s Behind you..having gone through a flood and taking many months to bring back to normal I can understand your frustration.

Just finished binding on bird throw, doing little random quilting on blocks, guess I should have cut out blocks from panel, oh well too late now

Karen, good luck with the signing of sale today..am sure you are filled with emotions..hugs

Having lunch then will put binding on yet another sm throw

Best I get a little less ambitious, might get nobody day of sale and what to heck will I do with all these pieces other than saving them fior Xmas 2019

Verona, ON

Good afternoon.

Dull and dreary here. The sky looks like snow is on its way.

Chaos is just beside himself the last couple of days.He has discovered there are dogs and cats on the TV. I think that he thinks they are IN the TV. There are nose prints all over the TV screen.

My heart hurts today for those in California who are facing/faced such violence.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Signing is actually tomorrow but thanks anyhow.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Always so much violence with these guns..horrific,feel for the families

Too funny, odd how just now Chaos has taken an interest lol
Weather same here Dianne..furnace is up, not sure if it’s because I’m tired but it’s 74 and I’m still chilled to the bone. Think I might take hot bath and put on my Jammie’s, I know it’s early but might as well get comfy.

Karen, keep thinking today is Friday..are you making headway with packing?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

My daughter is so super at packing that we have no dishes. Paper plates to eat on and cooking pans to serve from. After tomorrow I think we will be eating out or having carry in. Closing at 10 in the morning. We will then be officially homeless until we get to TN and close on new house.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I always better when the papers are signed, the deal recorded at the county and NO backing out!
this is a short month at work, between Veterans day, thanksgiving AND the day after, it's tough to get all the work done. My boss passed me a project she wanted done by next Friday, I told her I just can't. Too much to do between now and then & I'm booked up with assessments. she gave me an extension...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Any animal we've had, had always been fascinated by anything on tv but especially other cats & dogs.
Glad she gave you an extension, Pat - your Nov is busy, like our October.

Went bowling today & I got bowled over - got a 242 in 5 pin bowling!! I'm ladies Bowler Of The Week for all the leagues! My name will go in the paper, and if my score holds out for 3 more weeks (hah! 😉) I'll get a chicken from the local grocery store! I like chicken
Both my DH & I have had our names in the paper for high game & high triple (him only for the high triple).

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Lots of luck Karen, I know you have so many emotions, but I know you will be happy in your new home, closer to family.

Glad you got the extension Pat, one can only do so much.

Congrats on the good scores Susan.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning on, it’s a cold one, few flurries
SUZANNE will call me when she is ready, likely 10, then we have to drive 1/2 hour one way out of our way, she forgot to drop heart monitor off in Newmarket grrr so an hour delay, then have to pick up Rita so likely won’t get stateside till 2-3

Great score Susan..

All your emotions will settle Karen once you’ve signed papers in Tennessee and start your new life..think no snow,no snow, family, no snow when you sign today lol

Pat, glad you spoke up and said you couldn’t do it, you can only do so much, gkad she understood that.

Best I have breakfast and make sure I’ve everything packed

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Boss knows I take the deadlines seriously and usually get done in advance, so she probably took that into consideration.

WOW!! that is some bowling score!!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, we have snow flurries here. If I have them here, I guarantee up that way by border is getting much more. Drive safe

Verona, ON

Snowing here but it is a wet snow.

Good for you Susan !! I bowled in a league for several years and loved it.

Safe travels Betty. I hope you get to your destination before the temp goes down and things freeze.

Went out the lane and into the village. My big travel for the week. lol Had parcels at the PO plus needed a few things from Foodland. I also stopped at Nicole's Gifts and picked up a few things - don't know whose name I will have but got a couple of neat things for the box. Tonight from 5 - 8 a % of sales go to the Children's Christmas Fund here in Verona. I rarely drive after dark but asked Nikki if what I bought could be counted in the fund raiser. The fund makes sure every kid in need gets a box with new pair of PJs, underwear, socks, toiletries, a book, hat and mitts and a toy.

Good for you Pat - standing up for yourself.

Excited for you Karen !! Safe travels south.

Stay safe and warm everyone.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you for the congrats - I was surprised at my score lol

What do you say to an elderly person who lives in their own apartment, and is Sure they're getting ripped off for the rent cost? He used to rent a bedroom in a house, for $300, had no privacy and it was a small bedroom. Got physically abused by the landlord, so moved to another house's bedroom and started to pay $300, but by year's end was paying $900 and had just a bedroom, with no private bathroom, etc. Moved to a senior's apartment block and now has his own suite with 1 bedroom. Pays $850 which includes cable tv. He has to pay for phone & internet. Feels he's being ripped off. He's 84, has a non-functional hearing aid & won't pay for repair or a new one. He falls alot, and if he moved to a nursing home, he'd pay about $3.5k/month. Can't get him to understand (doesn't hear much of what you say) that he's doing GREAT at this price. Regular apartments can cost about $1 - 2k/mo, so $850 is a deal, even though he pays his own phone & internet. Someone said it was cable, so now he thinks he's paying "cable" twice. No, one is cable tv, and by gosh the internet is cable too 😁
I get tired of screaming into the phone so he can hear me, and also to know who I am. He lives in Calgary and we're too far away to visit to explain.
I put a call into the apt mgr, and someone who's a Social Worker there will hopefully get back to me & be able to successfully explain to him what he pays for & that he's NOT getting ripped off.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope someone can help him. Here in the states, if you qualify for medicaid, the nursing homes are free.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

WElllllll… not really free. If you receive SSI or other income, the state withholds all but about $69 of the residents income. So, essentially the resident is paying but Medicaid resident is not paying out of pocket what the public pays. That little $69 is expected to pay for all the things that the nursing home doesn't provide. Tissues, haircut (unless you just want it cut straight off), dental and more. Cell phone is a personal expense as well. $850 for suite in most areas of the country is a BARGAIN. Feeling "ripped off" is a common problem for seniors, they don't recognize the cost of living has gone up & up.... they don't keep up.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Feeling sad. Took my wedding rings off to take a bath. Put them on, and looked fine (no glasses on), then took them off again in the bedroom to dress & when I went to put them on again the diamond was gone. No idea where it is - Bob's been looking in the dark, with a flashlight with no luck. This has NOT been my year for jewellry - still haven't found my mom's family ring that I lost in May.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am so sorry. I know that awful feeling in the pit of stomach. Praying it will be found and you can have it reset.

Lyndonville, NY

Susan, put a stocking over the end of a vaccum hose, and suck up the area.

The diamond will stick to the stocking and not go inside. AND to be safe....you can also do it with an empty bag and check the bag when done. I had to do this when I lose my contact lens. AND it has helped save me LOTS of money!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Anyone heard from Betty, did she make the trip OK?

Lyndonville, NY

I haven't heard

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

re: Diamond - I'm just very blessed that the man who gave it to me is still with me. I'm counting my blessings. We've scanned, swept, scoured everywhere in the bathroom & bedroom, and the hallway between. If it went in with the clothes I threw into the washing machine, it's gone - didn't do the wash but pulled everything out carefully & shook it. It's a top loader, so it could have fallen into the holes in the bottom of the tub. It's a small area it could have been lost in. I repeat - I'm blessed to have Bob with me, and a ring can always be replaced.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'm sure Betty's just settling in, having a rest and/or enjoying herself 😉

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

You are so right Susan.

Lyndonville, NY

I have seen Betty on line on FB but not on here. It's been a busy couple days
So I haven't investigated. I am sure they are having a good time. They are getting a bit of snow up that way.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

glad they're having a good time 👍

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, came home to snow last night, ad to shovel...yuk yuk but other than blowing snow 1/2 way to buffalo Friday and extremely cold high winds on Saturday we had good time.

I found it hard all the walking, pain from neck radiated down my back..l8nda had me sit in Khols on one of those massagers, felt great but Sunday I paid for it..will sit in my mighty today not doing much.

Was in mega pain when I got in last night and left all in my car so now it’s time to bring in my bags..other than the $$$ gifts for Jeff and his boys I’m ready for Christmas, just need to wrap. Not hard when you start dec 26th of 2018.

Messaged Melanie to drop in, bought her the cutest camper that all lights up, might as well give her that so she can enjoy.

The girls bought me 3 Christmas pieces..a wall unit that blows snow, lights up and sings and 2 driftwood pieces that fo with my driftwood wreath and Joseph/Mary/Jesus piece, not sure the counter they are on is large enough to hold them all, might have to redecorate.

Will go back and read posts and comment once I get a coffee and organize myself.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you are back home safe and sound. Sorry to hear you are in so much pain.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - glad to hear you're home. Nice pressies from the girls - time to redecorate, eh? 👌When do you stop? 🤣
Doing some paint touchups in our hallway - 2 different paint tins, and wouldn't you know it, I picked the too dark burgundy paint. Painted on, and it's fine. Had some difficulty cleaning the brushes, so just threw it out - after all, we have Lots of paint brushes. 👍

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning..warning on weather site that a winter storm is brewing, nowhere to be today, tomorrow afternoon is specialist appointment but am sure roads will be cleared by then.id this weather is in your area Dianne seems like you’ve gotten ahead of the game on your outings...I too need to get to Foodland but first one needs to get dressed before heading out.

Karen, you headed south, if so likely just on time to beat bad weather.

Did you find your diamond Susan?

Debbie, how have you been feeling?

Well, off to be t dress Ed, quick trip to Foodland, get garbage out and play downstairs, few things I could finish for the sale.
