Looks like you are not sleeping?
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends, old and new..come sit a spell
Morning, cold and rainy out there, spoke with joanne who lives about 30 minutes from me, more towards Barrie way and she said there was a few flakes, you know those white things..
No not sleeping, waiting till optometrist opens and book an appointment to check out my eyes, who knows, maybe that is the cause of these headaches.
Invited to Darlene and johns tonight for Chinese, hoping to feel better so I can go and enjoy, they leave weeks end for fort Myers, Lordy seems theyjust got back.
Headaches can be from so many things, stress, blood pressure, medications. I hope you can find the source and get rid of them.
Sure hoping, no fun, only way to mask them is drugs and don’t like that
Called Michelle’s optical but they aren’t open saturdays so will try on Monday, at least once I’ve scratched off list so that I know eyes are good or bad
Should be out doing some fall cleanup, past 2 weeks really put me behind
Headaches could be from allergies too. You spend a lot of time outside.
Went out to friends for eats, nice evening
sure is cold out there, hot chocolate then to bed
I'm looking forward to next week - warm weather is supposed to come. Not hot, but warm. Around 67F / 18c I hear......
Lordy, 39 here today, must push myself to get something done outside!! Off my mark with energy and the want to do things, give me a push will you. Need grass cut, outdoor patio cushions brought in, pumps out of water features and pond, battery taken out of lawnmower and back deck closed in, best I look for mitts.
Dianne, did you get a sprinkle of snow yesterday?
Susan, great temps com8ng, give you a few more days to do outside work
Linda Kay and pat what is your weather like?
Karen, when do you head home to start packing? Is the family coming north to help with the move?
Best I finish my coffee, going to cut out snowflakes till grass dries a bit, neighbours wake and it warms up a tad
Yes family members have offered to help. When it comes down to it, we really aren't moving a great lot. No appliances, only our bedroom, sewing area, and living room. There is a bunch needing sorting out. If I don't get it done we do have that huge garage to store in and can have an after we move sale in the spring.
Morning everyone. More than chilly here.
When Sharon's sleep angels have not found me for several days I resorted to an Rx sleeping pill.Managed to get almost 6 hours of good sleep. No bad dreams either.
It is cold here. I think this flipping from over 80* to low 40*s is messing with me. I usually don't feel the cold as much as the heat. My chimney hadn't been cleaned yet for the wood stove (Thurs is the day) so I am hesitant to get my yearly blazing fire started.Have my wood. just not stacked. My young helper from the summer is going to come down and help me.
Betty I have been plagued with headaches/migraines and I am sure the weather this summer/fall has something to do with them.
Karen do you have a short turnaround for a closing date ?
Susan great temps coming up for you .Please send it here.
Diesel and Chaos are having a terrible time with ticks and have absolutely no problem sharing with me.
Betty do your friends leaving for Fla know if their home was unscathed from Michael ?

Our weather is still nice, supposed to be 82 today, but Monday night a cold front hits, and is supposed to drop the temps to 50. Not too bad, I am looking forward to the cooler temps. No frost in the forecast yet.
Not sure what the temps have been but I worked outside in short sleeves yesterday for TOO long. Like gardening for me always, I just started I was going to tidy up a few things, dead head the Dahlias and ended up doing the whole front flower bed and picket fence flower bed, pruning down the butterfly bush and cutting the peonies to the ground and Knock out rose back. I filled to 2 huge garbage bins and have another 1 at least.
I got chilled and knew I was in deep doo doo. when I get chilled, I have an allergic reaction to the cold, get hives etc. I ended up using hot pads, heating my fleece blanket in the dryer and wrapping up. Avoided hives but I was pressing my luck.
Yuk Pat,you overdid
Nice weather all are getting
Dianne, best wait for chimney cleaning, glad you’ve help pilling wood.
Just had another break, time to go back out, sunny but cold, sure need a jacket..
Got pumps out of 3 pillar area
Grass cut
Lawn furniture set against the fence
Lawnmower battery rough inside/lawnmower covered for season
2 sets of patio cushions to be stored inside for winter
Brought in a bit more Halloween decor, have a few more things to do but pleased with what I accomplished so far
Maybe back deck closure can be done tomorrow
So far closing is set for Nov. 9 up north and Nov. 12 in TN. We then have up to a month rent free up north if we need it. TN house is vacant so immediate occupancy.
Karen, good for you!! That house is so exciting!!
I am considering a barn quilt for my "little barn", it's 8' x 20' and I have the perfect place for it. I just need to figure out if I would be enabling wasps to have the perfect home (under the bottom edge that hangs out) or for swallows by providing a good ledge to build a nest. NEITHER of those things are desirable to me.
Pat - "little barn"? Where would you hang this quilt, and......... why?!?!
A barn quilt is made of wood, and hung outside. I think she has a shed she is calling her barn.
Susan, i have learned that photos have to be taken with the camera held sideways, (landscape view). If held the other way, the always turn on DG.
My barn is 8 feet x 20 feet with barn style door and hip roof with 2 lofts, one on either side. A barn quilt is as Linda K said, a piece of wood that is painted in a quilt block pattern and hung as a decoration on the barn. http://www.quilttrailswnc.org has some links you can view and learn more about them.
http://www.hickorysheds.com/LoftedBarn.html I have a "lofted barn". I could only get an 8 foot wide one thru the narrow space between our patio and our neighbor's fence so I bought the longest one they make. I had it painted country white with hunter green trim & green metal roof.

That sounds pretty.
Brrrr, our cold front hit. 90 when I went to bed, 47 this morning, and raining.
Morning..
High of 52 today but rain, still better than snow lol
LIndakay that was quite a drop in temps, we had a few of those last week and hard to adjust to..how are your gardens
Pat, a barn quilt would be spectacular, are you leaning towards one design..when travelling through Ohio you see many.
Am sure Karen you will want to be moved in to your new home ASAP and beat driving in the weather..know you are excited about the move, is your hubby as well?
Handsome couple Susan, glad you had a great gathering.
Time to wipe down the upstairs floors, then those in basement then I’m caught up on my cleaning..my to do is clean front closet so between the both it should take me more than an hour or so..
Waiting for chill to pass then I will get at closing I back deck, don’t know why I’m procrastinating, usually it’s heavypkastic boarded on, this year I bough those canvas type drapes, should only mean using compressor to staple them up, was going to hang by hooks but decided to simplify..all about making things easier right.
I applique’d 4 snowflake blocks for the North Pole snow lady quilt this morning, might work on it for a bit this afternoon
21st Anniversary of my grandmothers death today, she was an amazing grandma..raised me from the time I was 6 months old until I married at 17
Still feel so deflated and without feeling,

Gardens are doing good. They were all just starting to bloom, as our summer was so hot. We started getting rain about a month ago, so everything is blooming nicely. No frost yet, so I may have blooms for a little while longer.
Missing my grandmother all the time too Betty. She died just before my first grand was born. Took me a long time to get used to the idea she was gone.
Hubby is as excited as I am, he's tired of all the extra work at the lake and the weather was wearing us down.
We will miss the lake because we have a long history there. All the grands grew up there and all are sad too but understand we need this change.
/Betty, I didn't remember you saying you had been raised by your grandmother.
Karen, refresh my memory, how many bedrooms and square feet? You certainly have the space to add a 3rd floor by putting in loft, that ceiling height is HUGE!!! I am not terribly fond of my current house but realize it has some features that would be difficult for me to give up and meets Ben's needs. I am hoping with the new kitchen I will learn to love this home. I can't see an alternative while Ben is still alive.
Yes Pat long long story but grandma and grandpa raised me, couldn’t have been easy at her age taking on a young one but she did..she is my MOM..
LIndakay you don’t have frost often do you? Are they mostly roses that are blooming? Going to tell you, I forgot name of the plants I bought and set in back garden , they were perennials but they bloomed from spring and are still 8n bloom..will be lots of those going in come spring. They seem to withstand cold and heat, good $$$vallue
Glad Karen that hubby is excited..family will feel better having you closer, always cottages to rent a few weeks a year where you can all gather.
Regardless pat which house you have it’s always not quite perfect..with all this rain my yard guy hasn’t come but after i cut grass yesterday I thought to myself, even if he doesn’t come till spring not end of the world but am anxiously waiting for Andrew to come and do the landscaping in the far corner of the house,
Tummy is saying it’s hungry, no doubt, didn’t have breakfast and worked up an appetite, almost finished closing in back deck, looks like hell but will do the trick, won’t have to shovel it this winter..first thing come spring I’ll be thinking of getting quote to close her in professionallythen I could sit and use it during the winter..so laughing, I don’t even sit out there in summertime, why would I in winter. 😜
Best have some eats and finish my job..need some slats to tack down floor edging so it doesn’t blow in the wind, that will be another day, worse is done
No frost yet.
I have roses, bougainvillea, pride of Barbados still blooming.
Morning all, high of 42 today with rain. Brrr. Winds were sure high during the night
Must every prettying your gardens LIndakay, did the wal around yesterday, I’d be hard pressed to find a few blooms.
Girls come for sewing, hard to believe Aline won’t be with us...big sigh
Finishing my coffee then it’s clean out the refrigerator, garbage day..have half my refrigerator freezer that can go out..got to learn continual buying of sale meats is not a savings when you don’t eat it.
Sure not much going on in my neighbourhood..sometimes that is a good thing right?
Paula and I got the rest of the dolls donated that were not "good", the ones we deemed not good enough to clean up, fix up and make wardrobes for. A local SVdP donates pretty much all of the dolls they get to Marie, and some should have gone to the garbage. We don't want to hurt their feelings, if we have to rehome some, we ALWAYS drive them out of town by at least an hour LOL.
We will donate back to SVdP as many dolls as they want, all cleaned, dressed with wardrobes and they will use them in their facility for the families in need.
Took Paula to one of my favorite craft places and bought a new piece of garden art. I'll have to take a picture.
Contractors are to spray the texture and paint today in the kitchen. We custom matched the light yellow color that is existing in the living room so they patch what will need fixed but the kitchen will be a sage green. A little darker than I normally would pick for wall but all cupboards appliances and back splash are all white, and the floor a light cream with light scattering of gray and tan.
Pat, it occurs to me that I asked you once about laces, ribbons and elastic I have. If you have a use for them with the dolls, I'm happy to send on to you. I think we both got wrapped up in life events and it slipped my mind. Just let me know please.
Sounds so pretty Pat. I do hope you can post photos.
Another cold day, 44 for the high.
Karen, thank you for the offer. I know I'll kick myself later but I have enough for a lifetime! and what I don't have, my sister does!!
Morning all,
High of 43today and rain..
Ziggy is cuddled next to me on the couch, it’s that kind of day.
Having my coffee then I’m off to food land, ran out of milk and hungry for a bowl of cereal. While I’m there am hoping to see the lady who wants to do snowman wreath, I’ve purchased the deco mesh, wreaths, rest of supplies I can buy but need to set up a date for her to come and start them.
Nov 2 I have girls coming to do glass blocks we did the snowman faces
As well, Mel and a few girls coming to do the winvpne stockings
time to start getting myself organized.
Betty, we have the same weather.
But I need to get the car packed, and off to quilting.
I got up to frost on my car yesterday and looks like today will be the same... I'd pretty get cracking! I don't want to be late for work AGAIN. I'm using my DBIL's car and couldn't find the scraper.
Sounds like your weather is worse than mine..
I’ve been sew8ng a bit, sun is trying to come out, might just sit upstairs and take in the sunshine rays
Enjoy you quilting group LIndakay and Pat don’t be late or you will have to stay late lol
Karen are you on your way home to pack?
Heading back to MI tomorrow, Will be at son's spending a few days with Amelia and Lolli. DIL, GD, GDil, are all going to Connecticut for the week-end. I had made the commitment to watch the girls before all this house stuff came up. We will be going on home on Monday. Then the job of sorting and packing begins. Good thing we don't need to be out at closing, takes away a lot of the stress.
Worried about my plants on the porch. Only have three but each is special to me.
Am sure you will enjoy the time with the girls Karen, big 7ndertak8ng though with so much for you to do at home..before you know it you will be a southerner lol
Not sure you answered my question, will you be living near family?
Yes DGD, her hubby kids. Also have another DGD not far away.
That will be nice for you Karen and likely not a long way for others to visit.
First sighting of snow this afternoon
Worked and finished snow lady throw, have to decide how to quilt
Already in bed, not so sure vomiting around the corner, wish my jello would set, might help
