Quilting always goes good. On the 1st wed of each month we make quilts for either the kids ranch or for local nursing homes. Other days we can work on what ever we want. We got 12 lap quilts for nursing homes done.
Sure hope that headache goes away soon.
Best/Worse/What did I Learn today? Chat with friends old/new, all welcome!
How many days do you go Lindakay?
Such worthwhile projects.
On the couch, put mom’s cross stitch on couch and now resting..likely resting because I’m cooking and don’t want to burn din din so best I not fall asleep.
You put Mom's cross stitch on "couch" or "frame"?
We only sew on Wednesdays.
Pat it’s 82x110, big quilt..she has so maaany not sure what she is doing with them..she is almost finished another top, only bought the blocks late spring.
Won’t be hard to quilt as the quilting markings are pre-printed and from what I see far from each other
Well you guys get lots done lindakay in only meeting one day a week. Did you receive an envelope from me?
Not yet. When did you mail it?
We Canadians can be funny lol

Got our LFLs in the newspaper! I did most of the writing for this (what an honour), but the newspaper did the research and put the numbers part in. That was nice of them.
I've been following the Lip Sync battles on You Tube. I think a fire department started it and challenged another fire department. It then spread to the police and EMTs. Good fun to watch.
They are all good, Dianne! They look like they're having such fun with this (as they obviously Are!)
Morning all, not the nicest of days today but tomorrow we will be back into summer.
Susan I’d have hoped you amd hubby would have been mentioned, after all you are the ones that made it a ‘fait accompli”..
Dianne is it only on tube, not a tv series? Must go in search for it.
I imagine Karen made it to Tennessee without mishap, likely last trip til spring as inclement weather makes for difficult driving.
Girls will be here and possibly Sharon, I’ve garbage to get out to roadside so I best get a move on.
Keep looking at the clock and remembering this day, how it changed so many lives and way of living
Prayers to survivors, to all as I know it affected each and everyone both sides of the border...
Hugs
Watching the memorials on tv now. Such a horrible day. We will never forget.
Sad day of remembrance for us all.
We are in TN. DS called us yesterday, concerned about weather from Hurricane. We might be getting a lot of rain.
We looked at a house yesterday, pics were great, house was horrid. Think we have a good agent working for us here. Now seems tuned in to what we want. Told her we are not really looking until we are able to make an offer. We need a serious offer on ours first. Our agent in MI seems to think he will have one for us soon. He has an investor very interested. Show me the money!!!!

Betty I watch the Lip Syncs on You Tube. If you type in Firemen/Police lip sync some will pop up.
Karen I was wondering how this crazy weather was going to affect your trip and visit.
Muggy here and my body says rain.
Betty - it was a group effort by the Wellness Centre ladies, to have the LFLs in our community. The organizer of the Wellness Centre (Una) came up with the idea, asked Bob to make them (rather than $200 each, it cost $250 for three - materials only). After that, I took some books from the library and put them in, but even that was a group effort. One of the residents of our county put more books in, so now one's very full & the other one's almost full.
The cutline below the picture is the article, I guess. We'll be having another ceremony when the Charter signs are put on. I'll do an article then, I suppose.

We most likely will just get rain for a day or two, unless the mountains stop it from coming this way.
Karen, one good thing, if an investor buys your property, they should be willing to let you stay there until you can close on your new property, after you find it. They can collect rent from you as from someone else.
We are still in the 100 degree mark but cooling down at night. My Italian sweet peppers are setting on and they do not set on until it cools off. My tomatoes are coming back but so are the horn worms.
Had a Dr. appointment last week and Vern is down to 117 pounds. All other vitals were good. Still has a good appetite but gets a little snarly. I just go with the flow. That is all you can do.
I do lurk every day but usually do not have much to say. Betty I loved the post of you finding the headstone. And Susan, so pleased about your library boxes. Such a useful idea. Sp pleased you are so happy in your new area.
Hugs, Sharon
Morning all, Sun is starting to come out, much warmer than it has been with a feels like in the 90’s, guess I will have no excuse not to cut grass and cut down spent flowers today lol
Oh Karen just to have all this behind you, know you all will so miss the lake but in the scheme of things so much better for you bothbeing in warmer climate..took me a long time to adjust from living on the lake, so missed the water, guess that is why I have the pond and different water features, the needing to hear water flow, on the positive side, we’ve lived on the lake and it was the best that life could bring..bet you feel same Dianne. You have to wonder what they do to photos to make a place look so much better than it actually is, photo shop right, don’t they know that you will see it when go8ng on house tour?
Sharon, lordy 117lbs is not good but vitals holding their own is great. Now that I’ve been to your home I can just visualize the beauty with fall growth and veggies surrounding you. Still a lot of color in the gardens..tad of yellow in mine but not much else..
Mom’s birthday is the 17and I’m trying to get her cross stitch quilt quilted and border sewn on for her as my gift, best I head downstairs and get some of it done 7ntil grass dries
Did you get the grass cut?
Waving to all - busy day (week) so far.
Dead tired. I have my ergonomic keyboard for work, I intentionally did not schedule many of my assessments this week, too many meetings & other obligations.
Weather is cooling here, still in 70s or more but nights are much cooler. Soon I can stop doing the weeding and mowing will be done!!! Then the Silver Maple tree will make my life miserable with all the falling leaves!!! I like fall BEST, just before the leaves all fall and create twice as much work. ;-(
Pat is there no service company that come with equipment and vacuum all the leaves..with all the trees I have there is no way I could get them all raked up, easier to pay Ray and his staff to do fall and spring clean up, glad you are taking it a tad easierthis week. Weather here about same as yours.
No lindakay, too wet to do right now, can’t till later in the day, at least hoping to do so.
Janice called a bit ago, they think she may have start if shingles, caught it early, on meds and said wasn’t contagious..told her I had the shot, she will call the other 2 to see what they think, if they are concerned I told her to come earlier and we would do project, I miss seeing her so I’d give up cutt8ng grass to have a few hours with her.
Betty, this is from the CDC center.
Shingles is caused by the varicella zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox. ... You can't catch shingles from another person. However, a person who has never had chickenpox (or chickenpox vaccine) could get chickenpox from someone with shingles
https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/vis/vis-statements/shingles.html
Thanks lindakay, she didn’t get back to me yet re coming tonight, if girls didn’t want her to I’m sure she will let me know.
Where is everyone.
Busy sewing.
How are you doing Debbie.
Considering I just broke a molar off, I am doing Ok.
Quite warm and humid here for Sept 14!
it's freezing here - had a killer frost, and Bob is putting yard tools away, picked the last of the beets, and 50% of the carrots. Being root veggies they're ok for now.
Trying to figure out when to plant the garlic I bought the other week. It's Russian Red garlic & supposed to be really good.
Weather's supposed to warm up to 57F / 14c by the end of the month.
Sorry about your tooth. I hope it is not hurting.
Susan, I wish I knew more about planting garlic.
The lady I bought it from (The Garlic Ranch) says she plants it after the Oct Thanksgiving weekend. I just have to be sure I plant it the right way
