Great new susan

Dianne, I remember watching jerry Lewis telethons, he was onall weekend, exhausted by weekend’s end but proud at having raised so much money..

Did head stateside..sharonmessagedmea 6:15 to sayshe could go, by 6:45 I was on the road.. 1 1/2 hr wait atborder going and 1/2hr comingback..spent a fortune, less than 24 hrs you cantbringback without paying duty..lovely young man just said have a nice day

Drove 45minutes withsky lit up like 4th of July and heavy rain..glad I’m home..off for a hot bath and the night night

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you are back home.
Sleep tight.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I just know that I have a heck of time keeping wasps out of anything that resembles a bird house! the ones in Boise were non-aggressive and I left them alone. I could weed right around them. OTHELLO were AWFUL and AGGRESSIVE. I tore down perfectly good cottage stone retaining walls around 2 flower beds to eliminate some of their favorite nesting places.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wasp are horrible.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, light mist with heavier rain later during the day so it’s going to be a play day..

Taking out fall

Just finished coffee so now I’ll head out to back shed and try and find fall totes..know they are mixed up with Halloween so lots of checking to see what is what

How is your day going?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cloudy but still hot here. Supposed to rain tonight and most of next week, so maybe it will bring the temps down too?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

now that you mention it - this is a really bad year for wasps. Wonder how we can wasp-proof the LFLs?
I have to write a little blurb for the ceremony tomorrow - should be a fairly easy thing.
Supposed to be 70% chance of rain tomorrow morning, 1 to 3 mm. Hope it passes us by. It had gone from 70% to 30%, and now back to 70%. Here's hoping it goes back down again, and Mother Nature cuts us some slack lol Would like people to come out to the ceremony. It's also supposed to be fairly breezy.
Bob's going up on the roof today, to finish the shingling :D

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tell him not to overdo susan..here is hopingno rain for your celebratiions!

Met up with Jeff and the boys seeing they leave tomorrow for University and likely won’t see them until Christmas. Jeff was 2 hrs late seeing he had a four hour trip picking them up from camp and wouldn’t you know there was a accident Nd they sat in bumper to bumper while grandma shopped.lol

Caleb and Braedon look a little rough, they've been away doing 52 day kayak portage in the wilds of the North.. haven’t had a decent meal since July so they sure enjoyed their meal.

Jhansi to go to pharmacy while I waited for them, was in mega pain and forgot to bring meds, sad state of affairs when you have to pick something up to get you through a few hours..

Hot bath, rubmysekf down with ointment and just maybe make myself comfy in bed.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Beautiful day until a few minutes ago, rain started. Guys are cooking the weekends catch for dinner. Also have tuna-mac, baked beans, and corn on the cob.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

All of your family seams to stay busy Betty.

Karen, I hope the fish can get cooked before it rains too hard.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - hope you get a good night's rest.
speaking of overdoing (which we're always doing, when we speak Betty's name lol) - went to bed last night with a sore shoulder. Either I strained the muscles, or overdid "something". Bob massaged it (and my calves, which are always tight), and I took something for pain but all it did was make me sleepy & I fell asleep in my chair here lol May have to make a trip to the chiropractor tomorrow afternoon (after the celebration)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks guys, forgot photo of the boys

Drats Karen, does the cooking area have an overhang? You know as much as the kids want what is best for you and your hubby they sure are going to miss the place on the lake once you sell..how is your hubby?

We sure are hard on ourselves aren’t we..boys when they heard I had painted the laundry room reminded me that I should be asking for help, asked them who might have been around to help? No answer lol

Fell asleep on the chesterfield, hope it didn’t scare up the sandman dropping in.

Great picture, Betty!
my goodness but you're tiny, or they're very tall (I'd opt for the "tiny Betty" personally lol)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Those boys are tall. They have grown so much.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

The boys are lucky if they didn't get sick after their first "good meal". They don't looks scruffy to me!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

They had plenty of shelter for cooking the fish and did a great job. Might as well have only fixed the fish and corn as that's all that got eaten. Oh well maybe eat more for lunch tomorrow before hitting the road. They all got so busy earlier today that I even sneaked upstairs for a bit of sewing.
Presentation next week-end. Korean War Veteran.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like they had a great weekend.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I think it was a good weekend. All are reluctant to leave. I can understand, for one thing the traffic will be horrid.
Today is the only day all year the Big Mac is open to walkers. I had always hoped to be able to do it one day but know now that will never happen.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, fall day out there..

I’m sure they’ve had the best weekend ever Karen and although they did all the work you will still need a rest.

so need to cut grass but everyone is still sleeping so I must wait a bit..in the meantime I cleaned and rearranged back porch..got to say I don’t like it so likely by tonight I’ll re arrange to original way it was lol

Been playing downstairs, put up the mirror, new towels, a plant and satisfied it’s the best I can do for now. Tummy is saying I’m hungry so should have something to eat then decide if imback to sewing or waking up neighbors.

Verona, ON

Karen what is the Big Mac ?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Think it’s their bridge??

Turned off air and thinking of turning on heat, not for heat but maybe it will make everything inside less damp.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes sorry. It's the Mackinac Bridge. 5 miles long. Labor day tradition to walk it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

You cross it when you go to Frankenmuth right?

Looked at the calendar, lordy if going to Frankenmuth before bad weather best I look for a weekend.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Few drops of rain, rushed out and got the lawns mowed, no sooner done sun came out Lol

Cucumber sandwhich, put my feet up, bad me, hope I won’t stayed glued to the couch. June dropped in, wants me to make her a couple of wine tote kits, could bring fabric up here and cut, pass the day

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Our skies have been so ugly with smoke from neighboring areas of the country. I miss our blue skies.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Pat - hope the smoke clears up for you. Ours cleared up with the colder weather.
Today was drizzly & windy for the "installation" of the 1st Little Free Libraries. We held the ceremony inside & the attendees were happy we did. The councillor, member of county council, and their wives came as well as a photographer/reporter from the county paper, and the room was full of people milling around. A good time was had by all.
Afterwards, Bob & I went to the hospital to have them look at/x-ray my right shoulder. Thankfully not dislocated, but the tendon was pulled. I was weeding at the community playground and I guess I must have pulled the tendon (ouch). Dr gave me a prescription which we'll fill tomorrow (pharmacy closed on Labour Day).
It's a good day today - lots accomplished, and now it's sunny out lol

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Big Mac is between the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. The one you cross at Port Huron is the Blue Water Bridge. The one at Detroit is the Ambassador Bridge.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning..fall day but muggy!

Susan sorry to hear you are in pain, knowing what the problem is helps...too bad you had rain for your festivities..frost?

Karen, meant the bridge you cross when going to Frankenmuth or would you cross the Bic Mac?

Have the garbage by the roadside, cut out 2 wine tote kits for j7ne, load of wash and it’s just 8a.m.

girls will be here shortly so I’m on a mission to organize the craft room. Tonight is tv bingo with Noah, ebpven if we don’t win it will be a win win evening for me...

Did you all have a nice long weekend? Weather cooperate?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Weather here great, spend time with sis and I am on a mission to clean & organize. I have today off as well since my "day off" was a holiday, I can get a different day. I hope to get lots done.
Did work on the dolls. I have LOTS that need work on their hair before they are done. Not very fast with the hand still healing.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

The only bridge we cross is the Zilwaukee Bridge over the river at Saginaw. It used to be a draw bridge to accommodate freighter traffic. It was rebuilt as a tall long bridge. Kind of scary to cross as part of it broke at one time.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Too funny Pat, you get an extra day off and work much harder than if you were at work.

Yikes Karen, I’d be worried crossing as well..all your little kiddies back to school this morning?

Girls left, always funhaving them here... not sure if weather related but fighting a headache again, planned to do so much but won’t seeing Noah will be here for eats and tv bingo tonight... I will rest for a few hours and hopefully that will cure the head.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

YIKES, THAT would very scary!!! I am a coward, thru & thru!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - we Did get a Frost Advisory last night (are you prophetic?)..... followed by summer-like weather later this week - what's up with that?!?!?!?!

Lyndonville, NY

We have heat warnings all over for tomorrow, over 100 with heat index. Our schools do not have AC so that should be interesting.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is warm for you guys.

Lyndonville, NY

yes it is, and our AC is struggling in upper 80s.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ours Debbie is 106, while we played bingo it stormed, torrential rain, right nownthenwindows are sweating, I’ve a/c at 70, Noah went to get garbage containers at roadside and was drenched, decided to go home as he was shivering..was fun having he and Jessica play bingo with me..drats needed G-60 for the $3,600 game.

Think I’ll call it a night

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So close needing 1 number.

Sleep tight.
