Pacifica, CA

linda kay that is so nice I love it!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, calling for a high of 88 today..a/c is off, love fresh air, imagine by this afternoon I’ll have to put it back on.

Already put in a good day, cut a lot of limbs, can actually see the pond from back porch, mneed to cut 2 fair size trees but need a saw, finish8ng my coffee then I’ll go look for a saw.

Got a call late last night, aunt Muriel’s operation went well, they did not want to give her anesthetic but ended up doing so...fairly large cut where the put a metal rod in then 2 smaller cuts where they did the screws..now for the recovery part.

Suzanne also called to chat, she is homefrom the hospital, they told her she is to see her doctor and have him refer her back to the heart surgeon as they are concerned..told her to rest until she sees her doctor Tuesday.

Big sigh

Was going to cut grass yesterday and realized no gas, was too lazy to go get some, so off I toddled off to get some so now there is no excuse for not cutting it but after work8ng outside last hour it’s so wet, got to wait.

Think the early morning dew is helping my sod, enclosing photo...so nice and lush, think that 28 rolls of sod I got for free will make it..I’m so happy about it.

Must get greg to come over a few times while I’m away to water, looked at extended forecast not many rain days, don’t want to c9me back to dead gardens.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Forgot the photo’s

1. New ornament in back patio area. Lol
2. Lush green grass..my free roles of sod I got last long weekend
3. Brush I cut this morn8ng, now to get it to fire pit..will be glad when we can burn
4. Little angel I got on one of our swaps, watching world go by
5. Flower greg/Mel gave me mothers day, doing well onback porch

Love my early walks 8n thegardens, flow are late and aren’t do8ng well, lots of mild because of humidity..who knows, they may not bloom

Some pretties

yes Linda, I drew your name. it should have an note inside that company enclosed but easy to overlook. I really wanted to make you something but decided ordering and having mailed direct made more sense right.

I see the nurse today. I hope they take cast off and LOOK at it but I know that is not the plan. seems to me I am having more pain and pressure than normal a whole week out.

betty, LOVE new pink furniture pads!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Pat, maybe something went amiss amd it’s good that it’s being checked today..here is hoping you get some answers

No new patio pads, sunshine was beaming in them thus looks like they have a pink tinge to them.

Love the angel you sent lindakay..would be perfect for my garden, know that lindakay posted on the other thread but thought I’d post here for you. Certainly will be a nice addition to your rose garden l8ndakay..how are the roses doing?

Drats, posted sideways..maybe l8ndakay can post a proper photo

That's a beautiful angel, LK - I know it will look great in the garden.
Was this for the garden swap?

Verona, ON

Loved the angel Pat sent you LK.

Extrememly hot here this afternoon. I'm thinking AC time.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the beautiful Angel Pat. I placed her in my roses.

Susan, yes, this is for the garden swap.

Betty, your gardens are beautiful.
well, looks like she is still sideways. I don't know how to turn her.

When I clicked on image lindakay it is straight

Wow Dianne we, I’m with you, ‘tis hot hot hot..82 in here so just put a/c back on

Got my grass cut,and 1/2 the trimming, water just rolling off my body..

Lindakay, I’m amazed the gardens have stood up to all this heat, only phlox will pay the price😪 the flowers I like the most.

Was going to do groceries but decided A leisurely soak in the tub is more to my liking but first I want to wash the lawnmower, gas it up and put it away, then I can relax amd soak without thinking I’ve more to do outside.

Mom said aunt Muriel was having a time of it today, cursing like a trouper, keeps accusing those visiting that they are trying to put her in a home..all know it’s the meds talking but still hurts hearing the terrible things, she says about them..I’ll likely go Sunday after she has had a few days to recover and I still in a room of her own.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

With her having hip surgery, the hospital may put her in a nursing home, temporarily for rehab.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Likelythat is what they will do..that being said they kept m9m in for a month while she had rehab..not sure what they do in the country vs city..she won’t be a happy camper.

All around me lawnmowers, are mowing, guess I did mine earlier before skitters, were, out.

Kept Ziggy in when she came in around 6, she must know that means bedtime..there she is on the bed waiting for me to crawl in lol

I’ll be a few more minutes, need to have a big slice of lemon meringue pie lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, really overcast and rain called for tomorrow and Monday,I’m glad I got my grass cut..just opened windows as there is quite a breeze.

Not much planned for the weekend, think I will go browse the shops in midland see if I can find Liz’s beans, get groceries, always fill refrigerator for mom so she has everything she needs but never understand how I can go away and when I return it’s almost still on in the refrigerator.

Coffee time..

Pacifica, CA

betty lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

almost finished the baby blanket - will be done today

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

RN saw nothing amiss and I went back to work. I can hardly wait for this to heal and move on. I am nervous as my knee and right ankle are really hurting. praying this is not start of series. of body part replacements.

Linda I am glad the Angel was good choice for you. if you decide she too short, give her a "boost" by putting tomato cage under her.

there is sooo much I want to do and it just is not possible, too much chaos, and or pain. . we were without electricity for 11 hours yesterday while electrician started updates including new bigger electrical panel. box.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Pat, it almost seems that way, fix one thing and 2 more go amiss...good news though she doesn’t feel something is wrong..

Liz, did all the boutiques, no go on the beans, had I known earlier I could have had some ordered and sent to me..another time.

It’s a zoo out there, even more so around Martyrs Shrine, they must be having a polish/Italian gathering..hundredsof carsboth way waiting to get in, what a mess.

Not an inch left in refrigerator or both freezers, if mom goes without food it’s not my fault.

Brought a goats beard plant to the nursery for a woman who gabs with me all the time, couldn’t resist, bought 3 gallon perennials, finding I don’t have enough colorso bought vibrant red.

Pacifica, CA

no biggie just happy you and rita coming for visit!

Verona, ON

Goat's Beard... oh no does this woman know what is in her future.? Maybe I had a mutant Goat's Board.

My dinner guests just left - good company good food.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, light rain since early morning, gardens and lawns are lovingit, more to come over the next few days.

Dianne, my goats beard is tall and so adds to the gardens,in fact I moved some over to other locations that I wanted coverage for. If it stops raining before I leave Wednesday I’ll cut it down, flowers are over now.

Bet your visitorswere amazed at the amount of work you got done over past several months..

Just had coffee and a fresh raisin and oatmeal cookie, need to good sew binding inhpgary’s quilt and relax for the rest of the dayhand sewing....in between though need to take breaks so I canvacuum, dust and washthe floors

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

We did stuff for the church today - Minutes for Mission reading, scripture reading, took the collection, greeted at the door & handed out bulletins, made muffins for "hospitality" after service, and counted the # of people who attended Last minute request to do this, but so many of the members are single elderly ladies, and it really does take two to do it.
Sunshiny outside, so am going to go make a pattern on the deck for the tub surround (6" tiles, 4 different colours - navy, light blue, gray, and white)

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

sis and I saw movie "Book club" and it was hilarious

Ben leaves for Boise tomorrow for Aunts funeral and I don't have him packed. EVERYTHING takes me sooooo long one handed

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Going to be another hot day here. They are saying it will be at least 110.

Lyndonville, NY

Oh Linda, be careful in that heat. Do you carry bottle of water with you?

Where is Betty this morning?

Hot and humid here, they say rain most of the week. I hope so, it is so dry.

Waving to all....
Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, 77 with a feel like 88, rained all day yesterday but think it’s now passed us by, hopefully to you Debbie, likely will turn a/c on this afternoon.

Just finishing a few things and getting things in order for mom, thought she was coming today but says not until tomorrow afternoon as she will go see aunt Muriel again in the morning then make her way here.

Says she is seeing some improvement with aunt Muriel so that is good news..must make arrangement with the girls and Greg that should something happen to aunt Muriel while I’m away and mom needs to go home that someone will drop in for Ziggy"..always a worry when you have animals, and want to travel..

Not sure if Suzanne is well enough to go out for supper I barrie tonight for Linda’s 65,should call amd if she is unable to I can change it for when I return home or go alone

Need to get all done today as 7:30 in the morning I have appt to get cars oil change done incase mom needs to use it (hooe not, a lot of dings on hers). Lol
Girls come at 9-1:00, would like to get grass cut and mom comes, she usually wants to go out for supper..said she bought 4 blouses and they need to be taken in on shoulders and would I do so..means several hours of sewing at night.

So many things that can’t get done before leaving until last minute..

Didn’t have breakfast and tummy says it’s hungry so best I eat something

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

MD appt this morning and then a few hours of freedom!!

So much to do and I am so slow... even opening the darn mail is a pain!! I am holding the envelope pinned down with left elbow so I can slit open with right hand. can't get left hand in jean pocket, difficult to snap seat belt if in the passenger seat. having never had a cast before, this has been eye opener.i was in public bathroom and the toilet tissue holder was on my left, thought I would never get tp out!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lol, guess we just don’t realize the issues someface when recouping or on a daily basis. Too bad you are not off while Ben is away then you could find a cot and just take the day off relaxing!

How are you feeling lindakay? Are you still going to your quilt8ng group?

Sun is,out but humid, washed the floors upstairs and they are just not drying.

Checked temps in Vegas area, guess I best prepare for a hot vacation lol

Verona, ON

AC has clicked on already. It's steamy out there.

Kieran and I worked outside for a couple of hours. We were both drenched with sweat. We could have spent more time out there but it is just too hot. He'll be back on Thurs. - earlier if I need him. What a sweet kid !!

Oh Pat I so understand - we do take simple things for granted. I had a colley(?) splint on my right hand for 3 weeks. It's a good thing I can use both hands for most things - I started out a lefty and was made change once I started school. Even then I had problems with the simplest things. How's the pain level .... settled down a bit ? Enjoy your alone time.

LK be careful in that heat.

Susan how did you make out with the tile template?

Be careful Betty that you don't overextend yourself before you even leave.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I took a "10" last night and this morning was the least pain since I began this journey. it will get better. I think it may help Ben seen how much I have been doing for him that he has not recognized because I can't now. can't push wheelchair or load or unload etc.
I should be grateful the dw is still available! tough to wash dishes with a cast!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, it made it too 114 todat, felt like 120. I don't go anywhere when it is that hot.
Yes, I still go to quilting on Wed. And I do carry water with me.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, 77 here this morn8ng with a feels like 86, I’m here at the car dealership getting oil change then home in time for the girls for 9.

Few drops of rain as I set garbage to the roadside bit here inmidlamd weatheris looming, thunderstorms later this afternoon! Clear tomorrow then 4 days of rain..mom won’t be pleased with that.

Omg lindakay, that is hot, leave tomorrowfor a lot of the same..think Death or so, not much different than your weather...hope your sewing group location has a/c

Pat, hope today is a pain free day for you, well almost.

Tragic senseless shooting in Toronto, seems evil is everywhere.

Finishing my timmies coffee and a Dutch I’ve, while eating it Barb came to mind, she so enjoyed Norms morning trip to timmieswhen they were here..think of her often.

Verona, ON

Just heart sick about the mass shooting in our wonderful Toronto. The Danforth/Greek Town was a favourite spot for W and I to walk and eat. On a hot summer evening families are out strolling. Taste of the Danforth is in 2 weeks. The close down part of the street and you wander from vendor to vendor sampling Greek food. It will go on .... how can it not.

It rains lightly for 10 or s0 minutes then stops for a couple of hours. We need rain.

Dawn my cleaning lady is here so I had better get the TH and myself organized so we can stay out of her way.

Stay safe, cool and well.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning all. I just got up. I have not heard the news yet. So sorry to hear about the shooting
. It happens way too much.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I just googled the story, glad to hear they caught him, but so sad he killed two young women and injured so many more.
Sending prayers for all.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Message to my secret garden buddy. I just got notice that the item I tried to order two weeks ago, is no longer available, so I had to order something else. So sorry for the delay.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Ben's daughter Rebecca took Ben to funeral of his Aunt in Boise, short version, she took him back to the hotel, he fell transferring to bed and EMTs are taking him to hospital (because I over-rode his refusal)

my guess is the antibiotic he is taking is not beating the UTI he is being treated for

If they admit him I will likely need to go to Boise tomorrow. I will try update you some time tomorrow or when I get back.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear that Pat. Sending prayers.

Lyndonville, NY

Good thoughts and prayers Pat.

Betty, safe travels on this adventure. Looking forward to pictures and all.

They promised us rain, we get nothing again.

BUT my windshield is replaced and I can drive again! Good heavens!

Sweet dreams all
Debbie

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

You are so right Betty. We are in a high heat warning. Warnings on the TV all day long about heat stroke and water.

I so hope you two have a wonderful visit of the West. You will see some beautiful terrain when you get close to LA. Between Las Vegas and LA, not much to see.

I D mailed you my address just in case you get a chance to stop by.

I would love to travel once in a while but there is no one I can leave Vern and the animals with. And Vern just does not deal well if I am out of the room let alone out of the house.

Linda, you and are having the same temps. It is our monsoon season, so we hve humidity, which we never have.

Betty, how are you liking your haircut.

Betty, have a safe and fun trip and when you get to San Francisco, have some sourdough bread for me.

Hugs to everyone. Sharon
