TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you Debbie & Betty - it's nice to do a blanket that will knit up so quickly & get to mommy & baby soon.

ooooooooooh Betty - those babies are SO cute!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, I too love that blanket you are knitting.
Thanks for the name of the plant Betty. Those puppies are beautiful. So glad to hear all are doing well.
Debbie, I sure hope the dealer can get your car running.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Linda Kay :-)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, here is hoping it’s the final fix, know how you are the road every day, can’t be taking a chance with a car that is not working...did Paul get a new one

Stupid stupid me, I know better than to have deep fried foods. Sick as a dog, in bed, hoping the world will stop and let me off grrr

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh no. You need a big sign, NO FRIED FOODS.
My brother has a bad pancreas, he can't have any fried foods. It will put him in the hospital every time.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - have you tried the Kuraidori air fryer? My neighbour has one, and it's almost fat free - a couple of teaspoonfuls, and it tastes like deep fried, she says. If too much grease if your problem, this may be your answer.

Linda Kay - no fat in his diet At All?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No fried foods. No greasy burgers.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, will hit a high of 80 today, have all my housework done, sod watered and feet up.

Feeling better this morning, just have to remind myself NO going next door for treats..I don’t fry when I cook so that is a good thing.mmhave heard of those fryers Susan, they say the work.

Would be hard for your brother lindakay to stay away from fried foods..know lasttime I ordered burger and fries, sick I was, now again so just have to train myself as to what I can eat or not eat, big sigh

Got the tracking for my quilting frame, might go see what I can do to put new tracks in with a quilt already on frame, we will see

Ohh on the good side, 2 weeks today will be flying to vegas

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hooray - soon you'll be flying to Vegas! If you pass over Alberta - WAVE lol

Electricians have been, and now plumber's here to hook up our jetted tub! We'll be able to have a bath tonight!! Not a shower though, until the aquaboard & tiling's done. That will take a couple of days for the placement, & drying time.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, will be 82with an 88 feel like..rain called for tomorrow, we so could use a light rain..

Passed the living room window and saw a mother and 8racoons coming out of my culvert grrr cute though, by the time I went to get my camera and open the door to take photo’s mom and all but 2 whom got distracted by me wandered off for the day..

Jamie next door said he saw them go into the culvert several times, hoping when they get bigger they will move on to new location.

Managed to get a photo of the laggers

Time to water the gardens and sod, it’s an even number day so get to do all the gardens then sit and relax, have a friend Helene who is stopping by this afternoon to get her quilt binding on..Lordy for her first quilt she sure took on a heavy duty project with all her daughter’s volleyball t shirts, for me I’ll be glad to see the last of it as I’m sure she will be as well.

Where is everyone??

Just lurking! Been busy at work, so not as much time to visit here. Sharon's pups are adorable! Love the blanket you are knitting, Susan. Be sure to post a photo of yours when you're done. I wish I could do things like that, but if I were to start and set it down, the dogs would certainly get into it. I sure love seeing everyone else's handiwork, though.
Deb

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Those raccoons are so cute, but they sure can create havoc. Be careful with them.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I know, taking of going out every night with pots and pans and try to get them to find a new home

Why would they though, restaurant has a green bins for trash, it’s all fenced in, not a problem for them to go for eats..worry they could get into the Foxy Lady, maybe a live trap, hmmm wonder where I can get one

Debbie you’ve so much on your plate between work and dogs it’s not a wonder you don’t have time to post or take on a craft project..your time will come

Some days my posts are so bring, in fact most posts but it’s just nice when you live on your own knowing you have someone to chat with..makes days so much less like you are alone in the world lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Do you have a parks department? Mayb5call the police. They can give you advice.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will try that, Jamie next door says Home Depot has a spray..problem with that is if they can’t get in the culvert where and what damage could they get into..they are so darn cute

I have a watering can i started to pain raccoons on, took it out and will work on it, forget who it was for, must have started it over 10 years ago..now to find same color of paint I used

Victoria Harbour, ON

Still lots to do and Ziggy is bored watching me lol

Betty, the babies are just big enough to climb well, and I am sure she will be moving them out soon. The culvert is cool this time of year with the heat.
You can't trap them yourself, there is no way you would get Mama and the brood into one trap....and they still need Mom. You don't want to separate them. Try and let them have some time and move on. Most likely have been there years and you just now see Mama. If they start getting into your trash.....thats a different story.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I’m hoping so, the guy that does my ditch trimming said he had a live trap but said same, if I did get mom and not babies the babies would die, don’t like that idea so you are right, not in my garbage as they are well fed in restaurant garbage bin so as you say they might move on

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I love that watering can. If you can't remember who it was for, add my name to it, for our next swap! :)

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Came home from town today, to find our friend Dianne had been by & brought a tiny apple tree (about 8" tall). Where to put it?
I got some treasures from a thrift store today, and had some fun in town. I love shopping at thrift shops.

Victoria Harbour, ON

You are too funny lindakay..

Susan, I never seem to get there and the times I do I never find anything..usually I go at Halloween time when I need something to make up for the boys.

Lordy, joanne came at 12:30 no sooner left at 20m that Helene came the at 4:30when she left I ran into town, oh my car was so dirty after carrying 26 or was it 28 rolls of sod that I broke down and washed car, set vacuum on for 4 runs then took Lysol cloths and washed inside..Lordy it needed it..will wait till fall and have it detailed.

Here I sit tired as can be and pain in the neck, work the lightest of sweater jackets and that was enough to set it off.

I had 7 of those watches I bought from Cracker Barrel that I have so many colourful bands for and not one worked, so had batteries put in all of them, no reason to be late now..

Got grass seed in fertilizer and spread it on the sod in hopes the rain they are calling comes to help bring back sod..that area looks so nice with grass, hate to lose it

So now hot bath and pain killer.

Here is a photo of Helen’s quilt, she just needs to hand sew binding and I’m making her a label then done

Helene’s daughter will love her quilt especially as her mommy made it
I’ll not have classes at night now till September when everyone’s schedules get back to normal..

Too bad the little buggers are so darn cute!!! They sure can cause TROUBLE!! LOL

Got the official offers on the house and I accepted, signed and now the formal closing..

Surgery, check in at 2.30 in afternoon, yuk. I prefer morning!! LOL Not nervous (yet?) just want to get on with it and get it DONE … one day closer to healed & less pain I hope. Sure, the after surgery is painful but after recovery of about 6 weeks I should have less pain.. works for me. Hope at the end of the tunnel.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a beautiful quilt.

Good luck with recovery Pat.

Nearest thrift shop is 160 miles from here. When I do stop in, they never have any deals.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hugs Pat, In my thoughts. I'm with you prefer morning, the earlier the better. Seems they get behinder as the day goes on.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, 88with a feel like 94 today..expected rain but they say thunderstorms more towards late evening...hoping not torrential rain.

Pat, you will be in my thoughts and prayers as well..will you be off for any amount of time..doing happy dance re sale of cottage, let’s hope for closing date to be soon. Now if we can get karen’s House sold we will all be doing a jig.

Not sure what to heck I did yesterday but my body aches beyond belief, sciatica pained so much that I got up twice during the night for pain meds..meds still working this morning, let’s hooe I don’t have to take more meds.

Keep looking at the clock, was up in the gardens watering at 5:30, did 2 loads of wash, thought of grandma, Friday she always made sure all bedding was done, I should look to see where I can hang the sheets so I can enjoy country fresh smell tonight..big comforter had to be washed, it’s white and ziggy’s sleeping area was quite dirty lol

Did 3 turns on Gary’s quilt, going to run out of thread, might take a run to barrie this afternoon and see if I can somewhat match it, either I do or it stays on the frame until someone gets to joanns..it’s such a large quilt, not a wonder it’s taking so much thread.

Well, I’ve only to wash the floors and chores are done, best I not sit here too long or I’ll not want to move

Enjoy your day

Praying your pain goes away soon Betty. I know sciatica pain is the pits.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just have to persevere

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, you cleaned and scoured your car in all kinds of positions....put seed down and watered sod.....and been working on that Blue Heron! NO wonder you are sore!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I know, just before I took a run to Barrie I ate rice and chicken that I had left over, Lordy food just isn’t agreeing with me, going to make jello, eat some applesauce and head to bed

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, you might be taking too many pain pills. That will make your tummy upset. I know if I take another vicadin too soon, I will spend the whole day in the bathroom.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Haven’t had any today, took a Tylenol muscle capsul in hopes it helped, likely with what I’ve taken and not much food it’s doing a number on tummy, tomorrow is another day..

Ohh love my different color astilbe that are in bloom

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Those are beautiful.

Lyndonville, NY

That orange really makes it pop LOL

That is pretty!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

We were to have rain yesterday but looks like it was slow moving and here we are with a rain day..

Debbie, that orange color is never very far from me lol

I should make an area just with astilbe as I’ve white, few shades of pink and maroon..would be striking.

Guess with this light rain no need for me to worry about planting the bee balm I bought yesterday, they will get a good watering.

Dianne, is your yard landscaping/construction over?

Ruth how are you doing??

Debbie car working any better?

Pat, how are you after your surgery yesterday? Will you have time off?

Deb I’ll post photo’s of Sharon’s 6 puppies, they almost grow before your eyes.

Karen, when is the special presentation of the quilt?

Likely Susan is relaxing in her new jet tubs lol

Liz if you are lurking, less and less sleeps..ohhh still concerned about my death valley trip lol

Lindakay you know much about the type of heat I’ll find in Death Valley, are your temps a bit lower

My apology if I’ve forgotten anyone

What are you all up to.

Guess soon We will be ohhh’8ng and ahhh’ing at garden treasures
Jeff was suppose to start his week’s vacation kayaking today, maybe he will decide to start tomorrow instead.

Lordy, if it’s not my mom panicking hat I’m at the hospital itsjune and pat, both were checking up last night on my whereabouts..guess I’ll have to make a list to call when I go out more than an hour lol

Relaxing with a coffee, not rushing to do anything

Will work on my cousin gary’s Quilt here and there, still disgusted with my purchase of a spool of thread that I bought yesterday as I ran short and likely this spool won’t do it all that I paid $8 for amd less on sale, here it was $28.60 + 13% tax..highway robbery..really want to quilt off the frame by weekend’s end so bit the bullet and bought it but wasn’t happy.

Cup is empty so that means my break is over, time to get at it

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Presentation of five quilts is today, will post pics later

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I don't know much about the temps in Death valley. But to be on the safe side, make sure you drink plenty of fluids, and don't forget the sunscreen.
This is a 10 day forecast.
