Ooops, sorry, must have posted somewhere within the five days...
Been very busy, with feeling better I’ve been out and about more, yesterday I was up at 5, left for cookstown for a 10am embroidery machine class and didn’t get home till 6..by the time I unpacked, made supper it was bedtime, was too pooped to poop..
Off to breakfast with friends, then to garden gallery even though I cannot buy flowers as yet, Lordy had snow on the ground when I left yesterday morning, hadn’t snowed a lot during the night but none the less it did snow
Enjoyed my day yesterday, great bunch of girls..wouldn’t you know by end of day I was tired, packed up in a hurry and left what I had done in the studio..Linda might go pick it up for me, about 15-20 m8n from where she lives and as she might come Wednesday she said she would try her best, if not well it’s a trip on Saturday.
Braedon is off to Germany for a few months, excited about it..greg and Mel 8n Telladaga Alabama for races, jeff away, Caleb just back from unibpverity, Kyle had surgery Wednesday on his food, Noah busy..that is about it for us, except as of tomorrow I’ll be able to say. Hurrah Joyce and the girls will be here in a few weeks. Lol
Thanks for worrying, I’ll try to post more regularly again
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old/new..we welcome all!!
Glad to hear from you.
What is wrong with Kyle's foot?
Not quite sure what he has, been 3rd operation, not sure what they will have to do next?? Cut off big toe?
I just called and left a msg on your vm Betty lol then came here. Glad you're doing so well, you busy bee, you!
Kyle's maybe having his toe amputated? Hope you're kidding.......... *gentle hugs* to him. I will pray he's ok.
Morning, overcast here but they say it will be 73 this afternoon..
Girls are coming at 8:30 and then it’s outside for a work day for me, yard cleaners coming next week but there is lots I can do..would have been here this week but rain is called for the rest of the week sohoping for next week, yard looks so ugly this time of year.
Have a 4pm perm appointment so mega bust today.
Not sure Susan about Kyle’s tor but after 3 operations it’s questionable.
What are you all up to Today?
Looks like another pretty day for us. Waiting for the other shoe to fall as I know it's too early to really be spring here.
Cloudy here. Weather says rain, but nothing yet. 72 is beautiful weather.
Beautiful here, supposed to get to low 80's, unfortunately, stuck inside at work. I can only admire it through the window!
A couple months ago I signed up to participate in an Alzheimer's study. They were looking for people with Alzheimers or Dementia in the family, but who weren't showing symptoms. My mother was diagnosed with Dementia, and my Aunt, her sister died last year with Alzheimers. It was 3 months of screening, and they were looking for specific things to decide if you could try the study drug. I got kicked out after the first screening, my B12 levels were too low, but I was told, if I can get them up, they will allow me back in the study in 6 months. They gave me copies of all the lab work they did, and sent copies to my doctor. She took one look and told me my homocysteine levels were over double, she said that is an indicator of heart disease, but is a test that insurance generally doesn't pay for, so they don't test for it. I'm on a folic acid supplement now, to correct that, and she ran more blood tests. Just got a call, my MMA level that's supposed to be under 300, is over 1300. Another doctor appointment tomorrow, to see what we're doing with that. I guess it's a good thing I signed up for the study, because these aren't tests that would normally be done, so would have never been found. She did say that the build up of MMA could be the cause of my tiredness and achy muscles and joints. I hope some improvements for me come from all this! I feel like I've just been dragging for the past year or so.
Deb
Oh,wow Deb, just goes to show you we think when they do tests they’ve covered everything but not! That is quite high isn’t it, as you say not a wonder you are tired.
Would have been interesting being in that study, they sure need answers to why..
Gorgeous out there, 74..I probably got over 1/2 the pond emptied, would have kept at it but perm time, needed to bath, clean clothes and off I go
Very good thing you signed up for the study Deb. Hoping they can get you all sorted out now. Being tired all the time is upsetting.
Oh Deb!! SO glad you got those tests done. Those ranges are way too high!
Betty - I really understand that you were not wanting to buy a store of any kind - my goodness lol
Today I found a knitted owl dishcloth & am making one for a friend's birthday. She loves owls.
Morning, sun is so trying to come out but 90% chance of rain so I think now I’ve had my coffee I’ll head out and try and finish emptying the pond so once we have a few days no rain, the muck will be dry and easier for me to work with..just waiting for my yuk clothes dry so I can head out..will see who is first me outside or the rain. Lol
I just bought a new embroidery design of 10 Victorian santas in redwork that I’m itching to try, ask me which I’d rather do
So off to start my day
But would like to hear about yours, those lurk8ng please join in, feel this particular thread is getting redundant
I am here Betty. Reading all but not much to post.
Just feeling bit lost. I did manage to mop and clean kitchen floor yesterday, and
OMG was it bad. I am taking advice from Betty's jar of what to do today. lol
Miss you all....be safe and happy
Debbie
We are feed for the souls Debbie, here for you..have you given any thought about coming when Joyce is here? Big smile on the to do jar. Lol
Still a pumping, doesn’t take much my neck/shoulder pains..think it’s when I balance myself on rocks to het pumps deeper into the water that I tense
Rain still holding off, I just might make it..
I don’t leave this ‘to do’ on mother’s day list because I know my boys they would harp that it’s too much work, fill her in NOT
you would not believe next door neighbors yard, so agitates me so I figure I have 2 options, one go to township, complain and they do nothing other than send8ng him a warning to clean up, then him know8ng I’m complaining a dcteate bad feelings or bite the bullet and have a fence put all along his side of the yard, likely about $5k
Called Andrew who will be coming to do the trenching for water problem to see if he or his brothers do fencing, hasn’t called me back yet
I do try to talk to myself as to not get upset but it’s hard.
Same ole, same ole here. Upstairs sewing.
I'll be having the TN greats here for nearly a month soon so getting done now as much as I can so I can enjoy their visit.

I am here. Just got home from quilting group.
I can't log in on my computer, and it is hard to type on my phone. If
I don't get help from DG to log me in, then I will not be renewing my subscription here.
Omg lindakay, say it isn’t so
Can’t you change your settings, password in preferences?
This message was edited May 2, 2018 3:56 PM
Linda - in some browsers, it saves your password. If you see three dots at the upper right on your browser, click it, then Settings, scroll to the bottom, and click Advanced/Passwords & forms /Manage passwords - wait for it to populate, then find DavesGarden - on the right there should be a little "eye" which you click to "show password"
I hope this helps.
I just finished an Owl dishcloth for our friend Pat - it's her b-day on the 10th. Only took me 1 day to knit! If you can knit/purl/count, you can do this! So easy :-)
Wow Karen !!! Very nice. How honoured people must feel when they receive them. I loved the look on the Nam vet's face when he got his quilt. It was on FB if you all didn't see it. You make my heart smile.
My Iris, deep red poppy and 1 crocus have reared their heads. I am afraid that cold spell we had a couple of weeks ago might have got my rhubarb.
I've got a bee in my bonnet and I want to do some pickled beets. I about fainted when I saw the price of cider vinegar.in the local IGA. Bought some in Ktown for a few $$$'s cheaper. Now I need to find my recipe.
Oh LK I hope you can get things settled with DG. I'd miss you posting.
Sharon your sleep angels are needed.
When I try to log in on the computer, it won't recognize my user name or email. I have sent dmail to admin as well as messages to them on Facebook. No one has replied.
Beautiful quilts Karen.
Hubby and I make a couple of bushels of pickles beets every year. Some we give as gifts but most he eats just about every day. I ask at our local farm market for small beets and in a day or two he calls to let me know he has them for me. I love them but they don't like me at all so I just have a small bite on occasion.
Karen I am the same as your DH ... I love pickled beets. Actually I like beets in any form. As a kid I was a picky eater but loved beets.
My youngest is the same, when he was little he would go help neighbors weed their garden for a beet. He'd come home with red running down his chin & shirt. At the grocery he would beg me to buy spinach and beets.
Morning all, rain day here so I’ll entertain myself, haven’t pick from my ‘to do’jar so that might take up part of the day.
Need to go to town at some point but have to wait for Andrew to come assess the drainage, fencing and cost, he did say he would try to come this morning..I’m figuring all10k...shaking my head!!
Karen those quilts are spectacular..I’m in awe.
Dianne are you getting this rain..when roger was alive he did hundreds of jars of just about everything for cold cellar, one of his favorites was pickled beets, loved them but would gag on cooked beets. Not cheap to do pickling anymore..how is the thundering herd?
Betty, what kind of fence? Chain link or wood privacy? That is a lot of money.
It will be 7’ wood fence lindakay..he has more research to do re drainage, he thinks it’s just a lot of surface water, would make if once he transits the yard if he can get enough fall on back yard to back area, approx 100’ will put drainage pipes, so has to come back and do testing, also recommended building earth around foundation (there would go all my flower gardens grrr
Measured for fencing 120’ of fencing so now I wait for estimate, got to figure out things financially
Wow Betty - that's a lot of fence, and pricy to boot! Awwwww sorry you'd lose your flower gardens! Sorry that the trashy neighbour is causing you all this grief! It's a shame that the city/county won't do anything about them! I remember you posting pictures of their yard - such a MESS. Well, lose your flowers & the mess, or continue to look at what is essentially messy flowers - ewwwwwww You can always replant a new flower garden - AND paint the fence with flowers until your planted ones come up. I plan on painting my garden fence. In fact, now's the perfect time, before we plant our veggies........
Do you need to do the entire 120' to hide their mess, or can you get by with less? If the drainage pipes and building up the ground around your foundation could help remedy the water problem, it would be worth it for the peace of mind to know you won't have to worry so much about water in your basement.
Deb really it’s all a guessing game for Andrew, he just thinks being at bottom of hill and water table who knows if it would be a fix
Yep entire 120 ft..
Going out to take photos
Good grief, Betty!!!! I'd thought they'd cleaned it up, but obviously not.
I hope their kids don't play in that. I figure they have kids, because there's a swing set & bikes....... It's a hazard for young kids. What a mess for you to have to look at.
It’s so bad they kids don’t use back yard, use front yard which is about same
I try not to look out there, maybe next year have to extend fencing to driveway side on their side.
Here's what I learned today, about joining 2 pieces of knitting, without creating a bulk seam! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTieMhLuSw8&feature=youtu.be
Such a shame, Betty, that they're raising their kids to accept living in such a mess.
Wow! That is a lot of trash.
I would call the city again.
Hiya .. just a comment re fencing etc. Make sure you stay within the by laws re height .. Lorna has landscaped in the Barrie area and says it's quite 'marshy', but, they are anal about licences to dig and build.
Greening up here bigtime, have had my first sunburn !!! Lorna starts back to work on Monday ..
Stay well
~M~
OMG Betty !!! Have you called the township or town about this ? Now I am a big believer in fences but I have always had dogs. At least if it was wood that would block the mess. M is right about checking on the height requirement.
Mama robin and I have been having a tiff this week. It happens every year ..... you would think she would learn after a few years of me taking her nest down as she builds it. The nest she is trying to build is on top of a motion light right where I need it the most.
Morning all, rainy day here so will play this morning and go to town later for groceries so I have a free weekend, that being said will have company tomorrow, linda might come to finish her bag and Rita will drop in on her way north to make definite plans for our Roadtrip 2018, only the 2of us this year..on her bucket list is Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and California..four of us who normally take the trip had agreed on another Canadian destination but seeing it’s the 2 of us we will see.
Andrew who is construction and aware of reels/regulations says we can go 7’ without permit, there is already a wire fence al9ng property as it is, some fallen down, we will be staying this side of that fence, well into my property line. Not marshy here, I fact Andrew says end of lot is rock, will have trouble getting pokes dug and cemented in but if he has problem, means about 20 that wouldn’t get done back there.
“M” you are further weather wise than I, can see buds on the trees but won’t be seeing leaves for awhile..went back to last year’s posts and we had leaves on the trees on Mother’s Day,won’t this year for sure! Shed a tear as I read posts, Barb was posting often, worried about Norms health, so miss her, big sigh..
How is Lorna? Good visit with her mom?
Lindakay, any news in dg and signing in?
Lordy Dianne, you have robins, haven’t seen a one yet, you really feel like it’s spr8ng once robins arrive.
Well, coffee needs to be warmed up, gab later
