This afternoon someone was using Jamie’s kaboda and pushing snow/ice/slush over my side to corner of house..I politely asked him to move it somewhere else which he did somewhat..guess he told Jamie when Jamie got home and he came over, he said he thought if he removed snow about 3 ft from two corners of the house it might help me so over he came..I went to pizza palace and got a gift certificate for him as he would take money..will get him a few pizzas for a treat.
Anything that can be done will be a help
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old/new..we welcome all!!
I didn't want the rag die for my self. Jessica makes each new baby a rag quilt and I thought it would be so much easier with the die. All the fringe cuts are on the die.
Betty - nice of him to man-up and get the snow moved, and nice of you to get him gift certs - works all around :-)
Sorry, when I saw the bag of yarn, then you mentioned wool, I mixed the two up lol
Bbmorning all, overcast today, rain tomorrow but it’s calling for 50,s next week, here is hoping.
Did my jar to do but wasn’t expect8ng to have to pick up mega chards of glass..had a fluorescent light bulb out, silly me, thought I could change it, kaboom, glass all over so had another chore to do. Will go down after coffee and wash the floor incase there is a sliver of glass somewhere.
Susan, wool in bag was for necklace, wool I’m going out Saturday is for penny rugs, mthat is bought by yardage unless of course one can find odd bits of clothing that are wool then they can be cut up..go8ng shopping with joanne Saturday and have lunch out..need to get to cookstown for the final block on solstice quilt, not sure what the hurry is seeing I didn’t do the last one, forest and birdhouse.
Isn’t it wonderful that Jessica has taken up sewing, you must be thrilled.
I thought if I did a class with the young one day I too could get the making small raf quilts to learn straight sewing..not sure if that will ever happen but here is hoping.
Better go wash the floor, Ziggy was rolling in it so goodness knows how much is in his fur, must check that as well
Be careful with the broken glass.
Where is everyone?
Had a showing this morning, finished backings and packaged quilts to send to long armer. Post Office then other running. back home fix dinner. That's it pooped.
Morning, sun is shinning, high of 46 and in the 50’s all week, won’t that be something..
Got my housework done and going out with friends for the day, twice in a week, have some friend time because when the nice weather comes I’ll be outside cleaning the yard.
Hoping Canadian tire has stock re pergola so I can buy one and have it put together for when the boys come on Mother Day for my outside to do list, love it when they come and get things done.
Yesterday I spent the day taking winter covering off the back deck, nice to look outside and actually see the yard even if it is covered in snow and dream of my pretties soon to come out.
Karen here is hoping something comes of your showing, what feeling did you get..do you have to pay for the quilting, forget what you said before, old age. Lol
Also got my spring quilt on the frame, wpquilted a few rows, if I weren’t going out today maybe I’d have finished it..tomorrow’s another day,
Well my jarto do says I mypust go dust rec room before I can go out 😂
so off I go
Enjoy your day
Good luck with the showing Karen.
Beautiful quilt Betty.
Wish I had half your energy.
Person spent a lot of time here and asked many questions. I like that she is also a bird feeder as I do worry if someone will keep their fat little tummies full.
Betty the quilts I do for QOV don't cost me for the long arming, I send the top and a prepared backing. She provides the batting and of course the work. Long armers are volunteers the same as me. I do always send enough for return postage. People sometimes don't understand what a bargain we are getting.
Ones I make for myself, I pay a local person to do for me, so I'm well aware of what it costs to have the work done.
The sun is shining !!!! Woo hoo !!!
Listening to some blues and I can't remember the gal who lived near Baton Rouge and introduced me to 'Our Joe" as we called it. Who remembers her name ? Was it Jean?
Painters are making progress and I love the colour I chose. I'm paying them by the job. They are doing a lot of extra work - everything is put back clean, no stove or lane dust on it. I've been able to purge some books along the way too.
My sweet little Sassy has the beginnings of kidney failure. She has a horrible infection so is on meds for that. Duke started his Prozac on Thurs. Not sure yet how I feel about it.
Sure hope the 'looker' is a buyer Karen.
What's everybody up to ?
Marching band quilt is ready to be long armed. YAY
Just back from a day of shopping, Lordy these trips tire me out..
Dianne she was from BatonRougea d hername was Mary..sorry to hear about Sassy..excited for you having the painting done, like having a new house right?
Our weather was spectacular today, no jacket, still mega snow as likely the ice covering it will take some time to melt, ok with me as melting slowly will take less chance of flooding.
Thought that was the case Karen, lucky indeed re QOV being quilted for you.
Again I ate a lunch and tummy churning, just have to learn I cannot eat a regular size meal, big sigh
Going to have a bath, went to sally Anns and bought a pair of wool pants, need to cut them up and wash in boiling water for my penny rugs..did buy yardage, wowat $24.99 I will be buying minimal amounts..think I came home with 4-5 different colors.
No it isn't Mary ... I know that for sure. I'm trying to remember her DH name. I think it was something abut a moon howling. Pretty sure now that I think back her name was Jean. Once Cubits started she left DG.
The TH have slept all day. Having the painters here is very stressful for them. They finally ate a whole meal today They have just picked at their food the last few days.
Got a call just after my last post, Lois my girlfriend who just died, well her husband died this afternoon.
Awe, sorry to hear about your friends hubby passing. Sending prayers.
Dianne, you are thinking of Jean. Themoonhowl.
That’s the DG name I was trying to remember after Dianne mentioned it!
No can sleep, been watching tv all night. Grrr
Morning all. Sun is shining.
That's it LK. Jean is the person who loves the blue and Delta sound too.
Painters are probably coming today so I picked up things that will be in their way.
So sorry for the loss of your friend Betty.
Hope you all have a super weather day.
All my rush rush is out of my hands for now. I can get to the semi rush, I need to have several tops done before June 1st. It's only the tops to be sent to the group, not finished quilts so easy to do. Hubby is building a display rack for the Band quilt. I have a feeling this might become an annual event so we will reuse rack.
How wonderful Karen your hunny is able to join in and help. Know all about the rough rush lol
I did some quilting on my quilt, I’m in pain due to hop so I decided to come rest, broughtup cricut machine to relearn how to use it until it warms up outside, wind is really cold, did the walk around, pondis melting, likely by mid week I can get it cleaned out and up and running, love hearing the sound of watertrickling down the rocks and the spray.
Looked at sales for lawnm9wers this morning..know it wouldn’t cost a lot to get mine up and running, will see if mine starts and decide then if I want to buy a new one..normally around mother’s day/Father’s Day there are special sales on them.
Well, best I read the cricut manual

I re-learned how to do a double knit headband.
I had made 2 for a Christmas gift for our Red Hatter's group, and the recipient said it was too narrow. I re-did one, and now it may be too wide LOL Ah well, better too wide than too narrow, eh?
What a sunshine day, suppose to be about 58 today, I’m off to foodland for a few things then might even work out in the yard a bit..do want to finish quilting the garden quil as well so what to do what to do. Lol
Guess I should pick my jar to do and that will decide how much time I have left to fill with one or the other or both..
Sooo nice to see the suns shinning through
going to the 1st ever coffee time over at our Senior's centre (Silver Willows) this morning. Haven't had our coffee yet, waiting for theirs lol
We have a building to use & it's been underutilized. Looking forward to more use of it - ie: shuffleboard, pool, other games of cards other than cribbage Wed afternoon. Crib, monthly meetings, and rentals is all it's used for.
Enjoy Susan..
Puddling around, worked outside for a tad, Lordy Lordy the sun feels good, see that grass is getting green, after that snow and ice I thought it would take forever..placed patio sets out, not cushions yet, picked up garbage tags for 5 additional bags for curb tomorrow, already filled 3 should have bought more..
Had my new 15’ umbrella in back shed, that was a mistake..have about six little holes the suckers ate into..looking for similar color, will make floral cut outs and see if I can applique, that will leave needles marks so not sure if it would be better to glue them on...big sigh
I think that Gorilla glue is pretty tough stuff.
Forgot I had that Karen..now to find where I put it lol
I like E6000
sad that it's a brand new umbrella!
Afternoon, overcast here, feel the dampness..
Susan sorry I didn’t call back, greg and Mel had supper and then we watched news on the mass killing by vehicle in Toronto last yesterday, once they left I was ready for bed..
The girls just left, now I’m off to town
Before you know it we will be mid week
So sad anout the accident in Toronto.
Sending prayers for all the families.
it's ok, Betty - I hadn't heard about the mass killing - how awful! Guaranteed to keep your attention. Prayers for all concerned. SMH....
it's supposed to be 23c / 73F on Saturday! Seems the temp goes down in the evening, then back up close to midnight - weird. It was 8c at 8pm, and now it's 11c at midnight..... not complaining though!
Morning all, rain for next 3 days, then Monday we have 3 days in the 70’s, for sure they will be outdoor work days. So like you susan, I’m a happy camper, nice to feel the suns warmth.
Linda and a dpfew girls come today to make a bag, they no sooner leave that the girls who sew Wednesday nights will be here, I so enjoy it but must remember to do some resting in between.
Hooe weather is ok in your neighborhood and you get to enjoy sunsh8ne..lindakay if we are getting in the high 50’s today must be a scorcher for you.
We have rain today. Only 65 right now. It feels good.
We were supposed to get rain but none yet. Watching out the window, we have a rabbit who hangs around so we put out a leaf of romaine for him, LOL such a softy.
Quilting is done on marching band quilt. going to go pick it up in a bit, Anxious to see it.
We don't have rain, but all the low-lying snow is melting and caused an Overland Flood warning, and now an Alert. Farmers' fields are flooded & the town near us has its golf course & club house flooded. Several roads are closed due to water over them. Luckily for us, we don't have a basement & we're fairly high up.
Temps are in the mid-60's to low 70's this week, and we have sunshine. Still have some snow, but it's going, and our neighbour's frozen pipes are thawing. We used to see two pillars of ice underneath her place, and now Bob's managed to chop off the upper pillar of one,and the other pillar is melted. She'll be back May 24th, so it will all be settled by then.
Wow. I imagine that is creating a mess for everyone.
There's certainly a lot of water in the fields. With the promise of a dry summer, I'm guessing that this water is a good/bad thing.
I was just out front, de-thatching the front yard, while Bob was using an ice-chipper on the front yard, closer to our home lol The violas are starting to bloom, and the yarrow (in a pot) is growing!
Bob's getting some "side jobs" - one lady needs him to replace her outside door threshold (rotting), and fix her kitchen cabinets; our neighbour wants him to fix their deck roof (last summer's hail storm punched holes in the poly ribbed roof so they're getting rained on) and their wobbly deck (made by a neighbour who didn't put it together well); and of course I have our "honey do" list of things that have to be done here. We just noticed that one of our bow window panes is cracked right across, near the bottom. No wonder we were getting drafts. He's taking the 5 windows out, closing in the wall where one on each end is, and putting in a picture window, when we get the inheritance in Aug/Sept. There's no water coming in, so it's not severe.
He got his hearing aids today - both ears - paid for by Senior's Benefit. We're hoping that it's going to take care of his tinnitus.
I'm getting lots of walking in - the weather is gorgeous. 19c right now, so it's "cooler" than it was. Very sunny & warm. We had our new property managers over for coffee on our back deck.
Betty, where are you?
yeah, 5 days since she's posted - hope she hasn't overdone anything.......
