That is an awesome box of goodies!

*Gentle Hugs* for Barb & LK's Rory......... scary things to go through.
Betty - here's my first attempt at decorating a gingerbread house. I cheated and bought the kit, but the decorating (putting together) is no easy feat! While I was trying to put the walls together, I got a knock at the door. Needless to say, my house fell apart several times before the icing hardened & held lol
Thinking about Barb, hope she is going ok
Debbie, you getting the storm we are??
No can sleep..
Beautiful house Susan.
Still saying prayers for Barb.
Betty, I hope you went back to bed.
Hmmm didn’t see your post debbie when I posted earlier, maybe half asleep
Talk about a box, Dianne sure knows your likes debbie..know you will especially treasure the stained glass chicken, adorable.
You’ve convinced me Susan , maybe I’ll try my hand at a gingerbread house next year. You did well and it was your first, great!
Had a good amount of snow last night, Andrew hasn’t been here to plow as yet but I don’t have to go out until 11for the funeral so he has plenty of time.
Keeping Barb in my prayers..
Judy and Liz sent me socks just like the ones I sent Debbie. Over the year I scoured any store I could find for duplicates. I loved them. My feet are always a mess so the Spa socks were wonderful. The heated socks were heaven !
I'll be back later. Debbie I am so glad your Santa Warren parcel arrived. I was getting worried it wouldn't get there in time.
Sun is out ! Garbage day so I had better get a hustle on.
Dianne and her TH
Betty we have nothing here but wind. Snow is all but gone.
Dianne Shane eyed the hot socks....he was a little too excited. Lol. Didnt get up in time for pancakes but will Saturday or Christmas morn.
Susan i have attempted Ginger house several times. Finally used cardboard as a foundation....but not as pretty as yours. Good job.
Waving to all
Hugs and prayers for Barb and Norm
And Rory
Darn was hoping to hear if Barb was doing better.
If we haven't heard from Barb by the time I get home this afternoon I will get in touch with her
Meeting up with our friend Frank for lunch. He teaches in Egypt now. He is a retired principal here in Ontario but his partner came to teaching late so needs to build up some pension time.
I found the socks in this little old store in another village where I found the Snap. It is a drug store only now with a small gift area. When we moved down here it was a furniture store as well as a Rx store.. The year before it ceased being a furniture /Rx/funeral home. That was very common years ago.
Need to go do battle with the soles of my feet.
Dianne
Dianne - have you heard anything about Barb?
Thanks for the thoughts on my first gingerbread house. I got a cardboard base, on top of which is the gingerbread base that I put the house on. Everything, including both bases, were in the pkg. I've seen them in cost everywhere from $7 to $13 for the same kit.
Tonight I found & bought a Yule Log. It's your standard size, for $2.50! Certainly cheaper in supplies & time than my making one!! So......... I bought it lol
I made some cornbread, to attempt a cornbread dressing again. I did one in August, and it was rather "sloppy", so this time I found a recipe that gave both the cornbread and the dressing recipes so the amounts will be fine. Hope it turns out this time.
Haven't heard from Barb yet. I sent her PM.I will call her later today if we don't here from her.
Yesterday got a little screwed up and it was late before I had a moment to sit. My friend that was supposed to be here at noon arrived after 3 pm.Didn't call to let me know. I was more than a little peeved. The whole day was topsy turvey and I am paying the price for it this morning.A doozy of a headache setting in. Still need to get into Ktown for the Escape's e test.
Stay safe, warm and well
Dianne and her TH
Morning all, bad weather called for later today, it’s ok, still in Jammies and likely not get out of them..
After funeral we, my dpfamily, went to visit uncle Allan, well I no sooner got there had to leave, so nauseated, the minute I eat solid foods so guess I’ll stick to soup, jello and puddings. Hated to cancel last night if sewing but had to...
This morning I’m on a mission, somehow I’m going to put mom’s cross stitch on the frame
Hope we are able to getnews on barb ..
You had quite the day Dianne, not a wonder you’ve a headache.

Whats going on? Where is everyone?
Any updates on Barb? And Betty, are you ok?
I am here, just getting ready for Christmas.
Headache was so bad I didn't get Barb called. Will call her after I get back home this morning. Need to go into the village to get Duke's meds. The Rx is not open tomorrow.
Snowing here like crazy. I want to get out before the freezing rain begins.
Stay safe, warm and well
Dianne and her TH
Checking in .. as always at this time of year, I am up to my elbows in aligators .. as ALWAYS at this time of year, I coddle myself into thinking I am DONE, when, in reality, I am NOT .. it's just wee bits and bobs, but, as Lorna has blood work today, I can slip into a store nearby and purchase what I need ..
Prayers for Barb, Betty, Dianne and Debbie .. hope you all feel a bit better.
Gord had a cortisone shot to his L knee yesterday, says the knee feels better .. surgery in April.
Expecting a polar vortex to start Christmas Eve .. temps will plummet to -32F and stay there for a few days, uggggggg .. the woodstove will be eating up the birch.
If I don't get back on .. I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Joyous and healthy new year :-)
~M~
Sure hope you get rid of that headache Dianne.
"M", sounds like you are busy like the rest of us, no rest for the wicked as they say.
One kingsize quilt done, one more to quilt... at least you can see half of it. It is on the fence when I showed it to my neighbor last night. She loved it and told me to sell them. She knew several that would pay $100.00 for it. So I proceeded to tell her how much I had into it just for fabric, not to mention the 2 weeks it took me to make it. I think her jaw is still on the ground.
Morning, snow day here, kids are starting Christmas holidays one day early..was going to go into town but unless it stops it will have to be tomorrow.
Look forward to news on Barb but also important is you don’t overdo Dianne..if weather in your neighbourhood is like mine, stay in,be safe.
“M”will Gords operation be down here or in Thunderbay? How is Lorna doing..and yes, we think we are done and not..I’ve a list a mile long I want to do.
Quilt is outstanding lindakay, do you think you will have second one done on time?
Jeff let me know he and his boys will be here Christmas Eve and stay over till Christmas morning, hoping greg and his family can join us..thinking of cooking turkey so Jeff can take Christmas dinner home with him as the boys will be at their moms for supper, I’ll be going to greg’s For supper but I love having leftovers so won’t hurt to cook meal.. but I will order Chinese for who is here Christmas Eve, must remember to do that today.
Working on my mom’s cross stitch quilt, she wants it for her neighbor who is so good to her so I’ll get it done and she will just have to wait till the day after Boxing Day when I take mom to Buffalo to get it.
Shouldn’t sit, big smile, Ziggy is comfy, layingon my hand andim tempted just to snuggle under Christmas blankie
Ziggy knows you don't feel well and is holding you down, doctors orders.
I am having coffee with you this morning in my "Don't get your Tinsel in a Tangle" mug. I had coffee last night in my mug for Dianne......so you are all with me always.
On a not so fun note, I got the news. I am officially diabetic. Not a "pre" any more.
I have to call and join a new program they have and see what is next. Doc said no meds yet.
Dang it Deb. A customer just got the same news yesterday! Hit her hard! As I am sure it did you also. Hugs.
Darn I was hoping to hear news of Barb. I'm getting worried with no news for so long.
Linda that quilt is beautiful. Amazing that people have no clue as to the value of the work in them. $500. would still be too cheap.
Sorry about the diagnosis Deb. I've been there since 1995. I'm now at the point when it's not well controlled by meds I've been on. Dr. thinks I will have to go to insulin. Be good and follow orders, it's the biggest cause of heart attacks. I know I've had 5.
Yes Vicki, it hit me really hard. I am just numb.
Sorry to hear your are diabetic, watch the food you eat.
Yes Betty, I will get the 2nd quilt done, our Christmas is not till the 28th, so I have a few extra days.
OK I have sent emails, DMs. PMs to Barb and no response. When I called I was told this number is no longer in service. I will keep checking in but my headache has just gone through the roof so I will soon lay down for a bit.
LK people have NO idea how much an artisan puts into a piece they are doing. I was once crocheting a fisherman sweater for Warren which was a lot of work and someone said she would give me $25 for it. She was quite indignant when I laughed and said you are nowhere near what this sweater is worth.
I'll let you know when I hear something from Barb.
Dianne
Afternoon, so excited to see Vicki post, hope youvisit often...
Debbie, you thought that might be the case but it’s not till your are officially told that it hits home..a.m. sure if you do what doc says you will be ok.
Mega work ahead of you lindakay..how t(rilled they will be
Dianne, worry about you, am sure that norm will post or call when he can ..
Judy called to gab, few cousins from out of town who were up for the funeral dropped 8n so I couldn’t talk, said I’d call her back tonight butno can do..
Went and did groceries then dropped into Walmart for a few things, a man who must have been playing beat the clock ran into me with his cart, no sorry, no checking to see if I was ok..bad side, nothing broken but paining to beat the devil so going for hot bath with Epson salts, pain meds and to bed..if anyone is chatting with her can you let her know
Night night
Oh Betty, I hate shoppers like that. One time a young man came around the corner in walmart, and rammed into me, and he had the nerve to tell me to be more care. I looked at him, and asked if he drives his car like that!
I will send Judy a message for you.
Finally have news from Barb. It suddenly dawned on me I was calling her old phone number. Anyway she is in hospital and probably will be for a bit. She definitely won't be home for Christmas. The docs want her to stay in hospital until they have everything under control. She says to tell you things are improving. I told her we were all worried about her and were praying for her. The connection was really poor - probably from my end as we are getting that freezing rain. My phone line as well as my hydro line cross over a creek south of me so often they act up during storms.
Dave the plow guy came through about 8 pm last night doing his usual great job. I laid down in my clothes as I knew he would be here at some point and I wanted to pay him. I am the only one who pays him as he does it so he is always glad to see me. He'll probably have to sand today. I'm not budging.
Productive morning - got the ashes out of the wood stove and outside, lit a fire, washed the floors and cleaned the kitchen now I think I will sit and read for a bit.
Betty I hope you are not out in this weather as CITY TV shows you are getting what I am.
It's just not Christmas that people are aggressive with their grocery carts. I can't believe how many charge around the store careening around corners and barreling into end displays. I saw 1 woman knock a whole display of canned veggies and she kept on going not even stopping to say sorry or help pick it up.
Feel better now I've heard from Barb. I will call her again Christmas Day. Norm is at work today and by the sounds of her she really needs some rest.
Karen you are on the move today right ?
Stay safe, warm and well !
Dianne and her TH

Thanks for the update on Barb. Sorry to hear she is spending Christmas in the hospital.
Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.
Great news Dianne, well kind of, with herbeing in hospital we know she is on road to recovery..a, sure she is not thrilled about having to be there Christmas but understands it’s for her own well-being. Thanks for keeping us updated.
Same here Dianne, almost a freezing rain, staying put..
Moving slowly today, just thankful no broken bones..been up some time, put a turkey in oven, didn’t need to cook it but want leftovers , so this turkey is all leftovers lol
Need a nap so off I go
Thank you for the update on Barb - sorry to hear she's in hospital, but Betty's right - she's in the right place and recovering. Sorry to hear she won't be home for Christmas though.
Betty - that fellow (won't say gentleman) who hit you with the cart should have been taught some manners, but obviously not. Enjoy your Epsom Salt bath - it'll help, I'm sure
We have one more guest for Christmas. Our new neighbour, Carol, is alone for Christmas otherwise, so we've invited her over and she'll be able to get to know Pat & Glenn and Bob & I (all neighbours), so it's a good thing.
Our weather is going to get cold over Christmas week. Hope that doesn't mean that our guests from Edmonton (4 hr drive) won't come. I do hope that cold alone won't deter them. It'll be cold, but no snow expected.
So glad you were able to get through for an update on Barb, Dianne.
Still trying to finish up shopping, I think I'm done, but keep thinking of little things i wanted to pick up. Tomorrow morning going out to breakfast with my son and granddaughter. Then it will be home to finish up wrapping, evening at the nursing home visiting my 93 year old aunt. Christmas morning, back out to my son's to open gifts early in the morning, then I head up to Wisconsin to my brothers place for the rest of the day. My daughter will go to my son's, too, then to her in-laws for a Christmas breakfast, before heading to Wisconsin. It will be a busy two days, but it will be nice. I grew up running from one house to another visiting when I was a kid, so unless I'm running somewhere, it doesn't quite feel like Christmas!
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas.
Deb
Morning all, merry Christmas Eve day..am sure everyone is busy busy..
Does sound Deb like you will be flitting here and there but taking time to enjoy, thoughts are with your daughter, am sure she is having a difficult time of it.
Hope today is a good day for Barb..
Susan, king of you to invite those on their own, am sure she appreciates it.
Stormy out there, plow just went by so means Andrew will soon be here to do my drive, likely have to come back later though, had so hoped no snow for the next few days so all would be able to safely drive as they visit family. But storm warning issued..if it’s still bad this afternoon I’ll tell Jeff and the boys not to take the road, just not worth it. Hope weather ok in your neighbourhood.
Couldn’t sleep last night so got up at 3:30
Pies are cooking, now to make Ruby’s applesauce cake..turkey I cooked to have snack eats is carved, dressing sand turnip with carrot ever so yummy..just need to make gravy and have eats any time I want a snack.
Hope it’s not too stormy for Chinese pick up at 6
Going for tea to a neighbors this morning, Best I take time to do my hair and get dressed
Just got amazingly wonderful PM . Barb is HOME!!!! They have had a hectic week so are sure glad to nestle up in their home. Woo hoo
Snow finally stopped and the plow driver has been through. but will have to come back and tidy up. So now I need to shovel. I just might let Chaos snow plow in spots.
I am still not venturing out the lane though as more snow is called for.
Woke up to a freezing house and my brain kicked in ..... I must teach Duke to close the door after he opens it to come in. I fell asleep - took my Rx sleeping pill in hopes it would help my headache. The TH were out and I didn't hear them come in. Stoked up the fire at 5 am and that really warmed things up.
Safe travels to all who are on the road or have loved ones doing so.
Dianne and her TH
That is awesome news, that Barb is home. Praise God!
Please be careful, if you have to drive anywhere.
Wonderful news, even if she must stay quiet, in bed at least she gets to be in her own home and with Norm..blessed be The Lord!
Doesn’t take long Dianne I bet to get the house toasty with the wood fire.
I am finished everything, even vacuuming and washing floors..still in my Jammie’s and likely I’ll not get out of them till around 4:00..still in pain from my grocery cart encounter..some not so nice names for that man.
Nice not to have to rush about, imagine having an afternoon nap on Christmas Eve day..lol
Good morning,
So so so so so happy Barb is home! My Christmas wish came true!!!
DH is off having breakfast with "his family" and I am home. This is exactly why I said NO...when asked to make them Christmas dinner. I have learned to chose my battles, and they can have their "family" do it.
More storms moving in tonight they say.....I think Betty sending them.
Although I can't eat it, making some cookies and rolls for tomorrow.
Betty, I did put the little 2 1/2 foot tree up, couldn't find my tree skirt so have the beautiful table topper you made me under the tree. I just love it!!
Took a little walk last night down town thru the trees. Here are a couple pictures.
More on my FB if you want to see.
Merry Christmas everyone.....be safe, be healthy and know you are all in my family
so thought I’d drop in just in case I don’t make it back later to wish you a merry Christmas Eve..
Have a good time Betty, watch what you eat.
Yes, I'm home!!!! I'm totally wiped out and have a lot of choices to make over the next few days and weeks. I guess I have colitis. Not a fun one for sure. I love to eat and everything I like is on the n0-no list. But we will work it out. I won't be posting much as it just exhausts me to sit up for any length of time. But please know I so appreciate all your love and concern. You all mean so much to me.
Have a wonderful Christmas, each and every one of you and know I love you......
PS Deb you really outdid yourself. I love it all and will post a photo when I've a bit more energy.
