Best/Worse/What did I Learn today, visit with friends old/new..join in all welcome!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, mid 30's here this morning, rain starting early afternoon. Furnace went out again last night so must get someone in,likely a friend of Greg's who is inthe business.

Landscapers were here yesterday, yard looks wonderful but from somewhere, somehow I found garbage cans in the ditch, big sigh, guess I have to pick it up, about six cans one into each other,if I have to pick it up I'll store them and send them to the dump and let the owner buy new ones grrrr

Yes lindakay, got an email from the lady they were going to and she was so excited, justwhat she needed.

Sharon was going to come today with mom but her back is out so she won't be coming. I'll spend the day finishing the craft projects for workshopbext weekend, get that out of the way.

i brought my quilter to barrie yesterday owner of the shop who is also trained on repairs looked at it,did some adjustment and hoped it would work, still skipping stitches, will send it with greg Monday to have her repairman look at it.

She had a trade in on a janome, similar to my quilter, wide thread, straight stitching and wants $700 for it, almost tempted vs them trying to find circuit board for my janome 9000..will wait and see what they come up with re the repairs

Other than that not much going on..

Sure hope you can get your furnace and sewing machines going soon.

Full moon plus deer season opens Mon at dawn. it is bedlam in the woods right now. Duke will need an added Elavil starting now for a few days. Not sure if someone will be hunting here. We used to let 1 group in to hunt just to keep the deer population from over adding to their pack. Rummaged in a closet and found the bright orange tape to but around the TH's collars. Here people hunt to feed their families not just for the trill of the hunt. There is a list at the Police station with the names of people who would take a deer that was killed on the roads.

Duke is announcing to the world that the TH's kingdom is up and fully awake. Sharon's sleep angels are on their bypass my house right now. Hoping tomorrow I will get a few hours more sleep.

I am so glad to go back and review this post - I don't usually do that. Anyway the bright orange tape that I found was going on DH's collar not the TH's.

Stay safe and well everyone.

LAST CALL OUT FOR SANTA WARREN's CHRISTMAS EXCHANGE !!! Sunday is it, hope you can join in...Maybe with the help of the TH Dianne you could provide us with names mid week as time is starting to be at a premium...

Warren enjoyed hunting? It's times like these that memories come flooding back.
I'm too much in town to get hunters thankfully. Think Sharon is keeping the sleep Angel's her way, can't seem to get them this side of the border.

Haven't had a call yet as to when my new bed will be delivered, hoping that helps somewhat, if it doesn't I can always play with the electronics, up down, down and up lol

Ahhh Ziggy is reminding me of Missy, I always found her laying with Christmas elves under the tree, no tree up yet but someone found the elves and enjoying resting with them. Wondering how he will adjust to have a rotating tree and mega decorations in it to play with..

Three DGSs here this weekend to get all packed away for the winter, boats in and deck furniture stowed. We have a very large deck 16 X 36 so a lot of stuff to take care of. Tables are just turned on their sides and put by the outside edges as are the chairs. Swing goes in the garage and fountain has to be emptied, moved & covered. Nothing can stay under the eaves as we get big ice slides at times, very destructive to anything they land on. Also have a large wind chime up a tree to get down. Biggest job is getting the pontoon and other boats in a covered. Oh floating trampoline has to be deflated and stowed too. Putting a large tarp over the duck pen. They do have a hay filled covered pen to shelter in, and adding a heater to their water. a heat lamp for their pen too.
If all that is done and it should be, we will be pretty well set for the winter. Had hoped to be out of here but I guess it's not to be.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I don't think I put my name in for the Santa Warren Exchange, did I?
It's quiet here - about 10" of snow and that's muffled everything. The snow plow's been by, so maybe it will be clear to go to church tomorrow.

Victoria Harbour, ON

No you didn't Susan, think you said another year..

So much work winterizing Karen, god bless those that help

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I do so appreciate all those who help. Hubby thinks he can do it all but we are getting to the point where we can't.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I can see it's an admission of getting older but it sure feels nice when it's done with help. When I looked out at my yard this morning it was a nice feeling seeing all the raking and leaves picked up.

Morning, cold rainy day, say snow is coming Thursday..

Clocks turned back, had an extra hour to quilt on aunt blanches quilt..have but 10-12 inches left p, be glad when it is off the frame.

Sharon just called, wants to go fabric shopping at lens mills then out for lunch and just maybe the craft show at Molsons Recreation centre..has been calling mom but she must be in a deep sleep. Not answering..know she will be mad if we go and not she..can't go if you don't answer the phone right? It's more she wants to get her cross stitch quilt to me so I can quilt it for Christmas as she wants to give it to a friend.

Saw Jamie next door out and about yesterday art. Asked him if the garbage containers were his, he said no but did pick all up out of the ditches, I was pleased I didn't have to do it.

Had my coffee, making another then heading downstairs, I have to leave here at 10:15 so I'm hoping to get another hour on the quilt.

Sharon is thrilled I'm bringing her heirloom Christmas quilt, she is anxious to get binding on quilt and see all her hard work in completion.

Enjoy your day everyone!

Sounds like a busy day for you.

For all of you who are part of the Santa Warren exchange please DM who you sent goods to over the last 6 years. I think when the crew was here this summer things got packed up and put in the shed. This will be the last year for this Exchange unless someone else wants to take over or start a new exchange.

WOW Judy. From one extreme to another!!!! Cute place.

Lyndonville, NY

I am here. Still battling a bug of sorts.

YES I am in on the SW exchange. WIll have to search my brain as to who I had in the past. Has it really been six years?

DH & DS working on the rooms has been a bit chaotic. Moved his bed in from dining room tonight so that helps a little bit.

Trying to catch up but living on rice cereal right now. Not even soup is working.

Hugs all
Debbie

Morning all, high of 41 with a low of 30..looked at this week's weather and snow predicted has now moved on to Nov. 19th.

Oh Judy, how wonderful for you and Steve, I can see you doing gardens while Steve is revamping the house. Am sure the entire family will love vacationing there. When do you go for a visit? Added you to Santa Warren exchange, Lordy not sure I can remember whose name I've had in the past, takes all my time to remember yesterday.

Sorry to hear you are still unwell Debbie..mega mess but end result you will love.

Deb did you get your snow tires on?

Meant to add, if next year Dianne you find it's too much for you re the exchange, I'll gladly continue with the 7th Annual Santa Warren Exchange..we all look forward to it.

Had a full day yesterday with Sharon and Linda. Imagine they each both something and I left without . Did stop into Michael's and vought 2 Xmas lanterns I'll do up for sharon and Brianna for Christmas, sharon was looking at a piece that had cardinals in it, mine won't be as elaborate nut I'm sure she will like it.did more shopping and I found the little inserts for coffee maker when using your own coffee vs the pods. Knowing I'd be at joanns in 2 weeks decided to control myself, ended up with 3 yds beige fabric for a country quilt for me, sharon bought a lot. Went to uncle Bob's buffet and something did not agree with me, rubbing tummy. Was on my way to drop off Linda when I saw furniture galore, went in and bought headboard for my new bed. Realized I'll need new bedding...never ends does it.

Today I've about 2 hours on aunt Blanche's quilt, rest of the day will be dedicated to working on Christmas workshop project and bring in at least 2 more Xmas totes.

Whatare you all up to

I am like the rest of you. I don't remember who I sent to, but I think I have sent to everyone. So just draw names, I don't think it will matter if we send to them again.

Has anyone else had problems logging into DG? I could not get in yesterday.

Congrats on the new home Judy.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm with you lindakay, doesn't matter whose name I get, love to have everyones name lol. Getting excited to get my name so I can get started putting a box together.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

DG was down yesterday for a while, I remember thinking...Oh boy here we go again.
Received notice this morning that buyer has accepted inspection and is going forward with the purchase. Huge relief for us.

Great news, Karen! It's nice when things finally come together!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - truly awesome of you to offer to take over the SW Exchange!
Dianne - I can understand you not wanting to do it yet another year - it's a lot to take on, but know that Betty will do it justice.

Got our winter tires on today - thank goodness. Lots of snow, but at least the sun is shining!

My daughter Michelle told me something truly awful.......... her dad left everything to his wife in his will (2nd marriage) and she got not even a mention. His widow has left everything to her kids in her will, and again, not even a mention of his daughter of 41 years. Our daughter did Everything for the two of them, even to the point of being their executors, and she was the one who took them for his final appointment...... When she had a heart attack, back when they were first married, Michelle was going to go visit her in the hospital & her dad said "no, her kids will visit her, and she wouldn't want too many people when she's getting out tomorrow". So, Michelle didn't. She wishes she had, because her kids did NOT visit their mom in the hospital.
Our daughter was There for her dad & his wife in every way possible. Michelle thinks perhaps Lana didn't understand that being Executor just means she does all the running around & work, but get nothing for the "honour". Lana's not the brightest bulb in the box, but Michelle knew that her dad would Not want Lana's kids to get proceeds from his will...... ah well.
We are going to get our wills re-written, as they should be - every 5 years should get an update, if relationships change especially.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Terrible, indeed Susan, my dad left all to his second wife, she really wasn't excepted except for me..anyway dad believe that when she dies what remains should be between we 4 kids and her son she never sees..soon after my dad died she had it changed to her son, none of us and we haven't been in contact but a few months after his death...sooo can well understand how Michelle feels, I'm consoled though that I knew my dad wanted us to have equal shares..Michelle has so much to contend with poor thing, let's soonhope she has some sunshinedays coming.

That is not far away Karen, mere weeks, do you think the road easement access can be done that quickly? How about the people who came to see the house?

Keep looking outside somdaark, look at the clock, not even 6 and I'm thinking bed

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

These are the Santa Swap ladies I have sent to:
2012 Mary in New Orleans
2013 "M"
2014 Thunder
2015 Linda
2016 Judy
I can remember receiving from Mary, Dianne, Debbie, Judy, Thunder.
Hope this helps. Took me hours of going through old posts to try to find these.
Love you ladies!!!!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

The easement matter is really quite simple, Just involves the two houses. Driveway comes off the county road maybe 50 feet.and makes a large circle. mnat years ago the rental was owned by someone else and we bought it. No one else has property here.

Afternoon everyone, sunshine day out there..

Girls just left, very focused, guess they need to be to be They are doing Xmas pressies and time is at a premium.

Good news Karen that it's an easy fix..hope all goes smoothly.

Need to book my room in Buffalo for the 17th before no rooms are left, have lunch then head downstairs and finish a few of my Xmas pressies as well.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh Betty - that's terrible, especially as she never sees her son. I suppose she's told him & was trying to win him over? Ah well, you never know what's in some people's minds when they make up wills.

Sunshiny today, and no snow - hooray!

THANKS to everyone re Lorna .. we had a GREAT appointment .. the new prosthetist is a very +ve young woman, and had several suggestions as to what she plans to do to make Lorna a good secure socket ... fingers crossed .. the other prosthetist was there, but, kept his distance ,, as it was, Val (the new prosthetist) was horrified when she saw how Lorna has had to Jury rig her socket to keep it on ..
We are looking forward to working with Val :-)

~M~

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hoping former prosthetist was properly embarrassed over his shoddy work.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, brrr it's a cold one, 30 degrees..have girls coming on Sunday from the city to do this year's craft and wouldn't you know it's calling for snow.

We must have cross posted "M", that is great news about Val, I'm sure she will do wonders for Lorna.bare you still continuing the process of trying to get a new one??

Barb, I go stateside on 17th, this weekend is craft weekend, I'll be taking photo's of step by step tutorial so I work bugs out before it's your turn 😜
Greg and I had Chinese last night, was enough for him to have 2 plate full and to bring leftovers to work for lunch today.

He picked up new headboard for me, that is a bonus..I'm always asking him to do things, bet he wished jeff lived closer lol

Back on routine of getting up early, managed to get Aunt Blanches quilt done and in washer, I'll call joanne this morning so she can come when next in the area to pick it up..also worked on a topper with another ready to quilt..seem to accomplish so much more when I put in a good morning, more motivated to get things done
