Regarding my trip. I talked to my cousin to get arrangements.
Nothing was set definite as yet, and I had to get a flight as there were not many left.
AND with driving I still needed to book hotel and make arrangements.
She said to me they were just doing the family at the grave side. My Uncle, who lives alone in Virginia, still was having very hard time and she didn't want him overwhelmed and .....the list went on. SO, it was decided I would visit with her at a later date Basically another "family only" issue. I am just going to "let it go".
The way this new world is.....is hurtful.

I went to the docs today for dermatologist and had some suspicious spots until the breast area. Ended up with a couple biopsies done, Will be inside or heavy sweatshirt for a few days as can't be wearing anything tight there. Also slight scraping down side of face for another biopsies of some cells acting up and scaly.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about your family issues Debbie.
Praying your biopsies all come back negative.

Lyndonville, NY

You know Linda, I realized something. My cousin and aunt & I were so close.
But when I had to move as a teenager, we all lost touch. The birthday card here or there and a Christmas family card. I think we went from family to acquaintances. Each raising own family and set of issues. Just grew apart. We were polar opposites our last visit and ...I just knew.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

It is difficult to find common ground when the years go by without contact Deb. Doesn't matter if it is family or a friend. Those relationships need to be nourished or they just fade away. I have lost several too Deb. It's not just you with this issue. Know my heart is there with you.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I agree Barb. It takes work to keep a family together, and sometimes it just isn't meant to be.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, chill in the air, more leaves falling and rain..Lordy, going to drop to 32 tonight..looking at forecast for next 14 days at least not showing snow...too bad it's going to rain Halloween, poor tykes never fails.

Late moving around this morning, imagine 10 am and still in my p.j.'s. Did get a good news call this morning though, Linda when she retired had extra coverage from her get insurance so likely she will be covered to go to Buffalo with us. She will check further into it but soooo hoping she can, she was beyond disappointed when she was told no coverage.

Debbie, my heart aches for you, this 'immediate family' is the pitz, wish people could get beyond that.when I went to aunt Hazel's funeral they decided at the luncheon that a family photo should be taken, well, the immediate family went up, they called their spouses then called all family and close friends as they were seen as family..but then that is how aunt Hazel and uncle Marcel lived, everyone was family..sure hope that I do the same, don't think I segregate, if I do best I change my ways..

Sorry you have more woes health wise to contend with debbie, hugs and Hope report comes back with good news...

Guess I should get mobile, would like to work on the wolf throw for my godson Paul, he is an avid outdoorsman and I'm sure he will love it..can hang it in his rustic cottage.

Now let's see how much I accomplish..need more stars cut out..do have 10 of the project pieces put together..was hoping to have them all done by weekend so I can make up kits, things got in the way, now Sharon tells me mom wants to meet me in Barrie so she can give me her cross stitch quilt she wants me to quilt so she can give it to a neighbor for Christmas, then Joanne texted me to say Aunt Blanche who turned 90 a few weeks ago gave her a top for me to quilt, so there goes a few more days out of my project time..best I startrkimg double shifts lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Betty. I know itis hard, but you need to tell them no..not this late of the season.

Victoria Harbour, ON

No can do at least for these 2 projects, oops 3, did sent me a hockey jersey to make her a pillow, sent it last week but jersey hasn't yet arrived...

Really I'm complaining for nothing..must enjoy it or would do it..lol

Break is over

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

My daughter has found out that her dad may have his "end of life" appointment my next Wed to Friday then he'll be gone. He goes for his 2nd & last assessment on Monday & either that day or within 2 days they'll make the appointment right away. He's been accepted for Assisted Death, so that is no longer an issue.
I SO feel for her. She's going to an appointment to talk to someone on Monday. Cancer Care has people so the family of cancer patients can have someone to talk to.
I still can't get my head around this. I've never known anyone who's opted for Assisted Death, and now it's my ex. His nephew has come from Toronto to stay with my daughter & son in law to he could say "goodbye" to his uncle.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,
Another rainy day and with a high of 55 but a feel like 50. Thank goodness rain isn't snow because we would be in big trouble.

Susan, we all wished our loved ones who are dying in pain could pass on without weeks/months of pain, your ex has chosen to be braver and pass on in peace. Know t is hard, overwhelming for you and your family but these next few days they can say their goodbyes knowing he has made the correct decision..God Bless you all...

Got up a little earlier this morning, enjoying my coffee after having a relaxing bath, looking at flyers and soon will head down to Santa's Workshop for a productive morning.

Snow tire appt is this afternoon then I think I'll drop into the Brick which is opening today..want to see if they have electronic beds.

Greg called last night, going to do a run to the dump for me tomorrow, that is if they don't get his new spider assembledol, if they do I'm sure he will put it off until next weekend..I thought it was odd he would give up buying a new spider to buy a trailer, he didn't say they were buying both..hurrah for them, like seeing them enjoy life while they are young enough to..just thought it would have been a new snowmobile vs spider.

Always so much to do at this time of year..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I can understand your not being able to "get your head around" your ex's decision Susan. To me, the most important part of this is that it is his decision to make and that it was not made lightly. I would be happy in my heart knowing he would not suffer any more than he has and that he is on his way to a far better journey than we can imagine. It is sad, yes, but it can be joyful for him.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well said Barb..

Went and set fire to the wood in fire pit, although it's misty and the wood is damp some seems to be burning. Must sit upstairs to make sure the fire doesn't get out of control.

Just got a call from Linda, she picked up the pod coffee maker for downstairs, was a sale Ina barrie store so she went for me yesterday..I bought one for upstairs when debbie was here but thought I'd treat the girls to easier way to make coffee and less waste.

So my morning seems to be filling up..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, months ago there was a special on tv, in Washington, where loved ones made the decision to have help passing. After watching that, I wish it were legal all over, as I too would not want to suffer, nor make my family suffer, if I was diagnosed with an incurable disease. Why make your self and family members suffer, just trying to take enough meds, just to get through another day. Sending lots of prayers.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you all - you're truly a blessing to me, helping me understand this. It's just so sudden. Is it legal in the U.S.? Don't know how long it's been legal here, but it's "Natural Causes" so insurance wouldn't be a big deal, and it will happen before his 70th birthday (Nov 6th), so he will still be covered and his widow will have benefits. His coverage ends on his 70th birthday.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It is legal only in a few states.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Went to the Brick (furniture and appliances) grand opening just to see what is there, they had Queen electronic beds ref $4,799 for $2,299 and tax..came home to think about it, was talking to jeff, he said 'go for it mom' you never buy something for you..had to laugh, its always something for me lol

Sale ends tomorrow, guess I'll go buy one tomorrow, think i might sleep better, more comfy..

Tomorrow is another day, we will see!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

If we ever either get moved or our room back ( Looks like that is in the not too distant future) We plan on getting a king size...well double twin actually...bed like that.

GS has gotten a job down state so he will be going next we and the rest to follow when he finds them a place to live. I will miss those little girls and worry about them constantly.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LK - if it's already legal in a few states, I can see more coming on board. One of those "signs of the times" I guess........

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, heavy rains here this morning, headache persisting, not even sure I will bring my janome sewing machine in for servicing today...more of same for next 2 weeks. Grrr

Yikes, had water running for bath, just remembered as I typed grr that it was on..right to the brim, almost a disaster, shaking my head!

Karen had the two twin electronics which bolted together when I was on the farm and loved that we each had our own controls...hope you can get one soon. Know you are feeling down with the kids moving south but likely you ahpgree it was getting a bit much for you. When you miss those girls you will have to sew sew sew..
Maybe you can Skype they have access. Will they be near their relatives? Might be a good time for both parents to grow up and take responsibility. Doesn't help your missing the little ones though.

Keep thinking about the bed, means getting rid of 2 twin beds in the boys room, putting my bed in that room..seems so much work, big sigh, sale ends today so will have to decide soon.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

It's a good option for us bed wise as I cannot sleep flat. I do want to get a good one so it will be comfy enough.
Having an open house in the rental today. Told agent this will be the end for her. We either have to get it sold or rent it again. She's making me a bit crazy anyhow. Just runs on and on, I have to get almost rude to get her to stop. I know she's trying to be helpful but we see the world from different angles.
So excited, we are going to get my newest machine today. The sellers said they would deliver it next week-end, but really we need time out.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bought the bed, merry Christmas to me..says it will arrive 2-4 weeks at longest, that is ok as I need help with other two sets I have.

Hope the rentall agent brings in the perfect person for you, would help out financially

Still pouring rain, bought thebed, brought my Janome sewing machine to barrie, told her how sentimental I am overit, hoping it can be repaired..said she would give me a callmid week letting me know the cost of repairing it, some time you just have to say goodbye to an old friend..keep your fingers crossed I won't have to yet.

Have ham in the freezer, going to look for a good scalloped potato recipe done in crock pot for tomorrow..

Might have warm bath and get Jammie's on,get comfy andhave a nap, still fighting a headache.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hooray, Betty - new bed on the way. How exciting!!
Here's hoping your old friend, the Janome, gets all better soon!

Tomorrow we're going to a Community Turkey dinner at the Arena. Looking forward to it :-)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, another rainy day, cold out brrr

Not many leaves on the trees, just too bad about rain over next feweeks as the landscaper can't get the leaves up when wet, oh well, am sure they will be there for the spring for the pickings.

Sounds like a lovely meal is ahead of you susan, enjoy..

Going to start quilting aunt blanche's quilt top, lots of issues with it but she is 90 and still sewing so hurrah for her.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I don't think I'll need to eat for another 5 days lol After church we had fellowship, of course that involves food, too, so 2 hours later we had a full turkey dinner with all the fixings lol Yikes, almost rolled out the door lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like it was a good meal Susan.

I went to see the heart specialist yesterday. Even though the reports from our local ER stated the EKG they did was normal, the heart specialist asked me what school they went to? The copy of the EKG they sent he said was very abnormal, so now I need to go back on the 7th, for a nuclear stress test, and I have to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours. The specialist was really mad at the local ER Dr.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

*Gentle Hugs* LK - I'm rather glad the heart specialist caught the abnormality. He's looking after you well, and that pleases me greatly!! I hope the testing goes well, and that every thing turns out ok. My thoughts & prayers are with you.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, another rainy day and cold..amsure one of these mornings we will see that fluffy white stuff. Can't believe how dark it is outside, hmmm don't we change the clocks this weekend?

Lindakay, omg that is not good news on both accounts, the doctors misdiagnosis and the fact that something is wrong. Hoping your appt will come within the next few days and there is good news.hugs

Susan was the dinner for an early Christmas celebration? Suepre sounds yummy!

Got about 1/3 rd of aunt Blanche's quilt done, going to work on it again today, unlikely I can finish it but will do a good chunk of it. Joanne brought me 4 slate gingerbread men and Christmas decorations for it so might get them basecoated, would make cute Christmas stocking stuffers and one for me lol

Would be nice if people would not keep dropping projects off for me to do, list keeps getting bigger, mind you I enjoy the challenge 😜

Had a coffee, will make a second and head downstairs

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Linda, what a mess, Good think the specialist rechecked the EKG. It's best if problems are caught before there is an incident.

Betty you are as bad as me, so hard to say no. I do find that the more I'm challenged, the more I can get done.

A small bit of good news, hopefully the rental house at least might be sold, there is an offer on it and we are very close to agreeing on price. Also looks like GS & family will be moving down state. He has gotten the job down there.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear he got a job Karen. Sending prayers you get what you want for the house.

Betty, did you do any costumes for Halloween?

Victoria Harbour, ON

No costumes lindaKay lol, bit late if they ask today..greg is dropping in for supper, hopefully it's not to work up some Halloween magic . Lol

Wouldn't that be wonderful Karen, one less place to look after amd extra cash to do things you would like to do..when does the family move south? Am sure a lot of tears will be shed by you but it's for the best.

Trying to get rid of 2 single beds, twin doublets etc for free..can't find anyone who needs them..big sigh, hate to throw them in the dump.

Linda is going to put them on kijiji for me but I hate having strangers come to the house.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

The rental is sold, now to hope all goes through.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Congratulations Karen.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all..Happy Halloween, another rainy and cold day. Brrr. Showing a mix of rain and snow for Sunday..knew it was coming.

How wonderful for you Karen..when is the closing? Was it a firm offer or were there conditions like financing? You will be on pins and needles until the closing. When do the kids move?

Calleda shelter for battered women to see if they wanted beds, to date no reply, drats think they are going to the dump..hate that as these beds were only used for an odd sleepover and when the boys came to visit when young.

Girls come this morning, garbage day so best finish my coffee and get it to the curb.

Whatare all you doing today, getting ready for trick or treating tonight, get many kids?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Very quiet day here. My friend Denise is coming up for a while but no kids tonight. We are part way down a dark driveway so we don't put on our light anymore. Had plenty of candy last year and not one kid!!! No wonder we put on weight!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, call the churches, I bet someone needs a bed.

No kids here either.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty perhaps there is somewhere you can donate the beds. We have an online local free site where folks are in need and request items they need. I know you don't want strangers in your house, perhaps you can get someone to deliver them for you. Be a shame to send them to the dump.
