Did post it inthe freebie adds, few called, wanted to know if they came with headboard and footboards..nope. Can't wait beyond weekend to get rid of them as I have to have my my bed put in that room tomake roomfor the new bed.
I get between 50-100 depending on weather, cold out and did rain but I'm thinking rain might hold of till trick or treaters come..have Pop and chocolate bars for the kids that way if I've less kids I can drink the leftover pop..enjoy seeing the little ones come, dressed in their costumes.
Bad day..barrie sewing centre called, repairman said the mother board on my janome is fried, ifhe camfindonelikely cost about $500-600 to repair..doubt it's worth it as it's 21 years old but my favorite machine, then came upstairs and furnace not working, was 64F, greg will come amd have a look at it after work..went to quilt a table topper, quilting foot metal piece broke..went to big quilter, skipping stitches so guess who is just sitting feeling sorry for herself. Grrr
Best/Worse/What did I Learn today, visit with friends old/new..join in all welcome!
Ohhh one good thing today..our health insurance coverage now includes drugs regardless of income for all under ahe of 25..exciting for a lot of low income families I'm sure
Sorry to hear you are having problems Betty.
Greg got the furnace going..1. who knew there were batteries in thermostat. 2. When you turn the power off the furnace don't keep clicking, give it time to reset. So he told me lol
Told him about my janome, said after that many years of using it and it's a good machine, add in sentimental he would go for the new mother board hmmm big sigh.
About half hour ago it was between freezing rain and snow, stopped now so maybe kids can still go out.
Betty - our Community Fall Dinner was the reason for the turkey dinner. It was yummy. Seeing as how we didn't have our own Thanksgiving dinner, I appreciated it all the more!
Morning all, another day with rain inthe forecast, high of 46 today. Brrr
Ended up with 52 trick or treaters all dressed in the cutest costumes, must say even the older children were in costume. Mega pop and chocolate left, I'm in trouble! Lol
Was up early, chilled, furnace off again so guess I'll call greg so he can send someone to repair, hopefully it's minor.
With getting up so early I've managed to get all fall/Halloween decor in one place, as soon as it's light enough I'll get totes from back shed and get them packed away, guess you know what it coming out next right?
We had 2 trick or treaters here. In the 21 years I have lived here, we have never had any. It was nice seeing them
That was nice lindakay, maybe younger families are moving into the area.
Should get dressed, got caught up with Halloween and Christmas ll
We had no one come by, but we have candy lol
Today, my ex is getting assisted death - just spoke to our daughter, and she's on her way to pick he & his wife up to take them to the clinic for it. It happens at 1:30pm Central time.
Still trying to wrap my head around it.
Prayers for all Susan..can't imagine how much strength he had to have to make this decision..
Got to hide the chocolate bars that I was giving out with pop, with each run to the shed for a tote I pass the bowl and guess who eats one, or two..oh oh
Susan, hugs to you and prayers for family.
Betty, did you ask Kyle if he needed beds for a guest room with the new house?
We went out last night, so no kids or candy. Thought would help my sinus/cold/headache to get a change of air as I am blaming it on the construction. No help.
DH is going to pick up some Excedrin migraine for me on way home.
Everyone stay safe and warm
Debbie I swear by excedrin migraine, it's on my list for next trip over.
Kyle has all he needs, guess it's garbage they go
Great job Karen. That is so adorable.....
Keeping you in my prayers Susan... It is never easy no matter when or how....
Betty I am so glad to see you weren't on the 400 last night or early this morning.. To have the 400 closed both ways for over 24 hours is unheard of ... poor commuters. I hate the 400 at the best of times. Terrible wreck.
No trick or treaters here. Even the 2 kids on the lane who are now teens stay in the city to go out.Love the costume Karen you made for Amelia.
Oh Karen I sure hope the sale of the rental goes through; We rented the farm house for a couple of years. I was on pins and needles when an offer came in. The first offer was great but they couldn't get financlng.
D
Keep looking at the clock and thinking of Susan and her family!
Karen, meant to ask if youmade it, professional job as always, am sure she was thrilled.
Dianne, thinkmfrom reports they are saying a drunk driver caused it, heart goes out to all the families and first responders..believe highway still closed.
Are you getting this cold damp Weather? Bones are aching like crazy..ooooch
Patnand Don just dropped in, sjphewas here Tuesday when I was having so many issues, one being foot for my husqvarna, old one broke from usage so seeing she was going to be near a husqvarna dealership she picked one up for me anddelivered it..so nice of them....sure wasn't cheap.
Mega pain, bones are hurting hid time so I'm going to take something and relax for a few hours..have some girls coming tonight..
What I did accomplish today to bring in about 1/4 of the Christmas decor, more tmr.
The buyer already has financing in place we have to get survey. they have to get inspection and appraisal. Buyer is very anxious to get closed, of course I would like that as well. If gs & family get moved it will put us in a much better position all the way around if we don't sell this one. More lookers tomorrow.
Vampirina just came out last month and immediately Amelia said that was what she wanted to be for Halloween. The dress is a simple jumper and I found the perfect fabric, velvet with a spider web design on it. The found a headband with rabbit ears I transformed into bat wings. Her mom found the perfect boots and the rest was easy to put together.Amelia was very picky about everything and ended up loving it. Best part for school, all she had to do was put the jumper and bat wings on over the rest. The pink was actually a dress so she just wore that and the blue leotard & tights to school. It was fun making her so happy.
They so will miss you Karen as much as you will miss them. Do you have to get a new survetpy or just pegs found and remarked? So they want to close by when?
It's not right on the water right..oh new buyer for your home, wouldn't that be something.
Melanie emailed me, said maybe tomorrow I should call reuse it store in midland and Barrie to see if they would take the beds, hope they do.
Well I've put in a hard day, I'm tired, girls just left so heading to bed.
Betty 400 is still closed. 2 18 wheelers full of fuel started the whole thing happening.I saw an interview with a guy whose car was involved saying everyone involved that could ran for their lives as the fuel spilled out and caught on fire. CITY is saying 2 deaths but could be more as they work their way through the charred vehicles.
LK when is it you see the Cardio doc ? Soon right?
The TH just came in for what is I hope their last call for the night. I haven't been walking them after 8 pm since Diesel hurt his leg. I couldn't bear listening to him wail while I took Chaos and Duke but not him.
Barb how are you and Norm doing ? Have you had a bit of snow already ? Where M lives they sure have. Sure hope Lorna gets some relief - she sure is a trooper putting up with all she has.
Betty do you have to pay an extra fee to have the bed delivered to your home ? For me from Ktown it is $75. Used to be free.
Susan that turkey dinner sure sounded good. But no leftovers .... my favourite.
Sitting here listening to Aaron Neville and it made me think of Jeanne He is from NOLA. Wonder how she is doing.
I'll be interested in whether they will take your beds Betty. Here they no longer take mattresses or box springs - goes directly to the dump. I have literally dozens of lamps that we used in our booth set ups.Had double of everything because we often had 2 shows at once. Actually triples is more like it. No one wants them as they are not the "in" style for today's booth setups.
Stay well and safe everyone.
Dianne
Thank you all for your thoughts & kindnesses. I spoke briefly to Michelle as she was heading off to pick him & his wife up. Afraid I was a bit weepy, and she has enough on her plate, so didn't talk long. I called my sister Ruth so she would know and could talk to her niece. After all, they're in the same city.
Morning all, dreary kind of day again, rained good part of the night and light mist now..no need to go outside except for a few Christmas totes and a trip to pharmacy, ran out of pain meds so not a problem what it's like outside.
Greg worked on furnace last night, hasn't shut off since so here is hoping.
Susan am sure it was beyond overwhelming for all..hugs
Dianne, it sure was a fiery collision, would imagine if no major damage to the area the highway will reopen today, haven't listened to the news yet this morning. Is Diesel's leg showing any improvement? Can imagine he wouldn't be happy thinking you were showing preference to the others.
Deb how are you and the family doing, your doggies doing ok?
Yes, $45 delivery fee, hoping greg can get the twin beds out, my bed put in the spare room so when they call to deliver I'll be ready for them. Poor Greg, with living so close he always is the one I depend on for everything..will call a few places this morning and see if any take the beds, one last effort.
I'll ask Debbie about joining in the Santa Warren exchange thenmaybe we could give out names by Friday so we can shop or make for our special friend? Ok with you? Want to get mine in the mail while stateside if my name is a USA name when I go on the 17th.
Just finished coffee and haggle so time to head out for first tote
Betty, it is hard to believe how much you pay for sewing supplies in Canada.
Susan, sending you lots of thoughts and prayers.
Karen, that costume is so cute. I know you made her day!
Dianne, I see the heart specialist on the 7th for a stress test. I won't get the results until 2 weeks later.
Sure hope Diesels leg gets better soon.
I saw that accident on our news, it sure looked bad.
Not sure why lindakay, that area is as straight as can be yet it's always an area where accidents occur, maybe because it is so straight they feel they can drive at a higher speed.
Long time to get results lindakay..hope all is well and cambe helped with meds.
Ohhh got an email from kijiji, the woman who asked if there were headboards and footboards, said she was interested, I emailed her sayingbedsneeded to be picked up by weekend's end..hope to hear from her..will go in closet and get what goes with the bed just incase
Must go add Debbie's name to Santa Warren Christmas exchange

YEAH!!! Glad she still wants them.
That is strange LK. Every time I've had a stress test, they have the results right then. I've only had one of the tread mill type. I only made it through because I was determined to do it at least once. Now I have the chemical. My problem is my diabetic legs, they just don't want to work so well any more. Now if I stand or walk much I'm plagued will muscle cramps for hours.
Haven't heard back..had to tell her no duvet covers, guess when I had the flood and cleaning up they took up mega space so must have sent them to Salvation Army..not end of world, if she does she must come by the weekend.
That is the pitz Karen, nothing worse that muscle cramps, used to get charlie horse often, touch wood haven't had them in years..just the constant ache.
My break is over, on to the next 'to do'
Well, supposed to have lookers here today. and inspector is across the street. Glad he came so soon as if it doesn't go well, we will be able to cancel the survey. If it falls through, we will be cancelling the listing and renting again until spring.
Fingers crossed Karen, good luck on the buyers and will the inspector let you know if allis ok..am sure you are on pins and needles
The buyer gets the report. We did sell the house as is so....it will be up to buyer to complete the sale.
Thanks for your thoughts & condolences - much appreciated.
Just back home from Calgary - 6wk post surgery followup. Things went well. My knee bends 98% and they want 90% so it's good. She gave me new exercises to add to my current regime.
We had blowing snow going to Calgary, and more coming home, on summer tires lol Well, we'll be able to get our winter tires on. We have them, but unfortunately not with us. I couldn't believe it when Bob told me they have a sale on putting your winter tires on $6.25 per tire! To do it normally, in Calgary, it would be $135 total, in Olds $120, and in Three Hills $100. Gee - $25 sounds GOOD, eh? Really too bad we didn't have them with us lol
We'll go to Three Hills soon, and get them put on then.
Morning all, rain with more to come over the next week, sump pump is working overtime.
Susan, good news about your knee, not so food about driving in snow thought. That is a good price on tires, best you take advantage of the sale. Cost for have tiresput on if on rims is $60 here and almost $100 if no rims..that is why I bought new rims this year. New hubcaps I put on last Friday of which I lost 1 first day were replaced yesterday with new set..after I left I realized I didn't ask him how much I owed him, assuming I should owe him anything, guess he would have called me crack when I left had there been a charge.
Karen hope you hear from the buyer saying all is well with the report.how long will it take to get the survey?
I'm off to Barrie this afternoon to bring my quilting machine in for servicing, won't get it back for about 10 days...I'll drop into Quilts Etc to see what they have, sharon might come up tomorrow but other than that not much going on.
WOW. Here in Texas it is only $5 or $10 to get a tire changed.
It is very foggy here this morning, but 62 degrees. supposed to be mid 80's today.
I need to get some dusting done, and sweep up the dog hair.
We have to wait for the buyer to accept the inspection report. It's more for his information as we have the house for sale as is. However he has the option of cancelling out if he isn't happy with the report. We have to know before the survey is done as it is very expensive and will come out of proceeds.
Need to go to Texas then to get my snowtires put on lol
Can dust everyday as Ziggy sheds a lot so I'm sure you've mega hair as well. Perfect temp for me is 70!
Karen was it its own lot or do you have to go through municipality to have it severed from your land?
Didn't meet my goal of brining in 4 totes yesterday so making up for it today, brought 3 in, one is tree decor so set it out on back deck, need 2 more..
As I sat here I remembered the linoleum piece under the scatter rug that I painted a few years ago, have one for each season hidden under living room scatter rug lol
Out it comes
All this talk of changing tires, that's something I need to do, yet. I was warned that with my new van that I better have snow tires on it in the winter! Need to get new rims, too. Always something to spend money on! And seldom on the "fun" stuff!
Property has it's own lot but we have to have a shared easement created. It's there but not on paper. Not a problem when it's all ours but rules have changed too. You know government is always going to find a way to butt in if it puts something in their pocket.
Deb you live in snow country as well, it's a coming..yes, every time I build up a nest egg something comes up to use it other than like you say, for fun
Karen, sounds like getting it all done will take some time.
Wind is up and sky is very dark..
That's per tire - $6.25, but it's in Calgary, and we're not going back there until Dec 14th. Not driving an hour each way to take advantage of those prices.
Right now we have at least 8" of powder. It's not stopping any time soon either......
It's been snowing steadily since last night. Not nice driving.
The $100 is for all 4 tires to be changed. Best price we can find.
Considerable amount of money when you think it needs to be done for winter and again for spring. Thought I saw a snowflake this afternoon while in Barrie, hope weather warms up,and it melts for you.
Man from elmvale, about 15 minutes from here came and got the twin beds, he just left. Apparentaly she is on social security, needs a care giver at night so these beds will be perfect. Sooo pleased they didn't have to go to dump after all.
Glad you found a home for them.
