((((Barb & Norm)))) Sending hugs and prayers your way. There is no easy solution in this and I have been battling same for 2 years. My job has been replaced by computer.
Roofing crew is here to clean up.
Barb,
I sent you a d-mail.
So sorry Barb. Just what we went through. Hubbys former boss who had been a friend for over 30 years, long before he was a boss, told him to go be a greeter at Walmart.
Evening storm brewing ..
Barb I'm so sorry to hear of your news, am sure Norm was a great worker and if weren't for age would be employed immediately. Praying something comes up..overwhelming for sure. Norm would be a great Walmart greeter as he is so personable, doubt many of those jobs are available..thank goodness for family. Hugs. Life sure isn't easy..
Know first thing is to withdraw but you here here with friends, we offer what support we can..
Finally have a Canada 150 quilt to display..paid to get up early this morning
I'm here, Betty :-)
Just doing a bit of gardening (picked some broccoli, leaf lettuce, kale, green onions & our first 2 raspberries!).
I'm making a curtain for our RV bedroom "door". We had a old one that we tore down because it was so ratty when we bought it, but with Susan coming, figured it was time to put a new one up.
Doing a little bit of painting inside & out.
Friend here just bought a new rv and she and hubby will travel with grands so doing same, making compartments with curtains.
Fresh veggies, lucky you.
Was busy since early a.m so soon to bed!
Beautiful quilt Betty.
Thanks lindakay, you never mention sewing anymore, have you given it up?
Raining like crazy again today, not much to do except play in craft room..sure wish we'd see more sunshine.
Sharon how is Vern and your gardens?
Just had coffee, got to tell you takes a lot for me to eat, everything tastes like tin and really no appetite, must've the meds..will make toast and make myself at least have that..
Debbie will surely say, you ate big breakfast at Cracker Barrel, yep did lol
Thank you friends for all you prayers and support. It is much appreciated. Norm had an accident because of loose gravel in the road and before his boss even asked if he was all right he told Norm that this would be the end of their relationship!!! Norm was okay - just shaken up a bit and then that statement did him in. We couldn't believe it. It seems the company has liability insurance for injury or property damage to others but doesn't cover the vehicle itself! So because Norm cost them a lot of money he was fired. We are doing okay. Unemployment kicks in soon and the kids are so good to us. We are really lucky compared with others.
Again, I thank you all.....
((((Barb and Norm))))
Oh Barb, how horrible of them, not often you find a company that cherishes their employees..accidents are accidents and to not even ask I'd he was injured, terrible..no excuse for that..glad he will get unemployment as it will bring him one step closer to 65..are some perks being 65.. I go today to pick up my prescriptions today and all free!! Hugs
I love the bright colours in the butterfly quilt lindakay..have you given it away yet? Love doing panels, you can make them your own with birder designs.
Darlene called, John's son who is moving into a brand new home next week is having kitchen counters replaced, putting stone ones in, well guess who is getting new counter tops for her laundry room..wish they were changing cupboards as well..lol
Trip to the reuse it centre in barrie on Saturday is needed..
Good for the unemployment Barb. He should get back for to bring him up to date. Usually there are several extensions he can get too. Hopefully get him close to retirement.
On the good side Barb he is home with you, that has to feel good!
Working on applique'ing the border around heirloom Christmas quilt, few more hours to go..need to go to town but waiting for rain to stop otherwise it will have to wait until weekend as sharon called and. Is coming to spend the day tomorrow.
Yes, they have both been given out.
Great to have a few ahead ..
Still raining, just checked my backing for the Christmas quilt I just finished applique, short about six inches so must be creative
