Oh noooooooooo
Did you call him?
*Gentle Hugs* Betty - you're in the hospital now, aren't you?
I'm so worried about you.......
As of 3:00ish was still home and going to lay down and rest.
Our heat wave is in full blast. Our door handles are in the shade of the covered patio but just about to hot to touch. I went out and touched some leaves on plants. They are hot also. Poor landscape is suffering. Our low tonight will be 87.
Betty, so sorry you are ill still. It did take many doctors to find out what was my brother's problem. He finally got an answer at the Mayo Clinic in the Eastern US. Being nauseous is a horrible feeling. We are all keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Debbie so sorry you have to deal with the "dark side" of your family. I have been walking on egg shells for over 43 years with this child, now 55, and I am done.
Vern's son came over yesterday and my daughter and her family came over and brought dinner. Vern has a difficult time holding his silverware so we cut up his food and he eats with a spoon or his fingers. His son lives here in town but only comes over every couple of months. We forgot to tell him out the way his father had start eating and he immediately started telling him everything he was doing wrong. Good thing Vern is hard of hearing. I immediately told his son to back off. That Vern had stated he did not want to eat with anyone because of the way he ate and did not want to be fed. We all told him we wanted him to join us and if we had to eat with our fingers we would do that. He kept at it so I gave him the "evil step mother look" and he finally stopped. We had custody of Vern's two children since his son was 9 and his daughter was 13. I do not know where these two got their lack of compassion.
I watched the noon news. I think I will skip the evening news. Nothing but bad news.
Dogs and I are not going on a walk today. Just to hot. Maybe after the sun is behind the mountains.
Take care. I will check in later to check on Betty. Pat, hope your husband is doing well today.
Sharon
Been in bed since yesterday aft. Just called Melanie to come get a load of nighties/Jammie's to wash for me. With work being done downstairs they had to disconnect my washer, bad timing.
Tummy has just started to settle, not sure I should have but got one of those jello strawberry parfaits, ate 1/4 of it and I'm full.
Hugs to all of you, we are sure having a time of it..
Would love to type out a long post but no can do, perhaps later..
You're not eating very much, obviously, if you can't feel like you can keep it down. Poor Betty......
What about one of those drinks made for hard eating times like Ensure or Boost? At least that way you would be getting something nutritious into you. Are you able to keep fluids down? Praying hard Betty........
Copied from post on sewing thread.
Morning,
Looks like it might be a rainy day, hoping so in a way..need my guys to at least finish storage room so I can get all from that room I took out out back in..flooring company comes in the morning.
Didn't vomit since yesterday afternoon so that is a plus and slept almost right through the night so your prayers and well thought are working.
Tummy is a bit yucky, likelyfrom nit being fed so was thinking of making a toast
Glad to hear you are doing a bit better.
Continued prayers Betty.
Betty I am always afraid to wake you on FB, so I asked Sharon for update.
I know how hard it is to get to sleep and then have messages go off.
Wish I could run away for a few days and help you out but I was informed I have
roofers coming today....or soon as rain drys out a bit.
Hugs all
Vomiting sine 9
Betty .. you need to see a dietician and sort out a diet ..no milk, no caffeine, no carbonation .. weak tea and water and perhaps Gatorade, or, pedialyte ..
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers ..
~M~
Betty, I found some pedialyte Popsicle sticks on Amazon. You could also use an ice cube tray and make Gatorade frozen cubes. Vern actually ate one. Getting him to drink the liquid pedialyte is a struggle. I also give him a protein ensure with his breakfast. His breakfast today was a piece of bundt cake, pineapple/mango juice with ice cream, two eggs over a piece of toast and a cup of tea. He only eats twice a day and it takes him over an hour to eat.
Betty I am so sorry for your problem returning. I never turn on my laptop this early but had to check on you.
We are going to break an all time high heat level today. Either 116 or 117. Second day in a row we are staying inside.
OMG Sharon - I would be going crazy with temps like that. Thank heaven for AC....
Betty - can your doctor refer you to a dietician who could suggest things for you? I feel so bad that you are having this kind of a problem as I know how you love your foods.
Glad to know your roofers are coming Deb.
Deb, one of my frustration dreams is my roof is leaking and as the dream goes on the worse the leaks get. The worst frustration dream ism losing my car. I had that one last night. I took the dogs for a very short walk. We saw our neighborhood owl and even it was panting.
Our coolest temps last night was 89 degrees. Many air conditioning units breaking down. Air conditioning techs are working 24 hr a day and not even catching up. They have set up cooling stations for anyone who's AC has broken down so they can stay cool until their units get fixed. And, the repairs are very expensive and some individuals do not have the money so they are collecting money to help those individuals get their AC fixed.
Oh Betty and Sharon, Hugs to you both....Well maybe not Sharon, I'm sure she's much to warm already. Maybe a cooling hug to you Sharon.
Betty my heart just aches for you, it's most miserable to not be able to eat without being sick.
my goodness - 116 / 117F? That's awful! I hope those with $$ issues get the help they need, to have their ac's fixed.
Betty - my worry is that you're not getting enough nutrition and losing weight (of course you are). I hope a dietician can help - dry crackers & water won't be enough. Can you have Ensure or Boost without getting nausious or throwing up?
Strong winds went through here, but I think/hope they're finished with. Looked like several trees were about to break, and dust was flying all over the place. One piece of siding came off except for one screw. Bob went out and secured it. We had a severe thunderstorm warning/watch that seems to have ended. I couldn't get online to see it for some reason - think the internet was having problems at that point.
Betty, have they checked the blood supply to your stomach? It sounds very similar to the symptoms a client of my had. Basically a portion of the stomach was dying due to poor blood supply. It took FOREVER for them to finally diagnose it correctly. She is on the mend now, very slowly but at least it's in positive direction!
I hope your doctors are looking at ALL possibilities and find the issue and fix it soon!
Betty went to hospial agin. I think about 5:30ish. I havent had any updated since.
I am sure will hydrate with electrolytes and waters. Sure hope for answers
So sorry about Betty. Has anyone ever tried pedialyte. That stuff tastes terrible and would make anyone throw up or refuse to drink it. Gatorade or Powerade tastes lots better.
Ah Betty, as much as I hate them, I think the hospital is the place for you. You need nutrition and hydration and hopefully you will get it there.
I've been rethinking some of what I have going on and I feel it's due to my Chemo being changed to a generic. Several years ago Dr. tried to change my Chemo drug and I was put into the hospital with pancreatitis. As soon as I was put back it was fine. Several months ago I was put on a generic and I've had trouble with pancreatitis ever since. It's not as severe as before but it never seems to go completely away...I don't know why it took me this long to make the connection, my Dr. certainly didn't. Tomorrow I will start digging.
oh Betty - you really need to be in the hospital, obviously.
My prayers, and good thoughts continue. Bless you
My prayers are constant Betty. In hospital is where you need to be and I would halt the hydrate and release cycle. You need to stay there so they can find the problem.
Nothing else is more important than you.....
Sending prayers for Betty as well.
Karen, I hope you can get your regular chemo back, and get rid of the pancreatitis.
When I had to give daughter pedialyte I put about 1/4 cup cherry koolaide in it, helped tremendous. Same with making the "pops" for her.
I talked to M.....I think she is right that this sounds like gallbladder. She ate toast and shortly after was vomiting. Especially if she put butter on the toast....fat of any sort sends it off on an attack. I think back a few years and that is how mine was diagnosed.
Just praying praying praying.
My other thought, this happened last spring also. RIGHT after she cleaned the big ponds out. AND it happened the week after she cleaned the pond this year. Could she have gotten a bacteria or something from the water. Doesn't need to drink to get into system. Any small cut or even breathing over top of a water source.
Again experience with DD.....she got a bacteria called pseudomonas from swimming at camp.....in a large lake. Entered into urinary tract and she was ill and in hospital for a month.
Hoping for positive updates
Hugs
Hope they can get to the bottom of this. Prayers for Betty being sent.
Morning all,
Omg I sympathize with you all regarding heat..and some say world climate is a myth..
In hospital since yesterday late afternoon, once they give me a few cocktails and vomiting stops I'm as right as rain..
Darlene took up my slack, she spent aft/eve clearing out what needed to be done Re flooring company coming today, now issue with quilting unit grr
Oops nurse here to give me a needle request blood clots
Nurse just came to tell me dr trevernier will do a lower scope in the morning to check on colon?
Happy Birthday Liz !!! Are you roasting ? I saw the temps were over 100* your way..
D
She posted on Facebook, she is on vacation, in Michigan. Cooler than California.
I'll bet Liz will want to move to Michigan if temps are like that!!!! WOW Happy Birthday Liz.
I'm so glad to read that Darlene is helping out at the house. She is a dear friend indeed. What seems to be the problem with the quilting machine?
Betty, I get busy for one day and you are back in the hospital. Hopefully they will keep you there until they know the cause.
Las Vegas has hit 117 three different times. Once in 1942, 2005 and yesterday. Suppose to break a record today. Yesterday it tied a record. I walked the dogs in the greenbelt which is just two houses above us and the trees are drooping. Hummers are constantly at my waterfall in the KOI pond.
Vern has a Dr. appointment this afternoon. He is actually feeling better the last two days. He does good for a few days and then dives again. Keeping him hydrated is a constant a battle.
Morning helper just left. I came on her to check on Betty. I need to go feed the KOI and check on some plants to make sure their irrigation is working.
One cat is in but I need to find the other one and get her inside.
Happy Birthday Liz. Have a wonderful day.
As far as anyone moving Michigan, I would rather spend a few months in the heat than all of those cold months in Michigan.
You all have a wonderful day. Hugs, Sharon
Happy Birthday, Liz!
Any answers, Betty?
Betty is getting a new scan tomorrow morning. Resting, meds and fluids.
Im glad she is there ....and hope they figure this out
In the US if they try to release you from the hospital "too early" you can discuss it. with medicare you can refuse but if the insurance sides with hospital and disagrees with you, patient is stuck with the bill for the disputed days. Here, also, if you readmit quickly, the hospital gets a fine as it's suggestive of discharging too quickly.
Morning all
Oh my, what temps..I'll stick with my winters!
Yes waiting for scope, doc Travernier specialist said likely not till this afternoon, just put his head through the door and said see you later.
So without breakfast and lunch I'll need a hearty meal.
It's nit that they are letting me out to soon, I silly lay here after a cocktail they make to east vomiting then nothing, not sick until next relapse,
For next trip home they ordered zofran (?) very expensive drug they give chemo patience for vomiting, good results..will try anything..
Flooring companywont come till tomorrow, pain in the you know what
Greg brought me new Jammie's last night..pretty outfit, Suzanne and Dar and John also visited.
So hoping too go hipome tmr
