I agree, Barb - the Lord will look after her, and also with you - I hope she doesn't overdo. I do think the hospital needs to look at why she's being discharged and returning so often. I know she likes being at home in her own wee bed, but if that's not keeping her well, she needs to have the hospital care.

Going to do a scan this morning,did scan on brain last night incase pressure from my fall but it was ok..
Going to put me on regular anti nausea drugs every 4 hours, if ok I will go home tmr

Prayers this all works and is clear.

LK , Susan and myself can tell ya all about staying sat down and letting others carry the load for awhile .. having had joint replacements, well, there is NO up and bumping around, unless you want a whole lot of pain ..

I wish Betty well, but, anti nausea meds are just a bandaid .. something is afoot..

*Gentle Hugs* Betty - I know it's tough to stay down, for sure. I just feel so badly for you. Now that I'm up and about more, I wish I lived closer & could not only give you hugs, but help. I know you have lots of friends, family & your Drs to look after you, so I'll have to content myself with that. Bless you Betty - and loads of prayers heading your way from our household.

I took Vern to the Neurologist today. He was shocked how much Vern had deteriorated. Our last two appointments were cancelled because first one he was in the hospital and second one he was sick. I told the Neurologist I was just about afraid o make another appointment in fear Vern would get ill again. He chuckled because he understands my weird sense of humor. I explained to the doctor what was going on with Vern because Vern has a very difficult time talking. His B/P was good but he is down to 120 lbs. He told him his weakness is being caused by the Parkinson and it will not improve but get worse. So that is what is going on here. We are having a heat wave so we are staying home and inside.

Betty, I am so worried about you. Th doctor told Vern today to stay away from the ER and the hospital. If you go either place, you go backward. So I am praying you get well enough to be able to come home and stay home.

It is wonderful to see everyone checking in on Betty. You are all such wonderful individuals. I will be able to check in earlier tomorrow because I have no appointments.

Sharon .. upsetting to hear the news about Vern .. I think we lull ourselves into a routine ,and, once it starts to change, in your case Vern's deterioration, it comes as a shock .. sending you hugs and positive thoughts .. you're a trooper ..and, Vern loves you .. means a lot :-)

Betty, hope you are feeling better today .. Vern's doc was right .. the ER is for a quick fix and off you go .. what you are dealing with is not a quick fix ..

Morning all,
Should be home by noon, leaving with a little more optimism than before.

Trevernier, surgeon said he spoke with pathology after scan last night, seems blood is flowing a tad and just maybe it wasto my benefit to hemorrhage a few weeks ago. Dr Beasle, lovely young female doc said ith me and said in 2016 when I was in hospital on/off a few months that it very well could have been colon but theyid not do scope. So the 40cm infected justidnt happen and could have been the culprit..now they know and seenits somewhat healing but hadn't quite yet started I may havead the vomiting attack due to it, she thinks taking anti nausea every 6 hours might curb the urge to vomit..we will see

Yes, can't get much more rested than being in bed same as hospital, just don't have anyone coming in with meds/food but am getting mega calls..

Ann came to visit this afternoon, i did not get up, she sat on bed and we chatted..

She had gotten a call early this morning from PEI that a friend whom had summer trailer where Ann had hers ions ago and short walk down bay from me had passed away

All is well in Nevada. Hot and getting hotter. Whole SW is having a heat wave. Today was the first Saturday I have had morning help with Vern. He is getting to weak to help me get him out of bed and into the wheelchair. I made him mashed potatoes, gravy and chicken for dinner. He was enjoying it and then all of a sudden threw up. So that was the end of his dinner. I will get him some ice cream before dinner.

Betty I am so delighted you are home. Now if we can just keep you home.

Linda, where is Padre Island? Hope you had a great time.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. Like I explained before, Vern and I just never realized we were getting old and he was getting sicker. It just snuck up on us.

Didn't hear of any touching down locally but got to tell you several times you could hear the wind whistle blowing that was unnerving. Torrential rainright now, calling for much the same today as yesterday. Looked at 14 day forecast, 12 of 14 rain/t storms.

Sharon, poor Vern and poor you, how overwhelming it must be to watch the man you love fading raven more each day. Do hope his youngest is minding her p's and q's..hugs

Lindakay I spent a week I believe about 27 yrs ago, travelled all of Texas with my girlfriend, we we to stay in Galveston but it was same time as oil spill so we moved on.

While on padre island we took a day trip over to matamoros (?) came back with many goodies..guess you wouldn't want to do that today? Loved the photo's

Did sleep fairly well although around 3 I took hot bath as legs and hip were paining, didn't want to take Tylenol 3 just incase it didn't agree with other meds.

Just pouring, need to go to hospital and pick up my pillow and no sew blankie, left in such a hurry didn't even think of taking them with me, might call Ann to see if she wants to come with me but will check weather station first..

Why don't you have someone else pick up your things at the hospital Betty. That way you can REST. So happy to read you made it through the night okay.

Picking out sliding doors and cupboards I had to do on my own,
Bought lovely oilcloth for 5 tables, white/grey/black stripes, Will match colouring to a 't'..hate those pkgs of table cloths..next I'm stateside I will pick up green for curtains

Bought more beach fabric and they had commercial aprons for $3.99, need to make a friends mom an Alzheimer's fidget blanket but decided to do apron on instead seeng I haven't been up to it but promised..will work I'm sure and a lot less time I'll have to work on it! Also bought some nice beach fabric, want to make us travelling gals a beach chair cover up just incase I do go to New Orleans

Storms a brewing, just black out there, thundering like crazy, wind bending trees...better I listen to the news

hope Dianne is out of harms way..it's here but think it's widespread into her region.

I am covered in red welts again. Have been since Thurs. They have spread rather than go away. I have taken Benadryl, used Benadryl spray, after bite and compresses of baking soda. Nothing works. My whole face is swollen and a deep red.

Think I had better have a shower now before the power goes out.

Today is a good day. Young lady that was here to help with Vern, used to work with a do groomer. I asked her to catch the dogs and put one at a time in the sink for me. She said she could do better than that, she would wash them for me. That is when she said she had prior experience. That was a back saver, then she volunteered to walk the dogs. What a blessing. The cat Peanut goes for a walk with the dogs if she is out. She was out and the helper said half way the cat gave out so she carried the cat home and walked both dogs at the same time.

Vern's daughter has gotten the message loud and clear. When I answer the phone, which identifies it is her, I just walk over and hand the phone to her father. Last week she was talking to her Dad and he said she wanted to talk to me about something she felt needed to be done for him. I told him she had lost the privilege of speaking to me. Poor Vern did not know what to say. I asked him if he felt the two of us were doing the right thing and he stated, "Yes", so I told him we did not need outside interference except by medical individuals. When we were at the Neurologist, I told him about her turning me over to Senior Abuse. He was shocked and ask Vern what was wrong with his daughter. Vern said he guessed she over reacted. Dr. said, No, just very disrespectful and he as a doctor had no doubt he was being cared for at home.

Oh goodness... to those in need, prayers. Sharon, it is tough to see the decline. Like you said, it is harder to see the gradual changes when you are there each day.

Betty, so not really any closer to finding the source of the problems.

Some days I am so tired it's hard to load and unload DH's wheelchair from the truck. The truck is the easiest thing for HIM to get into but the hardest for me. I am not tall enough to just set my butt on the seat and swing legs in.

We had to cancel our father's day outing with my Dad, he was not feeling up to it. Had sis & husband here instead. I really should take a nap, THEN go see my Dad. there is always so much to do, and if I'm not careful, I don't get in to see Dad. I don't want THAT to happen.

I got a new printer early for my Bday and I asked son to install it for us as Father's day. It's been driving me crazy to have to sent things to son & have him print! YEAHHHHHHHH I have working awesome printer!

Betty, stay home and chill. After one week, you can worry about "Things". The most important things in life are not things. I have told you we all need your bright sunshine.

It is hot hit here again and we are staying in the house. I need to go pick some Sungold cherry tomatoes and I may have to wait until the sun is down and pick them by flashlight.

Linda, now I need to go look to see where Corpus Christi is.

Diane, that sound awful. It may be hot here in Las Vegas, but we do not have biting bugs except for an occasional spider.

Vern has decided he needs something to drink, so I will be right back.

Pat, I had a SUV that I gave to my daughter and bought a low Honda SUV. I can actually get in and out of it. I have a transportation wheelchair which is lighter. So far I can still get him in and out of the car but soon that is also going away. We are now down to one car. I bought it a year ago and it has 2780 miles on it. Sometimes I go a week without driving it. I really try not to have more than one appointment a week.

I just brushed both cats. OMG, never seen so much hair come off a cat. They are dumping hair because of the heat. Trees are dumping leaves. Hummers are bussing the KOI pond waterfall just about constantly.
