Good morning! So happy to see you post Betty. Tomorrow will be here quickly and then maybe the answers will come. I'm glad to read that your doctor is on top of things.
Karen that quilt is such a treasure. I just love it and smiled at the occasional footprints too. They really pulled it over on you and I know that must have been difficult. Praises for the kids for keeping quiet!!!
Sharon, i'm keeping Vern in my prayers along with Betty and anyone else that needs them. I'm thinking our Debbie hasn't posted in a while and I miss her and Dianne and Judy and Liz and - and - and-

Morning everyone !! Promise to be another wonderful day..

Going to work outside for an hour or so.....my body is making noises so I will listen. I see the NP for a physical and the injury to the rotor cuff in my right shoulder. Its a hurt.

Karen what a beautiful surprise !!!! I can just feel the love your grands and greats have for you.

Sending prayers and positive thoughts for all who are in need.. That covers all of us I think ......we all have something going on that we have to handle.

As our Debbie would say Bessie Lou you listen to all those docs and nurses.

Will rest and try again

Karen, I love that quilt. What an awesome surprise for sure.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Karen - all I can say is Wow - what a treasure indeed!!
Betty - rest rest & more rest. Obviously you're doing what you should be, and not trying to do too much. Good for you.

Bob & I are going to get the room cleaned, then move into the den - hooray!

Lyndonville, NY

She had posted to FB that she was feeling a bit better.

Most likely results tomorrow, and doc said if surgery is needed....will be done
ASAP.

I have been washing windows and cleaning house and the heat is finally up here to 88!

Making a salad to go with dinner of dogs and burgers.

I am just in a funk and worried about several friends....but Betty most.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Our heat hit 92 this afternoon. With humidity in the high 60s. I'm so not ready for such a quick change. It raises holy 4377 with my breathing. Supposed to be even higher tomorrow. An indoor day again for sure. Worked on Norm's cat again today and did a bit of reading. Nothing involving exertion. Does me in too quickly.
Have fabric for a new quilt top and hope the temps drop a bit so I can work on cutting out pieces.
Sending prayers and hugs and love.....

Nice that the priest was there to help her & to offer prayers to you for health as well.
You know that you have our prayers, too. Bless you, Betty.

Checking in this morning with my prayers Betty. Hope you get answers today. And that whatever the course of treatment, you will be up and running again quickly.
Got news that my Colorado family is coming east for a visit. Can't wait to see them....
Must do my machine --- waving~~~~~ to all.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning everyone,

Exciting new Barb about Colorado family arriving for a visit. Don't overdo..

Breakfast will be a day of wait and see and "ifs'

Hoping biopsy test results are in today asoped by dr.

I'd be so thankful if those 2 workers were dependable and come this morning

So fingers crossed!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Praying you get good results today Betty.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Good to see you Betty, you sound a bit stronger. Hoping the Dr has good news for you today.

We have a quiet spell now, no company or any where to go for almost two weeks. I do see my oncologist today but that visit is usually just routine to get my scrip renewed. I've been in remission for a good long while now.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you are better Barb,

Waving to all

Dr. Had nurse tell me that I have eschimic ?? (Colon) have to look it up.

When getting older veins get thinner and thinks happen

She said doctor will come around 6-7pm to discuss

More test need to be done as to weather the 20" is dead or will revive itself or if he will schedule an operation, won't know any of that until tonight when he comes in..I will have more details once he comes but he says I can go home later tonight...

Grrr had to kick my mom out, she was here at 9am, Sharon got here at 11, she wanted to stay till tonight when doc comes and ask questions, hello I'm 69 and I'm quite capable of asking correct questions, she left in a huff...

Likely be back on tonight when home

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I agree with Debbie, they are there, because they are concerned. Praying this can be corrected quickly.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Marilyn - thank you for the link - nice to know someone who has knowledge of these things, or at least how to look them up for us.
Betty - I agree, your family's only concern is for you & they want to make sure they're supportive. They aren't Drs, so they want to hear what's going on.
I hope you aren't having too much pain, and that it can be treated easily. God Bless you, Betty.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning. Waiting anxiously to read that Betty is home and hopefully can be treated with meds for this problem. If not, I hope any procedure can be dealt with quickly and with a minimum of down time. You must be chomping at the bit by now Betty. At least now you have a diagnosis and can go from there.
Temps have been in the mid 90s for a couple of days now and today is to be the same. Needless to say, I'm in the house all the time. The humidity raises such 4377 with my breathing.
Still working on Norm's cat. It is very slow going for it seems that every other stitch is a different color. I counted all the;changes on one of the 100 stitch blocks on the pattern and there were 27 different colored threads!!!
~~~ to all.
Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)
Oh my Barb, I could never sit still long enough to do even one 100 stitch blocks. Kudos to you.
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Waiting to hear from Betty as well.
Barb, i don't know how you do cross stitch without going cross-eyed.
I'll be back
Morning all,
Would love to respond to all of you but for now I'll just update ok??
Got home at 9:15 last night so went to bed as soon as I got in.
Mom being a mom kept talking about nothing in particular from her room, I'd just start napping and she would say something, I'd say I can't hear what you are saying, she would come sit on bed and tell me, back to her room, back to my room, not sure how many times she came in, last time she did was to tell me to watch CNN today, trump..big sigh, like I needed to know this, why?
Did not sleep well, tummy still not right, takes time
Mom left just before 9 and Darlene and workers got here a tad after 9
Showed workers what needs doing, Dar left and I'm on couch hopefully for all day!
Now report
Ischemic colitis
40 mm or 16 inches of colon badly inflamed, not dead, hoping blood will help keep it at bay. Said fix as per Doctor would be removing colon, know what that means..
For now he will keep monitoring me, have to watch what I eat to a degree, nuts, fruit with nuts, broccoli, etc.
Lyndonville, NY
Happy Birthday Linda Kay!
I hope it is a beautiful day for you!
Lots of birthday hugs
Glad to hear you are home Betty, please listen to the Dr, and make sure you get back to him if anything changes.
Thanks for the birthday wishes Debbie. Hard to believe I am 62. Where did the time go?
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)
Happy Birthday, Linda Kay! Hope it's a great one!!
Betty - nice to be home in your own wee bed. I'm confused though - Dr's given you meds to hopefully that, and change in diet will fix the colon, but you also said "remove colon" which sounds like surgery. You're at home now & resting, so that's great. Was the Dr saying if the diet doesn't work, the next step would be surgery, IF and Only IF diet doesn't work? *Hugs* and prayers that you get the rest you need.
Victoria Harbour, ON
If it doesn't subside it means an operation which he does not want to do right now
Yummy, so wish I could share a slice with you
Happy Birthday, Linda Kay!
(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)
Happy Birthday Linda Kay!!! And best wishes for many many more.
Glad to know you are at home Betty but sure do hope you will take it easy. I know how hard it must be to want to tell Mom to just leave you alone and let you get the rest. It's a catch 22 - darned if you do and darned if you don't.....
Betty, I am so happy you are home and no surgery is scheduled. It is something diet can fix if you adhere to it. My brother had the same problem. Kentucky Fried Chicken was one of the things that set his off so you should probably avoid that. Probably should try a soft diet for a few days to give the colon a rest. I am not a doctor but that is what Dr. Google said...LOL.
Happy Birthday Linda. Wow, 62 is just a baby.
Vern is better today but still not well. I have been feeding him and giving him Pedialyte. I truly think he is dehydrated. It is very difficult to get him to drink. I ordered some Pedialyte Popsicles from Amazon. Maybe he will enjoy it that way. I cooked some stir fry vegs last night, which chicken, over white rice and he ate more than he has for months. He has an appointment with our internist next Wednesday. He is very disappointed that it will take that long to get in to see the doctor. I think he thinks the Dr. has a magic wand and will make him feel better.
When I stir fried the vegs last night I used the burner next to the BBQ. Accomplished two things. Didnt mess up the kitchen and had some outside time.
Betty, please take care. Wish I could send you some of my ripe tomatoes but you would need to remove the seeds.
Hugs to you all.
Lyndonville, NY
Well, You are all not going to like this update.
Sharon messaged me about 10:30. Betty started vomiting again today, and got worse. She ended up calling the ambulance and going back to the hospital...where she is. Melanie called Sharon to tell her.......and at last update Greg was at the hospital with her.
We need our prayer warriors big time. Lots of arm wraps as Judy says.
Debbie
Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)
That is why I woke up in the middle of the night. My prayers are being said and I am sending as many angels as she needs. My brother had a very strict diet with most food in a shake, gelatins, puddings and such. His Doctor said his colon needed a big time rest. He went to Mayo Clinic back East. There fixed him..He would eat and in less than 10 minutes it was running out of him.
So sweet Betty, take care, rest, we are there in the room with you. Just feel our presence and love. Sharon
(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)
Sending my love and prayers also this morning. I'm so glad you had the presence of mind to call for help. I think this time you may need to stay there until this problem is corrected. Maybe the operation is the right answer.
