Been off line and didn't know until now. I'm so sorry about your DGD. Sending prayers too Karen that she will pull through just fine. As we have seen with Betty, these things do take time.
Only on for a minute but sending love and prayers to all...
Was worried about you and norm Barb, hope you are both doing fine..miss you
Yes, takes mega time , been 4 months and some days I fell I'm worse instead of better..just know the doc will say I'm expecting too much with all that has come my way since my fall that it is to be expected.
Going to have breakfast then search upstairs for a bag I'm sure I hid when the were packing up so I could work on the wolf project but so far no can find..hoping I didn't pack it up for value Village lol
That is lovely, Betty - what is thread painting?
Karen - haven't heard from you - hope things are well with your DGD *Hugs & Prayers*
Barb - how are you & Norm?
DGD released today. Echo cardiogram did not show reason her heart rate slows down so much. She will have to see cardiologist for further testing, her heart rate was slowing to 40-50 and occasionally as low as 30.
She is still experiencing dizziness and Dr. says it can take 6 months for concussion damage to heal.
DD will be watching her carefully.
Glad she is home..and could be a year or so..
Such a long time when you are young, she'll,get exasperated at times but she is alive, can't get better than that!
Bet you feel better
No storms here, they were 5 hours north of us.
Glad to hear she is going home Karen.
Glad you are safe lindakay..been raining all day, wind is up..calling for heavy rain tomorrow,as long as power doesn't go out I'm ok.
Rita just called she is spending the night, shouldbehere around 6:30..she has meetings in area tmr, then 3:30 meeting with roadtrip group then parry sound for Tuesday and home Wednesday..think she is looking at a cottage to buy in cottage country.
Omg can't believe I'm up this late, blaming Rita for us chatting lol
Wasn't prepared for girls on roadtrip concerned about going stateside..safety being an issue, this never came up before
Betty, are they concerned for your safety? Getting hurt again?
No lindakay, safety of all with all the potential of wars, bombs and unrest amongst the nation..
Worry warts but hear so many Canadian selling off their homes in the south, shoppers saying stay in Canada and the likes, so although I have 3 options stateside I will quickly look for a Canadian option
Raining here, guys just came to work on basement
Looks like I'll be car shopping. My van "threw a rod", so that's the end of that. I've got my daughter's car for most of this week, and a co-worker offered me her "winter car" to borrow, so I don't have to rush in to anything. Looking at the Ford Transit vans, but need to do some shopping around first.
OH NO! Sorry to hear that.
Darts, not good Deb..have to go see what Ford transit is..guess with your show dogs you need a big vehicle.
Sid some debating, should I shouldn't I, needed up I should so I pick up new car tomorrow..doc appointment at 2pm then I will head to Barrie and pick it up.
Girls were here..nice visit
Think I'll go next dapper, pick up something sweet as a treat then hot bath..torrential rain here so I think that is what is tiring me out..
Dianne, you getting the same weather?
Can't wait to see your new car.
DGD is very healthy and athletic. Her mom, who's b'day is today, is a believer in healthy eating. She's also athletic and participates in track & field. All that should be in her favor. The boy was treated for a few cuts & bruises and releases right after. I'm hoping this has been a good lesson for him in safer driving. It's something we call a Cosmic Two By Four...hoping it knocked in some sense. Also for DGD to just not hop into any ones car.
I woke up yesterday with a very painful foot. It hurt on the top and was just a tiny bit swollen . It was almost impossible for me to walk by evening. This morning extremely sore and swollen, hubby took me to Urgent care. I spent the day finding out what it wasn't. Nearly half the day sitting in a wheel chair must have been just what was needed as the swelling is nearly gone, and pain is much much less. Hoping tomorrow I will be able to make my way upstairs and sew a while. Dr. prescribed a pain killer and before I got home, he called and said he had checked my records and not to take it. Good thing it seems to be healing on it's own. I know I didn't do a thing to injure it as it was fine through the night and very sore by the time I got up.
Ladies and dear friends - I hope you're having a better day of it now - take a deep breath and know that I am praying for your day to improve.
Doing wallpapering of one long wall - been years (about 18) since I've wallpapered before. Takes some precision, I can tell you! Good thing it's top of the line wallpaper that I bought at a friend's yard sale many years back and fell in love with it. Brown peacock feathers :-)
Morning everyone, rise and shine while the sun is out.
Susan, you must post photo's of your wall papering..did a lot of it in my day but think I'd now buy a pattern that there is no need to match design.
Girls will arrive shortly, we will be cramped but best I can do and I know they understand..
Subfloor is all out, now I wait for team that comes to rebuild, patience I will need
I did purge paint though, will do same with the boxes of paints in storage
Doctors appt at 2 re my noggin and body pain
Oops girls are here
Susan, I can't wait to see your pretty wallpaper.
Let us know what the Dr. says Betty.
Still have the flooring to put in (laminate) and then the panelling on the last wall. Should be done in short order!
Oh Susan, that is very pretty.
Great going Susan, love it, how exciting for you..
Went to see the doc, as I figured he told me that I'm overtaxing my brain, thus confusion when talking at times/loss of words and short term memory..says all stems from my fall, the concussion/blood bleed and just accept it..saw how I was walking, more pain mess and a handicap sticker for car..imagine me with a handicap sticker..I'll be using it only when it's absolutely a must.
Then went and picked up new wheels, like it..omg, imagine having wifi in a car. Lol
So all and all I'm tired, going to pour my bath, make a hot chocolate then to bed..
Nice job Susan. I could not picture peacock feather wallpaper at all but that is really pretty. The paneling will finish off the room nicely.
Sorry to read that you are still having problems Betty. Having the placard is not so bad. It took me a while to realize that the one I got was for my own good. We only park there if I am going into a store. It does give you more strength to use shopping rather than walking into and out of the store. So I guess it comes down to which is more important. I chose quality of life and being able to shop when I can..... The hardest part was realizing that I was human and subject to human frailties.
Been reading quite a bit lately. The weather has been on/off again rain for the past week and a half and more of the same through next week. When it is gray and dreary, I just don't want to work on anything demanding. I still need to sew on buttons for the sweater now that it is all put together. I have a quilt top in the works and Norm's cat. They all got put aside last week.
Norm has started his cardiac rehab. He loves it. He is going back to work on the 15th on a limited basis. He will still do his rehab M
Morning all, dull day out there, calling for high of 47 today, weather warning that starting tomorrow 5 days of heavy rain and advising that ground won't be able to absorb it..this means likely a lot more floods so more calls for Service Master to address the needs of others, can see wh y they said likely will take 2 months to finish my work..have to call my contact person, few questions need to ask.
I too Barb wondered about peacock feathers as wallpaper but it looks lovely and the wall panels will add a richness to it..how long before floors are done, will you do it yourselves? I still want to know a tad more about the waterproof friction boards, hate to invest mega $$ to find out they lift.
Deb, have you made any more decisions as to which dog to keep as they soon will have new homes and if you will use your daughter's vehicle or purchase another?
Think our Debbie is out every day snapping beautiful photos..Debbie you mustpist what you thinks the best of the day as we love seeing your photo's.
Karen, how is the foot?
Lindakay, photo's of your gardens please..
So pleased to see you post Barb was starting to fret, what great news on Norm's progress, hard to believe he can return to work so quickly, am sure not soon enough for his employer! New quilt project is for your room right? At the rate you are doing the Cat you will be able to have it mounted for norm for Christmas.
As for the handicap sticker it days when it's been so wet/cold that bones act up..bet when I'm back in New Orleans I'll be dancing jig with the bests them 🤣
Haven't seen since week of flood, 2 weeks so am hoping to pick up something today, once I start I'm hoping to get the sewing bug again.
Guess I'd best get dressed incase workers come to work on putting subfloor..that and I have to check bank accounts, think earlier mentioned that we picked New Orleans/Memohis\nashville again for our summer trip, well after we picked and while girls were here I called to book General Jackson dinner cruise, gave hermy card, said denied, told her it couldn't be, gave her another, denied again, now imnot happy, both were for td bank so I gave her a master card, no go, darts, Rita handed me her card, they said also denied..at this point she said, hmm we must have a glitch, do you think??
Well yesterday morning I was doing my monthly banking, saw charge was processed on each of the cards, called, said charge would come off but our cruise was not made, so again I had to give a credit card to book so must stay on top of this stupidity.
With all rain coming must call township re ditch
Busy busy
Have a fun day, back in a bit
Know I have missed someone, forgive me please, mind all over
Still haven't decided on which puppy. I kind of have it narrowed down, but still not sure.
Don't think I'll have my daughter's car too much longer, she still needs it, but a friend at work offered to loan me her "winter car". I visited one dealer on Monday, they only had one van, test drove it, but it's white, and I really didn't want white, and just didn't like the salesman, plus that one had seating for 15, which means more seats to store in my garage. I'd like the one that's a little shorter (I think it seats 10). There's a couple we're going to see today after work, but they're the long ones. I found one of the shorter ones, but again in white, that I may still go test drive. The shorter ones are hard to find, and any are hard to find in anything but white. There is one downstate, that I may take a drive to see on the weekend, if I still have my daughter's car.
My foot is fine, it seems to have gotten better as quickly as it started hurting. Seems it might have been gout as that is how it acts.
I also have the handicap card and also the permanent license plate. The card I keep in my purse in case I'm with someone else. I like the challenge of walking but truth is if I do too much my legs cramp and buckle under me. I can usually manage one large store OK but if we are going to multiple places, I use the electric carts.
On nice days I take Lolli for walks in her stroller. She loves being out and the neighbors are getting to meet her. Walking a bit and resting and chatting a bit seems to suit us both. She's very outgoing and loves the attention.
Omg gout? You certainly don't need a bout of it..there is a needle you can get is there not or am I thinking of shingles? Maybe you pulled a muscle..little Lolli is lucky she has a great gram like you.
I've been on chesterfield most of the day..soon they will hang a sign that says couch potato
Could so have a nap but have a perm appt at 4:30

Thank you for the comments on the peacock wallpaper - I feel it adds a richness that I'm striving for - the 2 painted walls & panelling will tone it down so it's not "busy".
Bob's going to clean off the floor of drywall mud, then we can install the laminate. We've installed engineered hardwood - this will be easier, no "kicker" to have to use, just "click" lol
After flooring, we'll put on the panelling - hope it matches in size, without having to do much cutting.
I have a temporary Handicapped card but never thought of carrying it in my purse. Good idea. I hope to not have it once healed from my next replacement - we shall see.

I have both a tag and a card. I use the card when I am in a different vehicle. When Norm has the car alone, he never uses the handicapped spots. We had a lady arrested here in NH for illegally using a handicapped spot for over seven years. As long as she had a placard in her window, nobody ever checked it but an alert new parking attendant watched her for several days and called police. The card she had had been stolen.... They figured she should owe close to $5000.00 in lost revenue to the city.....Some people will do anything..
Morning all, bad weather is a coming..it's a dreary day for sure. Think many of opus are having same weather..flooding an issue in many local towns.
waiting for Service Master to come this morning, Roger the overseer has paper work for me to sign saying I'm giving them the ok to oversee the project, once I do that Paul will. Designate the steps and give me a figure for replacement of flooring, cupboards and misc articles. They said approx 2 month process, already it will be 2 weeks tomorrow since the flood, time will pass quickly.
How is the weather in your area?
Deb, that is some vehicle you are getting, imagine you need something that big to be able to carry the dogs..Lordy, you would need a garage justor storing seats..isnt there a type of van that the seats fold into the floor? might be worth a trip to look for exactly the model you want, an outing for the weekend.
Coffee time
Hubby will often drop me at door and go park in a regular spot, especially if there aren't many. Same with the ride ons, I walk as much as I can, I feel it's important, but he will go get me the rider if I need it. I don't need the embarrassment of falling in public.
Well Hello and Good Day!!
I'm back, lol
Doing fine, just trying to keep busy, busy. Had a three time cleaning job in JHC and now DH has another big job, so my view will be the same but a better view of the beach line!! I cleaned that lady's house again and now she will want me back in June sometime. In the meantime, lots and lots of purging continues...It's again to do the paper sort. But in the meantime, working on a couple of blankets for 2 little girls, whew finally i have a deadline to work with June.
We have our first renters of the season. It was pretty nice, went to the lake house and did a good cleaning there. Thank goodness it wasn't horrible, really it was just a major dusting out winter dust. My DB/SIL came for a quick get away, so it was awesome to visit.
Eye popper! my subscription expired and I had made a really hard decision to not re-subscribe. Well, don't you know, I missed you all so much. That other site and not the garden sites just don't do it for me. I don't really do much on any computers these past months...lol, unless it's playing the Words game.
Well anyways, I wanted to know what was going on with Betty and your disaster, geesh so sorry this happened. looks like good progress being made though...
Well i have a few slight issues of my own. What is most upsetting is this happened right in my own kitchen. While cleaning a cast iron pan, boiling hot water splashed up onto my face, I'm OK and then I came real close to stabbing myself in the face with a butcher knife...it was not hanging correctly and i somehow hit the hilt, instinct hit and i jumped back as the blade come about an inch from eye!! LOL, I'm trying to stay clear of that room.
Other than that trying to be have.
Not sure if i told you but Julia is having a Girl!!
I'm planning a baby shower, hoping it will a beautiful weekend so we can have it outside, so on nice days working of yard clean up...
Well, I got to skiddaddal...Birds to feed and i am going to try and finish a project!
OhH...
Dianne and the TH, Guess what I did for relaxation and I actually finished it.
And, it really does glow in the dark!! I intend on gluing it and hang it somewhere in my room. So Thank you again, it was fun and as you can see by the crazy shapes kept me quite occupied and smoke free for Hours and Hours. It took about 3 weeks
Oh my gosh, Deb, The puppies are adorable for sure!! Are you selling them?
Waiving to EVERYONE, sending Armwraps and lots of prayers and good vibes...
Big cheesy grin, so your all stuck with and without me for another year, why?
Because I love ya's!
Well that and how will i get my Santa Warren name at Christmas time.
Alright I better really get to something now.
Oh my Gosh Stay dry and safe
So glad you couldn't do without us we missed you. Please stay out of the kitchen!
Jumpin' up and down, glad you missed us!
Ahhh little girl, she will be one spoilt little one if I know her grandma and grandpa.
Sounds as though Steve is keeping you busy but at least he is giving you work in a room with a view...remember how breathtaking it was when Steve and you gave me a tour, more than once..
Oh Judy, You are a lucky lady, the knife and boiling water could have been disastrous.
Love the puzzle, I'm going to be doing similar wolf but in fabric..been awhile since I've done a puzzle, must get one.
Not sure what is going on at Corey's across the street, cars pulling in, people crying and holding each other..looks like bad news.
Still waiting for Roger -Service Master, should have asked when he was coming today instead of waiting around.
Kyle dropped in, checking out how I like my new wheels, heck I only drove it home lol
He said march he was 3rd, April 2nd for most car sales at his dealership..he certainly was professional when dealing with him,but then I'm biased right?
