Thanks Debbie, not set up yet, they will come Monday with a team. To pack up everything
Omg they are efficient
Just send a man to see if any water in my new furnace
Just called, delivering a storage pod this evening so they are ready for Monday morning.
Oh Betty!!! This sounds like what happened to us. BUT our basement is just concrete and nothing down there to get damaged as in yours. DH keeps all tools off the floor, and the other stuff was really just storage and went to trash. We had the town bring pump to do it....the Supervisor lives across the way.
This is just so sad. Did your loveseat and seating get ruined also? Thank heavens only 2 inches.....its enough. BUT more would have been worse. Keep fans on, You do not need mold damage and your allergice/pneumonia.
Well these are mega commercial fans they put in..they will work until Monday..so much stuff under staircase, much ruined I believe..I'll have pen/Paper marketing everything down
Don't know if they will, they mentioned that I could have access to pod, if not too big I'll ask if it can stay in the yard that way if I need fabric/patterns, supplies etc I can just go in it, said it could be 2 months before I'm back to normal..I will see how big pod is when it ge ts here tonight
OH NO! Sorry that happened Betty, but glad you caught it before more water spilled.
I take it your sump pump did not work?
Had nothing to do with sump pump area, the room that houses the hot water tank is under staircase , enclosed room of its own, didn't make its way to laundry room
As for sump pump works great..I put 2 motors and a battery operated one and bought a big generator incase power is out for any length of time...who would imagine a water heater bladder would bust and continual water leak from the top
It happens all the time. Ours broke a few years ago, but the person that built this house, placed it outside, just out the back door. When it broke, it just watered the yard.
Maybe that is a solution but doubt it for me unless,it was a heated room because of our winters.
Calling it a night..they just delivered the pod, seems it stays here till job done and so I can get in and out so best they put my fabric close to back, door lol
Oh Betty - how horrific for you to find that much water all over your basement craft room! On the "up side" you now don't have to go up and down stairs to do your crafts, you can now just go from bedroom to craft room lol
Bob always enjoyed working for Service Master - different dept and different city, but same work ethic. Glad they're doing well by you!
Off to the dentist to get a broken tooth fixed. I HATE dentist!
ouch on the work on your tooth, and the cost!!
AWE! Those babies are so cute.
I had to have the tooth pulled. It was my eye tooth that I had a root canal done a year ago. It broke up inside the tooth, and was not repairable. So when this heals, I go back and start the process of getting a permanent bridge.
My sympathies LK I too hate the dentist. Only person to treat me kindly was the oral surgeon who knocked me out!!!!!!
Puppies! Oohhhhh that black one reminds me of my Izzy! And the white one soooo cute! What breed are they?
Betty, be safe tomorrow if you travel!
LindaKay...sorry about the tooth. I am big fearful of dentist. Would rather have a child!
Hope everyone is doing fine. I am home alone and enjoying it all.
Evening all,
Quite the day..
Went to my thread painting class, the practice pieces turned out ok, I can see how I could apply it to different projects.
Left barrie at 4 after my class and got to Buffalo at 6pm, went out for supper, few stores and now settled in bed..too tired to even take a bath, Linda same.
We decided to call it a day so we can enjoy tomorrow.
Sorry to hear about the tooth lindakay, think I've said it before..aooo glad as I'm older that I have plates, have had them since late teens.
Ahh Deb, they are too adorable, would be difficult trying to decide which one I'd want..are you keeping 1?
Susan/Barb, water stopped up, commercial fans on, storage pod in the yard..team of men don't come till Monday to remove everything.
Debbie, glad you are enjoying a quiet evening..is Paul gone to see his dad? How is his dad doing
Night night
Yes, planning on keeping one pup, but not sure which one!
Debbie, they're afghan hounds.
Been putting off a dentist appt since the fall, know I need to go, but I just hate going.
That looks neat Betty, I think it's something I would enjoy.
Awwww Afghans. saw one in FL once running on the beach with it's person. Looked so elegant.
Looks like you all had a great time in the class Betty.
Where do you get your tunic tops? I can't find anything here like that.
Evening all...
I'm one tired gal
Thanks for all your help girls, sure is appreciated.
Sue, what a beautiful quilt, just love it..they have something similar at our fabric stores, think I will hpjoin one seeing the ones you've all done are soreathtaking..must you do a block a month? Do you know what the design will be at the beginning or is it a secret?
Big sigh, Noah said Enbridge came to put new water heater in, saw that the main line tap looked rusty so wouldn't touch it , no installation..I'm to phone the municipality early tomorrow morning for them to shut main water valve off at the road, then call a plumber to come and put in new shut off valve switch on, then have township turn on water back on so enbridge can come install
the new water heater and all by 11am..doubtful cam get all that done
Here I thought I'd have a hot bath then to bed, NOT going to happen grrr
Do you mean the top I had on lindakay? Bought it at Walmart. $17.99
Deb, went back to look at those puppies, what a hard choice to make..which is most like the afghan colouring

Afternoon everyone..
What a morning
Waiting for municipality to turn off water at the main, plumber to arrive shortly after 1..once he leaves then a call to township for turn water back on..enbridge gas will only come in the morning for new tank..sure aren't nice people to deal with..
On he other hand never saw anybody as helpful as Service Master
Even got me set up inback bedroom..bedroom seton storage pod and itsnow my sewing room
Sunshine day out there
Ohhh to sew in the sunshine in that room! You may just like to keep it up there.
I have always loved that room and the view, lighting!!!
Did you get the umbrella?
Lovely, township is here, main water main has been hit somehow and bent, not sure they can shut it off?? Now what, breathe deep Betty
Debbie, yes lovely sunshine but too small..got to keep it for company!
Yes did get umbrella, transit and Broadway store..few extra things came home with me. Lol
Good afternoon everyone.
Sunny but chilly.
I've been throwing blocks of wood this morning. I need to get a handle on what I have right now so I can see if I need to order more logs. Perfect weather for me. To complicate things with the wood it is in 3 areas. We don't cut or split near the house so I don't have to chase sawdust around all winter.
Can't remember if I told you but I took Chaos to the vet for his shots on Thurs. After the fiasco of last time I let Diesel go into the Escape first and Chaos followed him right into the truck. While we were in the waiting room there was a German Rotti puppy called Mia. Both Chaos and I were smitten. Mia's mother asked if I would be interested in some play dates. Of course!!!! They live on a busy township road and don't have a fence. Mia will have a blast here.
Oh Betty what a mess for you to have to face. One year in the farm house and Warren was doing a show in Ottawa I had much the same experience. I had asked W why the furnace was on blocks. I had to bail it all up the stairs to get it outside. A couple of neighbours helped but we couldn't keep up. Finally with water almost to my knees I wired up the sump pump - by that time I could care less if I was going to get shocked.
How are you and Norm doing Barb ?
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather and the day.
Dianne and her TH
They may have to shut off the water for your entire neighborhood to be able to fix the shut off. That happened to me last year. City had to put in a new water meter at my house, and had to shut off the water. They had an entire crew out looking for the shut off because the first guys couldn't find it. I guess when they widened the road, my shut off ended up under the right lane. Quite a large area of the neighborhood had their water shut off so the city could give me a new shut off for my house!
Oh my word!!! Time to lock the door and go someplace happy.
Betty, I am thinking.....do I remember a accident out front awhile back? Perhaps with a truck? You looked out and saw lights everywhere? My memory is going...but that rings a bell
Township just sent for parts, old switch, went to pull it and end came off..they will now dig, cut old. Tube and switch off and replace..meanwhile carpenters plumbing is here, trying to get done what the can get done then have township turn water back on..shaking my head
I would say the clean up crew will only finish by day's end doing craft room..so sad how much I have in there, likely will never use 1/2 of it but it's expensive stuff..maybe when all is done some will not come back in, too tired right now to decide what I'll keep
Dianne, looks like we've all had these problems
Great that play dates will be set up
Oops being called
I should be there....you know, to assist them...and take pictures. Hehehe
If you get rid of any smaller machines I can handle, let me know...would gladly purchase...with lessons!
At least you have nice eye candy to look at!
You gals, bring out handsome men and there you are, ready to help. Lol
I'm so very sore, thought ok I will boil pots pots of water and take bath, as it happens no water in washroom, re tub, not sure, zinc and washroom and kitchen has it?? I'm beyond trying to figure it out...😏
If I wasn't paining so much I think I'd go to Greg ..hmm maybe hot tub would do wonders
Hot tub might be just what you need Betty.
Betty I hear a motel/hotel calling your name.
What a gem LK!!!!!! And at such a price!!!!! I'll bet it sews beautifully.....
He says it does, I haven't seen it yet. It looks like it needs a good cleaning.
I bought an older machine that had hardened grease underneath. Hoppe's gun oil cleaned it right up.
What a find lindakay, even if it didn't work what a treasure to have on a shelf in a craft room (hint hint)
LindaKay - that looks like the treadle sewing machine my mom used to have, and my grandma used to heal up from her hip surgery - helped a great amount.
What a wonderful find!!
