Its up to 25f here....and the snow which I apparently wished for...is falling.

Took Sam out at 5:30 and by 7:00 all previous tracks had been totally covered.

DH is at his parents to help his dad....went to the hospital first to see his mom They did some testing and waiting for results on those. I do believe they started her on blood thinners also.

Stay safe and warm ....or COOL as in Linda's case. lol

Verona, ON

Snowing heavily here. The TH came in and their backs were white. I am thinking Betty is getting this snow or has already had it.

If the plow guy doesn't come in tonight the lane should be easier to get out.I need some things in the village but it won't be the end of the world if I can't get out.

Debbie had your MIL had heart problems before? Glad Paul went to help his dad.

LK your temp sounds wonderful. Although I do enjoy cooler temps. The other day I ran out in my bare feet to get a parcel and the courier driver asked me if I was nuts....lol I told him the snow felt as good on my feet as sand.

SHARON< SHARON sorry for the caps but I thought if I yelled you would send your sleep angels to Debbie and I.

Stay safe and warm everyone
Dianne and her TH

No this is the first time. His brother....who is about 8 years younger than DH just had clots in his legs. MIL had some tests and scans done. Seems a larger clot in her right leg is breaking off clots....and sent them to her lungs. She has started treatment.

I might actually sleep with him gone....I will have room for Huck on the bed and not on my head too. He wants held all night.

Axl isn't feeling well and loosing weight...he goes the vet at 10:00 tomorrow morning.
Sure hope snow stops as I can't run the snowblower...its toooooo big I do have 4 wheel drive and I backed in....so hope its straight out

Verona, ON

Debbie I was just thinking about Huck the last couple of days. Glad he gets to cuddle with momma tonight.

Still snowing quite heavily. Things look so much cleaner with the new snow on it.

I was tired but made the mistake of turning on the TV. On A&E there is a program titled Live PD. I just should have read for bit - now I am wide awake. lol

Your gabbing woke me up Debbie and Dianne, not really, the wind howling did, so not nice here, guess we are all under snow band..

Debbie, sending prayers for your mil,you be careful with that snowblower, don't know,if blurred vision made me see things but checkin Buffalo weather says next weekend will be 54? Hmm maybe I was reading lindakay's low. Lol. Lucky lady having 77

Dianne, bare feet, you will catch a death of cold...I'm watching spy movie, jack reacher..was thinking of getting up, maybe coffee, bowl of jello/whip cream might relax me and want to fall asleep

Wonder how Susan made out with her walk

Deb,, how is the mom to be doing?

Hate to think,of Sharon driving to NYC early morning, she usually flies but now that she gets Inuk to and fro from the shows she decided to drive with a friendm
Promised myself before I play in craft room I have to take on a project, because I have a headache this morning it will have to be something light ho also has a gig in competition..she will get your storm Debbie

Morning,

High of 36F today,mejust saw a warning that mega snowfall for tomorrow, front coming in from Colorado so getting ready for Barrie, do groceries, maybe even a stop at tmbrmart for wood.

Been out shovelling, saw the bakery was open so bad me, bought apple fritters because Barb mentioned them the other day, not sure about extra icing they put on them..so many goodies and home cooked meals, can see I'll be putting on the beef.

Just waiting for Andrew to come plow me out then off I go..would love to be home by noon or so

Barb, here is one for you and Norm, maybe not timmies apple fritters but am sure they are yummy..

That looks so good Betty!!!! We have banana bread this morning, lightly buttered and then warmed in the micro for just a tad to bring out the flavor. Hit the spot!!!!

We got about two more inches of snow overnight on top of the 11" we got on Thursday but are expecting 12-18" Sunday night into Monday. And when is Norm's consult with the cardiologist? Of course it is Monday morning. Must wait to see if it gets cancelled..... He is getting more nervous about it as time passes. Not good. He is one of those that when something is wrong, find it and take care of it---NOW. He has no patience and the doctor didn't help when the only thing he said after the stress test was "your heart isn't normal - no shoveling"...... And it really gets to him to see someone else, our wonderful neighbor, doing all the outside work. He cleans the cars, shovels and de-ices for us...... We really are lucky and Norm acknowledges that but he hates knowing he isn't the one doing the work.... Betty, you know how he is - needs to jump in and do whatever needs to be done.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Betty , that apple fritter looks sooooo good. There was a recipe on FB for apple fritter bread. I made it for our Christmas brunch and it was wonderful.

Diane I had to laugh at your bare feet in the snow. My grandsons do it all the time. But..look here I actually caught hubby...

Happy, happy birthday Judy !! The Th and I wish you peace, love, health and happiness. Big smooches from the TH. Huge hugs from me.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy Birthday Judy, hope it's a sunshine day for you and that you are being spoilt..know you don't just celebrate this day but all month long, good for you if you can get away with it. Lol. Anything special in the works with family to celebrate.

Very slushy outside, roads were good to and from Barrie..did groceries at foodland, coming down the hill on my streets plow truck backed out full forced from the drive, I saw him, he didn't see me, managed to put myself in the snow bank, deep enough couldn't open my front door but luckily he finally saw me, stopped inches from me..came and asked if I was ok, apologized and said he would pull me out..hooked up to my hitch and minutes later we were gabbing..said if he had to almost hit someone he was glad it was me seeing we knew each other..I said we know each other?? He told me his name, he was one of the brats from teen dance, local drunk, my kids age..when he told me his name I just squeezed/hugged him so darn tight..here he was clean shave, ever so good looking, said he turned his life totally around about 3 years ago,,said he is now trying to encourage others..doing very well

After chatting quite awhile I went to leave, oops he hadn't disconnected my car. Lol

Dropped into Canadian tire for hooks and ended up coming out with a 9 cubes totals display..hoping dimensions are ok for my ironing board that. Want storage as well..I will either have to add to the unit to make it tall enough or have some cut off..white so would mat hall the other cupboards, now to put it together.

Karen, must have tough under soles..lol

Want to be energetic but

Hi..
Thank you!!
Today is a good day to take it easy.
I've been crazy busy working on this house...
But I am completely moved from the great room, Thursday: did a deep cleaning. Pulled out the piano even! lol, well Jake did.
So, I've read everything/everywhere and my mind is blown up! LOL.
Thank Goodness I get my laptop back tomorrow...lots to share!

Anyway today, I'm doing a Pamper me day...finishing up a mask and choose what to do for Dinner clothes...Somethings says, casual but pretty, lol. Going to watch a movie and paint my nails. Giggle, giggle, Yep going all out for 55, hmmm, thinking cool braids and I'm ready for Dinner going to an Irish Pub! Other then that doing what I hated as a kid, lol. I'm going to my room, my new favorite hangout...dubbed my Babe Cave, roflol.
Hope you all enjoy the day.
And Thank you again for the Birthday wishes, hugs and TH smooches!

Oh, P.S. Was so sorry to hear about Gramma Ruby. Wow, in fact I just found the picture of her and Gita Armwrapping each other for me! And her Applesauce cake recipe too!! She was just so sweet.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, so glad to hear you did not have damage to your car, and you avoided an accident. Amazing how long it takes some to turn their lives around.

Judy, enjoy your day! Sounds like a good one.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thought afterwards, providing I didn't get injured I might have had to buy new car. Lol

Judy, enjoy your evening,,Irish club sounds like you could have a good time...yes, Ruby will be missed.

Liz, you still working Saturdays? Have to go back and see if I've your right address to send the lantern kits to

Body has been aching big time, likely weather..tools meds,hot bath and in jammies, so wanted to put that cube together but unless you kick me off the couch not going to happen. Lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

You have that cube done yet? :)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb meant to ask how re you getting norm to listen to the doctor?? Hope weather doesn't stop him from seeing specialist..not a wonder he wants to know exactly what is going on..you are blessed with such a good neighbour.

Did try to get energetic, managed to get pieces out of the box and instructions to read. Lol

no betty not working on weekends seems weird to me, I actually liked having sun/wed off but my new boss he is such a sweetheart says he would rather me be there when he is there.
it is the Hayward address ill dmail it to you shortly

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good news Liz, been a long time since you had weekends..is Kenny working or has he retired..

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Dianne - thanks for asking re: walk on Thurs. It felt good to get out. It was lovely & sunny both ways. More tiring walking there than the return. Visiting with Adrianna was good. I didn't get to work on the cross stitch. It's 14 count and too tiny for me to see. However, I found my magnifying craft glasses and will try again. I got all the yarn wound onto the little cards today.
Pat - what's happening with Ben - will he be coming home soon?
Judy - Happy Belated Birthday! Enjoy your Babe Cave time!!
Betty - Not nice about the almost accident scare, but how nice to meet up with someone and see how they turned around their life!

Didn't have a great sleep last night, so today I elevated my leg, icing it, and read until I fell asleep for a bit. Leg's feeling somewhat better now.
Yes, I'm doing my exercises. Waiting to hear back from the hospital re: physio.
OT came by to pick up rentals for those items I now own. Those items that I won't get permanently she left the rentals. She showed me how to get in & out of the tub with the new bath seat. Guess I won't need the bath rail (I have a horizontal & vertical one at back & side which we installed years ago), so when I let her know we'll return it, too.
Well, guess it's time to make dinner - I've been slowly working on making dinner - giving Bob a break while he's ramping up work on the den.
It's a simple dinner - oven fried onion rings, frozen veggies and sausages, so I'm not standing long in one place. Walking's easier than standing still.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Weather warning out, major snowfall today, snowmobiles will be out enjoying for sure.

Couldn't sleep all night, after watching 2 Valentine's Day mushy movies, decided to get up noises in the head. Ugh

Hope coffee, apple fritter and meds will do the trick, can always go to bed and rest later

Susan, sounds like you are in the mend, more good days/less bad days=good healing.

Barb, hoping this weather mSs passes you only.

Pat, the extra days until Ben comes home will allow you to get those unfinished projects done.

Judy, tell us about your birthday celebration at the Irish club

Gabbed with Sharon last night, they are 3 1/2 hrs away from NYC, didn't encounter any snow,am hope today' drive is the same. Will give her most of the day to focus on Inuk

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

We are just waiting for it to start here Betty. Expecting 8-16" of snow and lasting all through tomorrow. I'm thinking they will cancel Norm's appointment but we will wait until the last minute if we need to cancel on our end. The hospital where the consult is to be held in about a half hour away.
~~~to all and will keep up as I can....
Victoria Harbour, ON
Same happening here Barb, just starting to snow..an indoor day for me and imagine same for a few of us. Although his appointment is but 1/2 hr away it's still too far with blizzard conditions...here is hoping wind stays down.
Taking a break, been working diwnstairs several hours..everything in my craft room clean up, unit I put together was so darn easy and does exactly what I wanted it to do, only had to reposition 2 little pieces of wood at each end and voila, storage under ironing board. Going to pick up hooks of sor for end of cabinet so that I can hang all my rollers, get them off the table
Barb, you know my memory isn't the best right now..was your brother's memorial this weekend or next
Happy with myself. Lol
Ziggy says good morning to you all, now playing hide and seek
Snow is just starting here. Know it is going to be a lazy day here. The TH have their chewie and 2 have fallen back to sleep with the chewie in their mouths.Duke and Chaos have learned to do that as Diesel sneaks up on them and takes the chewie.I must get a pic of him with all 3 chewies in his mouth. Once he has done that he falls asleep with all 3 in his mouth.I found out that if I simmer the ends that are left in beef broth they become interested in them again.
Safe travels for Sharon and Inuk. Will be watching .... thanks Deb
Yesterday when I went out I dropped off a book I had borrowed from a friend plus this gorgeous fisherman knit vest 2 of my nephews had sent me. It was knitted in Ireland and was lovely. You can tell they haven't seen me in person for over 25 years as the vest comes down passed my knees.With permission from my DNs I gave it to this friend. Anyway Maryl likes to sleep late and gets up around 10 am. I was there about 8 am so didn't even bother to knock.Left the parcel in our hiding spot. Since Ron her DH passed a couple of months ago she has been having trouble sleeping - as I walked away I looked up and saw her in what I hoped was a sound sleep. I didn't know what to do ......what if she was ill. I left but did call her son to check on her. Maryl called me about 2 pm - all was good. She got up around 8am ,sat in her recliner to read and fell fast asleep.
(((Barb and Norm))) It's hard not knowing whether you are going to go or not. Poor Norm he's a doer and I am sure it is very hard on him to see others doing the work he has always done. The first time the guys came to cut and split the wood it brought Warren to tears as it was a chore he and I alone used to do together.Sending positive thoughts and prayers for you and Norm.
I was thinking about the plow driver who almost hit you Betty. Those poor guys when a storm hits often go 24 - 48 hours without sleep. Especially those who are paid by the plow not the season.
There is a banana calling my name so I better go get it.
Stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne
Victoria Harbour, ON
Dianne, must be a big storm mass, coming down like crazy. I'm sure your friend will love the sweater, they are so warm..what a treasure it will be for her but sad it didn't fit you..smiling at the dogs, might be a good time for you to rest as well.
Yes, the plowmen do have a job When we have as much snow as we are getting..thing is, think I forgot to mention this, he was fdoing it for a lady I also know from Port Severn, who arrived just after the incident..when I asked if she was moving in as there was a sold sign on the lawn, she said no a friend of hers had died and she was executor of the will..property had not been plowed yet this winter so Orval was taking big runs at pushing snow back, thus high banks and speed.
Verona, ON
You know Betty it always amazes me what a small world we live in.
Victoria Harbour, ON
It is indeed..always loved doing the Walt Disney world 'it's a small, small world after all' regardless of where you are seems you meet up with somebody you know or who knows somebody you know
Lyndonville, NY
Our snow has turned to icy and rain and back to snow and then rain right now. It is a mess out there! I have no plans to leave the house but to take the dog out for his back yard walk.
You do know Ziggy will be in those little cubes in no time napping. I would call that kitty bunk beds here! lol
My eye allergys are all flared up so not staying on long.
Everyone stay safe and warm!
Victoria Harbour, ON
Debbie, Sharon hit the storm, said she was driving about 30mph.hope she gets to NYC without mishap. No ice here, still snowing like crazy...
Watch it when you take the dog out Debbie..easy to fall
What would be bothering your allergies at this time of year?
As for Ziggy, haven't been letting him in craft room, doesn't seem to mind..too many things he can get into.
Had a nap amd now I've lost most of my energy..
Sitting here snipping fabric for a bag I'm fdoing, likely set it aside till tomorrow less of course I get an energy attack
Victoria Harbour, ON
Morning from snowed in Ontario
How did you make out Debbie and Dianne? Imagine some of you stateside got the same? Well not our lucky Liz and lindakay
Just finishing coffee then out to get the back pathway done to craft room entrance and staircase befor Andrew comes to plow, makes it easier with this amount of snow to move my car so he can try and find a place to put the snow..only one other year he had to bring backhoe in to get rid of snow, think he is at that point now
Think I will pick up some sweets from next door as a reward for shovelling.
Debbie, how is your mother in law?
Bet Sharon is all a jitters today
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Good morning.
Sounds like a lot of snow. Please be careful shoveling.
Sending lots of luck for Sharon and Inuk. What time is the show?
Victoria Harbour, ON
Think it's not u til 9:30, usually I'm sleeping by then
Municipal Plows haven't been as yet, lots not getting out, schools closed, Lordy they have had a lot of snow/freezing rain days, see some kids walking to school so teachers must be running programs.
Was waiting for Andrew to come and when I'd move car out od drive I'd get a treat at the bakery but it might be a sign to forgo sweets for today.
They say this long weekend will be a glorious weekend, lots of sunshine and warmer temps so great for taking mom to Buffalo
Keep reviewing my list, maybe if I forgo eating for a month I just might be able to buy everything on it, after buying that stitch regulator my craft account Is empty, oh woo is me!
northeast, IL(Zone 5a)
From what I saw, I believe Inuk was Select Dog. The best of breed winner was shown by a black man, the only other male handler was on the dog that won Select, so I'm guessing that was Inuk. He showed really well and looked good. Congratulations to Sharon on a wonderful show career on him. I hope he has a good retirement!
Victoria Harbour, ON
How odd, she said 9:30 but perhaps she meant this morning..feeling bad for her
northeast, IL(Zone 5a)
Breed judging started at 8:30 this morning. Groups will be in the evening. Does she have another up and coming dog that she will focus on next? There is a video posted on the Westminster website. If you go to Breed results, there is a link to the video. I thought he looked better than the dog that went best of breed. On the down and back from the judge, the dog that won Breed was all over the place with his feet. Should be a nice trot, in a straight line. In the judging seminar I attended we were told the best way to watch movement with the dog trotting away from you was to watch the pads on their feet as they trotted so you could see if they are moving true. Inuk was much better, in my opinion, though I don't know a thing about Amer. Eskimos! I'm sure she is disappointed, but he had a wonderful career, the kind many of us dream of for our dogs!
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
This is the video for the judging.
Hardly any claps for the other dogs, Inuk got clapping and cheers.
Sharon said last night that a group of American Eskimo breeders said they had it in theb, upset Sharon, said judges in no Waugh would let Inuk win best of breed..she had hoped though seeing Inuk was going to retire that he couldgo out with a bang..know she is hurting big time
plow only came about an hour ago..think all are trying to determine where they will put the next snowfall including Andrew
Did say nicer weather ahead of us but starting to snow again.
Barb, did norm get out for his appointment or is it tomorrow
Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)
Sorry to hear that Inuk couldn't win his last Competition. I suppose they were "moving on" and starting the next American Eskimo.....?!?!? I feel badly for Sharon.
It looks like a nice day out today. There's a fellow coming out today to finish the shingling on the roof. We haven't heard from the fellow who was going to do the drywall. He lives in town here. He & his son were going to do the work. Once it's done, Bob can start on the floor and then we can do painting, wallpaper, and panelling (in squares, with trim - not sure what it's called)
Here's the door & 2 sidelights that were installed yesterday.
